About God and Life and that Sorta Stuff
I need Your help, Lord, what should I do?
I don't know how to pray to You,
My words are jumbled up, confused,
My conscience prods me, I'm accused
Of doing things I shouldn't do
And thinking things I shouldn't think
And drowning everything in drink! !
I remember, when I went to school,
I thought the teacher was a fool;
How could a person who was crucified
Come back to life? I was sure he lied.
The Virgin Birth was just a joke,
Women can't get pregnant without a bloke,
Who was this teacher trying to kid?
I knew far more than that teacher did!
Why should I care about my soul?
I was much more interested in Rock & Roll!
My Christian friends seemed rather wet
(But they were tempted too I bet!)
While they were keeping their conscience clean
I'd found a far more interesting scene,
It was on the other side of town
(The side that's mentioned with a frown!)
I'd found a street were the lights were red
And people spent most of their time in bed.
A stranger filled me with desire
And set my soul and limbs on fire.
So what if they did it for a price
With a 'Thank you, dear, that was very nice'?
Oh, I was hooked, I knew it too,
But I always surrendered, well wouldn't you?
First there was sex and the came drugs
(My chaste old school-friends must be mugs!)
I couldn't wait to get my fix,
I lived for alcohol, drugs and chicks!
I didn't know there'd come a day
When the bright lights vanished and all was grey!
Depression came to rule instead
Of the pleasures of my girlfriend's bed,
My life was ruined, full of grief,
I had no comfort, no belief
To cling to in my hour of need,
Christianity seemed a hollow creed.
The You came knocking on my empty heart
And promised me a Brand New Start!
After all the suffering and pain
You said I could be Born Again!
A pretty end to this confession!
And I'm sorry if I gave the impression
That you'd be hearing songs and laughter
As I lived happily ever after!
There's nothing left that can console
Me now, except for Rock & Roll
And sustances I shouldn't touch
Because they cost me far too much!
'Goodbye my Friend, I wish you well
From my little cottage in the suburbs of Hell! ! '

0218 Paradise Known
O God - or may I call you Lord? –
I remember when I was a child,
You were my best friend, one who knew me
better than I knew myself;
and so I talked to You all the time,
especially when I’d been naughty;
then later on, it was taught me
that I’m made in Your image – that feels good…
I know, just as all children do,
what Paradise is, and where:
when the sun is out,
it’s in that wood beyond the field,
where I feel most myself;
but not quite out of sight of home;
and lots of other places just like that;
then when the sun goes in, I go in too,
and Paradise is - when I’m tired and fed,
and then all nice and read to, tucked up in bed;
and Paradise is in my head.
And then, I read in Genesis
how, out of Your immortal bliss,
the way You did it all;
and so, since we’re good friends
and I’m made in Your image,
I have some questions: You did a brilliant job
with fields and woods and animals
and human beings – well, some of them, the ones I like…
and it makes good sense
to have Adam there to look after it all, and to enjoy it;
and a nice idea too to have Eve as his companion –
who else could do the cooking while he’s out at work,
or remind him of the jobs to do around the house?
and if Adam had to have the babies too,
he wouldn’t then be able to go out and work as well…
But why couldn’t You have left it just like that?
you must have guessed that when grown-ups say
‘You’re not to eat the apples on that tree! ’
then you want to do just that,
not for the apples but
because you want to know
just why you shouldn’t do that anyway?
I mean, it’s human, isn’t it?
And if You don’t mind my saying this,
throwing them out of Paradise,
that seems a bit severe for such a crime?
couldn’t You have let them off, first time?
My teacher says ‘it’s all symbolic’ – that the message is
just to be ourselves, and not divide the world
into the ‘good’ and ‘bad’,
or always split our mind in two
or to think we know too much–
(did you tell my teacher that?) :
and that there are some of Your laws
which we must keep, which have just cause;
well, I’ll go along with that;
I never wanted – afterwards – to be naughty, anyway;
I’ve talked toYou about this often, and explained…
I’d like to think that when Adam and Eve
realised what they’d lost, and then said sorry,
they didn’t have to go around in guilt and sin
(Like miserable old Auntie Min..)
and, if Paradise is lost by us, but yet that’s known,
we can then return to what we own?
‘And they all lived happily ever after’
is what the old storybooks all tell me…
or is there perhaps some hidden clue,
like, we often ‘grow up’ and forget about You? …
*
My teacher says I’ve ‘simplified’ –
but didn’t You say, ‘Be as a child’?
Well, Lord, that’s how it seems to me;
and I’m Your child; would You agree?

