Words Woven - Parody Mary BEULEY - Words Woven

Words woven into speech
soon reach
intact thread spirit of each act,
knit warp and weft of wit wish fact,
dreams' tapestry may teach.

Words express essentials,
transmit, unwind
from mind to mind,
address ideas which, blind,
would grope for means to equate
sensations refined,
coarse, sophisticate.
Thus they incarnate
emotion's multi coloured coat, pattern twist
around ideas which form,
unform,
inform or disinform,
or take by storm
precisely or by gist
the geist soul kissed.

Words woven into speech
pen hand,
when scanned
from thoughts’ life blood leach
emotions, sense, dressed to suit
points phallic and points mute,
ideo-grand!

Words Woven

Words woven into rhyme
In time
Become a tapestry of thought
A canvas of experience in which
Our dreams are wrought.

Words are the evidence of what goes on
communicate
Within the mind.
They clothe the invisible
With robes of speech,
Sophisticated as silk,
Homespun as hessian,
And in between
The many-patterned, many-textured range,
Familiar and strange,
Of words -
Woven and dyed and spun
For Fun
Or seriously aware
Of what is there.

Words woven into rhyme
Or prose
Transpose
Giving the tiny embryo of thought
A dress to wear, most delicately wrought,
And caught for ever in a form know
And understand.

Respite

Seek not in sect soul’s quest for quick relief
as narrow road leads to, from, narrow mind,
open tracks which back up tacks to find
respite till Search and Way unite as whole.
None need to feed from need to fire fame’s coal,
match flame with aim in game to leave behind
the past, for first IS last, draws double bind.
Reject temptation’s superficial role,
lip-service lending simply to control
disparities that, poles apart, unwind
when tenets tested cannot be combined
with sentiments sustained, coherent goal.
If puzzle pieces of their own accord
can fit, ‘tis writ, - if not, await reward.

On Paper. Not In Reality.

Don't be foolish.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion.
Aren't we living in a society,
That welcomes free speech?

'Yes...
But it seems to me that...'

Next! ?

'I thought you said we live in a society,
That welcomes free speech? '

On paper.
Not in reality.
I've 'earned' my free speech.
Haven't you noticed how I select my words?
Only 'then' are you free to do so as well.

Next?
I will take two more opinions,
And that will be it!
No...
Not yours.
The good looking one,
From the state of Connecticut!
May I have your opinion, please?

Spirit

I can see my destination
I can hear my call
No more hesitation, mmm
This time I'm goin' for all
'Cause I know where this road leads to
And therefore I will rise
I know this dream will come true, mmm
And I will soar the sky
(Spirit, spirit)
Would you guide me? Oh
(Spirit) oh (spirit)
Stand by me
Come on, Come on, Come on
Set me free
I can feel the penetration
Of a strong wind movin' me, mmm
I feel can the elevation, mmm
Of an angel lifting me, mmm
'Cause I know where this road leads to
Therefore I will rise
I know this dream will come true, oh
And I will soar the sky
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Would you guide me? Ohh
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Standin' by me
Come on, Come on, Come on
Set me free
(Oh spirit)
Now that I've found my way home
I've got to get there, get there (get there)
Though one step seems one mile long
Your bridge before my face (your bridge before my face)
I will take the leap of faith (I will take the leap of faith)
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Would you guide me? Oh
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Stand by me, oh
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Set me free...
(Spirit) spirit (spirit) spirit
Spirit, set me free
(Spirit) help me find my way (spirit) stand by my side
Spirit take my hand and be my guide
(Spirit) run free (spirit) run free
Run free, run free

Climb

maybe Im not as smart as I thought
as I come back down
entertain the sun
beg it to go on
dont leave me all alone down here
cause I dont have a doubt
that I am without
a way out of this
and I climb
this wasted time
I've been in
and I find
I change my mind
again you win
can you take the ashes that Ive burned
at your expense
cause I cant tell you why
all the things that I
havent thought to ask you for
I am at the end
I cannot pretend
that everythings ok this time
and I climb
this wasted time
I've been in
and I find
I change my mind
again you win
I cant walk away from you
I cant deny what you say is true
I cant understand everything you do
still I cant walk away
and I climb
this wasted time
I've been in
and I find
I change my mind
again you win
when I climb
when I climb
when I climb

