Epitaph
I loved again after i lost.
I spoke out in spite of cost.
As a parent i did my best.
As a parent i was blessed.
I made my share of mistakes.
I had my share of breaks.
I tried to change the world a touch.
Someone else must say how much.
If i could do it once again,
I’d still be earth’s luckiest man.

The Luckiest Guy In The World
Ive got a secret I keep in my heart
A secret that sure makes me smile
And Ive got a feeling deep down in my soul
That I havent felt in a while
Ive found somebody that really does love me
And I know that shell always stay
Im the luckiest guy in the world
cause my heart feels this way
We watch old movies and cry at the endings
And get lost in each others eyes
We hold hands when were walking and
Spend all night talking and make love as the sun starts to rise
Shes found somebody that really does love her
And she knows that Ill always stay
Im the luckiest guy in the world
cause her heart feels this way
We share the same hopes
We dream the same dreams
Oh lifelong companions Id say
Im the luckiest guy in the world
cause our hearts feel this way
Im the luckiest guy in the world
cause our hearts feel this way

Be a child-parent-adult
To the child, it is a day.
To the parent, it is a night.
To the adult both are inclusive.
The child lives in fantasy.
The parent lives in fallacy.
It is the adult that lives,
Where he is put, in ecstasy.
The child admires things.
The parent criticizes them.
The adult realizes them.
The child appreciates.
The parent deprecates.
The adult rationalizes.
The poet is the child in man.
The priest is the parent in man.
The logician is the adult in man.
Live a child to be youthful.
Live a parent to be awesome.
Live an adult to be credible.

Willing To Share
Men will not care what you know, if God’s love you don’t show,
Showing His love in all you do, as His Spirit works through you,
While living for God in this life, truly showing the Love of Christ,
Showing others you truly care, by stepping out for Him to share,
This as you share resources with, others through your loving gift.
When the Lord blesses you, you can share that blessing through,
The reaching out to others who, aren’t as blessed as me and you,
Willing for God, to pay the cost, by extending love to others lost,
Knowing Him, Who paid the price, our life too, can be a sacrifice,
Sharing what Christ has given us, shouldn’t become a major fuss.
For all we have, was given by, the One who came, to earth to die,
The pattern for both you and me, so His Love is what people see,
So gifts of help may open the door, to share the Gift of our Lord,
As we help others in many ways, giving to Him the ultimate praise,
Willing to share, as living proof, we want to share The Living Truth.
Although God’s Truth may offend, we must be to all, a real friend,
Let the love of God abound, to share the Truths of God we found,
For all need God’s Living Bread; without it, they’re spiritually dead,
Separated from God, Eternally, so Eternal Truth, they need to see,
So when given a chance in this life, we need to share Jesus Christ.

Re-route for Love
It is said that people
Can't make you mad.
that was not said of granddad's.
Children who are lazy or just plain slow
Add fire to anger as they go.
Love prevails most of the time,
Keeping your anger from crime.
Do this! do that!
over and over...
While the children are getting phat,
From food that they never buy
And if you ask them....they ask why?
Makes a grown person want to cry.
Not doing...and they are not shy,
They rush up and out of bed...
Marching right pass what the parent
Has said.
Both hands out...
When either is filled they want to pout.
Then the parent wants to shout...
But the parent,
Remembering no one can make you mad...
Damn! being a real parent is so sad.
Do this! do that!
While they re-act as if they are a slave,
And all the while sending the parent to his or her grave.
They are only... ask to repeat a smalltask...
But inside they wonder why they are asked.
That is when the real parent stands tall
It is not the anger but the love of it all...
God gave us free will
And we know not to kill...
But to chill.

Art of Share
Food of soul, wave of smile
Kiss of dream, fire of will
Cry of happiness, feather of hope
Share a part of your emotion
To family, to stranger
To lover, to flamer
To the superstar, to the poor
Share a part of your affection
Bedtime story, respect recipe
Hidden plea, open sea
Living fantasy, world sympathy
Share a part of your thought
With sincerity, with motivation
With sacrifice, with self proof
With energy, with goody
Share a part of your own
Long experience, piece of friendship
Faith support, courageous words
Inspiration window, freedom way
Share a part of your action
From similarity, from difference
From the joy, from the pain
From your favor, from your lack
Share a part of your strength
Because we need somebody else
Because we want to make them happy
Because we could learn to be better
O parent, teach kindness to the children well!

