Who Is God?
Who is God?
He is:
A poor man’s riches
A hungry man’s bread
A sad man’s joy
A sick man’s health
A crippled man’s legs
A deaf man’s ears
A blind man’s eyes
An ugly man’s beauty
A troubled man’s peace
A foolish man’s wisdom
A defeated man’s victory
An insane man’s sanity
A dead man’s life
A lost man’s salvation

Jesus Our Victory
Search no more in human wisdom
Nor live in wasted emptiness
For when to Jesus you would come
In Him alone, is Happiness.
His Love and Mercy you'll receive
The gift He paid for on the Cross
Just call to Him, in faith believe
He heals your pain, your hurts, your loss.
Yes, He alone rose from the dead
In Power showed His Victory
On death, He is the Living Bread
The One Who reigns through eternity!
He comes to all who would receive Him
His Gift of Life, Salvation free
Light of the world in darkness dim
Prince of Peace, our Jubilee!
'Then Jesus declared, 'I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty.'
(John 6: 35)
'I am the Light of the World.' (John 9: 5b)

Diary Of a Madman
What could it mean.
Living beyond shame and fear of the unknown.
Insanity is incredible
And sanity is unstable
The diary of the insane is history.
And memory is long lost in the desert
Of the heart.
To an insane,
Sanity is insanity
And insanity is sanity.
The soul of an insane has gone far beyond earth.
But the sane is oblivious
Of the fate of his own soul
After the final call.
Above all,
Is sanity sane?
No. For bad temperament is
Madness in itself.

Crying For Bread
"Please, lady! please pay my Ma for her sewing;
The suit fits you splendidly--that you'll allow.
Oh! don't say tomorrow! I see you are going;
But this will not hinder long--please pay me now.
Ma work'd all night for you! ev'ry minute;
Now she lies groaning with pain in her head;
And there by the pantry (with not a thing in it),
Sits poor little Theodore crying for bread!
Poor little Theodore crying for bread!"
"On! driver, on! they have all gone before us,
And I will not be late at the ball," Beauty said;
And wintry winds echoed her answer in chorus
With poor little Theodore crying for bread!
Poor little Theodore crying for bread!
"Please lady! please pay my Ma for her sewing;
I'll run and get change for you. Don't call me bold--
But how could you dance tonight all the time knowing
That we were left suffering, hungry and cold?
Ma looks so wild! she keeps calling for Daisy;
That was the name of my sister that's dead.
Oh! what shall I do, with my Ma going crazy,
And poor little Theodore cryiing for bread?
Poor little Theodore crying for bread!"
"Please lady! please pay my Ma for her sewing;
She must have some medicine--that let me buy.
Now, don't speak of beggars! 'tis money you're owing:
Do please, pay me part of it--else we must die."
On the wheels roll'd, and Fidele returned weeping;
Ah! in her absence a spirit had fled,
And morning light found her a weary watch keeping,
With poor little Theodore crying for bread!
Poor little Theodore crying for bread!"

Feeling Like A Crippled With No Wings
Crippled and no wings, acid in the eye oh how it stings. How much did you bring. I'll tell you right now it will never be enough. To break through shell in which is someone's hell. The skin is tough, rough almost irritable. I want to stand but can't, I want to see but I m so blind, I want to hear but you screams are so silent, crippled and no wings. The demons encircle me, they point and laugh, pick and prod, hey say the fisherman's son look what we caught I think its a cod, look at it flop, so helpless breathless. To hell with ya and you deformed view of what I am. Don't you know it ain't nice to melt the ice before their ready for their drink, do you even use that head and think. Comformity, fitting in amongst those not welcome. A criminal by tributes and scars. Just cause you say you are. Never can you remove the gun from under you pillow. Always looking towards the shadows. I'm just another crippled with no wings. Still don't treat me any differently, common courtesy, common respect, I m not a reject, I know exactly what is being said, I have had enough of it. Ill show you rabid dog, watch out for that bite. It can be nasty. Crippled and no wings, oh the anger it brings. To hell with what you think. Your just mad cause I wasn't the loser you were use too. You like to be told what to do. Well here's one f*ck you. What do you think I was doing their. Making cookies for the boy scouts. Ugly are my eyes. When I how I wasted my time on someone who didn't really want me. You faker, you disease, you brought me knees, then stepped on me. Now I m crippled with no wings, but no longer that foolish to fall for such tricks again. So come on lets see what you got, bet you have no luck. Cause you just ain't that hot. It was about more than that. You broke a contract. I hope you go to hell an rot. For creating the crippled with no wings.

