Moral Obligation?

Quintilla format.

His lover was in constant pain.
She could no longer bear the strain.
So he decided it was best
To grant her unspoken request.
Although it was against the law.

What right has anyone to say.
She has to suffer in this way.
When it's not necessary.
He has the means to set her free.
Why should she suffer anymore.

She smiled at him because she knew.
That what she wanted, he would do.
He was absolutely sure.
There was no prospect of a cure.
And chose to disregard the law.

He is no fool and recognises
That some will choose to criticise.
As they are entitled to.
He did what he thought he must do.
The time has come to change he law.

The right to die with dignity
When life has lost its quality.
Though it's forbidden by the state.
Is open to renewed debate.
With arguments against and for.

The state will try to prove that he.
Should be deprived of liberty.
Although he had no ill intent
He still merits some punishment.
He placed his love above the law.

Prepared to face the consequence.
Because he used his common sense.
And saved her from sheer agony.
His conscience bid him set her free.
Obedient to a higher law.

Aiding and Abetting

The right to live, the right to die
It’s my responsibility.
It is my choice or it should be
When life has lost all quality

I am in constant agony
There’s nothing else in life for me
What right have you to prevent me?
from dying with some dignity.

Why do you think I should endure
the agonies that death would cure.
The choice is mine and mine alone
and I have made my wishes known

Who gave you the right to say me nay.
To bid me that I have to stay
Are you prepared to take my place
and face the future that I face.

You have the right to your own view
but you are not entitled to.
Dictate to me what I should do.
Its long past time for a review.

Clarification of the law.
What the law is and what it’s for.
If I should choose the date and time
Of my demise is that a crime.

And if it’s not, assisting me.
Becoming an accessory.
Should not incur a penalty
but seems to do incredibly.

If suicide is not a crime
and is not apparently.
How can you justify the time.
Punishing those who have helped me..

I Still Have Fear Getting Out Of The Circle

i am staying
i finally tell myself
there is no sense going out of the circle
the comfort of its radius
being in
for the rest of my life

inside i may suffer
i may bleed in silence
but i live and i can still do what i can
to ease the pain

i have seen you
leave the circumference
you shout at first
you are free

then you suffer alone
in agony
then you die
then no one remembers
no one really cares
no one understands completely
us, how we both suffer

inside and outside us
how we suffer everywhere
how we live how we die

Free At Last

Now I am trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give you insight might just change your life
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free from fooling round wasting time,
Floating in this abyss of your dreadful love
Free is a feeling so high in the sky
Higher higher higher
Free from the quarrels unsatisfaction
Free from the false dream that you planted
In me with your submissive love
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Now I am open like the sky
For the sun to shine and colors true
To find me blue
Oh what a joy to be free
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,
Im free of cheating your poor heart at my own damn expense
The cost was heavy and it rent as a thunder cloud
A hurricane sure racked in my heart
Now the rain is gone and I am gone
Yes, I am moving on
Im free at last, Im free at last, Im free at last,

Suffer

Im gonna suffer for you no longer
Im gonna suffer for you no more
Im gonna write you out of my life
And shut the door
You tried to drive a wedge between me and my friends
You pushed me to the edge time and again
Ive been living in your shade since I cant remember when
Now Im bringing this charade to an end
Im gonna suffer for you no longer
Im gonna suffer for you no more
Im gonna write you out of my life
And shut the door
There was subtlety and skill in your manipulative ways
You chipped away my will so you could make me stay
You soothed me with your voice until I obeyed
But Im making my own choice from today
You used the tongue of love like a boxer uses fists
You contained me like a glove or a creeping cloak of mist
You guaranteed the stars but there always was a twist
Now I see you as you are - egotist !
Im gonna suffer for you no longer
Im gonna suffer for you no more
Im gonna write you out of my life
And shut the door
Ive got a ticket in my hand and I must be moving on
But I want you to understand that from the moment I am gone
I release and let you go - you owe nothing now to me
Im not angry anymore - Im free !
Im gonna suffer for you no longer
Im gonna suffer for you no more
Im gonna write you out of my life
And shut the door

Escape Mechanism

I was in pain, in agony
and saw no way to gain relief.
Then all at once I seemed to be
beside myself quite literally.

Some how I had escaped my pain
just left my agony behind
so I was comfortable again.
I thought at first I was insane.

And yet I knew I was still me
but by some magic of my mind.
I had escaped I’d struggled free.
Although it felt quite strange to see.

My body sitting in my chair.
To see myself from the outside.
As though I was both here and there.
I found it rather hard to bear.

I wondered then if I had died
and that was how I came to be
Observing myself from outside
I understood I must decide

I had a choice to be pain free
and leave the life I knew behind.
I chose somewhat reluctantly
and I returned immediately.

