The Portal
I hesitantly walked through the portal
As it's light grew, encompassing me,
Not knowing what lay ahead
I was blinded and could not see.
My palms sweaty, my mind racing,
I walked trying to reach the end,
Moving 500 miles a minute
This I did not intend.
Those minutes were precious
The portal started to fade
To where was I heading?
Would I be dismayed?
Scanning for a planet,
A warming star, a cooling night,
I soared through the heavens
searching for the finite.
I was the vortex of time
The portal was sealed,
At the core of the rift
I was the infinite shield.
Where would I be to this day?
If I had not followed through
The lore of the portal
Not knowing whether to pursue.

Purgatory
I walked through a shadowed portal
into a darker existence:
a parallel microcosm
where light is impenetrable
and only remorseful sinners
inhabit this purging place.
A restless wind endlessly blows
its elegiac redolence
across a seemingly lifeless land
where no sunflowers ever grow.
I continued walking, groping
about, stumbling, until I saw
a faint illuminate ahead
the exit portal into light.

Who Is This Mortal
Who is this mortal
Who ventures to-night
To woo an immortal,
Cold, cold the moon's light
For sleep at this portal,
Bold lover of night.
Fair is the mortal
In soft, silken white,
Who seeks an immortal.
Ah, lover of night,
Be warned at the portal,
And save thee in flight!

Think again
What lies beyond we do not know.
Deaths portal opens, we pass through,
no one returns though many go.
Most are convinced that this is true.
Though priest of all regions teach
that paradise is within our reach.
If only for the favoured few
who do as the priests tell them to.
The gardens where the waters flow
are where the devout Muslims go.
The Christians have a different tale
for their devout who do not fail.
We are brain washed in early youth
with different versions of the truth.
All men are prone to self deceive
and free to choose what they believe.
I just accept I do not know
and will not 'til it’s time to go
through that portal perhaps to find.
Heaven and Hell are states of mind.
Paradise or purgatory
are merely stories told by men.
Belief is not obligatory.
Perchance you need to think again.

Macabre (A Poem From MTE)
Stillness of quiet countenance
Sleep ebbs to slumber
Time pauses
For life is almost to pass.
Still conscious
But retiring
To letting go
For knowing what lies ahead
Is rest eternal.
Peace, at long last
Consume my being
Pain no more
Of this life unending.
Whiteness of pure bless
My soul will rest.
I shall not think
Nor wonder
Neither strives
For the time has come
For me to cross the unknown
The west is calling
The amber sun retiring
But darkness not to welcome
But light encompassing
Come all you who passed
This portal of completeness
And welcome this poor
Wretched sinner.
To your indwelling
Let us rejoice and praise
This mysterious destination
For I know I will reside
In His all loving compassion.

Portal of enemy.....
birth waited us to see the garrison of enemies, and
the womb awake the pain of the promise in the garden of
Adam and Eve, where the pouring out of punishment
resolved
hide me in your strongest muscle and guide my youth to
the destined land, rushing my fingers toes to the cliff of death
in the bleed I fade
release my bosom arm and hurried me not to my weaknesses
and hold to the roaring rain in the blood of my mother's sweat,
stay into the turn of the tide and lay my diaper suite of
emptiness loose
my heart linger on as my legs settle on the ground of home
crib, i breathe, crying to be feed and laughing to be cradle in
the first step i touch the portal of my enemy
by two i walk, until in the last day leaving with three legs i limb,
alas! for a miles i floats in a distance i fly for no one ever lift my
struggle of return, on my heavenly destiny home i belong
oh! my immortal soul, may this moment to stay learn more
to be, true in a miles of enemy, i will be forever go; a portal of
my day to open the wonder of my strength to be free......

Unlock The Portal
The mind, a portal through which inner
being perceives, programmed by per-
sonal experience, teaching and
brainwashing techniques -
Modern human beings enjoy a market-
place of ideas, absorb principles and
ideals, pragmatists decree truth to be
useful application
Brains react to chemicals with sensation,
pain or elation - spiritual guru's recom-
mend using feelings as mental meters
of our level of creation
Instinctual pleasure is termed good while
pain is bad, disrespect causes pain while
creativity delights, if all needs could
be met without losing self-esteem
A new world would come into being without
victims and victimisers as these roles would
disappear - my mind portal is contaminated
by chemicals; my thoughts cannot lift off
From physical, wish I could wave a wand and
feel different - capable, energetic, affectionate
and loving - but my brain only registers a
feeling of apprehension
Imprisoned within a programmed view of reality
which leaves no room for me, trying to disappear
not working; you look at me with an
expression of exasperation
Please let me change, please, please give me a
different perspective, give me a warm loving heart
in place of the cold stone created by allergy,
please unlock the portal which leads to
Freedom And Love...

A question of priorities
A portal closes then you see
another one has opened wide.
Is this an opportunity
you have brief moments to decide.
If you go through this open door
your life will change forever more
If you do not you may regret
you lacked the courage to step through
One thing for sure you won’t forget
the chance which fate had offered you.
A golden opportunity
which you declined reluctantly.
You longed to go but chose to stay
You knew that you were needed here.
you knew you could not walk away
From everything which you held dear
A wise decision to remain
that question echoes in your brain.
When you decided not to go
through that portal and explore.
The truth is that you’ll never know
what lay beyond that open door.
But still you wonder constantly
what you’d have done if you were free.

