Been A Son
She should have stayed away from friends
She should have had more time to spend
She should have died when she was born
She should have worn the crown of thorns
She should have been a son
She should have been a son
She should have been a son
She should have been a son
She should have stood out in the crowd
She should have made her mother proud
She should have fallen on her stance
She should have had another chance
She should have been a son
She should have been a son
She should have been a son
She should have been a son

Thats Why God Made The Movies
When I was born my mother died
She said bye-bye baby, bye-bye
I said where you goin?
Im just born
She said Ill only be gone for a while
My mother loved to leave in style
And thats why God made the movies
So I laid around in my swaddling clothes
Until the doctor came and turned out the light
Then I packed my bag
And my nametag
And stole away into the night
Hopeing things would work out alright
Thats why God made the movies
Say you will, say you will
Say youll take me to your loving breast
Say youll nourish me with your tenderness
The way the ladies sometimes do
Say you wont, say you wont
Say you wont leave me for no other man
Say youll love me for the way I am
Say you will, say you will
When I was born my mother died
She said bye-bye baby, bye-bye
And since that day
Ive made my way
The notorious boy of the wild
Adopted by wolves when he was a child
Thats why god. thats why god.
Thats why God made the movies

The Day I Died
The air was close, but it would not rain
The day I died.
And smog enshrouded Gotham town
The day I died..
I should have stayed in Oceanside
The day I died.
Instead of a hellish subway ride
The day I died.
It started with a stabbing pain
The day I died.
Then waves of nausea deep inside
The day I died.
I fell to earth, I could not breathe
The day I died.
Co workers rushing to my side
The day I died.
Sirens scream on distant streets
The day I died.
bringing hosts of E.M.T.’s
The day I died..
Too late for me, this proud heart fails
The day I died.
I thought” This is the last of Earth”
The day I died.

That Certain Man Named Belebel
when you call i am somewhere in
Pedro Gil
an hour ago i was in Taft
feeling the crowd of
Kabayan
i stop for a while thinking where
to go next
but then i find myself lurking in
a room
without nothing in mind
it is not strange to me
i am always on the move but i am not
looking for anything
they say that we were born with feet
so we have to use them
it is just this time that i realize
what mother told me once about
a certain Belebel
who is he? mother tells me that he was a
man of God
condemned to walk and never stop
because something in him is longing
for something that
he never once found
until he died and then
God smiled at him
because he walked and then
he lived and
then he died
with all his feet
connected
to earth.....

The woman with lost desires
The woman with the lost desires
The died dreams upon her breasts lies
Once she wanted to be like others
But she never had the chance to do her dance
Always her destiny took her steps upon stormy clouds
To fight for her lost desires and rights
But already all her chances at life were taken
She never had the chance to talk the way she wanted to walk
The smile faded away long ago upon her pale cheeks
Her world was composed of liars died kiss
Since the day she was born there time stood mute
There where no love to knock the chained doors of hearts
She will never has the chance, for her destiny to be changed
Her words will ever stay mute, never will have the chance to be understood.

Change of Heart
You wiped perspiration from your brow
You know you mustn’t take this seriously as a big blow
So you sat down and tried to get your composure back
You can't pretend nothing happened and you shrugged.
Finally you stood up, and to friends you bid goodbye
Leaving the crowd with your heavy heart and sigh
As you drove your car you shook your head
And murmured, “Oh, this should not be the end.”
From the music inside your car
Still you can hear her annoying sound
Among the crowd she hardly puts on her crown.
This is not the first time, she’s boastful and proud.
She always acts as if she is the best in town.
Many times she hurt you but you didn’t frown
You remain faithful, keep her out of blue
Even though she is not worthy of you.
This was your thoughts as you drove by the street
“Oh yes! ” you exclaimed in relief.
And you stepped on the break carefully.
You told yourself, “I can handle this, she can’t steal my dignity
From now on she can’t gravely underestimate my capacity.
She cannot put me down.
I have my degree and she has none
I have my resolution and it’s done now.
Stay away from her and forget her somehow.”