Hard To Believe
Its very hard as rock
Soft as butter
To respect your teacher
To wish a teacher
May be its right
May not be its right.
Teachers are with variety
Personal variety, proffessional sequence
Thinking, Finding and Rewinding
This is how some are
Hardly difficult to respect
Softly to quite from teacher.
A teacher is ultimate
Supreme to any power
They are the over soul
Life ends or trends
By the immortal souls
Such teachers are rare.
May be you do with
Sometimes you don't
Prepositional elements can end
When a teacher of a kind
Like the catcher in the hell
Hard to believe such teachers.
Teacher is the only truth
He or She the only belief
Trust and belief the other name
When that trust itself is broken
From and by a teacher
Can you believe?
Am sure its hard to believe.
Wish and love and care
Must be submitted to a teacher
Surrendered with respect
Become subaltern under teacher.
Disciples are free from Karma
Liberated after their submission
Recieving with honour, love
Is the only Karma of a teacher.
She kicked me for submission
She insulted my wishes
She bombarded me for my Karma
Gave strong pain in my -.
Is She a teacher?
Is She a mother?
Is She should be regarded?
Is She should be rewarded?
Its hard to believe her.
No student forgive her
No one believe her
No one should wish her
I hope you wont.

Why Do I Feel So Sad?
Friends we've been for so long
Now true colors are showing
Makes me wanna cry oh yes it does
Cuz I had to say goodbye
By now I should know
That in time things would change
So it shouldn't be so bad
So why do I feel so sad
How can I adjust
To the way that things are going
It's killing me slowly
Oh I just want it to be how it used to be
Cuz I wish that I could stay
But in time things must change
So it shouldn't be so bad
So why do I feel so sad
You cannot hide the way you feel inside I realize
Your actions speak much louder than words
So tell me why oh
By now I should know that
That in time things would change
So it shouldn't be it shouldn't be so bad
So why do I feel so sad
By now I should know
That in time things must change
So it shouldn't be so bad
So why do I feel so sad
By now by now I should know
That in time things must grow
And I had to leave you behind
So why do I feel so sad
If it couldn't be that bad
Tell me why
By now I should know
That in time things would change
So it shouldn't be so bad
So why do I feel so sad

I Shouldn't … but, I do.
I like the way you look at me,
Every time you look at me...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I like the way you talk to me,
When you say the things you shouldn't be...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I liked the feeling of your company,
When you'd carve out some time for me...
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I like the sound of your voice,
Pulling at me, like I have no choice,
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
Thoughts of you are frequent for me,
Though, I try not to think of you.
I shouldn't
But I do
I shouldn't
But I do.
I can't help that I feel this way,
Believe me, it's much to my dismay,
There wasn't
But,
NOW
There is a
YOU...
If you only knew,
How much I try,
How often I fail..
When I try
To try
Not to think of
YOU.

Naughty Girl
It's after 12
Can't face the day
Remind me just how hard it can be
To forget
I said things I didn't mean
You saw things you shouldn't have seen
Been a naughty girl
Real bad so and so
Done too many things a girl shouldn't know
I swear I never knew
I could hurt you so
One too many things a girl shouldn't know
Can't take the sadness
From your eyes
Can't put the truth back in my lies
Oh whoa
Don't make me try and explain
Let's just start over again
Been a naughty girl
Real bad so and so
Done too many things a girl shouldn't know
I swear I never knew
I could hurt you so
One too many things a girl shouldn't know
The more you try to stay
The more I let you go
Done too many things a girl shouldn't know
I swear I never knew
I could hurt you so
One too many things a girl shouldn't know
Won't stop and try to turn the clock back
I won't beg - I'm no good at that
Too late to start and act like a saint
Can't be something that I ain't
Been a naughty girl
Real bad so and so
Done too many things a girl shouldn't know
I swear I never knew
I could hurt you so
One too many things a girl shouldn't know
The more you try to stay
The more I let you go
From one too many things a girl shouldn't know
I swear I never knew
I could hurt you so

God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
Do you know what you want? You don't know for sure
You don't feel right, you can't find a cure
And you're gettin' less than what you're lookin' for
You don't have money or a fancy car
And you're tired of wishin' on a falling star
You gotta put your faith in a loud guitar
Chorus:
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone (oh yeah)
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
"Now listen"
If you wanna be a singer, or play guitar
Man, you gotta sweat or you won't get far
Cause it's never too late to work nine-to-five
You can take a stand, or you can compromise
You can work real hard or just fantasize
But you don't start livin' till you realize - "I gotta tell ya!"
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
(Instrumental break)
God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, saved rock and roll for everyone
Saved rock and roll
chorus repeats out...
"I know life sometimes can get tough! And I know life sometimes can be a
drag!
But people, we have been given a gift, we have been given a road
And that road's name is... Rock and Roll

