The mystic rose

In ancient times
a warrior prince travelled to the East
to find the wisest man on earth.

Stars guided him
over uncharted terrain
to the court of Enoch
who counselled with the Almighty God.

Great and knowledgeable king,
point me the way
to find the most beautiful flower of all,

it’s called the mystic rose,
and like crystal its leaves glitters
in colours of blue, violet and ruby red
and its odour is more divine
than that of any other bloom.

Why do you need this spectre flower
the great wise king asked?
To win the heart of the girl that I desire
the prince proclaimed.

Where will I find the mystic rose?
The rich prince asked again
while his servants
brought great gifts to the wise king.

Enoch looked the prince in the eye
and said:
Somewhere in the depths
of your inner soul
lies the flower that you seek.

Without words the prince
studied the wise king
and thought about his words
without really comprehending.

The words were perplexing to the prince.
What is the mystic rose,
the prince asked at last

Its unconditional, self-sacrificing
and called perfect love
the wisest man said to him.

i lost my glass slipper

well really a shoe

but a prince didnt find it

so whats a girl to do

i kissed a frog

but it hopped away

no prince for me

no not today

fairytales are simply tales

and frogs are not for kissing

but without a little romance

something would be missing

A Cinderella Story' vs Reality

There is a girl and a boy,
Connected only in cyber,
Never met,
Never phoned,
How long can it last?
It is like in the movie ‘A Cinderella Story’,
Her friend said.

The girl loves him so much,
She cannot took her mind off him,
She waits in front of computer every night,
Waiting for her Prince Charming to greet.

They have known each other a year,
They lived very far apart,
It is like one is up there,
One is down the globe,
Can it last?
She wondered.

One day,
Her Prince Charming said those magical words to her,
She was barely able to breathe,
She was the happiest person on Earth,
But Prince Charming loves her as…?
On one beautiful night,
As usual,
She spent almost hours and hours in front of the computer,
Wait till Prince Charming to come,
But he did not,
She was a bit upset,
She wrote to Prince Charming,
‘You love me as what? ’

Prince Charming replied her the next day,
‘I love you as my girlfriend’,
‘Will you be mine? ’
For God’s sake,
She was absolutely wanted to be his,
‘I sure will’,
It was the best day of her life.

So, there it was,
For her,
She hopes her story does not end just like that,
She will wait for her Prince Charming,
To come to her,
In reality,
Not just in cyber,
Even if it take 100 years.
She wanted them to see,
She wanted him to take her hands,
She wanted to dance in the rain with him,
She wanted to feel his warm,
She wanted him for sure,
She will wait, she swore.

A Cinderella Story?
It is different with her story, she thought,
It is just the same,
When it comes to how they stay connected.

Happily Never After

In the beginning it feels like a fairytale
You believe there will be a happily ever after
Your Prince Charming you have finally found
And you are the beautiful Cinderella

Your hopes arise as high as the skies
Your dreams dominate your thoughts
'Mrs Prince Charming' scribbled over your mind
And nobody can tell you that 'He's wrong'

But soon you come to realise
That Prince Chraming is just what he is
He's nothing but a fictional character
Who only appears in dreams

He will never be a reality

But somewhere you will see,

I read of fairytales, poetry and rhymes
What beautiful stories I gathered from all
Wishing it were true, it could happen in dreams of mine

If I were your Cinderella, and you were Prince Charming
Would you bring me my glass slipper?

Would you dance with me beyond midnight?
And save me from all harm?

What if I were Snow White

Streets Of Pain

Shes still another party blonde who had it all her way,
Now, just another hanger on with a faded resume.
Hes gonna be a leading man in the gary cooper mold,
Now, working at a pretzel stand but its him thats getting sold.
Big dreamer gonna take the town but shes running out of time,
Still singing at a sleazy lounge to a house of drooling swine.
Self satisfied narcissist with a body like a god,
Hes thinking thats all there is but i dont want that job.
Streets of pain, they dont hear the crying...
...never felt the tears...they just keep on lying.
Get it through your head cause some things never change.
Wont it finally be obvious that theres very little chance?
Cant they see its a greyhound bus and not their handsome prince?
Isnt anybody satisfied with the average girl next door?
Does she have to be glamorized so the world will love her more...?
...sinking like a rock in a river...never felt so cold...
...lower than a snake can slither,
Not to mention all the stories never told.
Pretty girl becomes a socialite standing in somebody elses light.
Anything can happen late at night,
In the morning shell be out of sight.
Made a million on a lucky streak, threw it all away as foolishly,
One of many comic tragedies, what else can there be?
So you better get on the road to the desolation station,
And you better bring all you own, its a permanent vacation.
Were waiting here with open arms but it isnt what it seems.
Just looking for the boulevard on the trail of broken dreams...
