Woman Kind
The woman kind,
Mysteries of the female mind,
I'm just a guy,
Simple and strong,
But always wrong,
When we fuss and fight,
Step into the light,
And you'll see I'm right,
write I will,
Until,
My point is made,
Paid,
In full,
My debt to women.

Sorry
Into each life there comes a time
When you must pay your lovers dues
Breakin out in a cold sweat
Cause youve been rightfully accused
Im not such a strong man
That love cant make me weak
Youre walkin out the door
And its hurting me so deep, so deep
And Im sorry
Sorry that I made you cry
Sorry, sorry that I told you lies
Im sorry, sorry the way we fuss and fight
Im sorry, sorry cause now youre
Saying goodbye to me
Every young boy will grow up
To then become a man
Then the difference from wrong and right
He clearly understands
Im not such a big man
That I cant break down in tears
Cause my whole body went into shock
When you told me you were out of here! out of here!
And Im sorry
Sorry that I made you cry
Sorry, sorry that I told you lies
Im sorry, sorry the way we fuss and fight
Im sorry, sorry cause now youre saying
Goodbye to me, to me
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, that I ever made you cry
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, that I ever told you lies
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, sorry the way we fuss and fight
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, so sorry
If you added up all the good times
And compared them with the bad
Youd realize that our love
Was the best you ever had
Im not such a proud man
That I wont cop a plea
See me baby girl, Im on my knees
Beggin please, baby please, baby please, oh yeah
Im sorry, sorry that I made you cry
Sorry, sorry that I told you lies
Im sorry, Im sorry the way we fuss and fight
Im sorry, sorry cause now youre
Saying goodbye to me, me baby, me baby, me baby
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, that I ever told you lies
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, that I ever made you cry
Im sorry baby, that I ever did it to you
Im sorry baby, sorry the way we fuss and fight
Im sorry, Im sorry, Im sorry, sorry, sorry,
Sorry, sorry (repeat)

Emily asks me write a poem about women
It must be about women
How they are strong
And selfless
And self-giving
Self sufficient
Free
Principled
She is that woman
She must write that herself
She can always do it.
To me strong women
Are not written
They are not for writing
They are made
Self-made in fact
They do not ask me to write about them

She's Determined and a Strong Willed Woman
When her mind's made up,
She doesn't fuss...
Or cry!
She's not the kind to mope around,
Or one to criticize.
With eyes that sigh.
She's not one weak who weeps.
She stands on her own two feet,
And defies,
Anyone who tries...
To fault the way she gets by.
She's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
She is determined and a strong willed woman...
Who knows what she does when it's done.
She's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
And there to sleep with me at night.
She's not one weak who weeps.
She stands on her own two feet,
And defies,
Anyone who tries...
To fault the way she gets by.
She's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
Yes she's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
And there to sleep with me at night.
When her mind's made up,
She doesn't fuss...
Or cry!
And defies,
Anyone who tries...
To fault the way she gets by.
She is determined and a strong willed woman...
Who knows what she does when it's done.
She's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
And there to sleep with me at night.
She's determined and a strong willed woman.
And I like it that she's on my side.
She is determined and a strong willed woman...
And defies,
Anyone who tries...
To fault the way she gets by.
She is determined and a strong willed woman...
And defies,
Anyone who tries...
To fault the way she gets by.

Women's Intuition
My women's Intuition gives me this sneaking suspicion
that the truth is really different from this story you're presenting
My Women's Intuition says something has changed
Something's very strange and I can't decide who's to blame
My Woman's Intuition keeps me up late at night
makes me wonder if its right if its even worth the fight
My Women's Intuition tells me somethings going down
Notices you're not around Catches every whispered sound
My Woman's Intuition is driving me crazy
Has me wondering 'maybe' What's been going on lately?
My Woman's Intuition puts these bugs in my ear
'Why isn't he here? ' 'Does he still even care? '
My Woman's Intuition senses something's wrong
Has known it all along Seems to be quite strong
My Woman's Intuition continues to bring it up
Wants to know what's up Made me look it up
My Woman's Intution saw every message you sent
Followed every where you went Tracked every minute you spent
My woman's Intuition took note of where you've been
Thinks it's time for this to end Doesn't want to be your friend

