I Wished It
You neither came forward
Nor looked backward
To reassure me of sweet words
That was spoken in presence of lord
It was total surprise
But that did not cut much ice
I was well prepared
And almost dared
I wished it to happen
But not all of sudden
You were to come in open
Declare your resolve and assert it even
Oh, you did not look at me
As if I was bonded lover but let free
That I had all the options open
I could miss and go even
This attitude puzzled me even long before
You were unique and liked you therefore
You were to come and say nothing
Just to look at and assure for something
'Dear can you not speak word in my ears'? I whispered
I have waited to hear it for all these years, I murmured
You are still silent and remain unmoved
Your commitment to me is still not proved
I was shaken from half asleep stage
You just slipped near and managed
'My eyes are not closed to neglect' you finally said
You were heard saying 'It is my humble act'
It is not surprise but well thought over
Balance act and impregnable shield or cover
I was with you forever and would remain so
You venture into lovely world and surely go
If that was the love he intended
Why was I all the time offended?
I shamed and downed the eyes
What was I for all these years to ask why?

Oh, Son
Oh, son where were you all these years!
I wanted to hear that sweet voice of yours
In this lovely world I missed you for long time
You were not even asking me in prayer times
What has happened to you?
You were obedient, honest and true
What made you to be of forgetful nature?
You schooling, education and everything was made very much sure
You used to come and weep by my bed side
I could feel the tears dropp and the words you wanted to confide
I was helpless my dear son when you were just a kid
I was moved by your presence and it spun my head
I left this beautiful land on fateful day
I knew you were dragged and taken away
Your crying words still echo ears
I could understand your pain and fears
Years after years have turned into decades
My memory is now completely faded
You were not to find single second for mother
What was reason for all these years to bother?
I heard little fainted voice from distance
I loved some words closely for instance
You were asking for few minutes to talk
How can I afford to neglect you and walk away?
For all these years you might have been busy with your family?
May be facing tough life for scaling ladder not available readily
Yet it speaks of ignorance and ungratefulness on your part?
The life might have brought you glory but what a bad end with good start
Now you have found the little time
That too after retirement when no one hears you sometimes
It speaks of little childish attitude
But all my feelings for you do not dilute
For all these years you did not care
To see agony on my face and bothered
Mothers are still mothers and shall remain unique
Forget everything even if lately offered kick
I have no words to offer
As not many people may differ
Speak in different tone and not side
But I am always with you whenever you face danger and collide

In To An Old Memory
I slipped back into old memory
Felt sad and completely sorry
Even though I have everything
It made me sick for something
I looked at the window
Gentle wind tried to blow
It made me literally unmoved
All the memories are not that easily removed
You were entering with tea tray
As usual with happiness to stay
With me till I finished
You always smiled and wished
I never looked at you and appreciated
As if you were mp were related
You were suppose to serve and disappear
Not to utter a word or whisper
How cunning was I in dealing?
You were there for all kinds of healing
I stood for sturdy silence and concealing
I never thought it was unfair dealing
She waited whole life for my sweet word
A gesture in waiting but never looked backward
I gave in nothing much to her sincere effort
We never had loving contact with human rapport
She loved me till the end
But I show no attitude even like friend
I proved to be no good husband
It was hate type approach and trend
I wished now that I could have made some gesture
It was all neede4d for our comfortable and future
But nothing happened at all and she departed
I miss now her absence curse why at all she parted
Not all people might be lucky to have such a companion?
Who can stand for durable and honest union?
One must try to find out reasons and live honorably
Not to neglect whole life and fail her miserably

