The Willow Weeps
A weeping willow stands
looking out over the
waters.
gracefully bends as the
trade-winds whip through
her hair.
winter is quickly
approaching.
Icicles are forming
the days turn cold
nights are lonely.
but soon spring will
return
the weather begins to
warm.
ice starts to melt
she begins to cry
the waters flow again.

When September Arrives, Again
September arrives and Autumn begins.
The Summer then bows to Fall.
I use to think,
The leaves would cling on until Spring...
In New England.
September arrives,
And the sky loses brightness.
Winds start to whip...
Leaves off of trees.
I use to wonder,
Why I heard thundering...
As it rained to bring a change to things.
September seems erratic and dramatic.
Shifting as it does...
To prepare all for the Winter.
Children return to school,
As cool winds descend.
September has come back,
Again...
So quickly.
September arrives,
And Autumn begins.
The Summer then bows to Fall.
I use to think,
The leaves would cling on until Spring...
In New England.
I use to think,
The leaves would cling on until Spring...
When September arrived.
And Autumn began,
With winds again.
I use to think,
The leaves would cling on until Spring...
As Autumn began,
With winds again to begin.
When September arrived.
When September...
Arrived!
When September,
Arrives...
Again.

Girl Under The Weeping Willow Tree (Oasis)
Almost
Softly
touching the ground.
The weeping willow branch
gracefully bends,
calm
and peaceful.
A cascading
oasis
for the girl
nestled beneath
her branches.
Strong is the trunk
on which she leans.
Solid
and
faithful,
on that
she can
depend.
She gazes out
at the beautiful waters
of the lake
surrounding her
and a hue of orange
from the setting sun
on the waters
captures her eye.
Peace.
Strength.
Calm serenity.
Joy.
She desires
these good gifts
from the Lord.
And she knows
He is faithful.
And she smiles.

While My Kayak Gently Weeps
(INSPIRED BY THE BEATLES SONG 'WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY
WEEPS)
Shadows of winter, full blast,
Numbly, I succumb to morpheus's charm
Under duress, somnolence's catatonic 's few crumbs,
I can't afford the luxury to dream, a pupil of the forlorn,
Yet, haunted by the memory of that buoyant waters,
I regress, unleash this floodgates of tears,
Shadows of winter, full-blown attack,
Strip of my identity, I yield inevitably to its will.... until
Spring's pull, its cry, its song, may thaw the snow
Earth's cycle starts the spin, come full circle,
Baby's eyes of blue, begins a darker azure hue,
Spring's rain, the ebb and tide of spring's love,
The waters come alive, baby, it pays to bid my time,
Where do I put my feet?
To dance again upon the fragrant waters fleetingly
To float and frolic away once again, I flee
Towards where the sun sang a lullaby to me

The View Outside My Window
The view outside my window
Never stays the same
The picture is always changing
From dawn to dusk
And as each season come to call
Winter, spring, summer and fall
Winter with its blanket of white
That covers every living thing
Icicles sparkle like jewels under a cold days sun
Spring sees a sea of green
And with it new life begins to stir
From every living thing
Summer captivates with colours
The flying things are back
Flitting from flower to flower like a fickle lover
Then the autumn comes to call
Colours fade and die to dusky brown
The harvest begins in earnest
Bountiful food supply snapped up by hungry mouths
Before the chills of winter
Again begin to call.

Love Has Its Seasons
A cool chill sweeps through the air
winter is approaching
soon the grass will have a blanket of white
nights will get longer
then soon it will be over for another year.
Spring will be with us
new growth will spring up from the ground
the days will get warmer
when summer once again appears
spreading its colours everywhere.
Then it is back into autumn once more
and the chilly air that it brings.
Love has its seasons also to share
sometimes it can be frosty
and winter chills fill the air
it can be cold
like the white blanket of snow.
Love can be like spring
imparting new life as it begins to grow.
The glow that if offers
is like the warming summer sun
that blossoms into beauty
before the ravages of autumn come
and the years trickle away.

Word Fervor
I am awake
weak with fervor
word residue
demand residue
draining words
leave in source
swiftly written
day upon day
without cessation
spring melt
is rapid
ice melt
winter melt
from high
mountain passes
flow neither waits
nor impeded hinders
observe flow waters
observe flow words
rapidly boiling forth
upon overflow rock
water force weight
unrestrained turbulent energy
unobserved water
still flows
unobserved without pause
lessons in
swift flowing waters
like swift flowing words
seen only
by those attentive
with sight to see

Fall is here!
The days are shorter
The suns rays are dimer
The wind starts to feel
Closer to winter
Trees leaves turn colors
Birds fly to where its warmer
The animals that can't fly
Prepare for the cold weather
Nights come quicker
The chilly breezes
Make you wear clothes
That are thicker
Trees leaves start to fall
At night the wind
Start to whisper
The season is changing
Time has fell back
This means winter is gaining
Nature is most precious
When the weather is changing
Hot long days and warmer nights
Traded for cool short days and chilly nights
Summer is over and fall is here!

