Young Poets

A young poet.!
So naive
with
pen
in
hand.

Spilling
emotions
up on
a page.

Autumn
leaves
turn to
gold..

Catching
in the
wind,
blow
away..

Angel
flakes
of white
cover
the
ground,
creating
magic..

Thoughts
of a
lifetime
surface..

Secrets
of the
ages
come
into
play..

White Angel

There's a white angel out there
Out there somewhere
It'll blow away the darkness
Let is bright light shine

There's a white angel out there
With gold encrested wings
A white halo of leaves
They only show certain people they're their angel

There's a white angel out there
One for each of us
Be they a friend to save you
Or a true being of Heaven

There's a white angel out there
Just let them find you please
They'll show you light
They'll save you from dark

There's a white angel out there
Just let them break through thier darkness
Let them gain those wings
And you'll see them waiting

There's a white angel out there
Just you wait and see

Winterval for M 'lady Ernestine.

The whirling swirling flakes of snow.
Fall silently but ceaselessly.
Creating havoc here below.

Mother Nature intends to show
The human race that they can see
The whirling swirling flakes of snow.

Wherever they may choose to go.
She demonstrates this ruthlessly
Creating havoc here below.

What traffic moves is crawling slow.
As drivers find it hard to see.
The whirling swirling flakes of snow

Reflect their headlights pallid glow.
Reducing visibility
Creating havoc here below.

Assisted by the winds that blow
at intervals quite randomly.
The whirling swirling flakes of snow
creating havoc here below.

George Edmunds' Song

Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, lie strewn around he here;
Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, how sad, how cold, how drear!
How like the hopes of childhood's day,
Thick clust'ring on the bough!
How like those hopes in their decay-
How faded are they now!
Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, lie strewn around me here;
Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, how sad, how cold, how drear!

Wither'd leaves, wither'd leaves, that fly before the gale:
Withered leaves, withered leaves, ye tell a mournful tale,
Of love once true, and friends once kind,
And happy moments fled:
Dispersed by every breath of wind,
Forgotten, changed, or dead!
Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, lie strewn around me here!
Autumn leaves, autumn leaves, how sad, how cold, how drear!

Autumn’s Glow

There is something about autumn
That brings out such earthiness
Gold leaves adorn bushes and trees
Like an artist with a brilliant brush

Once the leaves dry on the trees
Then the wind begins to blow
It’s a special time of year for me
Because I love autumn so

The cold dry air it seems
Prepare the leaves to fall
Mother Nature’s special time
Yes, it’s the best of all

What a dazzling way to end
The year as winter nears
The way leaves let loose
And dropp like nature’s tears

Oh yes, I love those golden days
Dreamy with autumn’s glow
It makes me smile because I do
Love the season of autumn so!

Midnight Canto

Young, you weep the falling moon,
Luminous willow, beside the black river
Where I drown in your pale ghost,
Each small wave, the eyelid
Of a scattered rose, silvered by the light.

You are everything that time could steal
From me, brought back, an afterlife
I had not thought possible, a birth
Beyond the debt I owe to anyone,
These hauntings, these crucial exorcisms.

In me, wheat, honey, white gold,
Your sad summer made mystery
By night, in me, when perfect solitude
Paints your face upon its raven waters
And the watching stars discuss conspiracies

Of love that terrify the sleepless hour.
Servant of the dream that spins the world
Through the languishing ages into yesterday,
I am resurrected like the wind to comb
Your hair, and play upon your cheek,

A memory of fire, to let you know,
Though alone, I am near and now,
The music of your shining leaves,
Companion, sage, fool, or poet,
The soft, mad music of your shining leaves.

That Year's Autumn Leaves

Darling, do you remember that year’s autumn leaves?
Perhaps it was your aura, but they were the prettiest and keenest I’ve ever seen
Strolling through the park, hand in hand, the foliage crunched lightly under our feet
Such a simple, yet transcendent, treat

That year’s autumn leaves were red and gold
Thinking of them now strikes a pleasant, if somewhat melancholic, chord
The days you walked with me like the Lord
And you were

That year’s autumn leaves and you
Contentedness shared by us two
Harmonic Convergence bestowed on the lucky few
Peace of mind that I knew

Nat King Cole said it best: “Since you went away the days grow long…”
This is evidenced by many of my poems and songs
Many people, sometimes myself, think I should stop, that it’s wrong
The creative outlet, however, is too strong

That year’s autumn leaves were actually summer daze
I just love the original song, and now this unique turn of phrase
Both recall an almost alien phase
Mr. Mercer, I give you all the praise

That year’s autumn leaves were you
They may not have existed, but it’s a metaphor any romantic would die for
I would
Would you?

