Brave sikhs

Brave people from India to be found with turban
Spread all over world, cities, areas in rural and urban
There is not the race to raise only slogans
They are martial race and carry weapon even

Resolve to die for motherland and country
Lay a life for causes to alleviate the misery
Stand by for people and lead them to safety
Such is Sikh* turban man as you mention in your poetry

Whole country takes pride in their race
They love to die for challenges to face
No one can raise a finger in dishonor
They are the people and actual defender

We love them and nation owes so much
Took all the brunt and suffered so much
Invaders plundered their land number of times
But they fought heroically and stood fast all the times

Whole nation is indebted to their valor and courage
They have provided food to all and safe refuge
Their religious heads gurus* stood for principles
The sink people value it and remain as staunch disciples

The Once Mighty Bay

Fifteen years ago he could run as fast as the wind
The champion group 1 gelding of the thoroughbred kind
At the big City race tracks big races he won
The big bay in his prime was the Nation's number one
Racehorse and highest stakes winner and the one to beat
In his racing life he never tasted defeat
But in his retirement his face looking gray
A shadow of the horse he once was is the ageing big bay
In his younger years he was the Nation's pride
And to watch him race people came from places far and wide
But it has been awhile now since he was in his prime
And he is losing out to the father of time
And like every dog every race-horse has it's day
He can scarce raise a trot now the once mighty bay.

A culture and tolerence

Any culture that teaches tolerance is great
Their back ground and heritage may clearly state
The excavations may lead to some clue
It is remnant of national treasure and venue

No one can simply boost of culture without any back ground
It has to be worked out on certain theory and must be found
All revelations that may come to the fore and in light
It may have to be preserved as asset and declared as monument or site

National achieve is full of ancient gadgets
They are provided with special budget
They are not made to suffer for the want of fund
It is preference for national pride for the land

When we speak highly of achieves?
We clearly see what that stand to achieve?
How national sentiments bring them together in the time of crisis?
There is no special thinking or thesis

We are full aware that national moral should stand all the time very high
National flag should be seen all over and fly
It is not mere piece of cloth but heart of millions
It must send clear waves to the heart of aliens

Many countries are known for their known loyalty
The people have also proved it number of times by remaining loyal
They had deep regard for the ruler of the land
They stood fast for the country with hand to hand

Nothing can compare when it comes to the question of devotion
It is the duty of all population to keep the wheels in motion
Nation may survive only when there is complete faith and awareness
It is necessary to maintain that level with solidarity and oneness

Nobody can afford to be less vigilant
There may still be danger from distant
It is not that only neighbors may prove hostile
Big powers may interfere and watch for while

Natural resources are always power of strength
Country can afford to go to any length
It may not have self sufficiency in all the fields
It may still have the courage to garner more yields

Country may stand fast against foreign pressure
It can carve out honorable path and assure
Nothing can be compromised at the cost of pride
It can’t be bartered or attempts be made to hide

We hold honor and pride if remain attached to motherland
We can work hard and make it as wonderland
It may be so that it has its existence not because of present
It may have deep roots with people’s consent

Save Water Save Life

'Water, water' asked soldier to another soldier
He was wounded and dying for the dropp of water
Shells were fired from all the direction
He was to be rescued first as humble action

Thank god the soldier was saved for timely action
We could see the happiness on his face as sweet reaction
He should have been no more on the battle field
Had he not been given dropp of water for ground held

Water is precious commodity now a day
We have not found any alternate way
Glaciers are melting and flooding the rivers
The sea level is increased by flooding of water

There is alarming situation in many parts
Either people vacate the areas and depart
Or stick to the areas and face the devastation
As they have stayed for ages in same station

Water harvesting is best solution for problem
In many cities water has been rationed to ward of trouble
Can you imagine costal areas suffer most?
To protect and provide water for big cities involve big cost

Yes precious lives are to be provided
With water and wastage is to be avoided
Not a dropp of water should go into drain
As we are mainly dependant on rain

Entire existence of human race is in jeopardy
We may have no other option then to pray only almighty
All sources might have then stand dried away or
Water might have been polluted in alarming way

Save water and save the race any where
Educate the people not to waste water and dare
As it may take their lives and put to more difficulties
Water may then be never had even if increased the capabilities

The sources are fast drying out
Some times there is excess and sometimes drought
Life battle is to be taken care of and fought
So the slogan 'save water, save life' is sought

Race:

Tell me who chose his race
Who has designed his face,
Before he was born?
Is it you?
Show me your race request!
Explain to me your color pallet
Why are you putting race first?

Did your ancestry choose
Their skin color?
Did color even matter?
Who gives you the right,
To discriminate against others?

Telling me we are "not equal"
Putting yourself against the bible
Get out of this circle
Get out of this bubble
This action is reversible.

