come to the conference table
let us all talk peace.

You Cant Talk
Hoo
Beauty shrieks beast in booties
Coming home so lay the table
Look at you calling shots
Call you over under out
I was under, backwards, forwards
Holding hands in the dark
Kissing some, kissing cousins
Kissing this in cover
Kissing cousins, kissing that
Over under out
Over under out
You cant talk
You cant see me drowning
You cant talk
I dont see you swimming
You cant talk
You want go your way
You cant talk
I know you dont love me
Look at this hearts a poppin
Guess its over
Crazy action mines a breakin
Guess its over
(here we go)
You cant talk
You cant see me drowning
You cant talk
I dont see you swimming
You cant talk
You want go your way
You cant talk
I know you dont love me
Ha ha ha ah
Ah here we go
Beauty shrieks beast in booties
Coming home so lay the table
Ah look at you calling shots
Call you over under out
You cant talk
You cant see me drowning
You cant talk
I dont see you swimming
You cant talk
You want go your way
You cant talk
I know you dont love me
You cant talk
You cant see me drowning
You cant talk
I dont see you swimming
You cant talk
You want go your way
You cant talk
I know you dont love me
You cant talk
You cant talk
I know you dont love me
You cant talk
You cant talk
Blow me

DEDICATION PEACE WISHER POET AFZAL SHAUQ /Heather Wilkins
The peace wisher poet, AFZAL SHAUQ,
is on a mission,
Promoting peace and good-will to all
men.
He has dedicated his life's work to
helping the poor and needy.
Looking at all creation as equals.
The Peace Wisher Poet, is releasing
his new book of poetry, about peace,
and love for all humanity.
He begs all world leaders come to
the table,
Drink from the same cup, taste the
same wine.
Tear down these walls that seperate
us, and heal our nations
Start preparing the world for a better
tomorrow.
Where we can stand shoulder to
shoulder,
In peace and harmony.
If you hear a voice crying in the night,
It will be The Peace Wisher Poet,
AFZAL SHAUQ
Calling for peace on earth good-will
to all men.

Dead Souls
Someone take these dreams away
That point me to another day
A duel of personalities
That stretch all true reality
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
When figures from the past stand tall
And mocking voices ring the hall
Imperialistic house of prayer
Conquistadores who took their share
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
Calling me, calling me
Calling me, calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me
They keep calling me
Keep on calling me

Ban Ki Moon
Ban Ki Moon is on top of the moon he flops
From this wine splashed peace conference
To the next lopsided peace conference
Where Ban Ki Moon is you're sure for sure
To find old gray bearded silly Kofi Annan
Where Moon sips sake under the banyan tree
You'll find Annan under the baobao tree
They preach a lot of baseless senselessness
The world wants to drink from the cup of peace
Under Moon it gets the broken bones of Iraqi kids
Ban Ki Moon and Kofi Annan...they so levitate
Between decision and indecision it's crazy madly

The newspapers
Now-a-days
I don't like to read the newspapers
It's full of bad and sad news:
War, Corruption, Murder
Rape, Robbery, Flattery
Conspiracy, Drug Dealing
Women and Child Trafficking
And so on
I long for breaking good news
But I become disheartened
The politicians and the religious leaders
All talk about peace and world peace
But peace remains a daydream
Alas
Peace is in their words
But greed is in their hearts

Lovers Anonymous
Doctor, Im getting in deeper
Show me, the way I can slow myself down
You can talk me round
Im a fool for falling in love again
Youve gotta save me
Take away the temptation
Wake me up when its over
Oh yeh, youve gotta talk me down
Talk me down
Im calling lovers anonymous
Im calling lovers anonymous
You talk about your troubles
And we throw you a line
Doctor, its draining my body
Help me, to pick up the pieces Ive found
You can help me put them together again
Youve gotta save me
Take away the temptation
Wake me up when its over
Oh yeh, youve gotta talk me down
Youve gotta talk me down
Im calling lovers anonymous
Im calling lovers anonymous
You talk about your troubles
And we throw you a line
Call us up, we will answer night 'n day
Talk to us, were the ones who found the way
Doctor, its happened again, please
Help me, shes moving me more than a friend
And Im heading for trouble
Its heaven again
Youve gotta save me
Take away the temptation
Wake me up when its over
Oh yeh, youve gotta talk me down
Youve gotta talk me down
Im calling lovers anonymous
Talk about your troubles
And we throw you a line
Im calling lovers anonymous
Talk about your troubles
And we throw you a line

I Want Eyes
Its late I know but I cant sleep
Peace of mind is hard to keep
I saw it on the news today
A thousand lives just blown away
I want eyes
I want eyes
Another page in history
But the why is still a mystery
Wont you come so we can talk this through
Do you need me now like I need you
I want eyes
I want eyes
On the beach lies a boy
Thrown away like a toy
In the field lies a man
Left behind, he was calling, calling
No one saw him die
Sitting there youre telling me
That everything is meant to be
But when I say I cant go on
I know Im not the only one
I just cant live on planet hope
And watch the world go up in smoke
I dont know how to face the facts
When I see a child respond to impact
I want eyes
I want eyes
I want eyes
I want eyes
So I wake every night
With the same dream in mind
In a field theres a man
Left behind, he was calling, calling
No one saw me cry
Call

You Talk To Me Of Pain
You talk to me of pain
Of love, lust and hate.
.
You talk to me of eternity,
Of death, hell, and frivolity.
.
You talk to me of yesterday,
Of regrets, of past mistakes.
.
You talk to me of religion,
Of God, and the power of institution.
.
You talk to me of right and wrong
of man's folly, and the the destruction in war.
.
You Talk to me of Heavenly,
Of law, love and poverty.
.
In the creeks, another family,
Abandoned, wallowing in penury.
.
Another mother and child, dying in need
Of leaders, with empty promises
.
Brothers, these are the things,
That kills our beloved country.

