New Year's Resolutions
As I face another December,
It seems like yesterday I vaguely remember
Those New Year's resolutions I sincerely made,
Which like morning mist have tended to fade,
Leaving me with the same indomitable ways
That have afflicted me for all of my days.
Once again I will endeavor to change,
Attempting to alter attitude and actions to rearrange
A life sorely needing to discover a better will and way
To give loving, productive meaning to every day.

Another year has swiftly flown.
it’s now consigned to history.
A new year beckons still unknown,
presents an opportunity
To benefit from errors made.
Adopt a different attitude
and try this year to make the grade
By doing as we know we should.
Most New Year resolutions fail.
We make them far too easily.
Regard them as a fairy tale.

Hard Hearted November
A cold grey mist…
Tiptoes aimlessly about
It's only companions
A few scudding clouds
That mill thru the sky
And wander without
And cast shadows
Upon farm fields and wilds
Tis the hard heart of November
A month as indecisive as mist

with the caprice of a witch
Which has by mistake