Mantis and Chameleon Combined

MANTIS AND CHAMELEON COMBINED

Mantis and chameleon combined
In sorrow-smile strange siren spectrum sings.
Rainbow surface spins unfathomed rings,
Intense emotions stirs. Heart, unassigned,
Awaits soft spell but enters hell, won't bind.
Much time is wasted, time whose acid stings
Must dreams dissolve, naught solve. Vain vampire wings
Each night takes flight, though fantasy, resigned,
No spice retains, scope wanes as hopes unwind.
Defensive moats must lapse, emotions bring
Ease, understanding, joy in everything,
Serenity with sharing redefined.
Mobility of spirit and of mind
Must self-acceptance learn, fears leave behind.

No Pangs of Guilt

No pangs of guilt find reason's season, sin
Or virtue are judgemental values set,
Play games synaptic as mind's second bet -
Answers from which few gain obtain within.
N dimensions quantum photons spin
Ground here, sky there, both cloned, uncloned, forget
Same dreams as teams they memorised, and yet
Once here, now nowhere, thin edged wedge can twin.
Free heart can chart fresh start, spurn static din,
Grow, flow, know physics can't code kith, kin. Let
Understanding flowers; foreclosing fret,
In absence, presence, as a second skin.
Life's change range strange acrostic here can show
That little matters where two, sharing, grow...

Free At Last

Now I am trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give you insight might just change your life
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free from fooling round wasting time,
Floating in this abyss of your dreadful love
Free is a feeling so high in the sky
Higher higher higher
Free from the quarrels unsatisfaction
Free from the false dream that you planted
In me with your submissive love
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Now I am open like the sky
For the sun to shine and colors true
To find me blue
Oh what a joy to be free
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free of cheating your poor heart at my own damn expense
The cost was heavy and it rent as a thunder cloud
A hurricane sure racked in my heart
Now the rain is gone and I am gone
Yes, I am moving on
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,

Freedom's Bond

It's your dream come true
You are free, free to be, free to breathe
Free to see, what do you see?
What do you be?
Freedom's price, bondage's ice
You have a dream?
Chase it till it becomes your reality
Spread your wings
Soar around the rings
Of Saturn's infinity
How do you feel?
Do your wings feel weak?
Or do you feel like one of the gods of the Greeks?
One day at a time you took
One feet at a time you looked
Six feet, six inches above all
Success, the greatness before the fall
It's lonely at the top I heard
How many eagles shave your beard?
It's your dream come true
Does pride blind you or bonds you as his bride
Till all the lowly bound you chide
And your glorious tears you hide
And your darkest fears in you confide
Can anyone else come through?
Reach you, teach you, feel you? ...
Free you?
You.
Bound for the skies.
Bound.
Free for the stars.
Freedom. Greatness. Success. Freedom.
Do the winds fade your wings?
Do you just dream of sitting
Do you just wish for a sound.
Sound.
The chickens call it laughter.
How does it feel?
Happy ever after
Or take me before after?
You were great before anyone screamed your name
You were great before the fame
You were great, before the game
Six feet at a time, six under in no time
The hurricane washed that beach
And those two people away
One day at a time, each day is a dream come true
No matter what happens in it
One day at a time
One day and no time
No time and no you
Free your mind and be you
For in no time, there will be no you.

Just Wait For Life

Let time be time while time can be
For mind gives way to mind
And thoughts of will, free will, turn free
Progression says all stop, reform
Renew, rethink, redeem, renorm
And change is change while change can be
For thoughts all change the thoughts we see
And all is not what all can be
For all is what I make of me
And you, for we're all connected
Fate is false while false
Til' will is urged and redirected
Like rhymes which change
Life is broken, fixed, and broken
Renewed reawoken,
Words they change, all semantics,
They restate the love, sorrow, fear,
Strike and make you rise to your feat
All change it changes life and need
It is all it is, reform, progressive static
It's magic, music, boom bam to the beat.

