Happiness vs Sadness
Like boxers, they must compete every time they hear the bell.
Each one will take and give jabs, dancing round the ring well.
Happiness rules the early rounds, then sadness leaves its mark.
Mid way through the prize fight, things will look stark
For the boxer whose condition isn’t wrought from early days
When mind and matter most respond to influential ways.
The negative of sadness can be a lethal left cross
With its “don’ts” and “cant’s” and “won’t’s”, it guarantees a lasting loss.
But happiness breeds confidence and always keeps in sight
The weaknesses of the opponent and the reason for this fight.
The knock out punch for sadness is unconditional, selfless love
Which will triumph every time without even raising a boxer’s glove.

The final bell rings
The crowd were going crazy
as the two boxers entered the ring
the best fighters in there division
one would be the new boxing king.
The bell rang for the start of the fight
the arena was now at fever pitch
one of these pugilists would be a victor
and become wealthy and stinking rich.
The punches from them both were hard
this was a fight that was brutal and tough
these fighters really meant business
and the rounds were mean and rough.
There was nothing between them both
as the fight went to it's final round
when suddenly one of them collapsed
from being noisy you couldn't hear a sound.
The medics rushed into the blood stained ring
as the boxer lay motionless and deathly White
the referee raised the arm of the new champion
and he was announced as the winner of the fight.
But sadly the loser never ever came round
he died in the hospital that very same night
this brave and courageous warrior lost his life
sadly never again to step into a ring to fight.

Happiness... what is it?
what happiness is actually..
when somebody said.. happiness is when u get your first date..
but I said NO..
we would feel happy
if only we had date with no fight for nothing untill the end...
what happiness is actually..
when somebody said.. happiness is when u get married..
but i said NO..
we are really feel the full of happiness
if only we could keep that feel until we die with our couple...
for the third times I ask:
what happiness is actually...
having child.. somebody said..
yes of course I said..
having child is one of happiness..
but is getting to be deep of sadness..
if only the child is not us anymore...
then... what happiness is actually...
I said for the last time:
happiness is sadness...
happiness is badness...
happiness is madness...
because happiness
is sure will bring us
to the sadness.. badness.. even madness...

The Twin
Happiness is the hidden status
Of expressed sadness
It is the same source
From where happiness
And sadness originate.
Deep sadness enables one
To absorb deep happiness
The drink pot which kisses your lips
Once suffered the fire of potter
Its a game of space and time
Like light and darkness
Sadness and happiness live live together
But expresses in different time.

There Is This Sadness That Brings......
there is this sadness that i want
to give to you
but of course, you shall not accept it
for who is foolish enough
to welcome sadness when all hopes
of our humanity are pinned
on happiness?
but there is this sadness that makes us silent
and responsible upon our own shoulders
there is this sadness that makes us
fully human, and fully alive,
there is this sadness that brings you literature
and poetry
and then all those fame and fortune that you
have been seeking
there is this sadness which has another consequence
the purification of the soul
the everlasting happiness
shall you not take it now?

Happiness And Sadness
Happiness what is it, is it love,
or is it just another sound, another word,
happiness is just another thing,
happiness is just another thing to believe in,
Happiness is only for those who deserve,
those who do not won't get the happiness,
those who are happy I pity them,
they know nothing, nothing about this world,
Happiness is evil, we may not see this,
but its true, happiness is evil in so many ways,
happiness is a disguise for the true world,
the hard, cold, hard loving world we live in today,
Happiness is the only feeling you think you want,
I know it isn't I know the dark secrets of the emotion,
I know its hidden secrets, I know its every lying lies,
happiness so cold and unfair to those who don't have it,
my only emotion I take for granted is sadness,
I find this emotion deep, profound, yet enlightening,
sadness so cold and envious is so true,
the sadness is what we need on this world,
sadness is the true world happiness isn't,
the decision is your, live a dream or live reality,
i'm living reality and i'm in the sadness,
the cold, dark, alone, cruel, all alone sadness....

Everywhere I Am/My Sadness Comes Back To Me
Everywhere I am
My sadness comes back to me-
Sadness it seems
Is part of my essential self
I carry it with me like a signature.
One day perhaps in some perfect heaven
I will not find it within me
But now here in this world
Where even the greatest Goodness and Happiness
May know loss
It is with me always
Even if sometimes only as a possibility-
Sadness goes with me wherever I go
And I am sadness it seems in some of my essence-
Bless the light of the day and the beauty of the world
And those moments of rare exuberance
In which Sadness is not.

