We Live, Work And Play (Roundelay)

In life people play their own kind of games
call each other dear or some hurting names
and the world to its very final end
is in a way that no one can ever mend.

We live, work and sometimes joyfully play
right through the year each and every day
and secretively our own lives do bend,
is in a way that no one can ever mend.

Still we want to be honest and quite true
in all the small things that we daily do
but self centred are the time we do spend;
is in a way that no one can ever mend.

Your Turn To Remember

I was always the one
Who did the thinkin'
It was me, i'm sorry
I who made the plans
There was never a thought
We might do somethin' between us
It's so clear i think
I'm beginning to understand
I was the one who had to
Lay it out and pay it out
I would work all night
Even though i wanted to
Play out and stay out
Now it's your turn to remember
And it's your turn
To try to understand
But you never would, would you?
When the time came
For stayin' together
You refused to even
Talk about for ever
It was easy telling me
You love me
And i was a little late in
Finding out the truth
The rule of love was there
You had to bend it
Now the damage is done
It's impossible to mend it
I can't mend it
Now it's your turn to remember
It's your turn to feel a little pain
I feel a little better
Talkin' about her
Yet her memory's not good for me
The skies are not so grey now
I've found a new tune to play now
It's a better song
It'll be followin' on
And when the time came
For stayin' together
You refused to even
Talk about for ever
It was easy telling me
You love me
And i was a little late in
Finding out the truth
The rule of love was there
But you had to bend it
Now the damage is done
It's impossible to mend it
You know i can't mend it
Come on babe
It's your turn to remember
Your turn to feel a little pain

How Can You Mend A Broken Heart

I can think of younger days
When living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do?
I could never see tomorrow
But I was never told about the sorrow
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart
And let me live again
I can still feel the breeze
That rustles through the trees
And misty memories do days gone by
We could never see tomorrow
No one said a word about the sorrow
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you stop the rain from falling down?
How can you stop the sun from shining?
What makes the world go round?
How can you mend this broken man?
How can a loser ever win?
Please help me mend my broken heart
And let me live again

Games People Play

(lead vocal - lenny zakatek)
Where do we go from here now that all other children are growin up
And how do we spend our lives if theres noone to lend us a hand
I dont wanna live here no more, I dont wanna stay
Aint gonna spend the rest of my life, quietly fading away
Games people play, you take it or you leave it
Things that they say, honor brite
If I promise you the moon and the stars, would you believe it
Games people play in the middle of the night
Where do we go from here now that all of the children have grown up
And how do we spend our lives knowin nobody gives us a damn
I dont wanna live here no more, I dont wanna stay
Aint gonna spend the rest of my life, quietly fading away
Games people play, you take it or you leave it
Things that they say, just dont make it right
If Im telling you the truth right now, do you believe it
Games people play in the middle of the night
Games people play, you take it or you leave it
Things that they say, honor brite
If I promise you the moon and the stars, would you believe it
Games people play in the middle of the night

Fly

Set yourself on a movie screen
play any part or be anything
know what i mean
its all about right its all
its all about wrong
about you and me and how to get along
ya gotta wake up
work hard and take a deep breath
open your heart and never forget

ya gotta fly
break the chains that bind you to the ground and try
to let it go be happy with what you found
fly mend your broken wing so you can take flight
and if you wanna go I'll go there with ya tonight

ya gotta fly
break the chains that bind you to the ground and try
to let it go be happy with what you found
fly mend your broken wing so you can take flight
and if you wanna go I'll go there with ya tonight
ya gotta fly yah just FLY!

i remember walkin down rodeo drive
when i was younger
i used to push the limits of life
but when i grew somthing changed inside
i saw the color of money take over so many lives
i know alot of us would like to believe
but theres too many of us thats parted by prejudice
when you look in the mirror who do you see
is it somebody else
or who you really wanna be

ya gotta fly
break the chains that bind you to the ground and try
to let it go be happy with what you found
fly mend your broken wing so you can take flight
and if you wanna go I'll go there with ya tonight

ya gotta fly
break the chains that bind you to the ground and try
to let it go be happy with what you found
fly mend your broken wing so you can take flight
and if you wanna go I'll go there with ya tonight
ya gotta fly yah just FLY!