Wonky Weather
Never in my life before, can I ever remember,
Such mild weather, at the start of a November.
The grey squirrels, in the park, are still running wild,
As the weather, for this time of year, is warm and mild.
At the popular pub, a way along the seafront,
Some people sit outside, to enjoy their lunch.
Some brave souls, have rented themselves a beach hut,
While, along the shore, dog owners exercise their mutts.
Girls wear dresses, which leave their arms and legs bare;
That it’s now winter time, they don’t seem to really care.
On the crazy golf course, players are still having much fun;
All so eager to try and score that, often elusive, hole in one.
The weather in November is traditionally cold and grey,
But we’ve really enjoyed a most warm and pleasant day.
I would guess, this is all to do with global warming;
That a whole new pattern of weather is now forming.
Despite the pleasant day, it still gets dark extremely early;
Even in the daylight, I spot the moon, all white and pearly.
Over the town, a veil of darkness, slowly, begins to creep,
But, it is still too early in the day, for people to fall asleep.
But, when to the summertime, I now think back,
Of pleasant days, I recall, there being a real lack.
Our patterns of weather have now gone all weird,
But, by the weather, today, my soul felt cheered.
There was no rain today: all day, it stayed dry,
And the temperatures reached a seasonal high.
In July, I can recall one particular, rain soaked, day,
When the wild winds, almost blew me clean away.
When I was a child, the impression, which I got,
Was that summer was hot, and winter was not.
But now, the seasons have all gone rather awry,
And the weathermen now tell us a different story.
I remember early one April, not so very long ago,
I awoke in the morning, to a thick layer of snow.
This phenomenon, they refer to as ‘climate change, ’
Is, indeed, making the weather turn extremely strange.

Early Works - The Seasons
Sky clouded and morbid blue
with cracks for the sun to shine through.
Fields barren and dead
with leaves turning from green to red.
Birds on high winging south
as rivers flow from its mouth.
Sun shines a light of cold on the
ground as autumn approaching us surrounds.
The leaves of orange and red mould where they are blown
as upon us winder begins to grow.
After a while comes a white blanket of snow
covering everything that will grow.
The nights get long
and the winter winds blow strong.
Everything is frozen fast
and in this wintry waste, none must trespass.
Overnight comes the warmth of a rearing sun
bringing with it the spring,
life to every living thing.
Trees and flowers bud, bloom,
and around the corner summer begins to loom.
As everything, turns’ smiling around
there is heard in the wind loves sweet sound.
Then with sunsets beautiful, but not rare
we can tell summer is in the air.
Flowers in full bloom spread multicolour around
as small creatures scamper on the ground
under the sun profound.
All the mysteries that summer does involve
will soon be gone as the seasons again revolve.

Arctic Sun II
The white wolf danced at break of day
With sunshine beating down,
Upon the snow to melt away
Old Mother Nature's gown...
The hunting hadn't gone so well,
But Spring was in the air!
Good riddance to cold Winter's spell
And to its sad despair...
Roll on the lengthening of hours
That sunshine would impart
And precious strengthening of powers
That stirred within his heart!
Begone the biting storms and winds!
Let gentle breezes blow!
Be glad, all creatures! Now begins
The seasons waters flow!
The white wolf danced with utmost glee!
Goodbye to loneliness!
And so he frolicked, fancy free,
His new hopes to caress!
And as he danced on yonder hill,
I danced right there and then!
He stared amazed to see such skill
And howled and danced again!

Spring Sunshine
After all the chills and winter blues,
The staying warm and staying in,
Meetings indoors for outside is cold,
Then comes the spring sunshine,
The sun breaks in like a door open wide,
With the burst of sunlight,
That lasting and warm,
Bringing smiles back on peoples faces,
While in the chilling season it brings,
Us all to hibernate and stay in,
Not getting out much as weather is cold,
Until the spring sunshine brings us back outdoors,
It is the time for new growth,
It is the time for new beginnings,
It is the time for buds to bloom,
It is the time for nature to sound its sounds of nature again,
For all the while when we shelter from the chills,
Winter is chilling,
And springs getting ready,
For all the new beginnings,
Brought forth from the old,
Of last seasons blossoms,
Spring will bring new growth from its roots,
And bloom again with spring sunshine rays,
Spring will start again,
And a new year to begin it with,
That starts with first,
The spring sunshine,
Of first days of spring,
That brings the smile back,
To all our faces,
With warm sun rays,
Of spring sunshine.

Just March(ing) Along..
When Winter begins
to lose His touch
and his buddy Jack Frost
don't hang 'roun as much..
The days will be one day
all sunny and warm
then by morning wake up
to a winter snow storm
March isn't winter
spring, summer or fall.
March seems to be marching
into changing it all.....
March is a beginning.
March is a end.
Winters defeater (the spring time leader)
March is marching spring in...

