Death

It's a phenomenon
It's an oxymoron
She takes us wherever she wants
Whenever she wants.

She says farewell
Haphazardly when we think all is well
And extemporaneously when the Almighty Man
In Heaven
Wants to gather His children.

Death always comes as a surprise
It's a pain that does not discriminate
Against small and big prize
Against the poodle and the isolate.

At will, she takes us by the hand
Escorts us to the Rand
To our last home, to the sepulture
Like a refuse of Mother Nature.

It's a phenomenon
It's losing oneself in nothingness
Where there is no coward, no superman
No powerful king and no dazzling princess.

Senseless Killing

I saw your sons and daughters today at church;
They were carrying the holy wine, the holy bread,
The chalice, the cross and your sins.

They were not too happy, you killed their mother,
For nonsense, because of your ignorance.
Killing is never acceptable, violence
Should be denounced and rejected.

The children were beautiful at church
Without you, the fool who killed senselessly,
Brainlessly; the zombie which should have remained
Dead in the dungeon of Frankenstein.

May you rot in your deservedly filthy cell;
Your first class seat is reserved in hell;
May your blood burn without fire.
And may your eyes remain wide open, during your entire
Residency in the morbid house of Dr. Halloween Stein.

The Lonesome Traveler

The Lonesome Traveler
(Dedicated to a very good friend)

The weather was foggy and the sky in tears
You, snoozing in your crib, as though, all were perfect.
Clean shaved and yet well dressed; in your isolated heart,
You were ready to pass through the clouds in peace.

For the past years, you felt highly submissive,
And one of these days, you'd have no choice but to reach heaven.
Oh! It is sad to take off alone.
Oh! It is strange that all will forget you, once they leave.

Living, you loved flowers, women, and bust;
I wonder how you're going to deal with new realities,
Because in a few, you'll become dust
That can nourish the air, the flowers and the bees.

The weather was gray and misty this autumnal day,
It was sad to witness your sentence at the sepulture;
At once, you were well wrapped up by Mother Nature.
In this morbid and monotonous universe, you went astray…

Only See Colored People

This can be extremely controversial,
Educational, and inspirational.
This can be hard for a lot of you
To swallow.

This is absolutely colorful,
Revolutionary, and masterful.
This is about what’s real and true;
This is about the rainbow.

I have seen Caucasians
Never white people.
I have seen Asians
Never yellow people.
I have seen Indians
Never red people.
I have seen Indians
Never brown people.
I have seen Africans
Never black people
I have seen Americans
Never purple people.
This is very fascinating;
Most of us fall somewhere, on the darn chart,
While others act dumb and ignorant, not smart
To realize that the string,
The blood, the organs, which link us together,
Are more important than the false beliefs
Or creeds, which we have espoused at the dawn of all myths.
We are worse than imagined and can be better,
If we honestly look in the mirror,
And ask many pertinent questions about ourselves:
Who are we? Where are we stored on the shelves?
Are we part of the joy or part of the terror? …

I ponder
And wonder.
I imagine and I guess.

I only see colored guests
On the planet
And colored fish in the net.
This is real and true,
Nevertheless the rainbow is about you,
And me; and all of us
Thrown naked on the cross.

Tear Down The Walls

Tear Down the Walls

That was a powerful statement
Made by a serious President.
These words changed the continents
And the whole world.
Those words made a lot of sense
To the young and the old.
That was back then,
Why now, more walls are being erected?
I guess, we, humans,
Never learned from our shortsighted
Experience due to selfishness,
Greed, hypocrisy, and weakness.
There is always a humane way
To encircle the heavens with your concrete walls
And your venomously man-made bay.
No matter how tall
Is your fence, you cannot stop the air
From traveling and twirling in the atmosphere.
You cannot stop the waves from caressing the shore.
You cannot stop the volcanoes from burning the floor.
All walls will come down one day.
All chiefs will return penniless to the alley
Of death, where vitam aeternam is a laughing matter;
When Mom speaks, you better listen to Mother.
Brother against brother, sister against sister,
Nation against nation, the universe belongs to my brother,
To my sister and to all of us; it does not matter
Where you were born;
The sound of the horn
Will disintegrate your soul when the time comes.

Tear down the walls and plant colorful mums.

P.S. Happy 20th. Anniversary Germany

Michael Jackson, the Thriller, Died

Michael Jackson, the Thriller, Died

Life is unfair
To those who dare
Life is cruel
To those who sit idle.

Black people die
White people die
Multiracial people die
Rich people die
Poor people die
Children cry
Adults sigh
With remorse
In front of the corpse.

The dancer, the mega-star can no longer fly,
The floor can no longer remain dry.
The mournful river has inundated the stage;
This is the final curtain, the last page
Of a sad story of Cinderella,
Who drowned after falling in a deep coma.