not always easy livin in a world of pain
got me running into brickwalls again and again
ya say you need a break and a change from this life

ya gotta fly
break the chains that bind you to the ground and try
to let it go be happy with what you found
fly mend your broken wing so you can take flight
and if you wanna go I'll go there with ya tonight
ya gotta fly yah just FLY!

When the Pain Begun Begins to Mend

When the pain begun begins to mend,
The sky is brighter.
The clouds then start to drift.
The rain dries and the thunder stops.

When the pain begun begins to mend,
A freshness occurs.
The Sun invites a rendezvous.
Just to sit with it,
And feel...
A soothing come over you.

When the pain begun begins to mend,
And you are there...
Ready to be healed,
Feeling a once broken heart...
Being pieced back together,
Completely.

When the pain begun begins to mend,
You are prepared to forget.
Wanting to forgive.
And wishing to be forgiven.
When the pain begun begins to mend!

The Last Worthless Evening

I know you broke up with him
And your hearts still on the shelf
Its been over two years for me
And Im still not quite myself
You cant be with someone new
And you cant go back to him
Youre beginning to realize
That its sink or swim
I see you around sometimes
And my heart just melts
Youre lookin like if you had your wish
Youd be somewhere else
And it just breaks my heart
To see you here this way
Someday Ill get the nerve
To walk up to you and say
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
cause Ill be there
When your broken heart is on the mend
Every night its the same old crowd
In smoky rooms
You catch a faint glimpse of love sometimes
But it never blooms
Ive been around this block a time or two
And Ive made some big mistakes
But girl I promise you, I promise you
That this is the worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
cause it wont be long
till your little heart is on the mend
People inside their houses
With the shades pulled down
God knows, we could use some romance
In this sleepy bedroom town
I know youre still afraid to rush into anything
But therere just so many summers
And just so many springs
And this is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance to show you how
To love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend, baby
cause Ill be there when your broken heart
Is on the mend
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance, gimme a chance
To show you how to love again

Lets Mend Whats Been Broken

We started out with a new love
And we thought we had more control
And as it turned to an old love
Bad times started to unfold
Now I dont want to let you go
And I dont want it to ever end
So if feelings have been torn and if hearts have been broken
Lets put it back together again
Ooh, weve got to
Lets mend whats been broken
You and me, me and you
Lets mend whats been broken
Ooh, yeah
Now Im not ready for new love
cause you make my life so complete
And if theres any problem
I know we wont suffer deeply
cause I dont want to let you go
I dont want it to ever end
So if feelings have been torn and if hearts have been broken
Lets put it back together again
Uh-huh, weve got to
Lets mend whats been broken
Me and you, you and me
Lets mend whats been broken
Ooh, yeah
Dont throw it all away
Lets keep this love in every way
Mend my heart, my achin heart
The thought of a brand new start tears me all apart
The love weve got, dont let it end
We can put it back together again
[and lets do it]
[lets do it]
Lets mend whats been broken [lets get to it]
Lets mend whats been broken [lets get to it]
[lets do it]
[lets do it]
[lets do it]
[lets do it]
[lets do it]
[lets get to it]
Lets mend whats been broken [lets get to it]
You and me
Lets mend whats been broken [lets get to it]
I know our love has got to be

Silver Threads & Golden Needles

Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
And Ill never drown my sorrow in the warm glow of your wine.
You cant buy my love with money, for I never was that kind,
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine.
Go ahead!
I dont want your golden mansions with a tear in every room,
All I wants the love you promised, beneath the halo moon.
But you think I should be happy with your money and your name
And hide myself in sorrow while you play your cheatin game.
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
And Ill never drown my sorrow in the warm glow of your wine.
You cant buy my love with money, for I never was that kind,
Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine.

