Bukowski Blues
I live in a dirty, dingy house,
The haunt of the beetle, bedbug and mouse,
But I don't care at all about the flea and the louse
So long as I'm sipping the Famous Grouse!
A taste of that and I feel a lot better
Than the day I got that Dear John letter
And wished by the gods that I'd never met her!
Yes, when I drink whisky I feel a lot better.
I don't care about the mess on the floor
Or the piles of rubbish at the back door -
This place is a pig-sty, that's for sure,
Please pass me the bottle and I'll have some more!
It gives me a kick that chases my blues,
Ignites my humour and provokes my Muse,
It the one panacea a poet should choose
And I'm swigging it now 'cos I've nothing to lose!
It'll ruin my liver, they keep telling me that,
I'm old, unfit and far too fat,
But I'm keeping their warnings under my hat
While my soul's as frisky as a mad tomcat! !

It's been a long time since the party
And the room is in a mess
The four kings of EMI are sitting stately on the floor
There are birds out on the sidewalk
And a valet at the door
He reminds me of a penguin
With few and plastered hair
There's talcum powder on the letter
And the birthday boy is there
Why don't you cut your hair?
Why don't you live up there?

A Whisky Song
I'm frightened as a little mouse
And so I drink THE FAMOUS GROUSE,
It gives me solace, makes me brave
And hastens me to an early grave!
I don't desire to live much longer -
My lust for pleasure is far stronger,
Sobriety's a load of bunk,
I'm far more happy when I'm drunk!
Whisky is my faithful friend
And it will kill me in the end,
But don't expect remorse from me,
Just laugh at my frivolity!
Go on, give over, take a break!
My health and life are both at stake,
It doesn't matter what you think,
I'm married to my favourite drink! !

She's Got The Rhythm
(alan jackson/randy travis)
This old bar stools feeling higher
As a started sinking lower
The minute that she waltzed right through that door
Not long ago i held her
Like a fool i went and left her
Now she's with somebody else out on that floor
And she's got the rhythm and i got the blues
And she's showing me how much i had to lose
With her every little move she's telling me i'm over you
She's got the rhythm and i got the blues
Well that music's gettin' louder
As my heart keeps beatin' faster
As she spells out regret in perfect time
Well i thought i wanted freedom
But that ball and chain i needed
'cause when you choose, sometimes you lose the prize
And she's got the rhythm and i got the blues
And she's showing me how much i had to lose
With her every little move she's telling me i'm over you
She's got the rhythm and i got the blues
With her every little move she's telling me i'm over you
She's got the rhythm and i got the blues

Lost In Space
Live with me, live with me
Live with me, live with me
Live with me.
Lost in space
I heard you were lost in space
Thats such a lonely place for you to be.
Out of control
Singin with too much soul
I heard you got out on parole
Workin for the queen.
Gardening again
Landscape again
Keepin all the grounds around her clean
Workin for the queen.
Dont take out the magic pen
Dont draw on the infinity board
Your buildings, if they rise again
Would do much better on the ocean floor
Theyll never feel the way they did before
They did before.
Out on the ocean floor, out on the ocean floor
What could be stranger than the unknown danger
That lies on the ocean floor?
Breakers crash on the beach
I count them like lambs in my sleep
They come at me steady
They know Im not ready
They pound on my mattress door
Have they got a big one in store.
Losing you
I heard I was losing you
Thats not the only thing that I got to lose
I got to lose
The deep see blues
Look at these blues
The deep see blues
Live with me, live with me.