Perpetual Happiness
It must not be true
that we are seeking
perpetual happiness.
For happiness filled
the space between sadness
and it is to sadness
we owe our next engagement
with happiness.
You see, sadness is the frame
and happiness- its painting.
(Jember, East Java-Indonesia/November 12th,2007)
Sonnet: Anticipate Woes; Lose not Hope
When sadness goes and joy has replaced it,
Remember Man, ’tis just a transient state;
One’s happiness depends on how you’re hit;
Enjoy as if ’tis not your one life-mate.
Who knows how long the present joys shall last?
Ready thyself for flood of sadness’ might;
Despite one’s hunger, one must always fast;
Both joy and sadness keep your mind’s frame right.
A joyful state can last for days on end,
Nor sadness comes without some joy between;
Live life as if God always is your Friend;
Expect sad things as life is very mean.
Life will adjust no matter, what come may!
Each night will be followed by a new day.

Sadness Is Twilight
SADNESS IS TWILIGHT
Sadness is twilight
Sadness is old age
Sadness is the waiting
For one who will not come-
Sadness is this fading inside
This sinking we cannot define-
Sadness is this sadness
This loss of all meaning
And all rhyme.
Sadness is sadness
Fading and decline.

The Sadness Of Loneliness
THE SADNESS OF LONELINESS
The sadness of loneliness-
I had forgotten it-
I have been away for a long time
But now in the late afternoon
In the quiet and emptiness
Of the usually bustling streets
It comes back to me quietly-
The sadness of loneliness
That we are alone in the world
Each one of us alone
And that sometimes no matter
Where we are
We remember it-
The sadness of loneliness
A Quiet sadness
A sad sadness
A lonely sadness
Alone.

Sometimes In Your Sadness
sometimes in your sadness
the flying sparrows of the fields
are nothing but dry leaves blown by a
very dry wind towards the mountains
in your sorrow the roses blooming
along your paths become nothing but
lumps of mud sticking to their thorny branches
and the leaves are but trash paper
bound for some burning turning to ash
sometimes in your long mourning
you do not see the shining stars
and you wish that the moon and sun
may altogether stop making the nights and days.
you wish total darkness. You like that
everything becomes mute and blind and deaf.
Your friends and those who love you have
became straw men on the rice fields. They
have become to you utterly useless.
Just because the person you love had perished.
Everything has become useless.
The world looks at you and asks: Is there only one
person who is lovable that all those creatures
around you become nothing?
The world understands and mourns with you
only for a while. They have counted the time. They have
waited for so long. They cannot endure sorrow. They
have all other beautiful things to enjoy, joys to savor.
They are impatient now. Sorrow has a beginning. It has
also an end. Sadness cannot be forever. There is no such
thing as overwhelming sorrow.
Now they have contempt for you. The length of your sadness
has exceeded the limits that they have set. The boundaries
of joy, and bliss and happiness have been encroached.
Look over there. There is happiness waiting. There is dancing
over the other fence. They are waiting for you.
Do not frustrate them. They have mourned with you.
And it is over. Now you have to be with them too.
They love life. They like to sing. They like to jump with joy.
Now that you have come back to your senses.
Sadness is over. Let us begin the first step to happiness.

The Greatest Plague
Hate consumes the people of the world like a
plague that kills. Turn to hate we do in times
where things are wrong in thine eyes. Try to
justify it by calling it what you like but in
the end it all amounts to hate. Someone attacks
the weak we go after them claiming justice but
we allow the anger to lead us away. Sorrow can
leads us to hate without a soul even realizing
it. So hate has the ulitmate power in this world
that call home. Hate is everything that does not
envelop love or happiness. We allow more hate
than love in this land. You can call it what you
like. Spite anger sorrow loss sadness jealousy
pain. They all lead down the road to hatred.
The paths may go in different ways but all in
in the same place. Being there alone without
a person to stand at your side. Without the
happiness and joys of life. You can say that
sorrow loss and sadness are not hate but when
you think about it your sorrow can turn feeling
sorrow for a person can turn to hurting another
you feel anger towards those who would not help.
Loss you blame someone or something for taking
someone away from you. Perhaps your loss can
change into seeking vengence. Sadness how could
it turn you wander but sadness it self it loss
and sorrow. When sad you are easily swayed by
one of great influence good or bad. Hate has
the power to do more to us than one can ever
think or imagine. For those who do no see it
just turn the pages back in time and all shall
be revealed then. Hate is destroying us swiftly
one day at a time. Hate is the worlds greatest
plague.