You And Me
Under the open sky and mango tree
It is you and me, you and me, you and me
No one comes near to observe and take a look
No fear from anyone to come all of sudden and book
I am fully aware that sky and earth never meet
In unknown place we try to figure out and greet
All warmth from within to melt so soon
Nothing deters us not even burning noon
Since you are so far and can’t come over
Provide your love as simple cover
I shall continue to live with memory
Hope to meet you soon in no hurry
I have lived long time under constant fear
How much agony and pain I bear
Eyes become wet with precious tears
Most lovely words I want to hear
Come and share all happy moments
Lovely tree branches shake with movements
Branches lower with fruits and garland
It is you and me, you and me you me on land
Who will know me better when you are gone?
Not heard enough words and you are undone
Now I have to wait for another precious day
You will come with flowers from distant way
I want to express in words exactly what I wish
Why I suffer the free air and fate of that dying fish
What you have done to me in these long years?
Have I to suffer and last for love words to hear?
I don’t know what made me to think over again and again
Fully aware of surroundings but unconsciously remain
Does such stage may last for unknown period?
Will I be in position to over come and avoid?
I have no desire to live with uncertainty
It has to have some form of continuity
I know you may be won over one day
God only know how and which way?
You may flow with me as free wind
It may be union of its own kind
Just speed up and shake complete thing
Try to reach me with powerful wings
You will have to wait for cool breeze to sat in
Situation from no win to almost win
Who says love after long wait can’t succeed
If desire is left alone and set to be freed
I have won over despite heavy odds
It has come as surprise with your approval or nods
What remains to be seen is its complete success
Heart to heart and mind to mind with full access

Eyes Wide Open
Your eyes are wide open, but yet you don’t see
All the love I have inside of me.
Eyes wide open, but you don’t look around
You don’t open your ears, you don’t hear a sound.
Eyes wide open but the beauties that surround you
Do not seem to exist.
Is it that your eyes on you are playing tricks?
Eyes wide open and yet you have a blank stare.
Have you closed off your mind?
Or you just don’t care.
What can I do to remove that haze
So that on my face you can gaze.
If I hold you tenderly in my arms
And kiss those beautiful eyes.
Will they move? Will they cry?
What must I do so that you can see
That our love was meant to be.
They say that you went deep inside yourself
To hide the hurt and pain
But without your love “ I am the same”.
Eyes wide open. Did they just glance at me?
Is it because your heart is finally free?
I see a tear forming in your eyes
Emotions being let out that you tried to hide.
Eyes wide open- now they are mine
I can see your love for the very first time.

I Think I Like It
Somethin changin for me inside
Took a long time
Now theres nothin for me to hide
I say whats on my mind
Changes, makin me see the light
I finally see wrong from right
Now I can see every sign.
Oooh, I think I like it
I think I like what Im feelin
Even though its such a surprise
But you know
Oooh, I think I really like it
I think I like what I feel
And changes really open your eyes
Oh, look at the world we make
What have we begun?
People livin for what they take
All for number one
Changes makin me see the light
I finally see the light
I finally see wrong from right
Now that its all said and done
Oooh, I think I like it
I think I like what Im feelin
Even though its such a surprise
But you know
Oooh, I think I really like it
I think I like what I feel
And changes really open your eyes
Oh doesnt love say enough
When you realize?
People try to come on so tough
All to fantasize
Changes takin me through the night
I finally see the light
Ive opened my eyes
Those changes can open you eyes