Over Now
Good night...
Yeah, its over now, but I can breathe somehow
When its all worn out, Id rather go without
You know its been on my mind
Could you stand right there
Look me straight in the eye and say
That its over now
We pay our debt sometime
Well its over now, yet I can see somehow
When its all gone wrong, its hard to be so strong
You know its been on my mind
Could you stand right there
Look me straight in the eye and say
That its over now
We pay our debt sometime
Yeah, we pay our debt sometime
We pay our debt sometime
Yeah, we pay our debt sometime
Guess its over now, I seem alive somehow
When its out of sight, just wait and do your time
You know its been on my mind
Could I stand right here
Look myself in the eye and say
That its over now
We pay our debt sometime
Yeah, we pay our debt sometime
We pay our debt sometime
Yeah, we pay our debt sometime

Woman Thou art Free
To be a woman there are certain characteristics that you embody
That set you apart, ain't nothing like a strong woman with a good heart.
Some say they curse the day God made woman, but only God understand that he created it
for us to see the good and the bad, life for some without a woman is really sad.
The woman was made to feel the pain and the man to work the land.
But in everything God had a plan.
Women have come a long way from the kitchen to the runway.
Women have broken down all barriers,
and have proven to be able to compete at all levels, so much that it marvels.
Women's long battle for equality and right have gotten them to unite.
Their strength and unity have given them the courage to embrace every opportunity
under the social and economical horizon;
they are now prospering over the men in the dozens.
They now take full advantage for all the times they've been denied passage.
Women have become leaders, more than conquerors,
strong educators, powerful motivators and labourers.
Yet women have not forgotten their role in the home, though some are not full-time.
A little independence is not a crime. But still they are able to make the house a home,
put food on the table, keep their lives stable
for at the end of the day, at home is where their hearts will always stay
so we thank God for Women's Day.

Tea And Scones
I didn't think women made scones
any more.
People still have tea and scones!
Home baking and scones
are memories remembered...
from the earliest childhood years...
when family was primary
and the housewife's role, was esteemed honoured.
What is wrong with being a mother first?
What is wrong with putting your children first?
What is wrong with providing, a loving caring, nurturing home?
What is wrong with giving, an abundance, of love and security?
What is wrong with putting husband, children and home first,
so that family life and family, will be strong and thrive?
A woman of determination and ability will still work.
A woman of determination and ability will still triumph.
She will still achieve, a productive rewarding, successful career.
She may still rise, to the top, dominate any profession her abilities;
dedication, education, personality, management skills; training allow.
Few men, will achieve any better, most will achieve far less.
A man, a true partner, can will, also be a house husband.
A man, can will, also sacrifice, for the career of his partner.
Society, including women, still predominantly, frown on this?
I didn't think women made scones
any more.
People still have tea and scones!
I thought the feminist's philosophy
had driven most women...
forever out of the kitchen and sadly
a few into emulating the worst...
kind of ruthless; misguided
male clone type; exploiting women...
or into brand lesbianism,
forever espousing, rights of women...
forgetting love for fathers
forgetting love for brothers sons...
forgetting a strong family equality practices
strong societies like families safeguard female liberties rights...

In The Mind Of A Woman
In the mind of a woman a mother you'll find
For women are loving and caring and kind
The mothering instincts to women belong
Than men less aggressive and more mentally strong,
The men celebrate when the battle is won
But the mother is left for to grieve for her son
She did not raise her son for to be sent afar
For to fight and to die in another man's war
In patriarchal societies deprived of renown
By arrogant males women are still kept down
The mother, the lover, the devoted wife
Without women there would not be human life
The males do compete for the chief of the clan
But it does take a woman for to raise the man.

Remembering Grandpa
grandpa was strict
i remember
for a Red Cross Donation
that i asked from him
and which he considers
as my debt
he did not forget
to remind me and
thus collect
i was then 12 and he
was 60
i was disappointed but
he did not mind
a debt is a debt and must
be paid
the years may have buried
him for good
but the memory of a debt
paid still lingers
the numbers are clear
as always
some words may have faded
but the feeling
sticks like a scar
in my face....