The Support Group
Every second Tuesday sun or rain
We all gather together to share our pain
Grieving for our children who have died
And letting out all the pain inside
There for each other we all know
That nothing else can hurt a parent so
Than the death of a daughter or a son
Sand we all share that pain with every other one
We do our best to help each other cope
Together we find that there still is hope
Although life will never be the same
Teardrops fall as I say my daughter's name
Thank you all for being there
And understanding the pain that I share
For sharing all your pain with me
Thart I'm not alone you've helped me see

All the time a person is a child he is both a child and learning to be a parent. After he becomes a parent he becomes predominantly a parent reliving childhood.

The abduction of a child is a tragedy. No one can fully understand or appreciate what a parent goes through at such a time, unless they have faced a similar tragedy. Every parent responds differently. Each parent copes with this nightmare in the best way he or she knows how.

It was extremely hard going from being a parent of one to a parent of three, because now all these instant decisions have to be made about how you balance out the time and attention between them.

This part of being a man, changing the way we parent, happens only when we want it to. It changes because we are determined for it to change; and the motive for changing often comes out of wanting to be the kind of parent we didn't have.

Monkey money
When my son,
all blushing youth,
had a wish
I made it my adventure
to grant it.
When he wished for ice cream,
I got two scoops,
cold rounds of heaven,
so we could share the sweetness
because I like ice cream too.
When, eyes bright and innocent,
he wanted to play,
we'd explore Candyland together
and eat candy together
so that I could give him the full experience
of a world made of candy.
As he grew older,
he started wishing for money
even though he didn't know what it was,
and I convinced him
that the plastic monkeys
from the barrel were worth $10 apiece.
He always felt rich
and I got to keep my money
without being a disappointing parent
for a change.

Hold On Lynette The Horses Are Coming
Lynette was a beautiful baby
A true joy to her ma and pa
Free from oriningal sin she was
The whole family was in awe
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
One day she woke with fever
There was snow and wind and cold
The car was stuck at the end of the drive
To the doctor they could not go
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
Quick hook-up the team and the sleigh
By horse she'll surely make it
Hold on Lynette the horses are coming
Let's take some time to say how much we love you
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
Manes a flyin' tales a whippin'
The horse's plowed right through
Muscles a bulgin' and hides a sweating
Let's take some time to say how much we love you
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
Well by horse they surely made it
By horse they surely did
Just in time to tell them
There was nothing they could do for her
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
She was loved loved loved
Well, for all those ma's and pa's out there
Who've lost their little ones
This songs not about a child dying
It's of a parent's love
One day on earth is just the same
as one year or fifty or a hundred
The only difference my friends
Is in the love you been giving and receiving
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Love love love
Hold on Lynette the horses are coming
Let's take some time to say how much we love you

All My Roads
Looking back from where I stand tonight
I wouldnt change a thing about my life
Wrong turns I had to take back in those crazy years
Could not have been mistakes if they brought me here
cause all my roads have led me to
This night, this love I share with you
And though the road was never smooth
Life has made me someone who
Could be the right someone for you
I dont regret a single broken heart
That taught me what love is and what its not
Someone must have planned our two paths would cross
I couldnt see it then but I was never lost
cause all my roads have led me to
This night, this love I share with you
And though the road was never smooth
Life has made me someone who
Could be the right someone for you
Detours, dead ends, endless explorations
You were my only destination
cause all my roads have led me to
This night, this love I share with you
And though the road was never smooth
Life has made me someone who
Could be the right someone for you