Nothing fascinates me
Nothing fascinates me than sturdy silence
I continue to wonder in dreamland since
No one picks me for being away from reality
Some one pointed out it as real pity
I don’t know what is joy in false land?
I too not very sure who is foe or friend?
Yet there is satisfaction of being not cheated
No unnecessary wait and shamelessly sweated
You are in your world guarded by all fancy
You excel and match with all the frequencies
Music always lovely to the ears and appealing
Not allowing the defeatist views and readily repealing
Is this stage always welcome?
Days and nights may repeat the same
There won’t be an end to illusion
Surely may remain as hard fact confusion
It is neither glamorous nor a dangerous
Both are full of false impression with enough humors
You feel let down of your own folly
The blame and fame is owned by you wholly
I also know how dangerous it is for woman
The position may never be accepted by man
He will forcefully pounce upon and try to pull
I shall be made to believe it is enterprising and full
It is high time I must come out from another world
One must try to live within one’s original fold
That reminds of them of actual surrounding
It seems real, practical and sounding
So far I was contended with sleeping stage
I was fast developing mentality with age
Some one must pick me up and take out for real
Accept me as it is and finally put the seal
I was dreaming all about my coming days
There was no hindrance in any way
I was fully entangled with your own style
I was in it forever and dreamed for a while
I wished it not to continue for indefinite
Day was proving stronger than night
It was becoming a hell to continue so
I had waited enough for the words to go
He is now my savior and guide
I wish everything in him to confide
Before anything take me over for sure
I want to show it to him and assure
It is not sad state of mind
Enough of joy and happiness is there to find
I have no fear of strong wind
It has slowed down and become very kind
I am floating on calm and Lovely River
It is not fantasy or some kind of fever
The world is now sleeping carelessly over
I have found shield with open cover

Do I Believe ?
You spoke softly my name
Not wishing to be heard by anyone
Your gravity take me and pulls me
Into a mysterious world
A sense of expectation when you leave
Its time to go
There goes the girl with everything
Shes all pretend, for all I know
Shes saves her tears for years and years
Tied to someone else in effort to be free
Who do I believe ?
As the letters in your name wrap around me like a chain
Do I believe ?
As the words rearrange there is nothing I can change
I believe
The madness in your eyes holds tomorrows sweet surprise
Believe
We cant tell the truth and live with this lie and still survive
That one insane second should never have been
All washed out, too scared to scream
I might as well say it, of course its untrue
It happened to me, it can happen to you
Theres no defence against a dream
Im falling but theres no-one there to see
It cant be me
Ive saved my tears for years and years
Tied to someone else in an effort who be free
Who do I believe ?
As the letters in your name wrap around me like a chain
Do I believe ?
As the words rearrange there is nothing I can change
I believe
The madness in your eyes holds tomorrows sweet surprise
Believe
We cant tell the truth and live with this lie and still survive

When The Morning Comes
when the morning comes
and you wake up first
and i am still left naked
beside these white
stained cover sheets
you know i will follow
you in the kitchen
where breakfast is
ready prepared by
your own hands
we look at each other
again this time
new eyes new memories
new anticipations
new love, new selves
new covenants
new promises
old memories,
revivals, reminiscings
we remember last night
when the hugs were tighter
when the sleep was sounder
than ever
what word will i say?
what word? will you tell me?
you hand it my coffee
and you sip yours
no cup is cold
and the brew runs wild
to the top of the ceiling
what word will i say?
our eyes speak.
we sip each other's presence.
the words are useless.
they must remain unspoken
we confess our love
this morning. the words are useless.
they must remain unspoken
our hearts are full.
and then we smile. we sip our souls.

Dream palace
Let there be dream palace to live in
no restriction and to feel free in
not as isolated ward or sultry palace
all my angels come in with open face
I wish it to open for general public
There is some reason and logic
How many secrets and stories behind?
People have remained unknown or simply blind
Only kings and queens spent happy days
Had their own luxurious time and different ways
I too wish it for all my fairies of the tales
Come with open wings and very good smiles
I will wish it to happen in child stage
Where no one may mind my little age
I shall make laugh free and very loud
The clouds may go away with big sound
Rain may dropp few light showers
Garden may witness new flowers
Nature may sprang good surprise
I will enjoy it as very good prize
Toys of all kinds may stand scattered
I shall watch them without words being uttered
I shall prefer silence and do not disturb
Their arrangement and offer no curb
How much excitement in small eyes?
No more question with so many whys
I shall watch them depart and silently come
Always with wide open arms and welcome
I consider this age free from blame
I may pray for it and often claim
Let it happen in full knowledge of brain
And store it in memory as and when came
I wish to lie down on ground
Along with toys around and to be found
Some to be intact and some to be broken
But I can understand what they have spoken
I want my parents to watch from the distance
It may frighten my angels at once
They may leave me in haste
I wish them to remain my friends as best
I can see the immense love
When they come here and finally drove
I shall miss them once for all
Even when they depart at final call
They may not come at all and stay
As my age is driving me away
I may get some sense of growth
Not to be called child or as youth
Leave me not behind for only age
I may miss it as having been put in cage
I shall be hunted for pretty consideration
I won’t be able to answer for any of the questions
I wish them to happen again an again
Let moon may not offer any rain
I have yet to learn and gain
When they will come finally in

