Sharpened [s]words fall flat,
heart he art fully pulses
to tatami mat.

Finding words
Finding words
~
My heart was talking awkward
Perhaps I did not say
That I had thought to have said
Words so often I claim to understand
Often leave me at a loss
That I could not find the right words to say
Leave me replaying our conversation
I sear I said you were beautiful
And maybe how I wanted to be with you
Could I have said that with any clarity
That you understood fully my heart
Would I now be questioning my words
I am unable to say except in truth
Those are the words I wish to say
My feelings towards you
Though my heart rambles awkward
Saying plenty without saying much
Perhaps I never actually say
That I have thought to say

The Music Is Gone
THE MUSIC IS GONE
The music is gone-
What is a poem without its own music?
There is no melody in me.
I hear these flat words form on the flat page.
There are no dimensions to me
I hear no singing as I write.
This poem is words with little feeling
A flat poor poem written by an old man
Who this morning
has not yet truly woken up.

christ what a way!
here
transrational beasts
roam round

flat as stone
save for one
sharpened spike
crushed in iron.

Words
Words on this paper
Words in my head
Words while I'm texting
Computing
Unsaid
Words between people
Words on the phone
Words upon words
Even when I'm alone
Words from the Bible
I question
Don't mesh
Words from pornography
Making them flesh
Words with flat letters
Written in black
Good words and bad words
You cannot take back
Words that are shallow
Words that are deep
When they're too many
They put me to sleep
Words that I'm writing
And rhyming you read
Whatever I'm saying
There's prolly no need
Words from the alphabet
Words that can't be
When you are blind
And it's Braile that you see
Words that are worthless
And said on the fly
My words or your words
Are most likely lies
Words in a sentence
Wise words or fair
The only words earnest
Are those said in prayer

When people come to me and tell me I was terrific in this or that, I do not want to fall flat on my face the next time. But, tough, I have fallen flat before. You just get up and dust yourself off.

The Poetry Has Gone Out Of Me
The Poetry has gone out of me
I am as blank as prose-
There is no force of feeling in me
Flat as a lox my words on the page-
I am the middle of the Midwest
Going on and on on the surface only-
I have no inside-
No wind shakes me-
Words are words and only words,
Detached from all emotion-
How flat stale not even weary and unprofitable can a blank confessional poem be?
The feeling of being without feeling
No feeling at all.
A lox inside and a lox on the page.

Wrap My Words Around You
Is it fair to write a song to a woman
Is it fair play to try to win her heart
Is it right to bring her sonnets in the morning-time
To express the first few longings when they start
To express the first few longings when they start
Is it right to let her feeling rise to catch you
Is it ok when her heart begins to fall
Would you blame me if I wrap my words around you girl
Would I wrong you to say anything at all
Would I wrong you to say anything at all
But if I wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If i wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would you stay, would you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
If i wrap my words around you
Would you stay, would it play with your heart
Am I a hunter if i send poems to please you
Am I a cad if I mean everything I say
Should I even let you know this song's about you girl
Just because I want to see you smile today
And my words may bind you to me much too tightly
And you may choke upon them if we fall apart
It's not fair to write a song to a woman, no
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
Because a woman takes a song into her heart
So let me wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Till you stay, till you stay, let me
Wrap my words around you
Wrap my words around you
Darling, wrap my words around you
Til you stay, would it play with your heart

Defined differently
I would define it differently
It is not as simple as that apparently
You may fall in love anytime
May be in later stage of life sometimes
It is not quality that compels
It is not outer show that repels
But only heart that catches the impulses
Those lovely messages and misses
I would go flat for anything
If that grants me refuge for something
Not hide any feeling or emotions
As it will involve lots of compositions
It happens to be both sided affair
That can be considered as lovely and fair
Body attraction may be condemned for that name
But history is witness that human being is not to be blamed
It is wide and respected term
That takes ugly or good turn
Person may find big tree
To take shelter underneath and feel free
Think of those blessings you have from almighty
You feel compassion, love and pity
These are divine pulses that may originate
When you think in those terms and honestly relate

Lie After Lie
She lingers and lingers
Heart to heart, breaking promise breaking swears. Saying words she can't explain.Words and words with no affection, loves to pop 'I love you' to earth to skys, loves the word but not the meaning, shatters you then fakes the love! Holds your hand, hugs you hard and swears and swears that your the one. You try and try to stay away, lie after lie makes you fall in love, she makes your heart stop you try to breath you try to speak but no words no air at all. Change after change to make her happy, make her see you, make her fall. Fast as the lighting she turns and here's words you once said but never heard, and there she goes again lie after lie and those words can just fly through winds from ear to ear with no emotion!

