One Night in Downtown Flushing
The gates of hell were opened wide
and beckoned me within.
Alas I can’t read all the signs
Because my name’s not “Chin”
I wandered through emporiums
Overwhelmed by sights and sound
If you would like a duck or goat
I’m sure one could be found.
Bubble tea and sushi bars
Compete here cheek and jowl
And from the Karaoke bar
One hears a drunkard howl.
A slightly built masseuse then smiled
And gestured me come in
But they’d be no “Happy Ending” there
Because that “she”’s a “him”
I wandered dazzled and confused
And doubts arose a pace
Is this not Roosevelt Avenue?
Has Flushing been erased?

William Blake
He came to the desert of London town
Gray miles long;
He wandered up and he wandered down,
Singing a quiet song.
He came to the desert of London town,
Mirk miles broad;
He wandered up and he wandered down,
Ever alone with God.
There were thousands and thousands of human kind
In this desert of brick and stone;
But some were deaf and some were blind,
And he was there alone.
At length the good hour came; he died
As he had lived, alone.
He was not missed from the desert wide;
Perhaps he was found at the throne.

Hopeless Bleak Despair
I never knew what everybody meant by endless, hopeless bleak despair
Until one day when I found out
The first time I ever left my house
It saw me and followed me home
And stayed with me for my whole life
For years and years I wandered the earth
Condemned to a life of bleak despair
Then one day I looked around and found
It had disappeared
All this bleak despair
It was always there
And then one day it disappeared
In a puff of smoke
In an unceremonious way
One day it disappeared
All I had ever wanted in my life was only to be free of it
It drove away my family
It made me lose my job
Whenever anybody saw it
Theyd say get out of here
For years and years I wandered the earth
Sick of my life, looking forward to death
The one day I looked around and found
It had disappeared
All this bleak despair
It was always there
And then one day it disappeared
In a puff of smoke
In an unceremonious way
One day it disappeared
For years and years I wandered the earth
Until I died and went to hell but my
Despair had ascended to heaven
Thats how I finally got rid of it

Seven Doors Hotel
Fourhundred years back in this time
Seven doors hotel
A massacre took place and a young man
Died opened one gate to hell
The eibon is open use your eyes
To read and learn
In the end it could be your turn
1981 traces were found
That could not exist in ones mind
A woman could lead you
Totally deceive you without your knowing shes blind
Seven doors hotel
One of seven gates to hell
Seven doors hote
L one of seven gates to hell
Do always watch out for things
That you see but dont understand
The devil is there always somewhere
Ready to command

Ambition
They brought the mighty chief to town;
They showed him strange, unwonted sights;
Yet as he wandered up and down,
He seemed to scorn their vain delights.
His face was grim, his eye lacked fire,
As one who mourns a glory dead;
And when they sought his heart's desire:
"Me like'um tooth same gold," he said.
A dental place they quickly found.
He neither moaned nor moved his head.
They pulled his teeth so white and sound;
They put in teeth of gold instead.
Oh, never saw I man so gay!
His very being seemed to swell:
"Ha! ha!" he cried, "Now Injun say
Me heap big chief, me look like hell."

Cheek To Cheek
Two tigers wandered to and fro,
Like restless tigers do,
Until they chose to take things slow
Just like the chosen few...
Let others pounce and leap for joy,
Explore for all they're worth,
But these two tigers played it coy
And settled on the earth...
Thus side-by-side and cheek-to-cheek
They nestled 'neath the sun,
Content merely to pause and peek
At others having fun...
As if to say, 'You go for it!
We'll stay here keeping guard...
Conserve your strength, keep fighting fit,
Just don't you play too hard! '
While others every joy embrace
As if Hell-bent on thrills,
Some tigers simply spend their days,
Like statues watching hills...
They look like bookends on the shelves,
Now rooted to the spot!
Wise tigers learn to pace themselves!
That sun is too darned hot!

I Wandered Lonely
I wandered lonely
wherever I did go
never knowing
which way my life would flow.
I wandered lonely
with each day
never knowing
where my life would stay
I wandered lonely
without love
always waiting
for the sign from above.

The Maiden On The Shore
She wandered so young on the shore around,
Her thoughts were by naught on earth now bound.
Soon came there a painter, his art he plied
Above the tide,
In shadow wide,-
He painted the shore and herself beside.
More slowly she wandered near him around,
Her thoughts by a single thing were bound.
And this was his picture wherein he drew
Herself so true,
Herself so true,
Reflected in ocean with heaven's blue.
All driven and drawn far and wide around
Her thoughts now by everything were bound.
Far over the ocean,-and yet most dear
The shore right here,
The man so near,
Did ever the sunshine so bright appear!

Duck
It is a white duck
During the rains a band of ducks afloat
against the cloud laden skies
only remind of the duck
The duck that wings unseen in the morning
and in the night
carrying the sunbeams and moonbeams
in its roseate beaks
The duck that lives on light
The duck that is the mount of Knowledge and Wisdom
Knowledge and wisdom always fights with one another
But when they ride the duck
they hold each other with loving arms
Or else they might fall from the shoulders of the duck
and break into pieces
In that case no one will be able to bring the pieces together

A Royal Flush!
The ‘Assuies’ are levying a tax on water output, so called the ‘flushing tax’,
Some are not flushing as much do reduce their water bill,
Some are going “outside” in their outback, if you will,
In this world wide economic slow down you can’t be lax.
Some businesses are getting to point of developing ‘waterless toilets’,
The composting toilets are great for saving water and money,
They come in a variety of styles and you have much to gain,
With the average household flushing up to 35,000 litres of potable water down the drain each year,
Ecoflo waterless toilets will save you from flushing water and money down the drain.
This is about as good as it gets,
I hope that this will not lead banning of the term flushing,
Because where will the USTA US Open be played?
In Compost Meadows?
That doesn’t sound right.