Beautiful people die
Eccentric people die
Brown people die
Famous people die
No-name people die
And that's no lie.

The king died
The queen cried
All night long
Like a splenetic song
The whole world mourned
We are daily warned and scorned
By death
The thief who has the nerves to attack: the deaf
The sick, the young and the old
The exotic, the odd and the bold.

At 50, he died young,
Without playing the last song.
Death and life are unfair,
And farewell is never fair.
Michael will be missed,
May he rest in peace!

Our Love for Haiti…

Our Love for Haiti…

Our love for Haiti
Remains steadfastly unconditional.
Our love for this beloved country
Remains obviously emotional.

For a quarter of a century,
The others did not do too much,
For this yesteryear paradise island.

For more than a dozen years,
The incompetent and spurious leaders,
The opponents and the exiled ones
Also ruled this precious piece of land.

So far, no significant improvement…
Corruption, theft, poverty,
Kidnappings, death, mismanagement
Lies, excuses and misery …

This is not the hell that our forefathers died for…
I can tell you more, I can prove you more.
God Almighty, there is a constant and eternal search
For real leadership, unlike the bad ones
That we have had unfortunately over the last centuries.

We are tired of seeing Haiti among the poorest countries.

Our love for Haiti
Is sadly emotional.
Our love for this poverty stricken country
Remains simply unconditional.

The Facts of Life

I have been hired
I have been fired
I have been rehired
I have been refired
I have been discriminated against
And I have learned a lot since
I have been loved
And shoved
Off the skate board
Thanks God, My Lord
Has been with me all along
That’s why I love to sing His song.

I have been wrong
And I have been right
Stay tight
I cannot be played like a ping pong
Ball
You have the gall
And I have the guts
To tell you that under my huts
I will not be defeated
I will fight until death
I am not conceded
‘Cause I have a lot of faith
Things will get better
And our world will be safer.

Keep on firing
Keep on humiliating
Lying, abusing
And discriminating
Your turn to be fired
Is just around the corner
You’ll be tired
Old and weaker
You’ll be fired from the face of the earth
You’ll have to leave everything behind
Your new rebirth
Will blow off your mind
You’ll know the true meaning of fired
And rehired.

Tiger, My Brother…

Tiger, My Brother…

Tiger
My brother
Come out to play
Come out in May
To play
Come out of the woods
To play with the Dudes
We all understand that the cheerleaders
Are attractive, sexy and bootylicious
We all understand that they have the powers
The tricks, the seducing and dangerous
Weapons of mass destruction to destroy men
You are not alone, you are human
Man like you and I are fallible
All men are sinkable
No matter how great that we think we can swim
This mess is about you, him
And I, and all of us
Nowadays, it is impossible to trust
Anybody. The others are after one thing…
You know what I mean
You know where we have been
They are all after something
They all love dirt, trash
They all want to flash, smash,
Crash, bash your reputation
Amidst this confusion
I understand that it is natural to hide
However, after awhile, my brother; wind, tides
And waves will calm down
And the uproars will slow down
When you regain pride
Composures and strength. Right now lies
Truths and hypocrisies
Are intertwined.

After the Hula twitters dined
It would be safer to come out to play
Tiger
My brother
Today
Is another day
You should come out
To shed light and spray water on the drought.
The paparazzi and the media will cry: hurrah, hurrah
After the friendly chat with Oprah
Don’t be afraid to come out of the woods
The brothers and sisters from the hoods
Already forgave you
They understand and support you
You should come out to play
Today is another day
Tiger
My brother
You should come out to play.

Combien elle est facilement ravie

Combien elle est facilement ravie
Avec ses yeux d'extase ignée ;

To My Brother Who Looks Different Than Me

The first time, we met; you treated me,
Like a sibling, like a brother.
It was friendship; it was love at first sight;
In a very short time, you became my faithful mentor,
The good shepherd despite your prestigious might.

You do not discriminate against anybody;
You are the man that I yearn to emulate:
The consummate professional, the prelate,
Who fights the right battle, and who, eventually,
Won justice for your sanity and for others.

When we worked together, you were not perfect,
However, I could rely in you and trusted your ways;
You had a way of dealing with the imperfect
World, you had a way to warn me of the dangers.

A man can love another man for his good character,
For good morale, and unblemished behaviors.
Even now, you are still a brother, not an actor;
You remain frank and truthful with me all the time.

My brother, you were the perfect employer,
You stood by me in good time and in bad time.
When things got tough with the impostors,
I stood by you, because I knew that you were innocent;
Because I knew that you had strong work ethics
.
God has a way of protecting people, who are decent;
Family men like you and me,
Quality men like you and me.
Even though that we look very different
From each other;
You will forever
Remain my beloved brother.
I thank you for your understanding,
You are my star; I thank you for everything.