Where Is She
Not a single day has passed without you in mind
Lots of excuses come across as thought to find
You were never away in the past for a single minute
You were uncontrollable at home and never remained mute
Whole day passed off amidst your little noise
You were always ready for something to poise
You may venture for something and make my blood pulses up
I had no option but to remain silent and shut up
Today she is not in this lovely home
I look at door steps for her welcome
I know she may come any time and knock
I puffed more from cigars and left thick smoke
You have nice art to make me smile
You will not allow gloom to descent even for while
You may keep me engaged in lovely conversation
Remind me all the time about commitment and healthy relation
Her absence has made me totally blank
From the sun rise I have taken nothing or drank
I must admit her presence as some source of strength
Without her I am unable to adjust or take comfortable breath
I can do nothing without her being on my side
She will lean on my solder and confide
Whisper lovely and sweet words in my ears
She had made me fully dependent on her for years
Today I realize her importance when she is not here
I used to neglect everything when she was with me or near
She won’t bother me for even small things
Life at home without her is dreaded for something
Lovely home is zero without her sweet smile
I am on bed and thinking for it meanwhile
How come females have strong will power to control?
When nothing can be made available without shout call?

Adamant and rigid
I was adamant and very rigid
Mind full of uncertainty and ideas very fluid
Would care for nobody and disregard
It was proving difficult and very hard
No one dared to touch my heart
Though I looked handsome and smart
Not even ugly girls tried any attempt to flirt
I was reserved yet very conscious and alert
I was fond of natural love and cared
For total disregard I would have not dared
It was amounting to no faith in almighty
I was unsure and that was biggest pity
I would look towards sky and silently pray
Something was secretly urging me to my dismay
Not that I was holding views to the contrary
These facts were known to me and very necessary
I longed for delicate touch and warmth
There was no chance for it to come forth
Sincerely I had not tried it for many years
Whisper was hardly known to the ears
I will attempt to look at lovely birds
Their presence will appease me when voices heard
“What a sweetness and pleasant surprise” I will guess
Will there not be any sunrise?
Any cruel man will have heart pulse
He will not be in position to repulse
If you need to be near to His presence
These are ingredients or essence
I thought for a while and looked around
The environment was beautiful and naturally found
I must go back to nature and reassure
My favored place in silence for sure
I shall make it as first attempt and succeed
It is essential and I certainly need
Who can survive with barren thoughts?
On reckless issues war can not be fought
I would zoom over tree branches
Shake them up with mild punches
I wondered how I could remain for long in isolation
There was no need to have preferred such relation
It is urging me again to rise above such things
They all have qualities to offer something
I am human being and must rise above all
This is what I felt as honest call
Life or identity is not something to last for ever
It can’t be treated differently either
It must be lived at full length and with satisfaction
If the world at large appreciates it then it is good indication
I have found the answer
The rain may at any time shower
The earth may give in to become fertile
Human being will have to be reasonable and versatile