Insane
Somebody told me it was over
Nobody told me where it began
No one believes in you
I understand
Like a blind man
Whos lost his way
No one hears a word
Of what you say
I forgive you
Would you do the same
I would believe you
If only youd be true
I would believe if it were true
Cause everybody wants to be a winner
Nobody wants to lose their game
Its the same for me
Its the same for you
Its insane insane insane insane insane
Insane insane insane insane insane insane
I dont know where youve been looking
I think its only in your mind
Its tied so tight inside of you
All the thoughts unkind
I would believe you
If only youd be true
I would believe if it were true
Cause everybody wants to be a winner
Nobody wants to lose their game
Its the same for me
Its the same for you
Its insane insane insane insane insane
Insane insane insane insane insane
Insane
I would believe you
If only youd be true
Im getting older
And I cant escape time
Cause everybody wants to be a winner
Nobody wants to lose their game
Its the same for me
Its the same for you
Its insane insane insane insane insane
Insane insane insane
Cause everybody wants to be a winner
Nobody wants to lose their game
Its the same or me
Its the same for you

Before And After Christ (BC/AD)
I was blind and I could not see
I was dead by the trespasses in me
I was insensitive and devoid of feeling
I was sick and in need of healing
I was deaf and could not hear
I was lost in a world of fear
I was dumb and unable to talk
I was lame and could not walk
I was dim and unable to perceive
I doubted and I could not believe
Lord, I was blind and unable to see
Your loving arms outstretched at Calvary.
Lord, I was dead in trespasses and sin
unaware You had died my love to win.
Lord, I was lame and unable to walk
to enter your presence and hear You talk.
Lord, I was deaf and could not even hear
Your Gospel message ringing out so clear.
Lord, I was callous devoid of feeling
lost in sin and in great need of healing.
Lord, I was dumb and unable to shout
as You walked on by I could not call out.
********
It was while I was in this wretched state
You came for me before it was too late.
Reached out and touched me with healing power
transforming my life that very same hour.
You raised me from the dead by Your grace
opening my eyes to behold Your face.
I leapt with joy and used my lips to sing
of Your great love and wondrous healing.
Now, no more is my soul condemned to death
since You breathed into me life giving breath.
I now have eternal life by rebirth
alive in You I'm no more confined to earth.
My Ears - My Eyes
My ears are my eyes because I am blind.
When I cross the street I listen for the sound of cars braking.
My ears are my eyes.
When I enter a room I tap my cane onto the floor and listen for the distance the echo travel to know how far I am away from someone else. My ears are my eyes.
I may never physical see the beauty of a spring day, but when I hear the birds are chirping, bikes constantly peddling by and lovers saying I love you. I know it is a beautiful spring day. I may be blind but I still see my ears are my eyes.
Note: No I am not blind myself but I know several people who are and this is me letting the rest of the world how they see through my poetry.
We Find Our Rest In Thee
We were restless
Until we found our rest in thee
We were anxious
Until we glimpsed eternity
We were lost
Until you came to show the way
We were alone
Until you walked with us each day
We are fearful
Until we revel in your love
We are foolish
Until your wisdom flows in us
We were ungrateful
Until we gazed on Calvary
We were bound
Until you came to set us free
We were hopeless
Until we found our hope in thee
We were blind
Until you gave us light to see
We were afflicted
Until you heard your children's cries
We were dead
Until you said to us ' arise! '
We were hungry
Until you fed us from your hand
We were lost
Until you led us to the promised land
We are waiting
Until you come from heav'n above
We are praying
Until you crown us with your love

The Army
They wanted a man
made from steel
or titanium would have
suited much better,
unfortunately I am
of flesh and bone and blood
and have a heart for peace
and could not become
a mere killing machine.
We marched up
and down the hill
and up again
and for nobody it was a thrill
and drove across the border
and came back
and some were wounded,
crippled, blind and dead
and those alive
were much different
from who they were before.
I wanted them to leave me
in peace,
but they still
kept calling me
for another stint and some more
and there was no way out
and suddenly it all changed
and although we won
all the battles and the war
we lost it all
and lost much more
from ourselves
and the sacrifices
did not matter.

Our Prayer of Thanks
For the gladness here where the sun is shining at evening on the weeds at the river,
Our prayer of thanks.
For the laughter of children who tumble barefooted and bareheaded in the summer grass,
Our prayer of thanks.
For the sunset and the stars, the women and the white arms that hold us,
Our prayer of thanks.
God,
If you are deaf and blind, if this is all lost to you,
God, if the dead in their coffins amid the silver handles on the edge of town, or the reckless dead of war days thrown unknown in pits, if these dead are forever deaf and blind and lost,
Our prayer of thanks.
God,
The game is all your way, the secrets and the signals and the system; and so for the break of the game and the first play and the last.
Our prayer of thanks.