Sadness and Loss/ Come Again And Again
SADNESS AND LOSS/ COME AGAIN AND AGAIN
Sadness and loss
Come again and again
In old age-
Friends all hurt
In various ways.
There is no answer
It will never be
Completely alright again,
As one once dreamed
It could be.
Life is difficult
And will be more difficult.,
But so long as it is still life
We must try to find in it
some love and some happiness.

Poet/bum
There's a thin line between the poet and the bum,
Usually both are broke,
In boxing circles, there's the bum of the month,
And like the poet, considered a joke.
For instance, a poet has to fight for respect,
Like any boxer risking his neck,
The poet fights with words he understands,
The boxer fights with his hands.
Neither fighter can afford to be afraid,
Taking a hit from a move delayed,
Clobbered by critics, or clobbered in the ring,
Can sting.
As remote as it may sound,
They both have to survive the round,
Neither wants to remain the tramp,
Both would choose to be the champ.
They exist on a parallel track,
With no time to look back,
They touch gloves with Heaven and Hell,
In an endless fight till the final bell.

Welcome 2009, Let Happiness Come, And Sadness Too.
you welcome happiness and success
then you must also welcome the ugly ones
and sadness
with equal lengths of your arms
i think, in life, that is fair enough.
there shall be no forced happiness
there shall be no denial of sadness
welcome all, say yes to everything
what is there left for us to choose?

The Sadness comes without Reason
The Sadness comes for so many reasons.

And will always come.

The Sadness.

The Beauty That Resides In Sadness
it is with great sadness that
i write
you a letter,
everything in it is all about sadness
it is not just about us
or you,
it is about the whole massive humanity
that is never drowned
with sadness but struggles in that ocean
of choices and so alone
amidst the
storms and the
other survivors
it is with great sadness that we gather here
and begin to hear
the sounds of all these forms and shapes and
colors of
sadness
i listen to you on an impromptu
and you listen to me
with all patience and with all sadness we embrace ourselves
share sadness with hugs and
at the end
we are filled with so much beauty
feeling so beautiful with
these massive sadness that
never leaves us free
we are bound, and yet when we face ourselves in the mirror of
ourselves
my goodness, we are so
beautiful

My Words Of Wisdom For Those Of Loss
if loss is for times of grief and tears
then smiles are for times of happiness
but why not smile for sadness and happiness
for you know that once you have past it is nothing but happiness
and it should be for the ones of remembrance as well
the ones left behind here with others just beginning there lives get to keep the memories of the days when you were still around

Are You Sad?
You sound so sad,
Are you really
Sad?
Is your garden
Without any
Flower?
I am sad.
You doubt the sound
Of
My sadness?
What does
Sadness really
Sound
Like?
Does it sound like
A seagull’s journey
Along soundless
Stream on a
A dimming orange
Sunset, at the
Sea’s
Horizon
Homeward bound
Alone?
Is sadness in
True sadness
Sound at
All?
Is sadness not the
Maimed mouth
& death of the
Tongue?
The sound of my sadness
Is the sound of your
Sadness
You read me
In between
Some lines
In that imaginary
Phrase
Perhaps if you look for
Some flowers, or
Even a single flower
In-there
You may find it
If you really
Insists
But
You have to put
The flower
Yourself
Out-there
Sowing the seed
Of sensitivities
Who knows
If later, happiness
Grows
Like some unwanted
Weeds &
They would be many,
Not just one.

As we bask in sorrow
While recently having a conversation with a friend, we discussed 'basking in sorrow, ' which by definition, is an oxymoron.. bask meaning to take great pleasure or satisfaction; and sorrow meaning loss or despair.
It is possible to bask in sorrow. While for one reason or another, sadness consumes you, at the same time you could be quite happy. For example; I am naturally a happy person. Therefor while I may feel constant sadness about a certain situation, I may still be basking; or somewhat happy. (smiling, laughing, having a good time)
Many people have a sadness inside them that is hidden, or in the back of their mind at all times. These people are probably happy, can have fun, and seem to be in good cheer, while the sadness is still there, in their minds or hearts.
Therefor; we bask in sorrow.
Here we sit and bask in sorrow
Secretly begging for the morrow
A smile upon the outside face
Strength that shows as we run our race
Happiness is never too far away
Genuine cheer throughout the day
But a certain sadness wears us down
And being alone makes us frown
For this is what causes our heartache and grief
It hides under smiles, the sly little thief
So though we are basking in our sorrow today
We might soon find something to keep it at bay