Stranger In My Own House
(a capella: she said: boy, your luck is running out...she make me feel like a stranger...in my own house)
I come stumbling in at a quarter to three
To the sound of my own dog growlin at me
Im scared to move or turn on a light
Youve got me creepin around in the dark
Like a thief in the night
Ive got no excuse, I should have known
Ive got no place to live
I never feel at home
I walk into the kitchen to see whats there
Im tired and Im hungry but the cupboards bare
Ive been working all day and all night too
I cant believe this is all I have to come back to
I guess Ill take a look upstairs, in the danger zone
I wonder what Im doing here
When I never feel at home
Im a stranger in my own house
Ive got the keys to the door
But Im still locked out
Im a stranger in my own house
Ill huff and Ill puff and Ill blow this house down
Cant be a stranger in my own house
I see the do not disturb sign on my bedroom door
What is this sheet and pillow laying on the floor
I wore out my welcome
I hear you loud and clear
Its time to get a few things straight around here
Ive got no excuse, I should have known
Ive got a place to live but I never feel at home
Im just a stranger in my own house
Ive got the keys to the door
But Im still locked out
Stranger in my own house
Ill huff and Ill puff and Ill blow this house down
Cant be a stranger in my own house
Ive got no excuse, I should have known
With a woman like you Im better off alone
Im a stranger in my own house
Ive got the keys to the door
But Im still locked out
Im just a stranger in my own house
Oh, honey Im home
Im just a stranger in my own house
Im just a stranger in my own house
You got a lion on your hands girl, not a mouse!
Im just a stranger in my own house
Im just a stranger in my own house
Well, somebodys got to go...

Don't Care Anymore
(Speech:)
"OK here we go, for this
We got a B-side to make, ladies and gentlemen,
we haven't got much time now so we better get
right on with it"
I don't care anymore
And I'll kick down anybody's door
To hold you in my arms once more
I'd go anywhere
Y'know I don't care
If your man should get uptight
'Cause we've been alone for most of the night
Now realize it's our right
To get back up them stairs
Y'know I don't care
There's a line I can draw
That often leaves me wanting more
But it's not so often that I feel so sure
Nothing I can do
To stop me falling more in love with you
It can't be so bad
What you want that you do not have
It's got you too upset now
I don't think it's unfair
Y'know I don't care
Anymore
And I'll kick down anybody's door
To hold you in my arms once more
I'd go anywhere
Y'know I
(Very nice, Tony)

I Don't Care
I don't care where I live my life
As long as I have you,
I don't care where my home is
As long as there is us two,
I don't care if we live in a house
Or in a mansion, or even a cave,
I just want you at my side
Where together, forever we will stay,
I don't care to count out my money
Every nickel, penny, quarter or dime,
I don't care to spend all of our money
On our place that is yours and mine,
I don't care if the nights are cold
At the place that we will call home.
I don't care if the days are hot
As long as I have you and I am not alone,
I don't care what country we are in
Or where finally we will lay our roots,
I don't care what language me might speak
As long as I can still say I love you,
I don't care where I sleep at night
Whether it be a hut, or cabin, tent or igloo,
I don't care where I wake up in the morning
As long as I wake up next to you,
I don't care if we have one room
At the place that we will spend our life,
I don't care what people might ever say
All I care is to have you as my wife.

The Mouse and the Grouse
The teeny, tiny mouse said to the finely feathered grouse
“I’d like to come and visit you in your lofty, lovely house.”
The finely feathered grouse smiled at the teeny, tiny mouse
And said, “You can’t since I'm saving it for my future spouse.”
The sad teeny, tiny mouse said, as tears started to douse,
“I’m lonely and just wanted to say hello, finely feathered grouse.”
Well, the finely feathered grouse with his lofty, lovely house
Was lonely too since he hadn’t yet found his future spouse.
But how could a mouse so teeny, tiny and a grouse so fine of feather
Ever visit each other and have a talk together?
They had nothing in common and their lives had different starts.
Although one thing was the same; they both had hurting hearts.
No one had ever visited the finely feathered grouse
And he did like friendly words uttered by the teeny, tiny mouse.
As mister mouse gazed aloft, sir grouse returned that smile
And suddenly blurted out, “Come on up and we’ll chat for awhile.”
Overjoyed, the teeny, tiny mouse jumped, but just bumped the tree.
Then tears wet ears to tail as teeny tiny moaned mournfully,
“You can fly free through the air, but alas, I’m earthbound.
There’s no hope since you live in a tree, but my house is on the ground.”
Suddenly, a star from the heavens flashed an idea for these two.
Perhaps they could visit together if both tried something new.
The finely feathered grouse left his lofty, lovely house
And eagerly landed in a bush near the star struck tiny mouse.
In one hop teeny, tiny leapt toward the bush, and I’ve heard tell
That the friendship of grouse and mouse has been doing very well.

