To A. R. vpon the same
Not that I would instruct or tutor you
What is a Wifes behest, or Husbands due,
Give I this Widdow-Wife. Your early date
Of knowledge makes such Precepts slow and late.
This book is but your glass, where you shall see
What your self are, what other Wives should bee.

Atiogbe
Wives, submit to your own husbands,
For the husband is the head of the wife;
Husbands, love your wives!
And stop jumping from bed to bed;
For, i am Atiogbe in your city stidying various things,
And i have more things at hand to tell.

Not To Embarrass
Women keep money
Without their husbands’ knowledge.
Men keep women
Without their wives’ knowledge.
Knowing such things
Will jeopardize mutual trust.

Walk In Love
Husbands do love your wives,
For he who loves his wife as himself loves himself too;
Wives submit to your husbands,
For the husband is the head of the wife;
Of Bar-Iesous,
Of Bar-Jesus,
Of Zeus and Hermes;
Whatever righteous thing anyone does,
He or she will receive the same from Father Yahweh.
Walk in love and learn from the truth always,
Don't let life toss you to and fro;
Children honour your father and mother,
For they are your parents;
Walk in love and learn how to share.
Try to walk circumspectly,
For cunning craftiness does not walk in love;
They always walk to and fro like,
The eyes of your understanding.
Ice, dice, rice, lice, nice, vice, and mice;
Try to understand life and,
Stand against the wiles of this world.

Wives Are in Demand
Widows are jealous of wives.
Concubines are jealous of wives.
Bachelors seek for wives.
Husbands trust on wives.

every early hour of the
morning
before the church bell rings
for the first mass
the wife folds everything
from blankets to towels
to underwear
and paper bags and
scarfs
and one by one she
would put them
well arranged inside
the cabinets
the husband has noticed these
for days but he pretends that
this activity is just normal for
wives and
that it will also be normal
for husbands not to mind
perhaps she just wants
to show
that everything must be
well kept
and perhaps he wants to
make the impression
that indeed everything
must be well-kept
but until when? oh, she keeps
it to herself
and oh, same thing with him,
he also keeps it to
himself
that will always be
the beginning of their story
the middle
and perhaps also the end
but everybody knows.

Slow Down
Written by dan peek, 1977
Found on harbor.
I hear you knockin but you cant come in
You wear your stockings like you think its a sin
Dont try to tell me you aint been where you been
cause I know that youve been messin round with him
So slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Come on down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Oh down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Before it gets too late
Before it gets too late
I met you dancin at the high school gym
You rubbed against me my head started to spin
You turned around gave me a wink and a grin
And then you told me that youd like to be friends
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
Before it gets too late
Before it gets too late
Take it!
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
On down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
On down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont try to tell me
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Youll never sell me
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Before it gets too late
I said before it gets too late
You know before it gets too late
Oh, hey

I Do, I Will, I Have
How wise I am to have instructed the butler
to instruct the first footman to instruct the second
footman to instruct the doorman to order my carriage;
I am about to volunteer a definition of marriage.
Just as I know that there are two Hagens, Walter and Copen,
I know that marriage is a legal and religious alliance entered
into by a man who can't sleep with the window shut and a
woman who can't sleep with the window open.
Moreover, just as I am unsure of the difference between
flora and fauna and flotsam and jetsam,
I am quite sure that marriage is the alliance of two people
one of whom never remembers birthdays and the other
never forgetsam,
And he refuses to believe there is a leak in the water pipe or
the gas pipe and she is convinced she is about to asphyxiate
or drown,
And she says Quick get up and get my hairbrushes off the
windowsill, it's raining in, and he replies Oh they're all right,
it's only raining straight down.
That is why marriage is so much more interesting than divorce,
Because it's the only known example of the happy meeting of
the immovable object and the irresistible force.
So I hope husbands and wives will continue to debate and
combat over everything debatable and combatable,
Because I believe a little incompatibility is the spice of life,
particularly if he has income and she is pattable.

Money Strains The Trust
Man earned money that his wife spent.
He made savings in his wife's name.
She didn't keep aside her money.
The integration was complete.
As long as husbands and wives
Keep their money separate
And shrewd in their expending,
They, without trust, expect a split.

Lord
Man is his own Lord
Man is his own manager.
Man is naranarayana
The Bishnu.
Man is in need of food
And clothing and that is Laxmi
Man requires knowledge
And that is saraswati
Laxmi and Saraswati two wives
To serve man.
Man must give respect
To the wives
Fail to give respect
Is to suffer
Like the sakhyat Lord
Jagannatha in the
Hand of Laxmi.
Man must give equal
weightage to food
And knowledge.