A not very far
I had no courage to ask for any change
It was assuming with some thought with your age
I dreamed of having some sort of alliance
I had really wanted dependence and reliance
You had very long association with me from childhood
We had spent happy moments in the neighborhood
It had no bearing of our future relationship
Though we were attached loosely in friendship
I never tried to know or probe your mind
You were there at stone throw’s distance to find
I never thought of making you as permanent partner
Thought it was to happen sooner or later
It remained not as illusion but distant possibility
I had not thought of its probability
It did flicker in mind on several occasions
It only helped in strengthening the relation
I had no close shave off or sweet fight
You were through friend and always right
I wished not to loose you from my sight
Same thought troubled me too in night
As I was unaware of another side
The area of perception remained very wide
We had no time to converse seriously
Even though it harped on me continuously
It did occur to me sometimes
That same may be the case all the times
Possibly she may be thinking on same lines
Though I could notice only one side shine
Some possible forecast I could make
It seemed to me it would be easy cake walk
I preferred less and less acquaintance
It assumed significance with importance
I had to wait for right moment
I could see uneasiness and some movement
She would not concentrate and look around
I was sure something new may be found
It was her turn now
I had waited for it any how
I did not know how would she come forward?
But really waited for sweet and nice words
She managed finally and came closer
It was long wait but I was not looser
She whispered in ears and ran away
I was quite amused to find the way
It rang like bell in the ears
As it was recent not bye gone years
I wanted it for long time to hear
I could not guess how much happiness I bore?
Did you say it really?
Are you aware of it fully?
I may sink and not recover
You are with me however.. I pondered over it
I shall prove its worth
As you have come forth
Stay the same as you are
We are as close as were never far

A run out player
That precious time may run out
It may result in complete route
Still so much is left in store
All my works to be admired and adored
I have love for rhyme
Synchronies it with space and time
I shall prefer only sunny side
The horizon is open and wide
Let me what I am
Not to be decided by them
I shall rule the hearts of people
My creation will always tell
It may echo all over
All areas to cover
The spreading of good message
Smooth sailing with clear passage
They are simple words
It has blessings from the lords
They have come as it has to
Each word is clear and true
Who shall come forward and say?
What preference I should have in way?
I shall sing in the way I could
It is always for me thought for food
I have openly advocated
In thoughts also not sugar coated
It is through clear vision and sight
I had seen the path with light
Not all may agree
They are all free
The flowers may boom in spring
Birds and bees may silently sing
It shall ring with music
It may be life time music
I shall vow to come back again
The lost position and pride to regain
I shall watch from distance
Eyes may close at once
Some one may ring in ear
I would love some words to hear
In no time I shall be no more
The poems may remain forever
At some stage they open the page
I shall then come out of the cage

A closed eyes
I closed eyes passionately
Your response had come very lately
It was longed from the day one
I dreamed of you only and none
You were avoiding the scene
Your commitment was not at all seen
You lacked some courage and strength
I was on correct wave length
You sprang surprise all of sudden
You bore nice smile from face sullen
It was major upset turning into embarrassment
You were all out for suspicious movement
It was clear dig at me
You made it look completely free
I waited eagerly for all these days
You deliberately stayed far and long away
It was definitely change in your style
I was amused and wondered for a while
You gently moved and tightly embraced
Such dilemma I had never faced
It offered me unique joy and happiness
It was pleasant surprise to remove loneliness
What to say more about it or less?
I was prepared to accept it in any case
I remained quiet and silent
It was pride and happy moment
He had seen the point and realized
I surrendered without things to be analyzed
I was full of confidence and it was matter of joy
I didn’ t want to waste and completely enjoy
It comes once a while in life to illuminate
You feel equal to fall in line and peacefully narrate