The Loneliness Of The Untiring Writer
with equanimity i write for this audience,
deaf,
blind,
mute,
....imagine some monkeys and rats, and worms and squirrels
mute, blind, deaf,
i have no regret at all,
their hearts are bigger than the islands of paradise,
the mute claps with three hundred hands,
the blind sings with all the angelic voices in tens of hundreds
the deaf dances like some kind of a wiggling worm
vitally replicating its numbers geometrically
there is still this
wanting to be caught by a hungry
black bird
it is the silence of the mute that speaks so loudly
like a speaker of the house,
it is the restlessness of the deaf that shakes me,
and i tremble like a cymbal clanging ceaselessly
the chants of the blind, mystifies me,
scented cinders, lighted candles, fireflies on the trees
conclusion: we have become one happy family
and tonight, i will be writing some more for them
I've got no other valuable audience anyway.
and, let me finally add,
it is only my dead mother who still loves me.

In The Garden
When they came for him in the garden, did they know?
When they came for him in the garden, did they know?
Did they know he was the son of god, did they know that he was lord?
Did they hear when he told peter, peter, put up your sword?
When they came for him in the garden, did they know?
When they came for him in the garden, did they know?
When he spoke to them in the city, did they hear?
When he spoke to them in the city, did they hear?
Nicodemus came at night so he wouldnt be seen by men
Saying, master, tell me why a man must be born again.
When he spoke to them in the city, did they hear?
When he spoke to them in the city, did they hear?
When he healed the blind and crippled, did they see?
When he healed the blind and crippled, did they see?
When he said, pick up your bed and walk, why must you criticize?
Same thing my father do, I can do likewise.
When he healed the blind and crippled, did they see?
When he healed the blind and crippled, did they see?
Did they speak out against him, did they dare?
Did they speak out against him, did they dare?
The multitude wanted to make him king, put a crown upon his head
Why did he slip away to a quiet place instead?
Did they speak out against him, did they dare?
Did they speak out against him, did they dare?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
He said, all power is given to me in heaven and on earth.
Did they know right then and there what that power was worth?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
He said, all power is given to me in heaven and on earth.
Did they know right then and there what that power was worth?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?
When he rose from the dead, did they believe?

Today’s world is filled
Today’s world is filled
with sadness and hunger
and some are poor
and without any food
and some are deadly sick
and dying from Aids.
Today’s world is filled
with gladness and overwhelming riches
and some have cars and houses
and live like kings
and wait for the opportunities
that life brings.
Somewhere the rich and the poor meet
and I pray
that somehow some sanity
change the way,
that destiny play its game
and that everyone
will be a brother
and a sister and a son
to each other.

Sick of Being Sick
I’m sick of being rejected;
I’m sick of being emotionally neglected;
I’m sick of crying so many tears;
I’m sick of running away from my fears;
I’m sick of my childhood nightmares;
I’m sick of being told to do those stupid dares;
I’m sick of not having friends;
I’m sick of all these dead ends;
I’m sick of myself for what I’ve become;
I’m sick of feeling oh so numb;
I’m sick of watching myself drown;
I’m sick of my heart falling to the ground;
I’m sick of this life;
I’m sick of this everyday strife;
I’m sick of not having a dad;
I’m sick of getting mad;
I’m sick of my childhood past;
I’m sick of being harassed;
I’m sick of the dread;
I’m sick of wanting to be dead;
I’m sick of being the one who’s always so strong;
I’m sick of being somebody that doesn’t belong! !

Sonnet: When
When trust is lost, how can things move forward?
When love is lost, how can friendship remain?
When hope is lost, living remains awkward;
When fairness lost, most men could turn insane!
When wealth is lost, it could be well regained;
When health is lost, life is only a bane;
When virtues lost, nothing is truly gained;
When peace is lost, dialogue must start again.
When mind is lost, how can one ever feign?
When man is lost, to trace him is quite sane;
When Will is lost, no man can live or reign;
When God is lost, all things we do in vain.
When soul is lost, the fear of Hell awaits,
And fail do we to enter Heaven’s gates!

O Sanity
Its only sane to be insane
Psychotic builds a castle
And neurotic lives in it
I dont know what to do with my sanity
When the worlds at the verge of calamity
O sanity, o sanity
What am I to do with you
Drink up, shoot up, anything you please
But youre always standing behind me like a devil in hell
O sanity, o sanity
Why dont you let me go
Let go, let go, cut it out!

Peace in Pieces
I look for peace in time of war
I found peace in turmoil
Abundant peace I seek in love
Abundant peace in the wrong turn
I hoped for peace within beauty
In its ugly, it really lives
I reached for peace in victory
It held my hand in contented loss
I seek peace in king's palace
Within the village raunchiness, it found me.

Do Not Die
Do not die when I am sick,
Inside is demand for the deprived and slender.
This thin man who throws light and heat
Is astray like the cows and bulls.
They are thinner when deprived
Yet this thin man worked for some decades in health.
Do not sleep in a threatening mood,
The thinning of a person is about.
Health is a circle of life which revolves like wheels,
The wheel may need, but it certainly flows.
Do not be sick and poor in health
Lest demand for your life is about.
