Magpie

The magpie's mood is never surly
every morning, wakening early,
he gargles music in his throat,
the liquid squabble of his throat.

Its silver stridencies of sound,
the bright confusions and the round
bell-cadences are pealed
over the frosty, half-ploughed field.

Then swooping down self confidently
from the fence-post or the tree,
he swaggers in pied feather coat,
and slips the fat worms down his throat.

Words Get Stuck In My Throat

If I had a tiny microphone
Hidden in my heart
It would amplify my love for you
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat
If I had a little viewmaster
Stuck inside my brain
It would snap the pictures all of you.
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat
If I had a telegraph
Tapping in my brain
It would tap the morse code I love you.
But the words get stuck in my throat
The words get stuck in my throat
Hey, hey, hey
Whatd I say?
Everyday!
The words get stuck in my throat (repeating)

Each Others Throat

We are supposed to be sisters and brothers
But all we do is constantly dog one another
We are supposed to act as each others cover
But we keep at each others throat
Each others throat
Each others throat
Yo, it aint no joke
Were at each others throat -aowl, aowl
We are supposed to spread love and not evil
But weve been acting more like heathens than people
Treating our fellow-man far worse than illegal
Cause we keep at each others throat
Each others throat
Each others throat
Yo, it aint no joke
Were at each others throat -aowl, aowl
Ut oh, 11 oclock pm and heres the news
Another fatality caused by a family feud
Charged, tried, sentenced by the jury of a brothers gun
Made sisters fiancees wedding never to be sung
He didnt like the way he treated the girl
So the boy played god, pow, he ended his world
He made a plea for temporary insanity
But left his sister insane permanently
This aint new, this stuff happens everyday
Somebody doesnt like someone so they blow them away
Too fast for reason, too quick to negotiate
Regret and sorrow happens a split second too late
Jealousy for power, greed for possession
Selfishness so you give someone a faked out impression
Speaking of which Im truly not impressed
So if seeing is believin-i dont wanna see the mess
Heartless are we on the straight with no chaser
As if for negativity we got the vapors
Know as I love me so I do love my neighbor
Cause we are too busy at each others throat
Each others throat
Each others throat
Yo, it aint no joke
Were at each others throat -aowl, aowl
(repeat)

The Goat Crossing The Moat

The Capote is afloat beside the goat
Crossing the moat to read the note
And keep the quote in its throat

A tote does not vote that is what you wrote
So back to the rote eating the oat and
Smash the mote hidden on the boat

The seas bloat so you devote a bank note
For the seed coat of a wild oat
& scare quote for your strep throat
As Joseph's coat dote the eight note.

Comparison

THE sky of brightest gray seems dark
To one whose sky was ever white.
To one who never knew a spark,
Thro' all his life, of love or light,
The grayest cloud seems over-bright.
The robin sounds a beggar's note
Where one the nightingale has heard,
But he for whom no silver throat
Its liquid music ever stirred,
Deems robin still the sweetest bird.

A Flower To Auroville Mother 25

Kozhakkattai Mandarai(Yellow Orchid Tree, St. Thomas Tree, Yellow Bell,
Bauhinia tomentosa)

Very much unassuming an appearance..
Sometimes plain, sometimes black throated
Plausibly to threaten a disturbance
Insects, birds when circling hunger bloated

Mandarai, but your golden smile bright
As that of sun around, why do you then droop
Indicative, medicative for sore throat
Like Shiva your blackened throat, why then stoop

Ah, your bilobed leafy claps acknowledge
While humming granny grinding chutney of them
You are how much purposeful without wastage
How much useful you're adorable optimum

So, you're my pooja flower Mandarai
Right soul linking me spacewise
Soaring me to celestials to go by
So you're handy sure in every my utterance

Lost Voice

I pirouetted over quavers,
leapt over demi semi quavers,
sang arias to the opera,
cooed ballads to the radio.
From low to high, high to low,
liquid music leapt from my throat,
it cascaded down
like diamond rain drops in summer,
kisses from top C's, bathed me in happiness.
I let out emotions through music
just like a breeze,
with ecstasy, with delightful pleasure.
Now, my throat has closed,
the melodies, unreachable.
All I can do is listen
and even my hearing is not so sharp.
They tell you hearts are broken
from lost loves,
nights of passion gone too quickly and discarded.
My heart is broken by the music,
once so easy to my lips
and now impossible to reach.