Say When

(john rich/paul nelson/larry boone)
Your hearts been broken, you dont wanna open up to me
But cant you see
All that youre needing is someone to believe in you
And when you are no longer afarid
Darlin Ill be just one word away
Say when, Ill be there by your side
For a day, for a year, for the rest of my life
I know youre not ready
But someday your hearts gonna mend
Ill give you love without end
Say when
Could be tomorrow, maybe a little farther down the road
Your heart will know
My love is timeless and youre gonna find its true
And no matter how long it takes
If it means holding you I can wait
Say when, Ill be there by your side
For a day, for a year, for the rest of my life
I know youre not ready
But someday your hearts gonna mend
Ill give you love without end
Say when
I know youre not ready
But someday your hearts gonna mend
Ill give you love without end
Say when, say when

Painful Games

Is there a time in life where games aren't played
hearts and lives not broken
many get hurt, some never recover
pushed to loneliness, damaged
how these games are play can vary
abuse, cheating, mind control
are there ways out?
yes for some, healing will come
many regrets, lots of sorry
but will it end, not by chance
it's a pitiful cycle, round and round
fights a cure, words are said
many bad, but not meant
heat of the moment, argue rages
spirits and love broken
can they be mend, only time can tell
forgiveness, trust are the hardest to repair
love is lost, hearts are broken
marriages ended, lives never the same
these games are pains
why must they be played
they must be broken and buried
love and respect will be gained
trust will bring happiness
stop these game before love is gone
we can not replace the hurt, it must heal slowing
work together, find a way, be patient
love will come around

Irony Of Me

I can fix a flat tire
I can fix a bike
I can splice a wire
I can drive a spike

I can tune a car
or plaster a wall
I can weld a metal bar
can cut a tree and watch it fall

I can install a floor of tile
I can sharpen a blade
I can make little chidren smile
or make a golf ball fade

I can do most anything
But I can't mend my heart
It's lonely and abandoned
and broken apart

I can ski most any slope
and can skate any frozen lake
I can tie knots in rope
I can even bake a cake

I can play a song
and sing a tune
I can work all day long
or trim and prune

I can mend a fence
and fillet a fish
I can hammer out dents
or create a tasty dish

I can do most anything
But I can't mend my heart
It's lonely and blue
and broken apart

I can diaper a baby
and burp them too
I can turn a 'no' into a maybe
I can tighten a screw

I can swim many laps
and catch a fish with bare hands
I can find my way with map
and read a set of plans

I can decorate a tree
and place a star on top
and make coffee or tea
good to the last drop

I can do most anything
But I can't mend my heart
It's lonely and hopeless
and feels torn apart

Theyll Need A Crane

Love sees loves happiness
But happiness cant see that love is sad
That love is sad
Sadness is hanging there
To show love somewhere something needs a change
They need a change
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break its gonna take a metal ball hung from a chain
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start to see a world apart from pain
Lads gal is all he has
Gals gladness hangs upon the love of lad
The love of lad
Some things gal says to lad arent meant as bad
But cause a little pain
They cause him pain
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break its gonna take a metal ball hung from a chain
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start to see a world apart from pain
Dont call me at work again no no the boss still hates me
Im just tired and I dont love you anymore
And theres a restaurant we should check out where
The other nightmare people like to go
I mean nice people, baby wait,
I didnt mean to say nightmare
Lad looks at other gals
Gal thinks jim beam is handsomer than lad
He isnt bad
Call off the wedding band
Nobody wants to hear that one again
Play that again
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To take the house he built for her apart
To make it break its gonna take a metal ball hung from a chain
Theyll need a crane, theyll need a crane
To pick the broken ruins up again
To mend her heart, to help him start to see a world apart from pain