Dreams Of Ordinary Men

There is an essence in the water
There is a spirit in the sky
There is a spider drawing webs
To crucify a fly
The fly is drawing nearer
Just as if he knew
How we all must fit the pattern
How the pattern must fit you
Everybody say amen
These are the dreams of ordinary men
This is the world that well be living in
Out of the dreams of ordinary men
I mistook all your intentions
But you never did deceive
I have a helpless fascination
For the web you wove for me
We had nightly public beatings
But we slept in private hells
And I feel no guilt or vengeance
We just couldnt help ourselves
So whats the answer I have to find
To change my world like I change my mind
And change my life
If I could only change my dreams

Free In You

A hard knock
A cold clock
Ticking off my time
A long look
But no luck
Couldn't seem to find
Or unwind
Into peace of mind
While I was trying
A quick glance
A big chance
My heart beat like a drum
I saw you
And I knew
Chances just don't come
Round again
Not like this
First a laugh
Then a kiss
And I'm free in you
I've got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you
The lost time
And self pride
Are my big mistakes
A clear voice
A bad choice
Sounding like an ache
In my day
Not too bad
But too real
To go away
But now I'm free in you
I've got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you
And I don't know
How you show
Such gentle disregard
For the ugly in me
That I see
That for so long
I took so hard
(I took so hard)
And I truly believe
(I truly believe)
That you see the best in me
(That you see the best in me)
I'm in love
We all love
And that thought
Sets me free
Free in you
Got no worries on my mind
I know what to do
That's to treat you right
And love you kind
Thank you ever on my mind
Love is just like breathing
When it's true
And I'm free in you
Yes I'm free in you

At First Sight

Before false interferences twist mind,
distort perceptions caught, one ought to try
to focus clearly, spirit satisfy,
sharing impressions which should never die
while magic taps into soul’s spring to bind
one day’s events to sense. Here's underlined
empathy with which all identify,
walls fall, emotions' limitless supply.
One chance glance dance askance left half-truth, lie.

Replete with red rose, awed, decor refined,
two former strangers kismet met, good-bye
forever was forgotten as July
supplanted January on the sly.
Earth's seasons topsy-turvy turned as eye
encountered eye which rich dreams decked behind
blocks' veil to comfort karma pre-designed.
Charmed pair shared earth, air, water, fire, entwined,
rebirth freed from dearth's desert dusty, dry.
27 October 1990 revised1 7 June 1991 3 May 2005 and

Once in a lifetime favoured few may find
such inspiration words can’t even try
to pin down, predefine, or qualify,
limit, understate or question why,
scorn karma as coincidence or lie.
Yesterday, by more than chance, I dined
across from eyes whose energies unwind,
sensed shocks synaptic instantly defy
Time itself, felt souls electrify.

Here differences dissolved, fears undermined.
That first glance opened understanding. Blind
before ‘one’ must have been, with every tie
from gravity released, - no low, no high -
as everywhere twinned spirits teamed, naught awry.
Base substance shed, trite trammels left behind,
We walked on air, all purer felt, refined,
senses swam, consumed - hedged bets unwind -
completion's joy few mortals quantify.

The message all embraced and somehow signed
dimensions new whose rainbow hues deny
time and space, displace doubts, multiply
empathy, empowering wings to fly.
Magnified magnficence might find
its place in all, for all was redefined ~
impression that itself was heightened by
acceptance shared, that nothing could deny.

That message understanding underlined.
No need for questions, no need for reply, ~
answers sprang spontaneous to apply
bright lining, insight to identify
the meaning of the universe, to bind
its discords into harmony aligned,
no strain no reinn no pain, sight cleared, thereby
abolishing all need to feed ‘how? ’, ‘why? ’

Like lightning current passed. Two intertwined,
upwards spiralled seven heavens high,
each could discover, reach, personify
both peace, release, within a soul-storm’s eye.
Within this ‘vortext’ top-like spun some kind
of symphony ~ enchantment predefined ~
responding, permeating all ~ as “my”
no sense retained, drained out by inner eye.

We weightless whirled while everything combined
in all, through all, dimensions ~ instant tie.
Past ~ mirage pale ~ shed to transmogrify
emotions' surges, sudden signify
end to beginnings. Soul to soul could bind,
race, face much more than base touch, leave behind
waste walls, taste joys which logic strict defy.
Apart from all, yet part of all felt I!

It seemed imagination, - much maligned,
by most as tinted outpost for a lie -
was in true colours seen as empty sigh -
a monochrome excuse or alibi
compared with glory storybook devined
that far outshines words' narrow worlds purblind.
Enlightenment at last could testify
to well-spring wonder's spell swell, never dry.