If She Only Knew

Words and music by michelle branch
I dont know whose side Im takin,
But Im not takin things to well,
I can see inside youre achen,
But is it still too early for me to tell.
I try to help you out through the hardest of times,
Your heart is in your throat,
And Im speaking my mind,
Though it looks as if its over,
Im still not over you,
If only she knew.
I try to let it go
But I dont know if I can take it,
Cause the way you looked at me made me see
That I cant really fake it.
I try to help you out through the hardest of times,
Your heart is in your throat,
And Im speaking my mind,
Though it looks as if its over,
Im still not over you,
If only she knew.
I know she loves you and I cant interfere,
So Ill just have to sit back and watch my world disappear.
I try to help you out through the hardest of times,
Your heart is in your throat,
And Im speaking my mind,
Though it looks as if its over,
Im still not over you,
Oh Im still not over you,
If only she knew.

To Be Honest is To Slowly Kill Yourself

Slitting my throat
Listen to me as I choke
Being the fool again
Stop pretending
Why do you lust the one thing you can't have?
Why do I do the right things?
Honesty kills me
I lie on the inside
But on the outside, I'm always true
Slitting my throat
Listen to me as I choke
No holding back no more
The words will hit the floor
Please indulge in my sobriety
Pass it around
Let us stop being angry and violent men
Defend what we hold dear
Sacrifice everything for it
Slitting my throat
Listen to me choke
I'm damned as damned can be
The evil is all around me
It engulfs me
Forever in darkness
Under a moonlit sky
So again I ask why?
Time to step back an pray
Slitting my throat
Listen to me as I choke
This is something I didn't need
It was from falling and hitting to many branches down an old oak tree
This is where it ends for me
Sorry its history and forever it will be

Epigrams

Oh, Castlereagh! thou art a patriot now;
Cato died for his country, so didst thou:
He perish'd rather than see Rome enslaved,
Thou cutt' st thy throat that Britain may be saved!
So Castlereagh has cut his throat!--The worst
Of this is, - that his own was not the first.
So He has cut his throat at last!--He! Who?
The man who cut his country's long ago.

Proud man can't sing well

proud man can't sing well
his heart is too high
his voice is in his throat
his throat will be choked in high pitch
makes him can not breathe well
and his body trembled in lower ground
his voice is not clear and honest
he sings because he is proud
bot because he likes the song or likes to sing
he sings not for everybody
he sings for his pride
his heart is in his throat
and his voice will choke his throat

Slit My throat

Tears are stained
against my cheeks
blood is gashed agaisnt the walls
all i have to say is slit my throat and lay me to sleep

I want out of this crule harsh world
everyone is mean to me
they hurt me
beat me
and make fun of me

Most of the time though
they end up hurting me
so as i cry out into the night
i want my last words to be
slit my throat and lay me to sleep

Lay me to sleep,
killme,
murder me,
do something, but if you do
slit my throat first
an lay me to sleep in a grave

Pleasure

Try to comprehend me
Before you tear the aorta
Stab with a knife...
...Once again
Cut throat does not compare
To the pleasure of raping a child
Following her,
I leered at her tiny boy
Watched her delicate moves
And that strange freshness
Now, she's just a dead,
Ripped corpse
...In the cut throat
I find my pleasure
Raping the child
You hatefully murder,
Then desecrate
My body
You should have
Done it before...
...Before you thought
Of revenge
I was molested
It doesn't matter now
Now it's blood
Now it's sperm
Cut throat,
Pleasure

Jericho

Tom Johnston
Windecor Music (BMI)
Well I'm standin' on top of the mountain
Just about a mile from Jericho.
And my throat is hot and dusty,
Down to the water I must go.
Catherine the Great and brave Ulysses
Playin' checkers out in the sun.
Jesse James and young William Bonnie
Have started a religion for everyone.
Well I'm standin' on top of the mountain
Just about a mile from Jericho.
And my throat is hot and dusty,
Down to the water I must go.
Well the drums they are loud down in rap town,
But the Pope has been quiet for days.
Well some gunmen robbed a bank in California
And the cops blew them all away.
If you don't like the picture don't turn it off.
The only way to change it is to do it yourself.
Well I'm standin' on top of the mountain
Just about a mile from Jericho.
And my throat is hot and dusty,
Down to the water I must go.
Peace and love on the wings of a dove
Has flown away.
We're payin' the rent
On the blood that's been spent,
On a mortgage that's too high to be paid.
Well I'm standin' on top of the mountain
Just about a mile from Jericho.
And my throat is hot and dusty,
Down to the water I must go.
Well I'm standin' on top of the mountain
Just about a mile from Jericho.
And my throat is hot and dusty,
Down to the water I must go.