So much taste of pain
Too much mark of chain
Not to remember, not to maintain
The spirit and the complain
To the next generation, you explain!

As it takes love
To love someone else
It takes more than love
To love who hated you
You have to embrace
A total different race
If you are a racist
You need God's grace
If you are a sexist
You are out of trace.

Little Richard created Rock n Roll
Who is control it?
British created Soccer
Who is best at it?
People lynched people
Over race
People burned people
Over sect
People killed people
Over religion
If you discriminate
You have lost the race
Under the skin we are one
Black, White, Spanish
Asian, Indian just name
Human being is universal
Living in peace is principal
With every race is just moral.

An Influential Leader

We need today an influential leader, for a nation that has gone awry,
A man who cares much deeper, about The Lord, who reigns on High,
Who is guided in all his choices, by The Creator, who rules the skies,
And not moved by political voices, causing the country sure demise.

We need a leader who is not afraid, to stand upon the Word of God,
Marching not in the political parade, but, led by God’s staff and rod,
This to lead this now divided nation, a country which all truly cherish,
Back to God’s sure Revelation, before, as a people we surely perish.

We need a leader of more courage, who will rise up and take a stand,
Pointing all, to their blessed heritage, all across this prosperous land,
A man made of truth and integrity, who stands behind his moral guns,
Through each town and every city, long after, for office this man runs.

He will need character and fortitude, to lead a nation that’s so diverse,
For, with such a divided multitude, things ahead could only get worse.
He needs a vision sound and clear, to reach all the country as a whole,
To comfort those who fall into fear, as it speaks to this country’s soul.

A leader with God’s righteousness, who will choose to do what’s right,
To take us out of this moral mess, to lead us from darkness into light.
A leader to move the hearts of men, clear across the land that we trod,
So all of the people can say again, truly we are one nation under God.

I Am Not Proud Of My Country

I love my Homeland Country and of it's scenic sights I sing
But I don't say I am proud to be Irish as proud has a patriotic ring
And those who feel proud of their Country often go that step too far
As pride leads to patriotism and patriotism leads to war.

I have never waved my Country's flag at parade or football game
And I am not Proud of my country though I love it just the same
For pride and love are different as different as can be
And pride that leads to patriotism has never appealed to me.

Some people on flag post in their front yard fly their Country's flag
And I am proud of my Country you hear them proudly brag
But others worthiness and cultures they never could embrace
And without saying so they are telling you that ours is a superior race.

I am proud of my Country you will never hear me say
Though many feel that pride and patriotism are good and quite okay
But how many young men have died in wars due to patriotic pride
Love brings people together whilst pride and patriotism divide.

I have never been a soldier or had honours to my name
And I am not Proud of my Country though I love it just the same
And those who feel proud of their Country can take that step too far
For pride leads to patriotism and patriotism can lead to war.

Centennial

Come all ye friends of Liberty,
Who love our good old nation,
Let hands and hearts united be,
And beat the wide creation.
For this is our Centennial year,
The birthday of our nation;
For it is just one hundred years
That's stood our good old nation.

CHORUS:

Centennial! Centennial!
Hurrah to the Centennial;
And many, many people gone
To our national Centennial.

To Philadelphia people went,
And more was sure to go, sir;
They say there was things to be seen
Of a hundred years ago, sir.
Come all ye sons of liberty,
That love our good old nation,
Unite and keep our country free,
And the stars and stripes a waving.

The revolutionary war was fought
To gain our independence,
That we a nation great may be,
Both free and independent.
They fought the British, far and near,
For freedom, and they gained it --
In Centennial years of Jubilee,
Let Columbia's sons maintain it.

The Song Of My Nation

i heard the song of my nation
in a foreign land it was played smoothely
i had sworn to remain in exile forever
but it was before i heard the song of my nation

i closed my eyes to listen
but imaginations took control
i saw my home, i felt the cry of my people
and i stood for my people, fought with them

it was the song of my nation that called my name
it questioned my love for my people
while the song played, i packed to leave
to find the path home, which was nolonger clear

it was the anthem, the anthem of my nation
it told of my perishing people
it whispered the cry of a widow and the widower
it screamed the agony of newly orphaned child

today iam finding my path home
i will use diplomacy, i may take the arms and fight
but today the song spoke to me, as the flag waved hopelessly
i will die a soldier, soldiering on for my people!

Indian Democracy Can Be Truly Great!

If Indians can be patriotic more,
Democracy will thrive in our country;
If love for Motherland is truly great,
More Indians will get awards o'gallantry.

If leaders elected are more honest,
Elections will be held infrequently;
If people nurture civic sense and toil,
The nation will progress tremendously,

If love of fellowmen afills our hearts,
Poverty, illiteracy can't exist;
If duty to the nation remains first,
India can make a meteoric rise.