Back to the inside looking out
I don’t pretend to understand
what happened but I have no doubt.
Although I rarely talk about.

The day I found that I could be
in two places at one time.
Experience simultaneously
to be pain wracked and be pain free.

I sometimes voluntarliy
decide to take a holiday
from aches and pains which distress me.
Be pain free temporarily.

All men must die and so will I,
I do not let it worry me.
But until then I can but try
to bear my suffering patiently.

When it gets to much to bear
I close my eyes and I escape
to somewhere else I‘m not sure where
nor do I think I really care.

Fantasy or Fact? for friend C.P Sharma

I am not dead nor do I live.
I hover somewhere in between
No explanation I can give
will prove to be sufficient to.

Describe exactly how I feel.
I long to stay but want to go.
To who or what do I appeal?
I am confused I do not know.

When I return to consciousness
and find I am myself again.
Gone is the sense of timelessness.
I am content and free from pain.

I knew deaths door was open wide
but knew my family needed me.
I did not choose to step inside.
It could have been a fantasy.

I’m sure some few will understand
but only those who have been there.
Most will dismiss it out of hand.
Though not because they do not care.

They simply cannot comprehend
they lack the sensitivity.
To know that death can be a friend
who is prepared to set you free.

But in the end the choice is yours.
It is your life you must decide
which would be the better course.
To just give up or to abide.

I don’t remember which I chose
but obviously I am still here.
I must have chosen I suppose.
But on that point I am not clear.

I can remember vividly
The doctors crowding round my bed
Whilst I was floating happily
and watching from above their heads..

Fantasy or reality
I do not know but I am sure
That it has wrought a change in me
that’s permanent and will endure.

No longer will I fear to die.
I know that death is not the end.
I am quite sure but know not why.
My enemy is now my friend.

I know that death will set me free
When my time comes then I will go
Released from my earthly body.
Towards a future I can’t know.

Majestic Ecstasy

I wish I knew you before...
You decided to cry,
For the rest of your life...
With that state of mind.

When will you feel deserving to accept,
A happiness that is within your reach...
Just for you,
Free of past regrets.
Although I know it is unrecognizable.
Perhaps disposable as well.
And on that,
I am not willing to bet, yet.

Forget those promises and missteps made.
I thought with us we would clear the slate.
And be done of those mistakes.
With others who came to introduced to us,
Baggage with issues packed...
To share with us their every heartbreak.

I wish I knew you before...
You decided to cry,
For the rest of your life.
With that state of mind.

You can not be honest with me!
Not if you aren't able to leave,
That hypnotic bleeding behind.

When am I going to occupy some of that time?
When will I begin to see,
The one I knew who now plays seek and find!

I am yours.
But not a part of you...
Radiates onto me to shine.

I'd like to know,
More than one piece of you...
You keep for me and say it's mine!

I wish I knew you before...
You decided to cry,
For the rest of your life.
With that state of mind.

I hope one day we will really come to meet.
Before, during or after...
When we do,
Come.
Together when we together...
With a majestic ecstasy,
Come when we meet.

Lost Hopeless Lover

I never meant to see you leaving
With an emptiness so vacant
There is no escaping from this loneliness

And I try denying

I never wished to be convinced
That you would leave me
And I
Making some sense of it

My eyes hide from crying

I never meant to feel deserted
Or left felt hurting
By the pinching even of it
No!

I never meant to say
Go away from me
Now I suffer
Like a lost hopeless lover
To recover
To recover

And now I suffer
Like a lost hopeless lover
Hoping to discover
Another
Lover
Just like the other

I never meant to see you leaving
And I
Left alone
Making some sense of it
To suffer
Like a lost
And
Hopeless lover

And
I suffer
From another
Like a lost hopeless lover

And I
Try
Denying
But I suffer
To recover
Like a lost hopeless lover
I'm just a lost hopeless lover
I'm just a lost hopeless lover

I'm not a company man.

Ghazal format

Some men strive hard chasing success
Whilst other men are content with less.
It all depends I must suppose.
On whom they're trying to impress.

I value self sufficiency
And use my time efficiently.
I choose to please myself.
There is no reason I can see.

For me to use my energy
Concentrating constantly.
Pursuing riches I don't need.
It simply makes no sense to me.

I understand that some will choose
To store up wealth they cannot use,
But that does not apply to me.
Because I know I can refuse.

To work for sixteen hours a day
I live my life a different way.
The company does not own me.
Though I work hard to earn my pay.

I spend time with my family.
Which I regard importantly.
There is much more to life than work.
I can state quite confidently.

I am contented with my lot.
I need no more than what I've got.
That is what success means to me.
My family first no matter what.

To Solicit With A Petition

Did you not choose selectively...
Your champions,
At the onset of the race?
And did you not confirm this again and again,
With others giving you an opportunity...
To change your mind with a taking of your time.