Bega

FROM the clouded belfry calling,
Hear my soft ascending swells;
Hear my notes like swallows falling;
I am Bega, least of bells.
When great Turkeful rolls and rings
All the storm-touched turret swings,
Echoing battle, loud and long.
When great Tatwin wakening roars
To the far-off shining shores,
All the seamen know his song.
I am Bega, least of bells:
In my throat my message swells.
I with all the winds a-thrill,
Murmuring softly, murmuring still,
'God around me, God above me,
God to guard me, God to love me.'

I am Bega, least of bells,
Weaving wonder, wind-born spells.
High above the morning mist,
Wreathed in rose and amethyst,
Still the dreams of music float
Silver from my silver throat,
Whispering beauty, whispering peace.
When great Tatwin's golden voice
Bids the listening land rejoice,

When great Turkeful rings and rolls
Thunder down to trembling souls,
Then my notes like curlews flying,
Lifting, falling, sinking, sighing,
Softly answer, softly cease.
I with all the airs at play
Murmuring sweetly, murmuring say,
'God around me, God above me,
God to guard me, God to love me.'

Dont you leave me father time
Take me with you
Tell me does your sun still shine
Come squeeze the world and drip it down my throat...oh yeah
Down my throat again....woooah
You got to breathe man, breathe!
Coming up for air
Breathe man, breathe!
Coming up for air
Touch me so I think Im here
Skin my senses
Barely breathing
Minus human
Please squeeze the world and drip it down my throat again
Down my throat again.....woooah
You got to breathe man, breathe!

Go For The Throat

Words and music by rick nielsen
Don't call me baby
Don't call me your inspiration
Don't call me jealous
I don't need you
Don't try to use me
You can use your own imagination
Just a little bit of information before i leave you
You gotta go for the throat (you can use your own imagination)
You gotta do it alone (just a little bit of information)
I am what i am (you can use your own imagination)
When i go for the throat
Don't try to please me
You just give me idle conversation
Doesn't give me any indication or reason
Don't try to use me
You can use your own imagination
Must be some sort of explanation or reason
And i go for the throat (you just give me idle conversation)
And i do it alone (you can use your own imagination)
And i am what i am (must be some sort of explanation)
When i go for the throat
If i say it again would you listen to me
If i shout it this time
If i say it again would you listen to me
If i shout it this time
Get a grip on yourself try to do it in time
Gotta say to yourself
If i say it again would you listen to me
If i shout it this time
I can't stand it no more (you can use your own imagination)
I go for the throat (just a little bit of information)
I do it alone (you just give me idle conversation)
I am what i am (you can use your own imagination)
'cause i go for the throat (must be some sort of explanation)
I can't stand it no more (you can use your own imagination)
I am what i am (just a little bit of information)
I do it alone (you just give me idle conversation)
'cause i go for the throat (must be some sort of explanation)

The Best Day Of The Year

This morning very early I heard the magpie sing
And suddenly it dawned on me it's the first day of Spring
The dawning of September and on the stringybark
The white backed magpie whistled sweet music in the dark.

The first day of September the best day of the year
That is if you are living in the Southern Hemisphere
For Spring the Season of beauty and of greenery and youth
A time of bloom and grass growth when seedlings take to root

The Spring came in at midnight from places far away
She crept in through the darkness for her annual three months stay
And magpie he woke early on the stringybark tree
And for the welcome visitor piped his sweetest melody.

This morning very early before the dawn of day
The magpie welcomed the visitor from places far away
And the first day of September the best day of the year
That is if you are living in the Southern Hemisphere.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

A Maiden To Her Mirror

He said he loved me! Then he called my hair
Silk threads wherewith sly Cupid strings his bow,
My cheek a rose leaf fallen on new snow;
And swore my round, full throat would bring despair
To Venus or to Psyche.

Time and care
Will fade these locks; the merry god, I know,
Uses no grizzled cords upon his bow.
How will it be when I, no longer fair,
Plead for his kiss with cheeks, whence long ago
The early snowflakes melted quite away,
The rose leaf died – and in whose sallow clay
Lie the deep sunken tracks of life’s gaunt crow?

When this full throat shall wattle fold on fold,
Like some ripe peach left drying on a wall,
Or like a spent accordion, when all
Its music has exhaled – will love grow cold?