If women's, children's freedom is ensured,
The nation can forge ahead in great leaps;
If elderly are taken care of well,
God's blessings will be soon upon this land!

If people care for health and avoid vice,
Crime-rates will fall upon this sacred soil;
If love of peace and co-existence stays,
Exemplary will India become soon.

History In The Making

history was in the making on this very day
where Barack Obama became the 44th president of the u.s.a.
for two years he campaigned across this nation of ours
and brought to light, graft and political power.

he brought to light that it was 'time for change'
and this country will never be the same.
he tore down the walls of discrimination
and oppression in this land
and told america it was time to take a stand.
he showed the people that freedom can ring
and made this nation stand up and sing.

no other inauguration in the history of man
could compare to this in our promised land.
the world had been watching every move we make
of that there is no mistake.
and the only thing that this world could see
'was abe lincoln sitting in his chair'
happy faces every where.

the dreams of simple men this day came to life
when the first black president
stood there with his wife.
Lincoln, Kennedy, King, to name just a few
have finally gotten to see their dreams come true.
equality is what we sought
and for equality is what we fought.
this was the dream of this nation
this dream is our salvation
so america we stand with pride
for in this land freedom rides.

Save the Country

Even god cannot save this country
That is curse from almighty
We deserve only a kick
A blood from wounds to lick

We have become sick nation
Hungry people with no ration
Hatred mix love and no relation
That is how we give such an indication

Who is to be blamed?
What credit is to be claimed?
A vote for T.V. Bottle of whiskey or just bag of rice
A race after oasis water and false promise

No one else but us the people of India
As in past all rulers including the Scandia’s
We are now almost six decades old
No pride, no shine and loss all the gold

No, we are run only in the name of God
In invisible hands and in the clutches of mafia’s fold
No one can save us and hold
As our conscience is already sold

We have full proof escape routes
Politicians and legislatures frame the rules to flout
Why do we share the concern for all about?
When we are all responsible for all rots

No change is possible
Until we address ills and its troubles
Country will be plundered at will
Innocents will get only killed

Bullet for farmers and house for relatives
Big commission for schemes and joy for thieves
Who will bell the cat when system is spoiled?
Many may get killed if resisted or boiled

I will resist this injustice

Never will I like C.L. Leipoldt say:
“My country is not mine anymore;
my nation is dead from the struggle,
my courage is not heroic anymore -
God, please forgive me! ”

and although my people
now stay right over the world
and my country has been taken away

the struggle continues forever
as long as prayers go up
to God in heaven

who is almighty in control
and even during times of impossibility
practises His will.

as long as a Afrikaner
stand on his right
to lead a life

I will get a ray of hope
from somewhere
and as long as I am alive
I will resist
this unfairness.

The Patriotic Indian

I’m proud to be an Indian:
I’m glad to a Christian;
I love my every fellowmen;
I prefer things just Indian.

So great is India’s heritage;
The world is thrilled by its image;
Our culture is so very good;
So are our spices and our food.

’Tis not well-developed, our nation;
Our democracy’s worth mention;
We are peace-loving citizens,
Hard-working with much common-sense.

We do not want any factions;
We want brotherhood of nations;
We love to have peaceful neighbors,
And hate declaring futile wars!

We have achieved so many things;
Our glory world-over still rings;
We have problems to face, fiscal;
We got our freedom by struggle.

India is our great motherland;
We have great faith in Maker’s Hand;
Our population is so vast;
United, we can hold it fast.

We pray to live in amity;
We do not want enmity;
We wish to spread peace everywhere;
We love to breathe our country’s air!

Believe it as right

Rejoice o, sons of soil and celebrate
The happiness and joy how to narrate
It has found its ultimate and logical end
The tyrant was forced to flee and inclined to bend

The popular will has prevailed and won
The hardship and pain may finally be gone
Let another tyrant not enter through back door
The country belongs to all including very poor

Years have passed in turmoil and end was not in sight
No one was able to judge and believe it as right
How can a single individual rule over millions hungry?
When there was no love for countrymen and country?

The endurance has now no more stretching space
We have been pushed into corner for mad race
It was unknown tyrant to long for such a long
Why did he not know he was doing something wrong?

How can we remain in palace when country men were dying in hunger?
Why can’t one understand that people are unhappy and raging with anger?
Even if tyranny is to find a favor one must act sensible and be compassionate
His rule can be disliked by many but must beat with aspirations and resonate

This is how we have witness over number of years in recent days
People have taken to streets and forced the tyrants to go away
What would they do with stolen national wealth when it is needed here?
How would they feel comfortable when they will find place no where?

