Lake Of Fire
A new fishing well we need
Only vultures belong here
This place is unquenchable
Maggots feast on human remains
Is it Hades? Is it Gehenna?
Our bellies are rotted
We exhale fire
We do not belong here
Not even dogs
Darkness permeates this place
Where is the peace
Where is the quite
Is it Hades? Is it Gehenna?
Men and women
Some old some young
Populate this dump
Skeletons erect
Skins on the ground
There is no water
People drink puss
Even though flesh burns
There is no ashes
Is it Hades? Is it Gehenna?
O God why are we here?
'It's the decisions you made'
Give us another chance
We'll even sing on the choir
Too bad
Too late
This is the lake of fire

Take Me Not To Hades
When I die, please take
Me not to Hades
There is a place up there
I want to go.
In my past, I did things bad
Things that make me black
in my heart.
Please show me mercy
That mercy which caused
you to do it.
You did it for mankind
Don't let it pass me by.
It is atonement I seek,
May it be what I reap.
I deserve to die,
We all deserve to die.
But when I die, please
Take me not to Hades
This is my fear for ages.
It is there, up there
In my fathers home
I want to go.

Earthworm Descent
Love watching earthworms
at night, with a flash light
shining on them as
they make their descent
into the ground.
So slimy are they
but so fun to try
and catch them
before they make
their descent
into the ground.
As a child used
to go into backyard
in search of the
earthworm watching
as it burrows into
the soil,
tying so hard to
crab them as they
slip through my fingers
and make their
descent into the ground.
Would just try to
catch them for
fun, not fishing
putting them in
a jar and watching
them as they
would burrow into
the soil.
Later would let
them go without
harm and watching
as they made
their descent
into the ground.

We as Americans of Latin descent are just as American as anyone else of any other descent.

Don't Forgive Him
Men of clan kill those they love for money,
Blood of brothers can't be cleanse
from their memory
Hades, get thee behind me!
Who knows when Christ is coming?
.
Faustus sold his soul for love of magic
And had them all to his means,
From scholarly, he went to trickery,
Who knows what else could it be?
.
Mephastophilis, dont you forgive him,
Your time at his service is finished
You kill him, you burn him
you slaughter him,
His soul you take with you to Hades
Till he realises there is no escape
from nemesis.
.
Oh ye who think Nigerians are fraudsters,
Never mind, go thee to Jamaica.
Till the day you realises no place is better,
Your life again won't be safer.

Sinners Like Me
Sinners like me,
Listen;
If you should go
There before me
Tell Hades not to
Hope for my coming.
.
There is a place, up there
In the sky, fathers abode
I want to go,
From where I was
Brought to my
Mothers home.
.
Though the
Corruption of time
Has had me
Grown so big, that
I'm afraid I may not
Anymore be able to
Fit through that same road
Through which
I was brought here.

Soul Release
'Oh no, oh no, hey no, hey not you cry
O' my dear heart what gain gain you crying
What gain regained hollering and you try
Pain clutched you clutch patience till me flying
And me His child as I rest in His hand
You fill their hunt of fleshy need and thirst
Erst vow, again a sheep be not on land
As I to Him so pray no slay thrust first'
In haste the heart the sheep's on men mutters
'And you my soul shall plead for no altar
As me so laid butchered fixed by cutters'
But Hades bitters 'no soul shall taste nectar'
Oh Lord done can be what? to Hades his taste
To sheep their weep, to men their sin life waste?

An Old Legend
One day I pass
a place where cliffs
gnashes into the sky
and an old legend
comes alive with me.
In the distance
I hear a child’s cry,
calling in vain to be rescued
and the pain cuts past all reason.
At a rock ledge a child had fallen
and was crushed,
and laid in rock pinchers
without having a way out
Nobody could get over that
slippery rocks,
to get to help him
without also falling down.
No strong rawhide thongs
could descent at that place
and nobody could
get him out of there.
At that place
a father’s hart broke into pieces
and the agony and pain of the child,
went like a knife
through him.
There he had to sacrifice his son
without getting any redemption
and while tears streamed down his cheeks,
a single accurate shot resounds.
That shot still echoes
and the child lay lifeless
and nothing can take the pain,
from a fathers heart.