Sonnet V: Nothing But No

Nothing but "No," and "Aye," and "Aye," and "No"?
How falls it out so strangely you reply?
I tell ye, Fair, I'll not be answer'd so,
With this affirming "No," denying "Aye."
I say, "I love," you slightly answer "Aye";
I say, "You love," you pule me out a "No";
I say, "I die," you echo me an "Aye";
"Save me," I cry, you sigh me out a "No";
Must woe and I have nought but "No" and "Aye"?
No I am I, if I no more can have;
Answer no more, with silence make reply,
And let me take myself what I do crave.
Let "No" and "Aye" with I and you be so;
Then answer "No," and "Aye," and "Aye" and "No."

Never Give Up

Failing is hurtful,
Falling is painful,
But getting up or climbing back up,
To the mountains, is wonderful.
Nothing can top
It.
Nothing can stop
You. You’re defying gravity.
You’re it.
Not only that you control the valleys,
You’re also in charge of your days
And nights. You’re heading to the very top,
You’re climbing the mounts in full force.
You’re as powerful as a Trojan horse.
Don’t give up, don’t despair.
Nothing has changed, life is still beautiful.
Love yourself and Mother Nature. Be fair.
Think positive, everything will be wonderful.
You possess more than you can imagine,
Forget about debts, trash the bad engine,
Stay natural, be courteous and strong.
Stay in control of your inner feelings.
You can never, never be wrong.
You can always get new strings.
Failing is hurtful,
Falling is painful,
Raise your head and nourish your soul,
You will race up to the top in full
Force soon, where it is wonderful.
Nobody can stop
You,
Nothing can stop
You.
Failing is not an option,
Falling is a bad motion.
Never give up,
Never give up.

Tribute to Aimé Césaire

One must be really like you from the native country to comprehend,
One must be truly like me from the tropical country to understand,
And to feel at this very moment the stinging lashes
Unjustly burning the flesh of our ancestors to ashes.

One must be in our skin; one must have our blood,
And have walked under the hot sun of bad weathers
To understand the long moaning of our soul,
The suffering of our people and the miseries of our ladies.

In my heart, you remain, ad vitam aeternam, one of the fathers of negritude,
Which has inspired your children scattered all over
The world. Today, you're gone and I'm sad. I still feel the iron collar

Of slavery smothering, strangling, and suffocating me,
And the kicks of the iron boots of this sad and inhumane history.
Brave Poet! Many thanks! May God welcome you in His Beatitude!

Condamnation

Cela me fait grand mal
De ne pas pouvoir te voir,
Durant cette éternité dans l’entonnoir.

Je suis cloué dans mon émoi,
Face aux canons intoxiqués.
Triste et résigné,
Je suis bien disposé à porter
La plus lourde croix,
Laquelle est de t’avoir aimée.
C’est la grande offense, le péché
Qui m’enverra désillusionner
Au fond des bois.

Mes yeux pleurent, mon âme.
Je suis isolé, désolé et désossé
Au fond de cette fosse enflammée.
Mes peines sont insupportables, ô femme!
Où es-tu? C’est impossible de te voir.
Les semaines sont devenues des mois dans le noir;

Oh! Femme, je suis seul dans l’entonnoir.
Mes yeux pleurent, mon âme.
Mes peines sont insupportables, ô femme!
La croix est incroyablement lourde;
Mon crime et unique péché,
C’est de t’avoir aimée
Comme Notre Dame de Lourdes.

Protect Our Children

We want Peace
For our children in the Middle East
From Israel to Lebanon
From Congo to Gabon
From the West to the East
We want Peace
Not stupid wars
Not obnoxious outlaws
Big guns can only kill
Big tanks can only distill
Pain, misery and death
We want Peace on Earth
We want Peace everywhere
We abhor injustice and terror
We want Peace in the North
We want Peace in the South
Our innocent children are being killed
Our fellow human beings are being killed
It is a big deal, it a sick and sad thing
We don’t want to hear bang, bang
We want to hear people laugh
Not cry, not suffer and swimming in a blood bath
We want friends to be happy and elated
Not being tortured and executed
We want Peace
For our children in the Middle East
We want Peace in the North
We want Peace in the South
There is one God, there is one Love
Let’s protect our children and each other
There is one God, there is one Love
Let’s pray for Peace and let's love each other
We want Peace and Love for every one
From Israel to Lebanon
We want absolute Protection for children
We want Hope for our fellow men and women.

Victor Hugo

Elle était déchaussée, elle était décoiffée...

Elle était déchaussée, elle était décoiffée,
Assise, les pieds nus, parmi les joncs penchants ;

Elle essuya ses pieds à l'herbe de la rive ;