Snowed Under
There's a cold voice on the air
You've been looking everywhere
For someone to understand your hopes and fears
Well I've thought about that for many long years
So I walk through Mansers Shaw
I don't see you anymore
We love to think about the way things were
But the time has come and I'm glad it's over
I don't know why I waste my time
Getting hung up about the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day
You know sometimes I feel like I'm
Getting snowed under with the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day
Now you think that you're alone
So you make your way back home
I'd love to greet the weary traveller
But your time has gone and I'm glad it's over
I don't know why I waste my time
Getting hung up about the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day
You know sometimes I feel like I'm
Getting snowed under with the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day
I don't know why I waste my time
Getting hung up about the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day
You know sometimes I feel like I'm
Getting snowed under with the things you say
When I open my eyes and it's a lovely day

Strangers Eyes
All alone, a rainy night
No one around but I fell someone watching me
I look around, the street is bare nobody there
I wonder what it could be
As I turned to walk away
Suddenly I saw his face
Never minding that we were alone
Didnt care about the time, at the moment I was felling fine
I was looking into strangers eyes
(he caught me by surprise)
They looked right through me
(he looking into my eyes)
Never knew
Never, ever thought that love could be
(thats when he came)
He came and captured me
Like a scene out of a dream, I cant believe it
Kind of strange and familiar
But in his eyes I get a sign, I get a feeling
I get the feeling he knows me
Maybe I could stay a while, maybe I could make you smile
I dont have much to do
Maybe we could walk awhile
Maybe, maybe we could talk awhile
Cant help looking into strangers eyes
I was looking into strangers eyes
(he caught me by surprise)
They looked right through me
(he looked into my eyes)
Never knew
Never, ever thought that love could be
(thats when he came)
He came and captured me
How was I to know this would happen
Thought I didnt know I would meet this stranger
Its the kind of thing that dreams are made of
And I keep thinking about strangers eyes
I was looking into strangers eyes
(he caught me by surprise)
They looked right through me
(he looked into my eyes)
Never knew
Never, ever thought that love could be
(thats when he came to me)
He came and captured me

Can You Hear Me Lucinda?
I am yelling Lucinda...
Asking you to open up your ears--
For you have been deaf far too long--
For way too many years;
Theres so much that you've missed out on...
With those ears that have been closed...
Can you hear me Lucinda?
All of the rhyme, the reason, the prose? ;
And what of your eyes Lucinda?
How long are you going to just keep looking away?
The truth is staring you in the face, Lucinda...
All of the horrid of yesterday! ;
Is it all just too heart wrenching?
Too much for your broken heart to face?
Can you hear me now Lucinda?
Beyond all of the ruffles, trifles and the frilly lace? ;
Beyond all of their false praise?
Beyond all of your friends who only pretend?
Beyond all of the reality that you face this day?
Beyond all of your real enemies eventual end? ;
Can you hear me now, Lucinda?
Are your ears opened up wide?
Are your eyes finally focusing, Lucinda?
There is no reason for you to hide! ;
For it was always them, Lucinda...!
It was always their plans and their schemes...! ! !
Counterfeit souls with greedy greenback goals...! ! !
Who shattered all of your dreams! ;
I know its all too painful...
But face them you must-my dear!
Its time for your eyes to see them and their reality...!
And its time for your ears to fully hear! ;

Baby What A Big Surprise
Right before my very eyes
I thought that you were only fakin it
And like before my heart was takin it
Baby what a big surprise
Right before my very eyes
Yesterday it seemed to me
My life was nothing more than wasted time
But here today youve softly changed my mind
Baby what a big surprise
Right before my very eyes
Baby what a big surprise
Just to be alone
Was a little more than I could take
Then you came to stay
Hold me in the morning
Love me in the afternoon
Help me find my way
Baby what a big surprise
Right before my very eyes
Baby what a big surprise
Baby what a big surprise
Right before my very eyes
Baby what a big surprise