That year’s autumn leaves were the best autumn has ever produced
At least until we walk in the park in the fall again…or whenever you choose

Sta. Ana Wind

have you ever
send autumn leaves
falling
making a heap
of yellow and brown
and orange
on the ground?

in the same manner
i have not seen
the sta. ana wind
but you make me feel
as though
i am within
the softness of the wind

the falling of the leaves
so sweetly

i love it
when you set me free
finally

my hair
keeping some of the
sta. ana wind
my hands
letting go the
autumn leaves
in my mind

Magic Words

In the land of the lost
They dug up a book of magic spells today
No one had seen spells like this before
Some of them were extremely weird
The cover of the book said:
PO-etry
And the people wondered if PO-etry was a black or white magic. The book was sent to an expert in magic and his assistant for examining.

Look at page 82
'Mumps on the breast
sleepless rest
Eastless west
I didn't have to study for my urine test.'

or
page 97
'Crazy insane
painless pain
evaporating rain
nothing changes perception
quite like the brain.'

or how about
page 115
'Vision blurred
brain is slurred
this is what happens
when I think like the herd.'

The expert in magic confirmed it was white magic and shared the spells with everyone. The spells brought wonder and joy to the people in the land of the lost. And perhaps that is magic in itself.

A Season’s Carpet

I sat on a bench,
and watched the autumn leave fall.
A gentle breeze would shake them loose,
until they drifted to the ground.
Soon there is a carpet of leaves,
red, yellow and brown,
dancing with the wind
inches above the ground.
Another season ending,
as the autumn leave come drift down.
Winter would soon be here,
with another carpet grand.
This one would be a carpet white with snow,
and would stretch right across the land.
Another carpet for another season
would soon be close at hand.

An Autumn Crown

Watch the leaves turn
yellow, red and brown
Changing the sky too
And putting on autumn's crown

And letting in the joy
And happiness of sunshine
And filling the world with
The light and warmth of wine

watch the leaves turn
Yellow, red and brown
And reflecting serenity and peace
And putting on autumn's crown

And spreading joy and passion
And enthusiasm and hope
And clearing away the dust
And all pain and mope

watch the leaves turn
Yellow, red and brown
And creating a new life
And putting on autumn's crown

And showing you how to reach
The bright horizon afar
And nature glowing with colors
A twinkling like a star

Watch the leaves turn
Yellow, red and brown
Reflecting God's blessings
And putting on autumn's crown.

Power Of Magic

Improve your life
By creating perspective
New and fresh-

Jump at the chance
Of investing your time
Creating answers-

And know that
The fuel of motivation
Comes from a genorous soul-

So turn your thoughts
To the beautiful symphony
And sing a meaningful song-

And know that
When the rhythm of life rocks
Fill your life with hope-

Just listen to the whisper
of your heart
And believe in the power of magic-

For there is no magic
More powerful than
Than magic of believing in yourself-

Autumn Goodbye

As the rich red leaves blow down the street
I slowly look down at my feet
The leaves are gone
Apart from one
I pick it up
Winter has arrived, and autumn has had to go
Goodbye colourful leaves, hello frostie snow
The conkers have gone, autumn memories fade
The weather gets worse, all the traffics delayed
The air gets colder, and the nights draw in
The noisy winter wind makes such a din
As the rich red leaves blow down the street
I slowly look down at my feet
The leaves are gone
Every last one
Autumns moved on, winters begun.

Autumn Longing

Let me die away with autumn
Let me be like fire
Ever ignite
Let me fall
I don't want the winter
To come after me
Let the autumn arms
Bright and gold
Let it come for me
In a dream
Like a swallow
Descending for Africa
I want to come with autumn
Let me come away with thee
I want to be wine red
I want tobe amber gold
I want to sleep
With the leaves
I want to burst with juices
Like the berries
I need to sleep
I need to burn
Like the sunset
I need the rest
Like the creatures
Who hibernate
To escape harsh winter
I want tobe with you
Autumn
Let me be asleep with thee
I want to hear you secrets
That hides forever deep
Oh autumn
Let one be in love with me
As I ‘am in love with you
Oh autumn
Let one die away with thee

Pirouetting Autumn

The tree blushed - a rude blast of air
Betrayed a shapely bough.
My saddened heart aware
That Nature's clock was chiming,
I froze upon the twelfth
Clanging tone, caught alone,
Staring at a creaking door -
Left ajar for dancing, coloured Autumn,
Pirouetting in her leaves,
While agitated summer creatures
Backed away resignedly,
Sighing in protracted breves.
I turned; gave company;
We stood together, watching
Summer slowly blow away.