The last Great Mughal Emperor Bhadurshah Jafar missed his motherland
He was exiled by foreign invaders for annexing the complete land
How much desperate he was when his last days were near?
He could not find burial land for waging holy struggle for years

People do remember great sons of soil and patronize
They will never agree if attempt is made for country to colonize
It is stand not acceptable as it is breach of promise and amounts to compromise
Even blind ruler may find the revolt much to his astonishment and surprise

It is sad to witness some of innocent deaths
The countrymen may remember their sacrifice and lay a wreath
It may always be commemoration to their selfless service
Whole country may be weeping over martyr’s death and not as demise

The new day may come with lot many aspirations and expectations
New rule with lots of welfare measures may sound as an indication
In any set up people wish is supreme and may stay as final
Any attempt to sabotage it may lead to down fall or tyrant’s funeral

Big Sharks

What has happened to my country?
Millions starve and remain hungry
We confine to express lips services
Only feeling pity and making tall promises

How many big sharks have emerged?
Wait for kills and remain submerged
Pounce upon at right moment
The disappearance from scene no one laments

How many may be dying unnatural deaths?
How many may be lucky to find wreaths?
Yet hunger for material gain remains top aim
There is everything to snatch for and claim

How much we may need for our life journey?
Can that be made smooth with material or money?
Is it not the mad race to feel not contended?
Claim honesty and innocence pretended

I can pardon any crime
I know it is critical time
Everybody wants to be millionaire
But gets him bogged down and taka no where

I take free air but feel slavery
Liberty in name but not in sense necessary
All vultures are in open to grab
Even human beings are ready to stab

No one thinks about nation or country
They want people to be suppressed and live in misery
Want free hand and no opposition
They want everything with nice composition

Open loot and land grabbing in private
Others crimes not come out in open but definitely relate
Not people but as if they are masters
Enough of black money and support to muster

Time is not far when people will be sprayed with bullets
They won’t come out to express views through ballots
The nexus may go on in engineered democratic way
Humanity may cry and loose but nothing may take them away

We have seen and witnessed the clumsy face
All good phrases in name but really a mad race
Power hungry can do anything and stoop below
No one may agree to it but compulsion to allow

Partition and After

Everybody wanted lion's share
But were afraid to talk and dare
They were to benefit from blood and holocaust
People were to migrate soon and fast

Land was to be divided
But no clue was provided
No one knew which river will flow where
Only confusion prevailed here and there

Yet it went on with calculated move
People were uprooted and removed
Their property was burnt and houses on fire
The politicians were blamed and called liar

Soon same army was to confront face to face
Arms were to be inducted for madly race
Millions were to sleep on open ground
Love was lost and no where to be found

Everything was done in hurry
Power was only the cause of concern and worry
What has it brought for people in this country?
Except, hatred, poverty, misery and sans glory

Still hundreds weep today for their beloved
Kith and keen that were in day light butchered
No one mourned their death and missed
Only their memory and ashes were to be kissed

Not that we are against people's aspiration
But that can be done by maintaining relation
Peaceful migration can take place in orderly manner
Law and order situation has to be restored later

How can we rejoice such unholy partition?
When there is hatred and mistrust followed by volcano type ignition?
We may celebrate hard earned independence and freedom
But such joy is momentary and may remain permanent seldom

A defence line

The country is secured by its own fellow citizens
No out side help can save even if it comes then
It is national pride and sacrifice that may help
All necessary precaution can stave off situation with correct steps

It is our sacred duty to rush for help and defend
You must rush for help and can’t pretend
It has to be protected at all cost
It must occupy our attention and remain upper most

We are duty bound and committed to defend territorial integrity
Whether it is in case of internal disturbances or by mutiny
The state must find itself in preparedness and challenge
It is their internal matter and must be able to manage

It gives sense of belonging to the motherland
Strong nations may try to be hostile or be friend
The diplomacy must also play part to ward off danger
Nothing should be thought of out of anger

The nation can be pushed off by many years
Many human lives are lost amidst fears
The economy may remain in doldrums
The nation can’t sing glory by beating drums

Each dropp of blood may strengthen our belief
It may provide sense of security with relief
No price can be compared to that of freedom
This type of occasion arrives seldom

Is it not the reflection of our strong mind?
Can that be compared with or any where find?
What are all factors that can contribute to great cause?
The nation can survive the test and uniformly pause

People may not mind to offer voluntarily any kind of service
It is not mechanical piece or form of any device
This type sense is generated towards mainland
Their existence is dependant mainly on strong bond

Who may not want their land free from any occupation?
How can they bear any insult based on discrimination?
Who will grant them prestige and pride once under domination?
They can never accept slavery and is out of question

The country can heave a sigh of relief where people are vigilant
They may rise to occasion even if that has to be instant
It is not for asking but as matter of sacred duty
Motherland is to be defended without any doubt and fully

We have come across and tested it on number of occasion
We have stood for maintaining amity and friendly relation
If that has been taken as weakness then we have stood our ground
The necessary precautions coupled with popular support is found