Pillars of Truth-3
it's hard, so damned hard!
go to work everyday (if you're lucky)
and pound your head against the wall...
knowing there's no way in hell
you can make enough to survive!
house gone! car gone! savings gone!
no insurance, not enough food to eat!
husbands leave wives, cant do it anymore!
wives leave husbands, want a better life.
and it only gets worse!
the only thing that we have
that they cant take away
are the people that love us...
why in the hell would we throw that away?

Woman II
The flesh and bone taken from the side of man became woman,
But the Holy men of old took more than one wife;
So wives,
Submit yourselves to your own husbands;
As this is proper in the Messiah!

You're living in paradise
I'm getting tired of hearing your silly complaints.
You're angry because your husband isn't a saint.
Your husband forgets and leaves the toilet seat up and you think this isn't very nice.
You think you have it bad but you're really living in paradise.
Your husband has a few flaws but in my eyes he's great.
When I tell you about some other husbands, he'll be a man who you 'll appreciate.
I've seen husbands who beat and raped their wives and some husbands who even threatened them with guns.
And you complain about the superficial things your husband has done.
Close to where I live, a man killed his wife and then set her on fire.
Be thankful that your life isn't so dire.
These poor women's lives have been completely destroyed.
And you have the nerve to complain because your husband goes out once a week with the boys.
Before you complain about your husband again, maybe you should think twice.
You think you have it bad but you're really living in paradise.

The Men Who Made Bad Matches
'Tis the song of many husbands, and you all must understand
That you cannot call me coward now that women rule the land;
I have written much for women, where I thought that they were right,
But the men who made bad matches claim a song from me to-night.
Oh, the men who made bad matches are of every tribe and clime,
And, if Adam was the first man, then they date from Adam’s time.
They shall live and they shall suffer, until married life is past,
And the last sad son of Adam stands alone—at peace at last.
Oh, the men who made bad matches, and the Great Misunderstood,
Are through all the world a mighty and a silent brotherhood.
If a wife is discontented, every other woman knows—
But the men who made bad matches keep the cruel secret close.
You may say that you can tell them, by their clothing, if you will,
But a man may seem neglected, and his home be happy still.
You may tell by their assumption of conventional disguise—
But, the men who made bad matches, I can tell them by their eyes!
I have seen them by the camp-fire, where a child’s voice never comes,
I have seen them by the fireside, in their seeming happy homes—
Seen their wives’ false arms go round them, and the kisses that were lies—
Oh, the men who made bad matches! I can tell them by their eyes.
I have seen them bad in prison—seen them sullen, seen them sad;
I have seen them (in the mad-house)—I have seen them raving mad.
Watched them fight the battle bravely, for the children’s sake alone,
Like a father who has wronged them, and who lives but to atone.
But it’s cruel, oh! it’s cruel, for the husband and the wife,
Who have not one thought in common, and are yoked for weary life.
They must see it through and suffer, for the children they must rear—
Oh, the folk who made bad matches have a heavy cross to bear.
There is not a ray of comfort, in the future’s gloomy sky,
For the children of bad matches will make trouble by-and-bye.
And though second wives be angels, while the first wives were the worst,
No second wife yet wedded makes a man forget the first.
Ah! the men who made bad matches think more often than we know,
Of the girls they should have married, in the glorious long ago,
And there’s many a wife and mother thinks with bitter pain to-day,
Of her giddy, silly girlhood, and the man she sent away.
Life is sad for men and women, but the thoughts are bitter sad
Of the girls we should have married, and the boys we should have had.
But we’ll part now with a handshake, if we cannot with a kiss,
And bad matches may be mended in a better world than this.

Read Your Bible Again
Mongamy or polygamy,
One, two, twenty or more wives!
There are bo scriptural verses that say having another wife is sin;
So read your Bible again.
Almost all the Great Men spoken about in the Bible had many wives,
And no direct speech from any verse spoke against them;
But only the Creator knows why it is so.
Whether you have a wife or many wives,
I am not against you either;
For the truth is always in the Scriptures!

Instruct a man, you instruct an individual. Instruct a woman, you instruct a nation.
Noted By Us All
Adoption and adaptation,
And like the redemption of my muse;
But the righteous pleasures of things are now noted by us all in this life.
Wives should submit to their husbands,
Husbands should love their wives as their own bodies,
And do not grow weary of doing righteousness;
For, the righteous pleasures of things are now noted by us all in this life!
Do not be deceived,
For whatever you sow, that will you also reap;
So work with your hands to gain the status of your life,
For, there are laws all over the world!