The Willow Cries
The willow
stands silently
at the waters
edge.
Waiting for a
breeze
to gently
carress her hair
carrying it
to the wind.
Her eyes grow
misty
as clouds hover
the horizon.
begin to gather
rain.
As the moisture
starts to fall
she bows her
head.

Winter
It’s winter now, the time has come,
Temperatures are freezing,
Bare hands become quite cold and numb,
With gloves, the weather’s pleasing.
Christmas is around the bend,
Sorrow is now closing,
A fun time with gifts to send,
Pain has begun its dozing.
Snow falls gently to the ground,
Laughter fills the air,
Lots of smiles all around,
And grimaces are rare.
A brand new year has now begun,
Old promises renewed,
Another second chance is won,
Past mistakes conclude.
The snow begins to melt away,
Spring is almost here,
In the warm sun now we play,
Yet another time of year.

Seasons
With the spring
comes a carpet of green
that spreads out
across the land
as new growth rears its head
to meet the spring sun.
Slowly as the season folds
and summer comes along.
The colours of the rainbow
greet everyone’s eyes
along with the warm breezes
that sweep across the land.
The summer folds into autumn
and the vibrant colours
change to musty ones
as harsh winds blow
knocking leaves and petals
to the ground.
Finally, autumn closes
and winter begins again.
White fluffy snowflakes
begin to scatter on the ground.
And when winter comes to go
spring will then return
and the seasons begin all over again.

When it will be spring
see flowers on my window
Cold winds whipping about
Soon I think
Wolves will begin to howl
When will it be spring?
Frozen days
When nature stands statue still
Cold hands, cold feet, cold heart
When will it be spring?
Haven’t heard a bird sing
The sun shines through a frozen haze
Sad days, cold days
When will it be spring?

The Life of a Season
Autumn bids a fond farewell
As Sister Winter takes her place
The colors of the trees in glory
With Winter's white is soon replaced
As Winter's gift is gently falling
Upon the trees that soundly sleep
The world in silent wonder watches
The miracle the season brings
Sadly, nothing in this fickle world
May live forever in its youth
And likewise winter starts to age
Her beauty she begins to lose
Her snow white hair now turns to gray
Her voice is quiet when she speaks
And as the days grow warm and long,
Her touch is light while she grows weak
And soon the people who had loved her
Grow tired of her chilling song
Then Winter sadly leaves her throne
And waits for baby spring to come along
So old, frail Winter bids farewell
As Sister Spring now takes her place
She waits with quiet, steady patience
To come again with youth and grace.

Winter Thoughts
As Autumn leaves and Winter begins,
So does the color of autumn to chilled winter,
For the golden browns and amber in shades,
Turn to grey clouds and ice chills,
Of snowy hills where blankets of snow begins and show,
With the season greetings and family celebrations,
Tis no place for the lonely or the homeless persons,
Winter and its isolation,
Is not kind to the exposure of the unsheltered,
For with the weather also comes the sheltering,
For peoples gather indoors and outdoors is its outcasts,
Winter brings good cheer and tidings,
It also brings out the cold and reality,
For in summer and Autumn,
Where nature trails and outdoor meets,
The winter shows who has what and who has not,
By seeing the isolated alone and the outcasts left out in the cold,
It shows the warmth of open fires and seasonal greetings,
Of lavish homes and homely places,
All in good cheer and spirits in celebration,
Yet, winter will show,
The lost and the outcast,
Of no fixed abode or family to gather with,
Looking on yet,
Not apart of or with any to gather with,
Its winter when we reflex and ponder,
Of the year near ending and what we have acheived,
Or, what we have neglected or put off again,
Or what we have losted or had to indure,
Winter reflections can bring sorrow and pain,
Or laughter with good gains,
With the gains means we all party and laugh,
While the sorrow and pain,
Is in quiet and shadowed,
Like the lost and forgotten of yesterday,
Gone like the leaves of Autumn,
Decayed and blown away,
In the chill winds of the winter,
Covered by a blanket,
Of white,
That covers it all.

Lonely Days, Lonely Nights
(coverdale)
Ive been burning my bridges
For too many years,
Drowning the sorrow
Of too many tears
Women and whiskey
Are my only friends,
One gives me strength,
One just pretends
Ive been waiting my whole life
For things to work out right,
But, those lonely days turn into lonely nights
Yes, it do
Ive heard all the wisdom
Of prophets and seers,
It dont soothe my passion
And it dont ease my fears
Burned by love
And blinded by snow,
Bad luck and trouble
Are with me wherever I go
Ive been waiting my whole life
For things to work out right,
But those lonely days turn into lonely nights
Lonely days, lonely nights,
Lonely days, lonely nights
Lonely days, lonely nights,
Someday babe, its gonna be alright
Lonely days, lonely nights,
Someday babe, its gonna be alright for me, for me
Lonely days, lonely nights,
Someday babe, its gonna be alright...
