Your Love And Pure Integrity Is Not In Dispute, Lord (Cavatina Sequence)

Your love and pure integrity is not
in dispute, Lord,
yet my enemies grow in their power,
in Your record
their evil ways constantly do prosper,
they can afford
great mansions are quite happy in their sin
while there is no place for me to be in.
Even if You were not my dearest friend,
I am not free
from trepidation, from Your punishment,
tranquillity,
avoids me, destruction follow in my steps;
iniquity
is with them that do wreck my livelihood,
while constantly I do only mean good.
Let the great harvest come while I tell some
of Your kindness,

A Mystery Tour
I went to see a friend
who lives about fifty miles away.
My sense of direction being what it is,
I took a wrong turn
and went on a mystery tour.
I found some interesting places
as I was trying to find my way.

When I joined the ranks of poets
At PH a few months hence
I found a group of people
Whom I now consider friends
Though, as a poet, I suspect,
I’ll ne'er be thought renowned
Still I love to show my work
Where it’s seen the world around
This site has been a boon to me,
Writing more than I used to,
And I think, by reading other bards
My own work’s been improved
I see this site as a privilege
And, one not to be abused
When angry tensions oft arise
It leaves me quite confused
Each item I submit in verse
Though meaningful to me
I suspect that, not, to all who read
Twill be their cup of tea
At times, much better poets
Than I, their work, submit
And even though, I know it’s great
I just can’t “get into” it
But if, alas, I take offense
At values, different than my own
I, simply, note the poet’s name

Should offend enough, on site

Love’s Flow
Entering into love
is entering into uncharted ground.
Sometimes it makes you sing
and other times it makes you frown.
Love can make us soar through the air
where the little birdies sing.
At other times,
it can rub our noses in the ground
where the worms crawl around.