Trouser Enthusiast
Feminism is my middle name,
For I fight for the right for female empowerment,
I don't like women being treated like second class citizens,
I want all women to have equal opportunities,
To live in the same community with the same rights,
I am glad women have the vote,
That there're female doctors, nurses, lawyers and the suchlike,
For I am a trouser enthusiast through and through,
But I am not butch, although I do wear lipstick,
For women shouldn't have to look like a girl,
Talk like a man and think like a woman,
Women should not have to change into something they're not,
But feminism has taken charge for the century just gone,
Women fighting for their social freedom and not allowing themselves,
To be treated like a sex object, for a woman isn't just a body:
A woman has a brain and deserves to be treated with respect,
Not to be treated in an inferior way,
And women have learnt to wear the trousers in the relationship,
And don't accept or tolerate abuse and won't allow themselves to be used,
For this is derogatory and the lowest of the low,
And all women, young and old, need to know,
That they deserve respect in any relationship and any violent man,
Needs to be kicked to the kerb and shown the door.

what I see...
when i look in the mirror
what do i see?
see a young women trying to find the right path
a young women trying to do whats best for us
the daughter that was never planned but yet brought so much happiness.
u can tell the girl standing in front of the mirror has been through so much
so much it made her the person who she is today...
a strong hearted women who can get through anything if she put her all into it.
but behind that strong women, is a women who isn't as strong as she thought.
a women who quits when things get ruff,
a women who is afraid of change,
afraid of doing the wrong things
afraid of losing the ones that mean the most
when i look into the mirror,
what do i see?
see a young women who is willing to do whats right.
willing to take that next step
willing to start the future over and have a new begining.
see a young women
who is finally letting the past not get the best of her
and moving forward.

You ARE A Woman :)
You are a woman,
A strong woman,
A grown woman,
One who WON'T give me what I want just cause I want it woman.
He needs you woman,
A loving woman,
Non-trusting woman,
One who knows the difference between right and wrong woman.
I found a woman,
You're one of em,
So many love em,
You just need to see the places you can be woman.
Hear me woman,
Don't fear me woman,
You're near me woman,
We all face strife, gotta change yo life woman.
See me woman,
No fake or frontin,
Can't be me woman,
For I am a man and you need to be a WOMAN!

Two Of A Kind, Workin On A Full House
Yes, shes my lady luck
Hey, Im her wild card man
Together were buildin up a real hot hand
We live out in the country
Hey, shes my little queen of the south
Yea, were two of a kind
Workin on a full house.
She wakes me every mornin
With a smile and a kiss
Her strong country lovin is hard to resist
Shes my easy lovin woman
Im her hard-workin man, no doubt
Yea, were two of a kind
Workin on a full house .
Yea, a pickup truck is her limousine
And her favorite dress is her faded blue jeans
She loves me tender when the goin gets tough
Somtimes we fight just so we can make up.
Lord I need that little woman
Like the crops need the rain
Shes my honeycomb and Im her sugar cane
We really fit together
If you know what Im talkin about
Yea, were two of a kind
Workin on a full house.
This time I found a keeper, I made up my mind
Lord the perfect combination is her heart and mine
The skys the limit, no hill is too steep
Were playin for fun, but were playin for keeps.
So draw the curtain, honey
Turn the lights down low
Well find some country music on the radio
Im yours and youre mine
Hey, thats what its all about
Yea, were two of a kind
Workin on a full house.
Lordy, mama, well be two of a kind
Workin on a full house.

Protagonist
A woman of her nature…
What is that…
Who is that…
Why is that…
Kind …and respect is due…
Loveable…and respect is over due…
Mother…and disrespected…
Lover…and confused…
Daughter and misunderstood…
Sister and forgotten…
Friend and the phone never rings…
So many women…
So many men…
Are abusing each other…
To each other they forget…
The male, female protocol…
Men have lost there balls…
Women don’t think to call…
Let men know…
SHE is his queen…
SHE is his gift…
SHE is woman…
God’s special creation…
Male and female…
Wake up…
Respect one another…
There is nothing else.