And did you not state,
How impressed you were with those images...
You simply could not replace.
With a bragging done of your choices made.
And a laughter in view of those witnessing,
A mocking of a sadness in your competitor's face.

So why have you found it necessary,
To solicit with a petition...
A race you lost at the cost of your embarrassment?
With a campaigning of complaints,
That the race had been fixed.
And you were not aware of a possibility of being tricked.

Do you wish now to prove your assessment is ridiculous?
Since you chose with no one in an adverse debate,
Not only the area of topic, time and the place...
For each event to start.
But it was you who clearly stated,
There would be absolutely no excuses to make...
And the end of 'your' artificially produced charade.

Apathy rages unchecked

The time has come for real debate about the power of the state.
to interfere with liberties we have enjoyed for centuries.
Encouraged by our apathy the state moves forward stealthily
towards its long desired goal exerting power and control.
Reducing our right to choose intolerant of other views
The state knows best their constant theme as secretly they plot and scheme

To alter the existing laws and thus gain power to enforce
Further curbs on liberty, stealing power insidiously.
The time has come to call a halt, root out the guilty men at fault.
Strip them of all authority which they obtained dishonestly.
Remind them that the people rule. The government is just a tool
which we employ to do a task, or is that far too much to ask.

I am free born a citizen, a man just like all other men
I do not need a nanny state which has the power to dictate.
to tell me what to eat and drink and try to tell me what to think.
It’s time the people aired their views and stated firmly they refuse
to allow any government to act without their full consent.
Is this a democracy? to me it doesn’t seem to be.
Although you may reject my views while you have the power to choose.

Lingering Torment

She is bewildered and afraid
no longer sure of anything
Remembering mistakes she’s made.
She finds that she is confusing
the present with the distant past.
Two different realities
but neither of them seems to last
life is full of mysteries.

There is a man who comes to call.
He seems to know her very well.
She can’t remember him at all
Although his features ring a bell
She sometimes wonders where she is
but loses soon her train of thought.
How sad to see it come to this.
She can’t survive without support

She does not know, she does not care.
She is perpetually bemused,
her mind is now beyond repair
She is contentedly confused.
Though we who love her suffer more
to see her reduced to this state
Not Compos Mentis anymore.
With saddened hearts we can but wait.

For death the final arbiter
to pardon her and set her free
I am quite sure she would prefer,
if she could say competently
Not to be here but be elsewhere,
a better place where she could be
with those who have preceded her
Once more a soul at liberty.

Im Free

I was stranded in the dark
Trying to find an open door
So alone
Chains were wrapped around my heart
Didnt know what love was for
No more
Heard these voices in my head
Telling me youll never escape
No you cant get away
When the spirit in me said
Your love could show me the way
My whole life changed on that day
Now Im walking in the light
All aglow
All I see is sunshine in my eyes
Skies of blue, its true
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free
Im free
From the time that I knew
That I could find love in you
My hearts been renewed
Now all my dreams are coming true
Im free
I was frightened in the cold
Desperate when you found me in time
You saved me from the world
Got my life back in control
Chased away the madness in my mind
You saved me right in time
Now my futures looking up
Skies of blue, all because of you
Got the sunshine in my life
All aglow, baby, dont you know
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free

We only have ourselves to blame!

Selected randomly by fate.
I became famous over night.
Be cause of what I chose to write.
About the duties of the state.

My writing caught the interest
Of the silent majority.
Who happily agreed with me.
It is our duty to protest.

Against assumed authority.
The creeping power of the state.
We can't afford to hesitate.
We have to act immediately.

If we do not it will become
Too late for us to call a halt.
The state will control by default.
And bring an end to our freedom..

We only have ourselves to blame.
Because we did not choose to see
erosion of our liberty.
We let the state control the game.

The time has come to overthrow
The dominant bureaucracy.
Inhibiting our liberty.
There is no doubt it has to go.

We live in a democracy.
It's our responsibility.
To ensure that bureaucracy
Cannot be used oppressively.

A 'Papa, please

I couldn’t see in his eyes
When my son hardly could say bye
I felt so betrayed by his gesture
I could sense of guilt but was not sure

He did not utter a word when I used to thrash
He would go away and cry while making wash
I saw sadness in him but he did not tell
I felt nothing was good or going well

I felt from my heart for his dismay show
He had very slow space and unable to grow
All children were shining in their own way
He was proving helpless and sliding away

He came into this world before maturity
We were still joyous by seeing glorious beauty
He was only hope for our well being
We too were ready to do anything and sing

I tried to read child’s mind
As dad he had nothing to find
I sensed trouble for being so unkind
He wanted me to be considerate and kind

“Dad, can I request you for something”?
He gathered courage and unfolded wing
“I get so much pain when you beat”
“I am unable to bear and it is painful to eat ‘