In A Windowpane
I looked into a windowpane
Last evening in a city far away
I was feelin sad and blue
I wondered then if I should really stay
Wanting someone to be with me in the light of this uncertain time
Waiting by the window for the man inside
To please make up his mind
Will you be one who passed through but never saw
Never knowing never feeling anything
Will you live your whole life through never knowing what to do
Will you be one who passed through but never saw
I walked along the roadway to a fountain
Where lovers come to meet
A hobo walked up to me, I could tell
He didnt have enough to eat
He said, good sir you look so kind
And though the years have stripped me to the bone
It seems I am the better man
For in this place Ive never walked alone
Will you be one who passed through but never saw
Never knowing never feeling anything
Will you live your whole life through never knowing what to do
Will you be one who passed through but never saw
Where will you be, my friendly, when your
Telephone aint givin out no calls
And when the seasons come to haunt you
Will you still find springtime in the fall
And when youre on your island
Will you wave at every ship that passes by
And will you feed a hungry man
I thank you, sir,
Now Ill just say goodbye
Dont you be one who passed through but never saw
Never knowing never feeling anything
Will you live your whole life through never knowing what to do
Will you be one who passed through but never saw
Will you live your whole life through never knowing what to do
Will you be one who passed through but never saw

Pat's Criticism
There's a story that's old,
But good if twice told,
Of a doctor of limited skill,
Who cured beast and man
On the " cold-water plan,"
Without the small help of a pill.
On his portal of pine
Hung an elegant sign,
Depicting a beautiful rill,
And a lake where a sprite,
With apparent delight,
Was sporting in sweet dishabille.
Pat McCarty one day,
As he sauntered that way,
Stood and gazed at that portal of pine;
When the doctor with pride
Stepped up to his side,
Saying, "Pat, how is that for a sign ? "
"There's wan thing," says Pat,
"Ye've lift out o' that,
Which, be jabers! is quoite a mistake:
It's trim, and it's nate;
But, to make it complate,
Ye shud have a foine burd on the lake."
"All! indeed! pray, then, tell,
To make it look well,
What bird do you think it may lack?"
Says Pat, "Of the same
I've forgotten the name,
But the song that he sings is 'Quack - quack!'"

Some Portals
as you enter
this solid portal you heave a sigh
and realize
the minuteness of the sand granule in your being
you go inside and keep your rage
time calms you down
and the shortness of your breath says
it is time to leave, and you summon haste
like some tiny wings on your feet
you're gone and those that stay
mind you, are not disturbed at all.

I Thank You Once More
My Lord, I thank You once more, for every open and closed door,
As I am led through this life, by my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ,
All those doors in life closed to me, avoiding what I could not see,
And opening doors I didn’t pursue, doors you had led me through.
Knowing those things, I do not know, you led me in the way to go,
Mindful of your Purpose and Plan, You overrule the ideals of man,
With your plan always for my best, whether a trial or a time of rest,
As Your Peace fills me all the way, while you guide me day to day.
Lord, I also lift thanks to You, not only for the past, but future too,
For the confidence in my heart, as from my side You won’t depart;
Paving a way ahead for me; as you ready my heart for what will be,
While Your Presence and Peace, which fills my life does not cease.
Most of all, my God I thank You for, Jesus Christ, salvation’s door,
A Door that’s been opened for all, saving all men from Adam’s fall,
Opened for all at Calvary’s Cross, to cleanse all our sins and dross,
Through the Precious Blood of Christ, so we may enter Eternal Life.
Lord, I thank You for that final door, to live with Christ forevermore,
A place in Heaven I’m assured; this by the blood of Christ my Lord,
And that soon, this sinful mortal, will pass through Heaven’s Portal,
To enter the place prepared for me, not just for a time, but eternally.

Genderation
Heterosexuality
Is not my fate by chance
In spite of men's obscenity
I still long for romance.
So why is it that we,
Can not seem to see,
The plain normality,
Of homosexuality.
It's simply not a choice.
They deserve a voice.
Its time to be free
From all the simple minded
Homophobic insanity.
There is a generation
Across this modern nation
Who have the consternation
To be just who they are.
They have the moral courage
And will not be discouraged
In face of the scourge
Of false society.
No need for all the drama.
It's love that we are meant to see
And love that is our karma.
So hitch your wagon
to star and think
yourself a mortal?
For in the end
You'll find my friend.
You'll leave your gender
at the door
as you enter
Heavens portal.

A portal is a transitionary device of sight or sound that functions as a sort of third gravitating body between the this and the that, pulling us toward itself, allowing us to bridge into the unknown from the known.

Lost in Love
Led by the hand though the woods at night,
not knowing which was was left or right,
into a clearing full of secret lore,
I saw you standing at the door,
my hart started beating
my soul soared high,
you smile melted my worries like smoke in the night,
forever i was chained to you just by the sight,
lost in the forest and in you for all time,
I bless the day that I met you,
I bless the heavens that gave me you,
forever to be by your side,
to have you so close in my life,
My soul my life is complete,
now I can lay down and die.

An Allegory
I.
A portal as of shadowy adamant
Stands yawning on the highway of the life
Which we all tread, a cavern huge and gaunt;
Around it rages an unceasing strife
Of shadows, like the restless clouds that haunt
The gap of some cleft mountain, lifted high
Into the whirlwinds of the upper sky.
II.
And many pass it by with careless tread,
Not knowing that a shadowy...
Tracks every traveller even to where the dead
Wait peacefully for their companion new;
But others, by more curious humour led,
Pause to examine;—these are very few,
And they learn little there, except to know
That shadows follow them where’er they go.