Evil Being
All evil things started off as innoccent happy creatures
They wandered down the wrong path and were so bad they were rejected by preechers
They continued down the wrong path and their soul met the grim reaper's
Now they are evil spirits who cause trouble and havoc
This unearthly being
That poor soul, isn't so poor anymore
Now they cause blood and gore
They get into your heads until you cant take anymore
Cowards who have wandered to the path of evil
Take control and send these demonic creatures back to hell
Let them go down there and see if they rebel
Soar above them like a golden eagle
Get rid of them - you don't need them
Stab a stake in his heart and then depart
Live you're life and forget them, they're just evil beings.

5th Avenue
Written by gerry beckley, 1984
Found on perspective.
Walking down 5th avenue
I saw him walking there with you
People see and people talk
Word travels fast round my block
Might just save you the price of writing
I could save you an hour or two
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Dont know what to ask of you
My mind is gettin so confused
Even when I really try
Keeps sounding like Im saying goodbye
Somewhere deep in my heart Im hurtin
cause I keep on remembering you
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
How many times must I look up and say
What kind of fool am i
But I cant turn my back on the times that we shared
No matter how I try
Walking down 5th avenue
Cant seem to shake the thought of you
Even in the dark of night
Your memories of shining light
Though Im tryin to change direction
I pray what I saw aint true
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
Do, do, do, do ...

Confused
I am confused with love and fear.
I am confused with the taste of my tear.
I am confused of where I'll go.
I am confused of what I'll know.
I am confused of whos my family.
I am confused of what makes me happy.
I am confused by what I do.
I am confused of what's true.
I am confused by your touch.
I am confused oh so much.

Sculpting Krishna (2)
His parents guarded the temple,
answered questions; the child
wandered, looked, later read
all that was said;
now, he selects the stone,
listening all the time, hoping that
he hears the voice of Krishna say,
take this piece…
sharpens his chisel; prays;
with each tap, a chiselled prayer
rings out the question; magnified; or diminished?
chips away – outside himself, inside himself –
all that is not Krishna;
until finally, all that awaits
is the faintest sound of flute, of lightest laughter,
heard within the sculptor’s inner ear:
stone pretending to be Krishna;
Krishna, pretending to be stone.

A Bubble In My Heart...!
There's a bubble in my heart
A bubble that floats
Like it is made out of soap
There's a bubble in my heart
A bubble that dance
Like it is riding on the breeze
A bubble a bubble in my heart
A bubble a bubble that fills my heart
There's a bubble in my heart
A bubble that sings
Like it knows how to sing
There's a bubble in my heart
A bubble that roams
Out of my heart in to the storms
A bubble a bubble in my heart
A bubble a bubble that fills my heart
There's a bubble in my heart
Baby can you see that
Yeah the bubble in my heart
There's a bubble in my heart
A bubble that shines
Much more than sunshine
A bubble a bubble in my heart
Yeah baby, there is a bubble, a bubble in my heart....!

Village Marriage Day
With a long fine cloud
She wandered slowly away
Across the yellow mouth of morning
Through another gate-head
Where the withered maize-stems made
Leaves for folded dolls.
The backyard
Should be smeared this year.
She approaches her father
His hands bloodstained
The goat’s head laid back
On its tenuous link to the body.
She looks at the goat
Turns over the night of love
Her sleek tilted head remembers
The other art of marriage
For which he said she must prepare.

Never Diminished
At no time have my eyes ever wandered too far,
To stray from that which I wished and wanted.
I may have experimented to walk on different paths,
But the task and the doing...
Never once did I think too difficult to do.
And making a fool of myself,
Was the least of my concern.
When on my knees to be made to feel discouraged,
I used my tears to bring me to my feet.
Defeat was not an option I easily accepted.
At no time have my eyes ever wandered too far,
To stray from that which I wished and wanted.
And time to accomplish my deeds?
I had to leave behind with those who were there,
With offerings of their critique and doubts to limit.
Although my desire and motivation kept me fed,
Knowing it was my dream to hunger.
My dream to touch no matter if unfinished.
My dream to taste and savor with a flavor,
I knew too well that could never be diminished.
Since I was born to do what it is I do to see done!

Love Amidst Squalor
He opened his eyes
And saw the squalor around,
Glistened his eyelids,
He shed it without a sound.
For months he was afloat
In the dark warm bay,
Waiting to arrive here
To live love and play!
She smiled as he cried,
Happy to see him land,
Life squirted from her bosom,
She could die just for his hand.
Yet as he opened his eyes
He saw only squalor around,
Her love couldn't hold him back,
His eyes closed without a sound!

Duck & Run
To this world Im unimportant just
Because I have nothing to give
So you call this your free country
Tell me why it cost so much to live
Tell me why
This world can turn me down
But I wont turn away, oh no
And I wont turn around
All my work and endless measures
Never seem to get me very far
Walk a mile just to move an inch
Now even though Im trying so
Damn hard
Im trying so hard
This world can turn me down but i
Wont turn away
And I wont duck and run, cause
Im not built that way
When everything is gone there is
Nothing there to fear
This world cannot bring me down
No cause Im already here, oh no!
I am already here, down
On my knees
I am already here, on no, I am
Already here
I must have told you a thousand
Times I am not running away
I wont duck and run
I wont duck and run
I wont duck and run
No, no pass away
This world can turn me down but i
Wont turn away
And I wont duck and run, cause
Im not built that way
When everything is gone there is
Nothing there to fear
This world cannot bring me down
No cause Im already here
This world can turn me down
But I wont turn away
And I wont duck away
Cause Im not built that way
When everything is gone there
Is nothing there to fear
This world cannot
Bring me down
No cause Im already here