School Day
School days
School days
Dear old golden rule days
Up in the morning and out to school
The teacher is teachin' the golden rule
American history and practical math
Studyin' hard and hopin' to pass
And workin' your fingers right down the bone
The guy behind you won't leave you alone
Ring ring goes the bell
The cook in the lunchroom ready to sell
You're lucky if you can find a seat
You're fortunate if you have time to eat
Back in the classroom open your books
The teacher don't know how mean she looks
Ha ha ha ha ha
Are you ready?
Soon as three o'clock rolls around
You finally lay your burden down
Throw down your books get out of your seat
And down the halls and into the street
Up to the corner and 'round the bend
Right to the juke joint you go in
Drop the coin right into the slot
You gotta hear somethin' that's really hot
With the one you love you're makin' romance
And all day long you've been wantin' to dance
Feelin' the music from head to toe
And round and round and round you go
Hail hail rock and roll
Deliver me from the days of old
Long live rock and roll
The beat of the drums loud and bold
Rock rock rock and roll
The feelin' is there, body and soul

A teacher who is just right
Have you had a teacher
That makes your heart glow
A teacher is wonderful
A teacher whom you feel honored to have
A teacher who you can laugh or cry with
A teacher whom you can love no matter what they do
A teacher who looks up to you when you don't know
A teacher who just seems to understand you
A teacher who you think about day and night
A teacher whom you pray for as you go to bed
A teacher who is there when need them to
Thoughts of them are always in your head
A teacher who shares with you there ups and downs
A teacher who is there for you in school
A teacher who you share all your smiles with replacing al your frowns

My son's Teacher
On this beautiful day
For all of a whole eight hours
My little boy I place
Dear Teacher, with trust in these hands of yours.
Teach him dear Teacher
The right way to grow
So when he is older
He will know the way he should go
By example, dear Teacher
In words that you say
By things that you do
Dear Teacher, show him the right way.
Graciousness let him see
And gracious words let him hear
Not the rude, the nasty
Keep belittling away from his ears.
Show him how firmness and love
Can difficult people or times gently handle
That screaming and beating
Become only a bully’s poor saddle.
I tell him dear Teacher
Solutions are thought
But the cane at school dear Teacher
Tells him by violence they are bought.
Dear Teacher of my little boy
Do please take care
To you he is one in a forty
To me he is one in a one, only!

Why I Went To The Foot
Was ever a maiden so worried?
I’ll admit I am partial to Jim,
For Jimmie has promised to wed me
When I’m old enough to wed him.
But then I love teacher, too, dearly,
She’s always so lovely to me,
And she’s pretty and kind and sweet-tempered,
And gentle as gentle can be.
I wouldn’t for worlds hurt Jim’s feelings,
For he never would like me again—
But there was my dearest, sweet teacher,
And I’d die if my words gave her pain.
'Two plus two equals what?' was the problem.
And I knew teacher thought it made 'four';
But Jimmie said 'six,' and maintained it
As long as he stood on the floor.
And I saw I must soon choose between them,
For I was the next in the line.
Should I side with my teacher or Jimmie?
What a sad situation was mine!
And just as my heart with that problem
Of friendship was so sorely vexed
I was called on to answer the other,
For teacher had said, sharply, 'Next!'
It was then that the brilliant thought struck me,
That by compromise I could contrive
To hurt neither teacher nor Jimmie,
And that’s how I came to say 'five.'

Poverty (song)
In the tune of the Boomtown Rats hit 'I Don't Like Mondays'.
The life seeps from the unfortunate,
Now it's time to help,
And some people thought they never had a chance,
We didn't give them chance to explain.
And they couldn't understand it,
We always thought they were doing fine,
And when we have our meals
They have to steal,
They can't stand the poverty, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them,
They cannot stand their whole lives in hell
Their whole lives hell.
(Gordon) Brown watches from his cosy home
Thinking of his latest plan,
While a man out THERE
Is so very SCARED
Living out his whole life in a dump,
And his dreams are stopped
When he sees the plot
To get rid of his landfill home
And when we have our meals
They have to steal
They don't know what to think, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh,
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them,
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
They cannot stand their whole lives in hell,
Their whole lives Hell, Hell, Hell,
Whole lives in hell.
As all the life seeps out of that poor man
We go and count our money pile
And now we’ll be going to the corner shop
While that man starts to choke on his own bile
Then the media babbles
Then the signal crackles
(Pretending that they care about them)
And when we have our meals
They have to steal
They can’t stand the poverty
And The life seeps from the unfortunate,
Now it's time to help,
And some people thought they never had a chance,
We didn't give them chance to explain.
And they couldn't understand it,
We always thought they were doing fine,
And when we have our meals
They have to steal,
They can't stand the poverty, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them,
Tell us why
We shouldn’t
Tell us why
We should
Tell us why
We shouldn’t help them
They cannot stand their whole lives in hell.
Tell us why we shouldn’t help them
The answer is….
We should help them.