Ancestral Woman
I was never child
My maternal granny called me an old, old soul
I seen time come and go
I gave birth to giving birth
Ain’t nothin I don’t know
The sun is my shade I pull it down to allow darkness and light
To give birth to the same day, the eternal now
Then, you ask me, as woman
Then, you ask me, as a colored woman
Then, you ask me, as a female
Then, you ask me, as a black female
Then, you ask me, as a Mother
Then, you ask me, as the epitome of androgeny
What is my contribution, evolution ain’t as old
I been in the grave, beyond the grave
I been the grave, I had to brave the newness of oldness
I remember when silence was communication
Being blind the revelation
Not knowing the greatest education
Nothingness the only information
I am the past, my innateness the futre
My being the immediate now
I am the ancient androgenous embryo
I render gender apropos
I survived domestice violence and sexual abuse
Being told I am of no use
Cause I won’t accept yo validation
As my self-reaization
Then, you ask me, as a woman
Then, you ask me, as a colored woman
Then, you ask me, as a female
Then, you ask me, as a black female
Then, you ask me, as a Mother
Then, you ask me, as the epitome of androgeny
What is my contribution, evolution ain’t as old
I been the grave, beyond the grave
I been the grave, I had to brave the newness of oldness
How does it feel being a Woman
It feels like
I Am all, in all, sustain all, absolutely independent of all
My power never diminishes
Life never starts, never finishes
I come from The Woman we are
She is the ultimate extended family
There is only One Woman
She is the innate evidence exuding all women
My very composition is memories of being other women
I am made of every Woman
Then again, so is existence
I Am The Temple minus the veil
I, Am still waiting to exhale
Then, you ask me, as a woman
Then, you ask me, as a colored woman
Then, you ask me, as a female
Then, you ask me, as a black female
Then, you ask me, as a Mother
Then, you ask me, as the epitome of androgeny
What is my contribution, evolution ain’t as old
I been in the grave, beyond the grave, I been the grave
I had to brave the newness of oldness
Then, you ask me what, is my contribution

Curious
Welcome to the great unknown
Take a journey into the O zone
Feed your fire, feel the burn
And I'm learning the thing that you learn
Let's play the game
And I'm sure that you'll be so glad that you came
You never know till you let go
And discover your potential
There's nothing wrong with being curious
Adventurous
Step out of your mind
If something inside makes you curious
Then free it up
Initiation begins
When you jump right in
This is the end, let's begin
Lose your fear like you're shedding your skin
Nothing's lost when all is won
So I'm do all the things that you done
Feel the sound
And try to write a simple rhyme of spinning round
Before I leave, you ought to know
The more you scream, the faster that you go
There's nothing wrong with being curious
Adventurous
Step out of your mind
If something inside makes you curious
Then free it up
Initiation begins
Free up your inside
You're gonna like what you will find
You're never gonna know until you try
There's nothing wrong with being curious
Adventurous
Step out of your mind
If something inside makes you curious
Then free it up
Initiation begins
There's nothing wrong with being curious
Adventurous
Step out of your mind
If something inside makes you curious
Then free it up
Initiation begins
When you jump right in
There's nothing wrong with being curious
Adventurous
Step out of your mind
If something inside makes you curious
Then free it up
Initiation begins
When you jump right in

Soroptimist International
I have found friends, friends who care,
They live the whole world over.
Women who love life,
Women who are strong,
Women who help women,
Empower, empower, empower.
As a young woman, I needed
Help, encouragement and to be empowed.
I was struggling as a single mom
Working full time and oh so tired
With two children by the hand - when
The Soroptimist Training Award
Chosen, I was chosen, It was mine.
The next semester courses were paid for
With the help I received, no longer did I worry for
I completed my diploma and onward to my goal!
Working hard in social service agencies
Helping others as I could
Finally the day arrived when a Ph.D. was mine.
Thirteen years in private family counselling
Children grown and doing well
I returned to the place where it all started
To Soroptimists and I must tell -
The story of my award and the life it brought to me
Through kind and loving women
Who care when it seems there is no sign.
I am excited with each step
As I learn and go forward
Women teaching women and
Women helping women
It is my time to give
My time to empower women with
An organization I believe in.
To take on the challenges of life
Domestic violence and trafficking
So demoralizing to women and their children
Public education, important as it is
Educate all who will listen to the stats and stories told.
We all know of the hardships women endure
So, give, empower, teach, and train.
Women helping women-
Soroptimists, Soroptimists, Hurray for Soroptimists!

Simple Kind Of Life
For a long time I was in love
Not only in love, I was obsessed
With a friendship that no one else could touch
It didnt work out, Im covered in shells
And all I wanted was a simple thing
A simple kind of life
And all I needed was a simple man
So I could be a wife
Im so ashamed, Ive been so mean
I dont know how it got to this point
Ooh I always was the one with all the love
But you came along, Im hunting you down
Like a sick domestic abuser lookin for a fight
And all I wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life
Oh if we met tomorrow for the very first time
Would it start all over again?
Would I try to make you mine?
I always thought Id be a mom
Sometimes I wish for a mistake
The longer that I wait the more selfish that I get
You seem like youd be a good dad
Now all the simple things are simply too complicated for my life
Howd I get so faithful to my freedom? a selfish kind of life
When all I ever wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life
