Decay

Another crop, another farm
Yields to greed’s obscene strong arm.
Each day another field surrenders
To cement and shiny fenders.

Another mountain sadly hacked
As more beauty is ransacked.
One more ragged coyote’s lair
Disappears without a care.

An ever larger cloud of dust
Hides economic lust.
Clean air’s replaced by maudlin fumes
As hammers hammer more new rooms.

Monster mansions bought aboard
By thousands who can’t afford
To pause or rest for a breath,
Since that would mean financial death.

These million dollar monsters bought
By those thousands who have sought
To appear the chosen few
As evidenced by the public’s view.

But in private, worry and concern
Make a flurry as would-bes earn
Just enough for the next bill
By ringing dry their monthly till.

How long can this disaster last?
With resources sagging fast,
Nature and markets will strain to live.
Our offspring, with reason, won’t forgive!

Bells Ringing

bells ringing...
thousands and thousands
of bells.... ringing....

the chorus of crows,
the sound of the whip
cracking on thousands

of backs, , ,
black and white,
brown and red....

the fat-bellied ticket taker
stands with hand outstretched...
cant pay the fare... cant ride....

left standing on the corner
of lost, and nameless.
marching to death, leaving

no trace, no footprints....
the bastard children of freedom,
no home to return to....

look up, look up!
the skies full of wings!
bells are ringing!

thousands and thousands
of bells... and each one
has a name!

Manners count

It is your dress, cleanliness and manner,
Not your skin, countenance, and glamour,
That earns you a woman’s concern.

Your clean mind, clean teeth, clean habit,
Not your muscles, jewels and wallet
Are which earn you a woman’s concern.

Be your manner and calls above her reproach.
Refrain from over care and over indulgence.
Then you will have earned a woman’s concern.

You lend her your ear and not eye.
You tend her passion, not her lust.
You will have won her concern.

If you have no concern for women,
If you have no woman’s concern,
Then no use of you being born.

Lips of Greed

I had no idea how thick their lips of greed were!
I just 'assumed' everyone was making a fashion statement.

'Where have you been?
Greed has been all over the news for years.'

So has botox and lip injections.

'Wait a minute!
I thought you said you had been bitten by a 'wasp'! '

I was!
It was the same one who did the injections and the botox.
For thousands.
And I mean THOUSANDS.

'Is that how you managed to lose so much weight?
Because your lips had become so huge?
I didn't want to say anything before.
But your lips are noticeably gigantic.'

Yeah,
But I wanted them to appear natural.
Like the others who you said,
Believed they could attract success.
Because they had 'lips of greed'.

'WHAT?
I was using that as a metaphor.'

A meta-4?
What's a meta for?

'People like you would kill themselves for a dollar.'

I wish you had said something,
Before my lips became big as pillows.

'Don't worry about it!
I am surprised you haven't smothered yourself,
Already.'

Are you suggesting something?

Poor Gandhian

A Gandhian by name ‘Saheeman’
Aged about ninety nine
Called on officer Mr.Suborn
And complained with great concern
“Your subordinate Mr.Paisaman
Demanded thousands fifteen
For sanctioning my pension
Oh God! What’s happening to my nation”
Mr.Suborn thought for minutes ten
Scratching his coarse skin
And said “He is a greedy swine
I’ll teach him a good lesson
Don’t worry my old gentleman
I’ll see your job is done
With less than half the strain
Give me just thousands seven.”

Of An Earthly Utopia

Of an Earthly Utopia all hope has not gone
The dream of peace and freedom from hunger it is living on
The flower of peace though not blooming it has not yet died
And the dream of Utopia cannot be destroyed
Those who try to detroy our Planet through their lust of greed
At the destruction of Nature cannot hope to succeed
When the last human being in eternal rest lay
Mother Nature will live on in her natural way
And since climate change is happening all around me
An Earthly Utopia i may not live to see
For the health of Mother Nature we do not seem to care
We pollute her lands and her oceans and her rivers and air
But for our crimes against her Nature us can forgive
And despite our greed the dream of Utopia does live.

Fairy Dust

Here
See the little queer
There's a volunteer
Dont you think he should get a haircut now
Like in the Marines
All the magazines
Got a way for everyone to shape up
You don't wanna fall behind
Choking on a cloud of fairy dust - fairy dust
Now it's only greed and lust
And pride and lust
And a few other sins
No
See the cherry lips
Hands on the hips
Anyone would your name was Oscar Wilde
Think you're pretty smart
Poetry and art
Put him testosterone and vodka
calling for the man of steel
to blow you faggots into fairy dust - fairy dust
now it's only greed and lust
and pride and lust
and a few other sins
we're
happy to be gay
showing you the way
gotta get your head your hear you toso hard
join another gym
loose your pseudonym
soon we'll all be strait but only more so
tell me who's you're gonna find
to spinkle on a little fairy dust - fairy dust
now it's only greed and lust
and pride and lust
and a few other sins

The One And Only Immortal

Those who do love Nature are blessed indeed
For all of her friends our Earth Mother does need
The one every life form on Planet Earth does feed
Has been made to suffer due to human greed
The greedy for financial gain her beauty try to destroy
A beauty that is meant for all to enjoy
For their crimes humanity may have to pay
That does seem a sad thing for to have to say
The beauty of Nature is an amazing thing
And her praises one ought to feel happy to sing
The one who will be here long after to nothingness we've gone
The only immortal will be living on
And we who abuse her for our financial greed
Are not very clever and self destructive indeed.