Leave My Blues At Home
I been trapped inside four walls, feel like I cant call to no one
Ah, way out on the outside.
Well livin alone is easy, but too long just dont seem really
Quite the thing to do, no.
Think Ill drink up a little more wine, to ease my worried mind.
And walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.
The landlord is on my line, I cant get no peace of mind.
But I know theres something better.
I cant stay and I cant run, cant keep waitin for someone
To find and go roll.
Well Ill gather up all my four leaf clovers.
Dont leave, Im on my way over.
A walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.
And I feel I have to scream
Whenever I get the notion.
And though I try so hard,
I cant hold back my emotions.
But i... love you, but I cant have ya. wont you sit by my side.
You dont work, the man dont pay ya.
There aint no saint to come and save ya, oh, puttin your toll down.
Well, if you ride you pay the fare... with satan on your back.
And he dont care where you come from or where you goin.\
And before I get myself all down, I jump up and kick the door down.
And walk down on the street, and leave my blues at home. all behind.

Look at the Time! (A Drinking Song)
Look at the time! It's half-past six!
Time for me to be getting my kicks!
I'll have some whisky,
It'll make me frisky,
And then I'll get up to my usual tricks!
Look at the time! It's half-past seven!
And I feel that I should be going to heaven!
I'll have some rum
'Cos I'm not dumb,
And then I'll be drunk by ten to eleven!
Look at the time! It's half-past eight!
I didn't know it was getting so late!
I'll have some brandy
Instead of shandy,
And then I'll be able to face my fate!
Look at the time! It's half-past nine!
(And I know that this doesn't really rhyme!)
I'll have some gin,
It's a bit of a sin,
It's time for a party and I'm feeling fine!
Look at the time! It's half-past ten!
Time to go back to bed again!
I really think
I've had enough to drink,
But I'll be back on the bottle tomorrow again!

Revenge
Pushed me off the dirty floor
You watched as my head hit the floor
You watched as I rolled round and round
You watched as I came tumbling down
You watched as I rolled down the stairs
You never wished me - fare thee well!
You watched as I got on my feet
I ran towards her and she started to plead, no!
Aint got time for what you feel
You did it again
You did it again
You did it again and again and again, ho, ho!
Far below original sin
Far below the state Im in
Far below malicious crimes
Far below her for the time
Far below
Far below
Far below is the place youll go, ho!
Aint got time for what you feel
You did it again
You did it again
You did it again and again and again, ho, ho!
Oh went through the window, quiet as a mouse
No sound was stirring throughout the house
Id heard a noise that made me startle
But I kept on walking down the corridor
Yes the corridor
Yes the corridor
And there you were with a man once more, no!
Aint got time for what you feel
You did it again
You did it again
You did it again and again and again
You did it again
You did it again
You did it again and again and again, ho, ho!

Shi
Test bed,
Test ban,
Test drive,
Test case;
And like Shi your lovely friend,
But the magic pill is all that you need.
Fill, ill, will, till, pill, kill, drill, trill, rill;
use the mouse to satisfy the muse of your love!
Bill, quill, grill, gill, hill, mill, Jill, still;
For this work is needed by Shi your lovely friend.
Mouse, blouse, louse, house, arouse, souse, grouse, rouse!
For this love is like the muse of a beautiful flower;
But Shi your friend still waits for you outside.