Please, Teach Me
Teach me well the child did say
As to its parent they did speak
As I want to grow up to be the best I can,
So please to me, wont you teach.
I want to learn and I want to be taught
To be the best that I really can,
And when I get older and I am on my own
I will thank you, for creating who I am.
I don't want to lie and I don't want to cheat
And I want everyone to me proud of me
An honest and loyal person I wanna be known
And I want to be as smart as I can be.
I want to be truthful and I want to be trusted
To all my family and my friends
I want devotion to be my middle name
And I want to know nothing of evil and or sin.
You are the one that will affect my life
The child said to its parent as they spoke
Whatever I become, it will be because of you
Whether I swear, or drink, or even smoke.
And when I get older will I be like you
And will I ever have a family of my own
Will I be the roll model for my children then
Or will I leave them when they are all alone.
And when you get older and your hair is gray
The child said to its parent that it loved
Will I turn out the way I wish I didn't
And will you pray for help from GOD above.
The child said its prayer as it went to bed
And then closed its eyes as it went to sleep
Please be the model from which I will learn, they said
And please for me, wont you teach.

The truth of the matter is, you lose a parent to murder when you're 10 years old, and in fact at the time of the murder you hate your lost parent, my mother in my case.

Share
Whether you have a million shares or one share,
You share in life’s the same.
You share some of its benefits
As well as some of its blame.
The real difference for you is if you share your share.
That will decide if your life really has been fair.
Be it a million shares or one share, your responsibility
Is to find here on earth where you can share
For your share of eternity.

Love Is The Price
RAP 1:
BABY'S IN THE PARLOUR
WAITING FOR THE RAIN
BEATING LIKE A HAMMER
WASHING OUT HER PAIN
CLEARING LIKE THE ONE
SEVEN YEARS AGO
WHEN HER FIRST BIG LOVE
MELTED LIKE SNOW
BACK THEN SHE DOUBET
IF SHE WOULD EVER FIND A MAN
WHO COULD LOVE HER THAT WAY
THE SAME WAY AGAIN
AND JUST WHEN SHE THOUGHT
SHE'S LIVING IN VAIN
THE MAN OF HER DREAMS
CAME LIKE THE RAIN
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRICE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 2:
THEY SPOKE ABOUT HER DREAMS
THEY SPOKE ABOUT LOVE
THEY SPOKE ABOUT THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
HE HAD THE KEY-WORD
FOR EVERYTHING SHE FELT
SO IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
TILL HE GOT HER NAILED
PIN ONE'S HOPE ON SOMEONE ELSES LIFE
AND ALL YOUR DREAMS
WILL HURT YOU LIKE A KNIFE
SHE SOON GOT LOST
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRIZE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 3:
SHE DIDN'T TRUST THAT VERY FIRST MAN
TO COME INTO HER LIFE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
WHAT NOBODY EVER COULD BEFORE
HE ONLY MADE HER SEE
THERE IS SOMETHING MORE
TO LEARN ABOUT FREEDOM
TO LEARN ABOUT LOVE
TO HANDLE ALL THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
TO ALWAYS FOLLOW WHAT SHE REALLY FELT INSIDE
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

The Peach
Mamma gave us a single peach,
She shared it among seven;
Now you may think that unto each
But a small piece was given.
Yet though each share was very small,
We owned when it was eaten,
Being so little for us all
Did its fine flavour heighten.
The tear was in our parent's eye,
It seemed quite out of season;
When we asked wherefore she did cry,
She thus explained the reason:-
'The cause, my children, I may say,
Was joy, and not dejection;
The peach, which made you all so gay,
Gave rise to this reflection:
'It's many a mother's lot to share,
Seven hungry children viewing,
A morsel of the coarsest fare,
As I this peach was doing.'

The Promise Of A New Day
(p. lord / s. st. victor / v.j. smith / p. abdul)
Eagles calling
And hes calling your name
Tides are turning bringing winds of change
Why do I feel this way
The promise of a new day
Chorus:
The promise
The promise of a new day
As thru time
The earth moves
Under my feet
One step closer
To make love complete
What has the final say
The promise of a new day
And so time over time
What will change the world
No one knows
So the only promise
Is a day to live, to give
And share with one another
See the wisdom
From mistakes in our past
Hear the younger
Generation ask
Why do I feel this way
The promise of a new day
Chorus
And so time over time
What will change the world
No one knows
So the only promise
Is a day to live, to give
And share with one another
Repeat song