Redemption

Having been tenant long to a rich lord,
Not thriving, I resolved to be bold,
And make a suit unto him, to afford
A new small-rented lease, and cancel the old.
In heaven at his manor I him sought;
They told me there that he was lately gone
About some land, which he had dearly bought
Long since on earth, to take possession.
I straight returned, and knowing his great birth,
Sought him accordingly in great resorts;
In cities, theaters, gardens, parks, and courts;
At length I heard a ragged noise and mirth
Of thieves and murderers; there I him espied,
Who straight, Your suit is granted, said, and died.

She Bought A Hat Like Princess Marina

Shes bought a hat like princess marinas
To wear at all her social affairs
She wears it when shes cleaning the windows
She wears it when shes scrubbing the stairs
But you will never see her at ascot
She cant afford the time or the fare
But shes bought a hat like princess marinas
So she dont care
Hes bought a hat like anthony edens
Because it makes him feel like a lord
But he cant afford a rolls or a bentley
He has to buy a secondhand ford
He tries to feed his wife and his family
And buy them clothes and shoes they can wear
But hes bought a hat like anthony edens
So he don t care
Buddy can you spare me a dime
My wife is getting hungry
And the kids are crying
This poverty is hurting my pride
Buddy can you spare me, buddy can you spare me a dime
Shes bought a hat like princess marinas
And her neighbors think it suits her a treat
But she hasnt any food in the larder
Nor has anybody else in the street
But to look at her youd think she was wealthy
cos she smiles just like a real millionaire
cos shes bought a hat like princess marinas
So she dont care, she dont care, she dont care, she dont care

The Federal Bus Conductor and the Old Lady

Now 'urry, Mrs New South Wales, and come along of us,
We're all a-goin' ridin' in the Federation 'bus.
A fam'ly party, don't you know -- yes, Queenslans's comin', too,
You can't afford it! Go along! We've kep' box seat for you.
The very one of all the lot that can afford it best,
You'll only have to pay your share the same as all the rest.
You say your sons is workin' men, and can't afford to ride!
Well, all our sons is workin' men, a-smokin' up outside.
You think you might be drove to smash by some unskilful bloke!
Well, ain't we all got necks ourselves? And we don't want 'em broke.
You bet your lofe we're not such fools but what we'll do our best
To keep from harm -- for harm to one is harm to all the rest.

Now, don't go trudgin' on alone, but get aboard the trap;
That basket, labelled "Capital", you take it in your lap!
It's nearly time we made a start, so let's 'ave no more talk:
You 'urry up and get aboard, or else stop out and walk.
We've got a flag; we've got a band; out 'orses travels fast;
Ho! Right away, Bill! Let 'em go! The old 'un's come at last!

Alimony

Alimony alimony I work till my fingers are bloody and boney
Me oh my oh goodness sake I'm paying for my mistake
She calls it alimony alimony yeah you single men may think it's funny
Till one of these days you're gonna wake and find you're payin' for your mistake

Pom pom I walk around ragged like a low-down bum
I can't afford to weigh myself or buy a stick of gum
It's the same old story with a little more blues in it
I'm payin' for it while someone else is usin' it
Alimony alimony I thought I bought steak and it was all baloney
My heart and back are both about to break from payin' for my mistake yeah
[ harmonica ]
Yeah I walk around ragged like a low down bum
I can't afford to weigh myself or buy a stick of gum
Why it's the same old story with a little more blues in it
I'm payin' for it while someone else is usin' it
Alimony alimony thought I bought steak and it was just baloney
And every penny that I make goes to payin' for my mistake

Oh yeah payin' for my mistake every Wednesday
Yeah aw come on baby y'know it's your mistake too yeah
They took all the furniture and everything come on
Why maybe we could sorta pitch in and work it out y'know
I mean I could get a third job if that's what you want I mean
What about sellin' my blood y'know

There Are Thousands And Thousands

there are thousands and thousands of poems
written everyday in this world where we, whether we like it or not,
still continue living, breathing, writing, sighing,
whatever that we do, singing, bathing, playing, mourning,
there are thousands and thousands of poems
thousands of us, doing the same boring things in this world,

you are one of us, we are us, us, us, us,
thousands, and trillions, we are us,

despite, i have my ears for you, my eyes,
all for you.

Leave Nature's Resources With Nature

I'm one of the many who does love Nature though Nature does need every friend
Of late she is not looking healthy otherwise why should we pretend
That all is well in Nature's Garden when all is not well there at all
Our crimes against Nature are many and any crime against Nature not small.