SHADOWS OF AUTUMN {A Poet's Dream}

Shadows that haunt me in autumn
Memories of colours lost to winter
The Douglas Fir......forever green
Keeps the forests from the barren
and desolate winter...

Shadows tail the whispered winds
November's fickle breeze....snaps
Fresh images, for the Poet's mind
Reclusive me, i write my stories in
silent attitude...

Shadows that vision harvests death
Tips of golden leaves, turn to brown
Morning dew is masked in first-frost
I watch it all, by a window, in a room
of Donne and Poe...

All i need is my paper...and isolation
To feed by yen, for the abstract buffet
I bother no one..... harbour no secrets
I'm about words 'n tales from the dark
side of fiction...

For a Poet i am not- and will never be
Poet's paint a canvass, of open doors
Into the passions 'n perils of their lives
And they do it oh so well...'tis God-Gift
Still i write.....

And, the shadows of Autumn, haunt me
They scream and bleed poetic promise
Like the gold that Robert Frost inspired
While captured, in the autumn shadows
of a Poets dream...

Autumn Leaf Fall

Colourful leaves fall through the air,
Red, orange and yellow.
The ones on the ground start to rot,
Black, brown and purple.
Some get caught in the winter bared trees,
Gold, green and silver.
Leaves of the autumn,
The autumn rainbow,
These are the colours of the autumn leaf fall.

Gibar Magic

A young magic man saw there was
no mountains left by this
land cos of man’s destruction
So he blow magic and said
Bajeirjeir jungamu
be there a mountain in front of me
And there was a great mountain
where people gather at the body
of it, to dance from grass
trees and animal lives
So it rained and water came
down from the mountain creating
a foundation of harmony
Then after many years a
big storm come rushing
flood flowed over every hut
and lightning hit trees causing
fires, everything was like
a bombed land where people
are helpless and the mountain
was dying, then the young
magic man came back
from his travels and sang
out to the people, here here
live in a Nala Nala
it is a hole, where you will be
safe for a while
Now here the magic man
gave a powerful blowing
magic that all storm wind
and flood waters lightning
disappeared and cool air
became fresh cleaner and
the people and animals came
out giving thanks to this
young magic man.
And he heard their thanks and
smiled and a smile you will
see in any Aboriginal

Autumn

(10/13/11)

The autumn leaves falling on the ground
The autumn leaves of yellow, orange and brown
The trees like a rainbow of colors
Such as this there is no other.
My friends would climb up the smallest trees
And shake the leaves down to me.

then the leaves are raked up and placed in a large pile
Children diving in and laughing all the while.
The crispy crunch that you hear
Sends the chills through your ears.

The autumn leaves reminding us
That Halloween was very near
Where we could dress up and create some fear.

But for now we would have our fun
Chasing each other with our water guns
Diving into leaves of gold and brown
Hoping that we wouldn’t be found.

The park keeper was as happy as can be
From raking the leaves he was free.
He would pick them up and putting
Them into the metal cans- and the smell
Of burning leaves would fill the air
Letting people know that autumn was here.

(memories are made of this- like the song)

Infatuation

Infatuation is a temporary
emotion. It is ever fleeting,
as a cloud drifting by

As if a tree developing buds.
Their green leaves turn gold,
then brown, finially a wind
blowing them to the ground.
As they lay there, they
return to the earth and they
are gone.

They are ever changing like the
seasons, warm, hot, cool, and
cold.
Cool in Spring, warming up for
the Summer heat and passion.
But as the cool winds of Autumn
begin to blow, they tend to cool
and prepare for the icy chills
of Winter.

So like a lady changing her
attire. Putting on and taking
off her make-up. Ever changing,
so like infatuation

Autumn's Grace

The autumn’s dream may keep its dying grace
With flecks and shades of bleeding leaves and yellow.
The cold wind's scorch may wither the green’s space,
When fruits of green a bit more need to mellow.

And autumn’s tear on every leaf perceives
The cold wind, which scorches green so cruelly,
Till glass fleck shade of bleeding yellow leaves
The living world to meet its ground so coolly.

And autumn’s red may silence the bird’s voice,
When shivers of the tree the rain embrace
And nature's hide, having no other choice.
The winter slowly comes showing her white face.