Kick It Up
(jim robinson)
Well I work six days out of seven
Waiting all week for saturday night
Going out to neon heaven
Punch the clock on party time
Jamming this old pickup across the county line
Aint it good to be alive
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Play it hot cause I came in here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Got my paycheck in my pocket
Darling well spend every dime
And when this bar starts rocking
Well show them all just how to unwind
Dont worry bout your troubles
Leave em at the door
And Ill meet you out on the floor
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Make it smoke cause she came in here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Kick it up
When the boss man gets you down
Kick it up
If youre tired of the runaround
Kick it up
Yeah we know monday morning will be here before too long
So until the night is gone
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Play it hot make it smoke cause we came here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Oh kick it up
Kick it up (kick it up)
Kick it up (kick it up)

Damaged
When I come home
I know it's you that I'll find
Pacing the floors once again
I know that I'm bored
I'm staying in bed too long
Counting the holes in the door
Damaged is the way I feel
My life is running away
Alone I'm a mess
I don't care how long it's been
I know I'm just wasting away
The clothes on the floor
Just like the mountains outside
The prison I live every day
I want to know if this is real
All of these things that I feel
I want to know if this is real
All of these things that I feel
When I come home
I know it's you that I'll find
Pacing the floors once again

Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere
I can go anyway (way I choose)
I can live anyhow (win or lose)
I can go anywhere (for something new)
Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I choose
Do anything (right or wrong)
I can talk anyhow (and get along)
I dont care anyway (I never lose)
Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I choose
Nothing gets in my way
Not even locked doors
Dont follow the lines that been laid before
I get along anyway I care
Anyway, anyhow, anywhere
I can go anyway (way I choose)
I can live anyhow (win or lose)
I can go anywhere (for something new)
Anyway, anyhow, anywhere I choose
(oh oh oh) anyway,(oh oh oh) anyway I choose
(oh oh oh) I wanna go
(oh oh oh) do it myself, do it myself,(oh oh oh) do it myself, do it myself
Anyway, (oh oh oh) anyway I choose

They propehesied in the name of Baal!
And, they caused my people to err;
Blouse, house, louse, mouse, rouse, arouse, grouse, douse;
And like the slippery places around! !
But, in the darkness without any hope.
Driven on!
And like the traps of the wicked ones;
But your faith will dweell safely with the muse of love,
And like Odisha your friend in the land of your beautiful love.

Dance Off At The Cottage
What a night it was, I was at the Cottage.
I see him dancing all by himself,
Why who is it? It’s none other than Mouse.
Mouse is in the house!
So I go up to Andy and say,
Hey, I’m going to dance Mouse off the stage.
Then Andy gives me a wink,
I go to my friends who give me a drink.
I go to the D.J. and request,
Play Michael Jackson, who is the best.
Then the music begins to play,
I take my shoes off for they get in the way.
The floor is cold for it is brick,
I don’t care, I jump and kick.
Balloons begin to come my way,
Women starts taking pictures and laughing real gay.
Everyone is screaming, it is so much fun,
I dance around Mouse who is the one.
The one I have chosen,
Chosen to dance off the stage,
He finally leaves, and I still dance away.
It was a fun night I do say.
Thanks Mouse for being there to play.

Missing
Has anybody seen my mouse?
I opened his box for half a minute,
Just to make sure he was really in it,
And while I was looking, he jumped outside!
I tried to catch him, I tried, I tried....
I think he's somewhere about the house.
Has anyone seen my mouse?
Uncle John, have you seen my mouse?
Just a small sort of mouse, a dear little brown one,
He came from the country, he wasn't a town one,
So he'll feel all lonely in a London street;
Why, what could he possibly find to eat?
He must be somewhere. I'll ask Aunt Rose:
Have you seen a mouse with a woffelly nose?
He's just got out...
Hasn't anybody seen my mouse?