I almost wept for his pain
This was only his concern main
I was committing unpardonable cruelty
I cursed self and even couldn’t feel pity

‘I will study sincerely and give you result”
“I may prove myself and feel you no insult”
I couldn’t believe my eyes as he went on
He had defeated me and almost won

I used to full him up and throw on ground
He used to weep and no friends were found
‘You may kill him one day” wife scolded
I decided to withdraw with hands folded

He did fare in the life and stood firm
He was obedient and used to confirm
He never disrespected and always obliged
I too felt sense of satisfaction and realized

Life would have chance to retaliate
I was unsure of what steps fate might initiate
It was our belief that we got to suffer for bad act
No one could help if one was at any time out of tract

He is now grown up boy but had chance to remind
“Dad, you were un considerate and unkind”
‘Why were you beating me for absolutely no fault”?
This came to me all of sudden as blue from bolt

Whole scene just went off my memory as flash
Mind and heart was at disagreement and always at clash
If we try to be good parent or obedient children
Life garden will become green with happiness and never barren

Attica State

What a waste of human power
What a waste of human lives
Shoot the prisoners in the towers
Forty-three poor widowed wives
Attica state, attica state,
Were all mates with attica state
Media blames it on the prisoners
But the prisoners did not kill
Rockefeller pulled the trigger
That is what the people feel
Attica state, attica state,
Were all mates with attica state
Free the prisoners, jail the judges
Free all prisoners everywhere
All they want is truth and justice
All they need is love and care
Attica state, attica state,
Were all mates with attica state
They all live in suffocation
Lets not watch them die in sorrow
Nows the time for revolution
Give them all a chance to grow
Attica state, attica state,
Were all mates with attica state
Come together join the movement
Take a stand for human rights
Fear and hatred clouds our judgement
Free us all from endless night
Attica state, attica state,
Were all mates with attica state
Attica state, attica state,
We all live in attica state
Attica state, attica state,
Attica, attica, attica state

Face Up

Ever since Ive seen your face
This life of mine has gone to waste
I was young and you were old
And I always knew you were cold
At the start you had a heart
But in the end you lost your friend
Can you see your own dark face?
Its dieing in a lonely place
Oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
I said, oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
As we get old, we lose our place
Reflecting back the worlds disgrace
I feel so low, I feel so humble
Sometimes in life we take a tumble
Dont let anybody tell you that youre no good
Cause you know they would
Dont let anybody tell you what you should do
Cause its not that way and...
Oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
I said, oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
We were young and we were pure
And life was just an open door
I said oh, oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
You were me and I was you
This world of ours it felt brand new
You took me a little further...
I heard it all before, Ive heard it all before
I cant hear it anymore
Your hair was long, your eyes was blue
Guess what Im gonna do to you
Oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
I said, oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
We were young and we were pure
And life was just an open door
I said oh, oh, how I cannot bear the thought...
Oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
I said oh, oh, how I cannot bear the thought of you
We were young and we were pure...

Lacking Grace for Miss Callie

Thoughtless parents frequently
choose names for children that will be
A source of much embarrassment.

Although it’s unintentional.
A name that’s unconventional
can often be an unwise choice.

Though it appeals to both of you.
I’m sure it’s most unlikely to
appeal to the recipient.

It opens them to ridicule.
From the first day they go to school
and follows them throughout their life.

So think again before you choose
A name that will invite abuse.
Why make them suffer needlessly.

It isn’t hard find something plain
and save your child a lot of pain
That’s caused by cruel mockery.

A simple name will well suffice.
Why should your children pay the price
for your insensitivity.

Fifi Mariposa may sound well
Though you discarded Trixibelle.
You wanted something different

When she is old enough to choose
you can be sure she’ll change her name.
To something much more suitable.

Some names have stood the test of time
The one you chose a heinous crime.
For which you deserve punishment.

Live Your Life Be Free

Live your life be free
Live your life be free
Open up your mind and you will see
You should be with me baby
You should be with me
I see you walking with her
I see you all around
But you don't seem very happy now
You seem very down
I know you feel an obligation
To her emotional state of mind
This is the time in your life baby
When you should be having a good time
And if you want me I'll be there
To run my fingers through your hair
And if you need me its alright
Come on over baby, and see me tonight
You got to
Live your life be free
Live your life be free
Open your mind and you will see
You should be with me baby
You should be with me
You know that I'll be waiting
You know my heart is true
I will be your everything
And give everything to you
So if you want me baby I know
Don't have to knock knock down my doors
Her heart was meant to be broken that day
You got a lot of love to live
So why dont you
Live your life be free
Live your life be free
Open your mind and you will see
You should be with me baby
You should be with me
You should be with me baby
You should be with me
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
Live your life be free baby
And when you free your mind
You will leave your past behind
Live your life be free
Live your life be free
Open your mind and you will see

You should be with me