Back to School
I can't believe it went by so fast
Now is time to go
Back to school
I'm not ready, but
I have to get through this
Another year
Filled with crazyness, funny, great, and rollercoaster ride
Time to get back to those books,
Lectures, meeting new teachers, and
Meeting new classmates
Seeing friends/or girlfriend/boyfriend
We haven't seen in while
I'm just ready for another year
Now is time to go
Back to school
This last thing I want to thing about
Why can't summer last forever
Well life goes in circle
Good things have to come too end eventually
Get ready to see school again
I hope I can remember where things are,
It been almost three months
Time to get through seven hours of schools
Even through I hate school I need it
Back to school
Once again with fun, excited, bored, happy and all kind emotions
You feel happen in everday of your life at school
Some of us will the butterflies, but as days go by
You be calm and get used to class, people, your teacher and school again
You be ok
Everday is brand new day
Don't stress out and take a deep breath
Have fun and enjoy
It goes by fast before you know its over
There so much memories you won't forget
Back to school

Raised On Rock
(words & music by mark james)
I remember as a child I used to hear
Music that they played lord with a feel
Some call it folk, some call it soul
People let me tell you it was rock and roll
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul
Every day when I got home I turned on my radio
Listening to the music that my idols made
I knew every single record the djs played
A honky tonk a hound dog, a johnny b. goode
Chain gang, love is strange, knock on wood
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul
I was born to love the beat I was made for rock and roll
I thought it was a fad, thought that it would pass
But the younger generation knew it would last
Times gone by, the beat goes on
But every time I hear it lord it takes me home
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul
Every day when I got home I turned on my radio
Mother played recordings of beethovens fifth
Mozarts sonatas down the classical liszt
My papa loved to listen to his country songs
While I was in the back room rockin on
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul
I was born to love the beat I was made for rock and roll
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul
I was born to love the beat I was made for rock and roll
I was raised on rock, I got rhythm in my soul

Rock 'N Roll Soul (Live)
Rock & Roll Soul
Grand Funk Railroad
We're having a party, yeah, yeah, everybody's invited,
The new generation along with the old.
If you could get with it just a little more, it don't take much tryin',
You'll find out if you've got some rock & roll soul, baby.
Ain't everybody in the world. So when you know what you got, let everybody know,
You got some rock & roll soul.
So when you know what you got, let everybody know,
You got some rock & roll soul.
I know it when I'm feelin' groovy,
It's kind of funky like an old-time movie.
I can feel it and it's really something,
It's really something when my heart starts pumpin', yeah.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock 'n roll soul.

And On The 8th Day
The sky is fallin and the wheels of life are grindin out a brand new beat
The streets are burnin with the call of the wild, and I can feel the heat
Theyll call you names and spit in your face, but legends never die
Just pick up your guitar, on your knees and pray and hold your head up high
And on the 8th day God created rock and roll
On the 8th day God created rock and roll
Out of the ashes came the dawn and the shape of things to come
Never surrender, just carry on, straight to kingdom come
You sold your soul and virginity, ya cant rape a heart of gold
Yes youre born to rule, its destiny, now it can be told
Chorus:
And on the 8th day God created rock and roll (rock and roll)
And on the 8th day God created rock and roll
And on the 8th day God created rock and roll (rock and roll)
And on the 8th day God created rock and roll
Rock of ages carry the news to the heart of a brave new world
Feel the noise in the name of rock, let the heavens roar
Chorus repeats out...

Rock Roll Soul
Were having a party, yeah, yeah, everybodys invited,
The new generation along with the old.
If you could get with it just a little more, it dont take much tryin,
Youll find out if youve got some rock & roll soul, baby.
Aint everybody in the world. so when you know what you got, let everybody know,
You got some rock & roll soul.
So when you know what you got, let everybody know,
You got some rock & roll soul.
I know it when Im feelin groovy,
Its kind of funky like an old-time movie.
I can feel it and its really something,
Its really something when my heart starts pumpin, yeah.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n roll soul.