Requiescit
I cannot tell his story. He was one
To whom the riddle of our human life
Was strangely put, and who, because of that
And that he could not read it, died. But a short hour
Before he passed, the woman who stood by,
Weeping as once she had wept to see him born,
Tired with her watching looked into his face
And saw the heavy eyelids dropping down
Loaded with sleep. And she, for all her tears,
Bent for the hundredth time to ease his bed.
And, as she almost touched him, smoothing out
The ruffled pillows, close into her ear
He whispered, never lifting up his eyes:
``No matter now. I shall be soon asleep.''
And then, as if he would pursue the thought
A little way as once he loved to do,
And yet too weak to catch it, he went on:
``And what a trouble it has been to keep
This pillow smooth! And in a little while
It will not want another touch; and then--
This aching head of mine will have done with thought.
Thought! Thought!'' But loud the aged woman sobbed,
``Poor soul, poor gentleman.'' So they remained
For a brief space, the goodwife standing there
Knotting her wrinkled hands and he hard by
Upon the bed and breathing heavily.
For he seemed sunk again in that dull trance
Through which men often pass away from life,
When death, as the lion does, has shaken his prey
And he lies numb and dumb and powerless.
She listened. He was telling slowly over
The names of those whom he had loved in youth.
Many were strange to her; and then there came
One she knew well. She started at the sound
She had not heard for years, and bending near
Heard him repeat it twice. She whispered hoarsely:
``Have you no word for her?''--yet stopped again
Because his eyes were open. Doubtingly
They wandered to her own and seemed to say
``Who, and what is it that you ask?'' And she
Spoke it again. He seemed to catch the name
And said it after her, but like a child
Which knows not what it speaks; and afterwards:
``Ah! Bridget, I have quite forgot that story,
And now, in half an hour, it is not long,
I shall have clean forgotten the name too.''
She cried, ``Oh Sir, it is a life too late.
Would God you had forgot it long ago!''
The tears stole slowly down her withered cheeks
And fell upon his hands. She did not move
While he went murmuring on: ``'Tis very well
Thus to forget. And what a wonder too
It now is''--and there came a sudden light
Into his eyes--``that one should ever care
To recollect a single day of life.
I used to think and plan and plot and scheme
How I might build my life in such a way
That I should take fine memories to my grave.
And now what a small matter 'tis to know
How the years went, when death in half an hour
Is all that is left of them! No matter now,
But only to sleep sound in any bed
And have no dreams.'' His eyes grew dim again
As he ceased speaking. And the woman knew
That he was dying. ``He is gone,'' she said.
And then she started muttering half aloud
``They cannot pass without the sacraments,
These gentle--folks.'' And so she hurried out.
The dying man smiled. When they came again,
She whispered in his ear, and looking down
Saw him still smiling; so she lit in haste
A candle by the bed and knelt aside.
They put the holy oils upon his hands,
Which closed upon the fingers of the priest.
The priest bent over him and laid his ear
To the half--open mouth and presently,
Thinking he heard some words, gave absolution.
But, when they would have gone on with the rest,
They found that he was dead. They buried him
With some small pomp to comfort the old dame,
Who said her master was a gentleman
And must be followed with a mourning coach
And mutes and weepers. There was no one else.
His name is cut upon a stone. His dreams
Were written on Time's hem; and Time has fled
And taken him and them. The grass is green
Upon his grave. I cannot doubt he sleeps.

No Voice
There are times when we feel
we have no voice
we are suffocated by circumstances.
Our voice is lost in the void;
we wander with eyes open
and no mouth for things to say.
Those around us are oblivious
that our presence is near.
We are invisible
with only our ears to hear.
We have no voice to shout our protests clear,
no voice to vent our anger at what we can hear.
Our voice is silenced by circumstances
some of which we do not understand.
We have no voice today or tomorrow,
and even if we had a voice
would it be heard?
Would our words fall
on vacant and deaf ears?
The question remain unanswered
for around us silence reins.
Silent as our protests
and frustration is all we gain.
One day our gag maybe lifted,
but will it be too late.
There maybe no one around us
and our anger will be lost,
lost in the silence when no one is there.
We can only hope that one day
when the silence clears
our voice among the millions
will finally be heard.