We shared intense impressions counter-signed
by marvelment, as interactive high
engraved emotions, inklings, on the fly,
Rhyme’s splendour fans reflections, spans earth, sky,
touched, as it were, by karma to unwind
in every thought and everything, shared mind.
Allied perceptions alter for the best
our reach on life as here pen comes to rest.

Take a Break

I dreamt a dream with in a dream.
I did not know it could be so.
All part and parcel of the scheme
my mind creates, so that I know.

The human mind can’t be restrained
by any kind of boundaries
but refuses to be constrained
and demonstrates abilities.

Above beyond all that we know.
Though bodies ruled by gravity
are limited and cannot go
The Human mind can still fly free.

To where our bodies cannot go.
Explore the universe at will.
I am convinced it must be so
That is why our dreams fulfil.

Much more than can reality.
The humdrum world of every day
we can escape in fantasy
Just free your mind and let play.

You’ll find it will relieve your stress
You can forget what troubles you
The worries that you can’t express
Just close your eyes, that’s all you do.

A day dream is holiday
That everyone’s entitled to.
I am quite sure you know the way
to slip off for hour or two.

Cell - 2

The cell is the only sanctuary
he will worship in.
He broke the law and got caught.
That's the only difference between us;
he got caught.

Condemnation scarred even his heart.
Society says that's what he deserved.
But He says, you are free.
How could this be?
After meal the locks click everyday.
So how could I be free?
He says 'believe in Me and you'll see'.

I don't understand this,
so I shared it with a friend.
At first, he thought I was joking
or maybe it was what I was smoking.
But I could not stop thinking:
how could I be free?

Then I heard a voice says:
'they can confine the body
but give your spirit to me,
I am free and where I am
you can be'.

I asked: who are you?
How do I know you are real,
and not just my mind
playing tricks on me?
He says: 'I am Jesus, let me in your heart
and I will bond with you.
These bars I will turn into straws.
Even the guards will unclock these locks.
Let me in and you'll see'.

On Cue

Standing in a queue words felt the need
To formalise reflections, let free thoughts
Advance to meet the sheet with [th]inked reports,
Name frames which future frames of mind might feed.
Driving the need was fear that tides recede
In triple time. This frequently aborts
Native imagination – those transports
Germinated as poetic seed
INsight expressing at impressive speed
As neurons sort, report, and then export,
QUestions pulsed, expulsed, as spirit courts
Extra dimensions altogether keyed.
Used, not abused, creative energy
Extends emotions to eternity.

i teach my child by G. Abad

I.
I teach my child
To survive.
I begin with our words,
The simple words first
And last.
They are hardest to learn.
Words like home,
Or friend, or to forgive.
These words are relations.
They are difficult to bear;
Their fruits are unseen.
Or words that promise
Or dream.
Words like honor, or certainty,
Or cheer.
Rarest of sound,
Their roots run deep;
These are words that aspire,
They cast no shade.
These are not words
To speak.
These are the words
Of which we consist,
Indefinite,
Without other ground.

II.
My child
Is without syllables
To utter him,
Captive yet to his origin
In silence.
By every word
To rule his space,
He is released;
He is shaped by his speech.
Every act, too,
Is first without words.
There's no rehearsal
To adjust your deed
From direction of its words.
The words are given,

But there's no script.
Their play is hidden,
We are their stage.
These are the words
That offer to our care
Both sky and earth,
These same words
That may elude our acts.
If we speak them
But cannot meet their sound,
They strand us still
In our void,
Blank like the child
With the uphill silence
Of his words' climb.
And so,
I teach my child
To survive.
I begin with our words,
The simple words first
And last.

Free Verse

I admire all the aims of Free Verse,
‘tis explicit in all that I do
in shaping the stress to converse
with a rhyme-scheme restricted to two.

That I stay with this number is true, -
a linguistic abuse, maybe worse,
how it weighs and encumbers the view! -
but French art needs its aid, though perverse.

Else the Muse would be dumb to a curse,
for to accent, the lingo’s deaf too, -
though what can one do? All’s averse
to fantasy rhyme calls on cue!

May Free Verse’s aims bring joy unto
the young sparks who chance meanings coerce -
whose mental gymnastics’ fun value
is the fire to inspire hopes they’d nurse.

They’re young colts who green pastures traverse
with gravity worthy their virtue,
though mad they’re superb, and no hearse
they’d inherit! Free Verse tempts! You too?
