Watching Fireworks
The crowds are gathering
along the Ohio river bank
tonight, to watch the
famous Rossi's fireworks.
One side Ohio, the other
side Kentucky. Here I sit
wondering where are you,
wishing you were here with
me, missing you.
The night sky is ablaze
with beautiful fusions.I
saw your face in a star
burst, flashing across
the northern sky.
I reached to touch you.
I wanted to chase it.
But in an instant all
was gone.The color
display so wonderful,
I sat in amazement.
I searched the mid-night
skies looking for you,
trying to draw you near.
Somehow you had escaped.
As the evening was ending
I once again drew you unto

I will grieve alone,
As I strolled alone, years ago, down along

I hid in the hobo jungle weeds

Pondering, gazing.

Saturday Night In Toledo, Ohio
(Sparks)
Saturday night in Toledo, Ohio is like being nowhere at all.
All through the day how the hours rush by, you sit in the park and you watch the grass die.
Ah, but after the sunset, the dusk and the twilight, when shadows of night start to fall.

Hide me in your Heart
dive my night, swim and paddle my day of
yesteryears return, i could hardly see the sky at
night and the star is ready to touch; a smiling

To the awakening mother Earth

and how many citizens of Ohio
know that when they say Ohio
they’re saying what, in the
Senecan language of the Iroquois tribe, is
‘Ohiyo’ meaning, it’s beautiful..
as said originally of the Ohio river;
so, poetry being a place where
the imagination is allowed to roam
as free as any Indian tribe, I like
to think of Ohians today passing
each other in the street every day
and saying ‘O-hi-yo! ’ with
a merry smile rather as in
‘Oklahoma’ was it, they sing
Oh what a beautiful morning
or as we do in a telephone call
when after a second or two
you come on the phone and
we say, ‘oh, hi… oh I forgot to say…’