Make It All OK
You threw away the ballast and you rowed your boat ashore
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
You made your ultimatum too big to ignore
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
So you worked out your excuses,
turned away and shut the door.
The world's too vast for us now,
and you wanted to explore
It's a long, long long road
And I don't know which way to go
If you offered me your hand again I'd have to walk away.
When I saw you at the street fair, you called out my name
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
You said we could start over, try and make it all okay.
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
So our past has been rewritten
and you threw away the pen.
You'd said that I was useless,
but now you'll take me in again
Well Jesus loves me fine.
And your words fall flat this time.
Was it my imagination, or did I hear you say,
"We don't have a prayer between us."
Didn't you believe that I have finally turned away?
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
Anything to hold onto to help me through my day.
Didn't you, now? Didn't you?
Jesus loves me fine.
But his words fall flat this time.
It's a long, long long road
And I don't know which way to go
If you offered me your world, did you think I'd really stay?
If you offered me the heavens, I would have to turn away.
Was it my imagination, or did I hear you say,
"We don't have a prayer between us."
Didn't you, now? Didn't you, now?
Didn't you?

Anechoic Chambers
The anechoic chambers of my heart
Reflect the acoustic reverberations
Of silence's muted susurrations,
The resting notes too defeaned to depart.
What melodic contour, in sequence, starts
The harmonic depth of orchestration,
The fully dynamic augmentation
Of the symphony I'd like to impart?
The enclosed, infinite dimensions
Of quiet, interior space remain
Insulated from open influence,
Suspended from the sonic ascension
Of electromagnetic pulses gained-
Static feedback phasing for confluence.

Impetuous Me
How dare I fall in love with you
When God pushed us apart
Although I felt my soul was due
Harsh words pierced my naked heart
How dare I fall in love with you
My heart did say with naiveté,
Why not rekindle our love anew
As summer Sun illumes each day
How dare I fall in love with you
Although the stars above align
As comets hail my love for you
Confirming you are mine,
How dare I fall in love with you
Because…
My heart and soul know well what’s true

It's also helpful to realize that this very body that we have, that's sitting right here right now... with its aches and it pleasures... is exactly what we need to be fully human, fully awake, fully alive.

After The Fall
So now love is gone
I cant t go on, love is gone
I want to say
Now its just too late
Waited far too long
Should have told you then I knew
Should have told you right
From the start
But the words
Didnt come out right
So Ill tell you
Straight from my heart
You meant more to me
Than I let you see
You held on somehow
All your tenderness
And your sweet caress
I miss you now
Buy a headstrong stubborn man
Only works it out the best he can
Valentines he never sent
Theres not enough time
Hes a workin man
Cant stop fallin
Heartaches callin
Finds you after the fall
Saints or sinners
Take no prisoners
Whats left after you fall
No not much no
Oh I say love is gone
I cant go on
Now love is gone
I want to say
But its just too late
Waited far too long
Should have told you then I knew
Should have told you right
From the start
But the words
Didnt come out right
So Ill tell you
Straight from my heart
(chorus)
No no not much
After the fall
After you fall
After you fall

It s True
Its true
Even a lover makes a mistake sometimes
Like any other fall out and loose his mind
And Im sorry for the things I did
For your tear drops, all the words I said
Can you forigive me and open your heart once again
Oh yeah
Its true
I mean it
From the bottom of my heart
Yeah its true
Without you I would fall apart
What ever happened
I know that I was wrong
Can you believe me maybe your faith is gone
Oh yes it is
But I love you
And I always will
So I wonder if you want me still
Can you forgive me and open your heart once again
Oh yeah
Its true
(yes its true)
I mean it
(yeah)
From the bottom of my heart
Yeah its true
Without you I would fall apart
Id do anything to make it up to you
So please understand
And open your heart once again
Its true
(oh!)
I mean it from the bottom of my heart
Yeah its true
Without I would fall apart
Its true

Her Love Divine
She gave me the key to her heart!
And led me to her most treasured part.
She held my pulses and said 'be still'
Her charm healed my common ill
She touched my cold soul to life
Whose love dared my mortal strife
And at night she whispered these words to me
'Let me be wherever you may be
I will hold you close to keep you warm
In all your dreams, i will bless you unharm
And though you sleep that sleep of death
I will be your prayers, i will be your breath
Yet if the new day must thee forget
Your sun in my heart shall never set'!

So Flamed
Sometimes thought could say nothing,
Smell of burning arrived, fully in action.
Then she thought of a saying to pleasure,
Letting flowers fall, feeling nobody but shaking.
Sometimes he went fast, sometimes slow,
There was a little match, tyranny called itself.
He felt himself transfixed, fully exploding
With the confined place, so differing, so flamed.