For our senseless polluting of Nature the price yet may be huge to pay
To our Earth Mother the one who does feed us we act in a disrespectful way
We pollute our natural environment with the resources we steal from Earth Mother that does not seem clever to me
Leave Nature's precious resources with Nature at least that is how it should be.

Humankind as a species quite successful that does go without any doubt
Yet when I say to some we are not friends of Nature they say to me what are you on about
They see no wrong in digging up the ground for it's resources or stealing oil from the floor of the sea
They are entitled to their opinions though we all look at things differently.

The Polar ice caps slowly melting and climate change is Worldwide
the talks of an Economic Depression have pushed Global warming to the side
But the financial economy is built on Nature and to Nature all of us belong
And 'twould seem in our dealings with Nature that we have our priorities wrong.

the Seated Dollar

(Murder of Wild Bill Hitchcock,08/02/76)

He tossed it down upon the bar,
careless of its worth and weight.
To ease his thirst required Whiskey
Then he’d find a woman for a “date”.

Saddle weary and in pain
From the Long and Dusty trail
Bill had rode hard to reach Cheyenne
to rest his boot on this bar rail.

His fate that day did not include
A decent bath or indecent touch-
The Men he gambled with grew angry
His fast gun hand –not fast enough

Someone grabbed that silver dollar
Not bothering to check the date.
The body, whitened with death’s pallor, .
the dead man’s hand; the Aces and Eights.

The seasons turned and turned again
Whole generations turned to dust
The pilfered dollar was collected
Inherited, passed on in Trust.

I lay it gently on the velvet
Careful of its worth and weight
my seated Dollar set requires
a specimen of this grade and date
.

Faery Song

Sung by the people of Faery over Diarmuid and Grania, in their bridal sleep under a Cromlech.

We who are old, old and gay,
O so old!
Thousands of years, thousands of years,
If all were told:

Give to these children, new from the world,
Silence and love;
And the long dew-dropping hours of the night,
And the stars above:

Gie to these children, new from the world,
Rest far from men.
Is anything better, anything better?
Tell us it then:

Us who are old, old and gay,
O so old!
Thousands of years, thousands of years,
If all were told.

Having-Less-Is-More

Money isn't 'everything' you know?

'Ooooohhh mon ami,
Big dummy you!

YOUR money may not be 'everything'.
Or not nearly what it use to be.
However...
SOMEWHERE someone is spending it,
Caring less about your limitation.
Or who has good or bad or indifferent credit.
And they have yet to accept greed as a motive,
To live a happy life! '

I am not referring to foreigners,
I am talking about us...
Living today in 'this' country.

'Oh?
I see.
So you've already adopted,
That 'Having-Less-Is-More' attitude?
Good for you.
You make me proud.
But as for me...
Give me a ten dollar bill anytime.
Even a five dollar bill,
Seems less than a dollar these days.'

The Dog In Me

There is a dog in me, no one knows
But I know, he knows the taste of bones,
The legs of power he licks well
In satisfaction he wags his tail
He barks not to bite but in praise
He utters always some chosen phrase
He is very faithful to the affluent
And quickly smell who is influential
He never walks but runs very fast
No option left but to chain his greed and lust
I can not let him die on the road and dust
A sinful death, his nature is very harmful for society
Now to teach him some moral lessons is my priority.

Anna Hazare’s Crusade against Corruption in India

Anna wants a Lokpal bill strong
Anna wants a Lokpal bill fast
Anna wants a Lokpal bill full
Anna wants a Lokpal bill now

Anna wants a Lokpal bill by fast
Anna wants a Lokpal bill first
Anna wants a Lokpal bill for all
Anna wants a Lokpal bill – his call

Anna wants a Lokpal bill now
Anna wants a Lokpal bill without delay
Anna wants a Lokpal bill, come what may
Anna wants a Lokpal bill even if it means death.

There is no turning back
There is no giving up the fast
There is no fear of arrest
There is no worry about death

For,
India needs an anti-corruption bill
India is monetarily seriously ill
India needs the honesty drill
India has its wealth outside but inside will

Bring the bill
Heed people’s will
Give them the fill
Heal those hearts ill.

Victory to India; victory to Lokpal Bill; victory to Anna!

One Hit Wonder

They call you the one hit wonder
If I could just hit you right
Yeah right between yeah right between
Your eyes
If ever a girlie wonder
Could ever be more than just
One thing yeah more than one
Thing at a time

I give you my four leaf clover
Cause God only knows that is
The only one the only one
Of mine
And you'll hear it over and over
Until it is built right in yeah right into
Your filthy little mind

I own the world
I bought the whole damn world
From the man who sold the world
A million dollar caddy world

So could you just bend right over?
To see how it feels to be
To see just how it feels
To be alive

And you'll get it over and over
Cause God only knows that is
The only one the only one
Of mine

I own the world
I bought the whole damn world
From the man who sold the world
A million dollar cranky world