My Immortal
You let me fall but held my heart together,
You blew me to the depths of Hades but held my breath,
You left me but let me keep your soul,
I cry all my tears out on the sand
But the rain washes them away-
Absorbing the dregs of their saltiness,
Thus making the tears in my eyes fresh,
You are the only answer where there is no question,
Everyone has a place to die;
I sprinkle my blood on your heart for it to open-
For there, I will die

The Liberation of Lunatics
Logic cannot save me
Only hysteria gives me hope
For my descent into depression
Ration has no rope
Valor cannot help me
Courage has no chance
Only delirium can save me
From the soft, demonic chants
No god has any power
Nor messiah any grace
Only the beckons of madness
Can save me from this place

The Ballet Of The Fifth Year
Where the sea gulls sleep or indeed where they fly
Is a place of different traffic. Although I
Consider the fishing bay (where I see them dip and curve
And purely glide) a place that weakens the nerve
Of will, and closes my eyes, as they should not be
(They should burn like the street-light all night quietly,
So that whatever is present will be known to me),
Nevertheless the gulls and the imagination
Of where they sleep, which comes to creation
In strict shape and color, from their dallying
Their wings slowly, and suddenly rallying
Over, up, down the arabesque of descent,
Is an old act enacted, my fabulous intent
When I skated, afraid of policemen, five years old,
In the winter sunset, sorrowful and cold,
Hardly attained to thought, but old enough to know
Such grace, so self-contained, was the best escape to know.

Cantlets
The wind is blowing. In my blooming field
fragrant! So, I said, My heart be steady
my solitude blossoms latent to yield
a Sunday noon, dim oracle it was and shady
A lonely song cries, in the wind, I said,
brings a murmurous voice, she comes lithe,
and I respond, it is a feast, my timid wed,
my loneliness, loving was a Hades scythe.
I kindly my wrists, I said, I kindly offer,
to a deity that stares, that stares iced
in Hades, my life then will belong to her,
pastoral, lifeless I 'll wonder and demised.
So, I said, to mountains and clear springs,
I wanted to be free, with her to away fly,
a sempiternal wedding not to accept or rings
not to connect our destinies and see her cry.
I 'll be alone, my soul, I said, I 'll stay
next to melodic flowing sweetest rivulets
next to the greenest field I saw her sway
amid angelic voices, our house's cantlets.

I Have Watched With Awe
I have watched with awe
As the sun slowly sinks
Beyond the distant western fields
And I’ve wondered
What’s it like-
The place where the sun goes to bed?
Are there guardians there
Who guide his descent
To his nighttime rest?
What a job it must be
To see the sun safely at rest
Who awakens the sun
Each day
And makes sure
He rises on time?
Who are they
Who bid him to have a good day?
I have watched with awe
The setting and the rising
Of the sun
I have watched
And wondered

Hateful to me as the gates of Hades is that man who hides one thing in his heart and speaks another.
By-tor & The Snow Dog
Words and music by geddy lee, alex lifeson, and neil peart
I. at the tobes of hades
The tobes of hades
Lit by flickering torchlight
The netherworld is gathered in the glare
Prince by-tor takes the cavern
To the north light
The sign of eth is rising in the air
By-tor, knight of darkness,
Centurion of evil
Devils prince
Ii. across the styx
Across the river styx
Out of the lamplight
His nemesis is waiting at the gate
The snow dog, ermine glowing
In the damp night
Coal-black eyes shimmering with hate
By-tor and the snow dog
Square for battle
Let the fray begin
Iii. of the battle
Instrumental
Iv. epilogue
The battles over
And the dust is clearing
Disciples of the snow dog sound the knell
Rejoicing echoes
As the dawn is nearing
By-tor in defeat
Retreats to hell
Snow dog is victorious
The land of the overworld
Is saved again

The Unknown
Ye aspiring ones, listen to the story of the unknown
Who lies here with no stone to mark the place.
As a boy reckless and wanton,
Wandering with gun in hand through the forest
Near the mansion of Aaron Hatfield,
I shot a hawk perched on the top
Of a dead tree.
He fell with guttural cry
At my feet, his wing broken.
Then I put him in a cage
Where he lived many days cawing angrily at me
When I offered him food.
Daily I search the realms of Hades
For the soul of the hawk,
That I may offer him the friendship
Of one whom life wounded and caged.

Leaving the mountain
Lush carpeting lies far below
smoke creates haze in the valley
at the side of the road is a fire
I wait on a steep mountainside
the sky is filled with candles
platinum coats distant landscapes
tomorrow I descent to travel
on the road beyond the fire
to my fathers place of birth
to travel through his small town
and seek his spirit there