Peace Everywhere
Peace, everywhere, peace today!
Peace in lands of scruffy trees and pine,
Peace in lands of olives and wine,
Peace in lands where peaks are white,
Peace in lands where fields are bright.
Peace in lands of oasis and sand,
Peace in lands where people band,
Peace in lands where children play,
Peace in lands where people pray,
Peace in lands in the thick of the fight,
Peace in lands ruled by force and might.
Everywhere, everywhere, peace this day!
Pray that all world leaders lead the way,
Encouraging moral people to stand proud and tall,
No government too great, no nation too small.

A Round Table
we have this round table
and we put all our hands
on it when we eat and
drink and just talk for
hours and hours and
listen. And we ask what
is happening: Karding
broke a leg and Delia
is looking for the money.
Always it is the money.
Always she is short of
the money. And there
were jewelries hanging
on her neck and arms
and fingers, and we all
ask at this round table:
what is happening?
Nothing, don't mind at
all, this is just a part of
the round table, some
wine glass that broke
and must be swept at
once. We keep away the
sound of a crying pig.
We eat pigs here at this
round table. Then we shifted
the talk about our dead
parents. We pray. We
remember we keep on
saying this. We finish eating
the pig. We drink a very
cold water. Our throats
are irritated and we step
out of the room wanting
to pull away our tongues.
when we come back the
round table is empty.
and we laugh about a
joke that we remember.
our childhood games
the river, and the boat
that father made for us.
we turn off the tv and we
begin to talk about the
beautiful flowers in mother's
old garden, the secret one.
we agree. we miss it.

True Story
As I walked home the other night,
I looked up to the sky.
It hit me like a light in the head
He showed me of the world
In a different way.
Oh, Ill never be the same.
[this is space-sector calling] are you talking to me?
[we have a message for you] I could not help but listen.
[children of earth must all become] one family.
[your leaders will not listen] but what can I do?
[people will listen to you] Im just a poor fool,
[reach out and help us and] make them understand.
A place for everyone,
In their sacred plan.
Living in all lands.
Ill never turn away,
Now my life has changed,
Ill never be the same.
[this is space-sector calling] are you talking to me?
[we have a message for you] I could not help but listen.
[children of earth must all become] one family.
[your leaders will not listen] but what can I do?
[people will listen to you] Im just a poor fool,
[reach out and help us and] make them understand.
[this is space-sector calling] are you talking to me?
[we have a message for you] oh what can it be?
[children of earth must all become] one family.
[your leaders will not listen] but what can I do?
[people will listen to you] Im just a poor fool,
[reach out and help us and] make them understand.

The Lifting
Grounded, 5 a.m., the nightlite is comforting
But gravity is holding you.
Once settled into sleep,
You have watched
On repeat the story of your life
Across the ceiling
And in review.
Youve said the air was singing.
Its calling you, you dont believe.
These things youve never seen.
Good morning, how are you?
The weathers fine,
The sky is blue.
Its perfect for our seminar.
Now close your eyes and start to breathe,
Allow the noise to recede,
Allow yourself to drift and fly away.
But you just stay.
Youve said the air was singing,
Its calling you, you dont believe
These things youve never seen,
Never heard.
Did you hear these voices?
Did you hear these voices calling?
Did you hear these voices calling you?
Locked into a conference room,
Were only what our minds assume
And rationale is leaving you.
This conceit these systems of belief
Your counselor agrees
You always mark these boundaries now youre free
And with relief.
Youve said the air was singing,
Its calling you, you dont believe
These things youve never seen,
Never heard, never dreamed.
You said the air was singing,
Its calling you, you dont believe
These things youve never seen,
Never heard, never dreamed.
Never, never, never...
Once you had a dream
Of oceans and sunken cities,
Memories of things youve never known
And you have left alone.

Peace Not Into Pieces.
I refused to remain silent,
While our future is lost,
To senseless violences and wars,
We've died enough,
And have cried enough red seas,
But where's the strong source,
Our love inside of us?
A child's tear into floods,
In the west Nile and
The dry karamoja areas,
Ramble in the potholed kampala of aches,
A mother without a mouth,
And a baby on her back,
Tryna scream out for peace
Not into pieces,
All we want is peace not into pieces.
I know you know what
Besigye really wants......
Elias Lukwago and Betty Nambooze,
You know what the country needs,
We know why the caged bird sing,
[ Maya Angelou ],
Men on boda bodas,
Those in Owino and Kiseka....
In peace not pieces.
Talkin' is free,
I'm speakin' for the mouthless
Brothers and sisters,
And the so tired ugandans,
All we stutterin' is peace not pieces,
something we yelled for is
Peace not pieces;
Before its blown, we ask for
Peace not into pieces,
God we shout for you in heaven,
That peace falls down here,
Not in pieces,
Something we can shout out
To end all their brutal war game,
The peace we yawning for,
Case for northern war was fake,
Don't let it fade,
More still rest lives can be saved.
Got braveness in me,
Shoutin' out for PWDs,
For peace not pieces,
Scared, I might end calling
Peace not Pieces,
Resting in pieces,
Thus calling for peace not pieces,
All we crave is peace not pieces,
And that's what we miss,
Something we can grow,
Before its grown in pieces,
Calling for peace not pieces.