Lone Traveller
I am now a lone traveller,
Roaming to find my filial roots.
Long begun this endless search,
From the days I started to think and feel.
In the roaring crowd that moves along,
And all the faces I chance to glance,
I search for a ‘Mother’, who cast me out,
Into the dark hide out of a vacant street,
Still smelling of new born blood,
And still fresh with severed chord,
To be eaten away by ants and rats,
Or to be trampled over or crushed beneath.
Did she do it with a quivering heart?
Or was it in her hurry to rid?
Who would tell me who she was?
What she did and where she lived?
Was she so beggarly made?
Or was she bearing a bastard child?
Had she fallen into a deceitful trap?
Or was she one, too young to tend?
When such questions plague me mad,
Slumber quits me with dreary nights.
Often my thoughts hurl to the past,
To live once more those cheerless days-
The days I stayed in a Destitute Home,
With a hundred other kindred souls.
Life was always a ritual there.
Getting up and going to bed,
Eating thrice and taking a nap,
Having a bath and changing dress.
Never once sensing a loving touch,
Or ever relishing a fond kiss.
Later someday, a couple came,
And took me with them to an alien land.
There I had such kingly days,
But always with a barren life.
Now I wander all day long,
Across the dingy streets I lay forlorn,
With hopes so bright and fancies wild,
To see my mother emerge from the crowd,
With hands outstretched to hug me once,
And own me ever, this forsaken child!

Machine Messiah
Part i
Run down a street
Where the glass shows
That summer has gone
Age, in the doorways
Resenting the pace of the dawn.
All of them standing in line
All of them waiting for time.
From time, the great healer,
The machine-messiah
Is born.
Cables that carry the life
To the cities we build
Threads that link diamonds of life
To the satanic mills
Ah, to see in every way
That we feel it every
Day, and know that
Maybe well change
Offered the chance
To finally unlearn our lessons
And alter our stance.
Part ii
Friends make their way into systems of chance
(reply- friends make their way of escape into systems of chance)
Escape to freedom I need to be there
Waiting and watching, the tables are turning
Im waiting and watching
I need to be there.
I care to see them walk away
And, to be there when they say
They will return.
Machine, messiah
The mindless
Search for a higher
Controller
Take me to the fire
And hold me
Show me the strength of your
Singular eye.
Part iii
History dictating symptoms of ruling romance
Claws at the shores of the water upon which we dance
All of us standing in line
All of us waiting for time
To feel it, all the way
And to be there when they
Say they know that
Maybe well change
Offered the chance
To finally unlearn our lessons
And alter our stance.
Machine, machine messiah.
Take me into the fire
Hold me, machine messiah
And show me
The strength of your singular eye.

The Last Worthless Evening
I know you broke up with him
And your hearts still on the shelf
Its been over two years for me
And Im still not quite myself
You cant be with someone new
And you cant go back to him
Youre beginning to realize
That its sink or swim
I see you around sometimes
And my heart just melts
Youre lookin like if you had your wish
Youd be somewhere else
And it just breaks my heart
To see you here this way
Someday Ill get the nerve
To walk up to you and say
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
cause Ill be there
When your broken heart is on the mend
Every night its the same old crowd
In smoky rooms
You catch a faint glimpse of love sometimes
But it never blooms
Ive been around this block a time or two
And Ive made some big mistakes
But girl I promise you, I promise you
That this is the worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
cause it wont be long
till your little heart is on the mend
People inside their houses
With the shades pulled down
God knows, we could use some romance
In this sleepy bedroom town
I know youre still afraid to rush into anything
But therere just so many summers
And just so many springs
And this is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance to show you how
To love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend, baby
cause Ill be there when your broken heart
Is on the mend
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend
Just gimme a chance, gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That youll have to spend cause it wont be long
til your little heart is on the mend

Mother In Law
(a. toussaint)
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
The worst person I know
Mother in law, mother in law
She worries me so
Mother in law, mother in law
If she leaves us alone
We could have a happy home
Sent from down below
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
Satan should be her name
Mother in law, mother in law
To me theyre about the same
Mother in law, mother in law
Everytime I open my mouth
Steps in trying to put me out
How could you stood so low
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law
Come home with my pay
Mother in law, mother in law
She asks me what I made
Mother in law, mother in law
She thinks her advice is a contribution
If she would leave that would be the solution
Dont come back no more
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law....

Worn Only By Christian Martyrs
this one thinks martyr's crown in heaven foolishness
of five crowns worn in heaven martyrs crown highest
why of the five crowns is martyrs crown highest?
worn only by Christian martyrs who died in Christ
this one renounces Christ's name as inconvenient
is ashamed to honour symbolic death crucifixion?

Mr. Bojangles
I knew a man bojangles and he'd dance for you,
In worn out shoes,
With silver hair, a ragged shirt, and baggy pants
The old soft shoe.
He jumped so high, jumped so high
Then he'd lightly touch down.
I met him in a cell in new orleans, i was down and out.
He looked to me to be the eyes of age as he spoke right out
He talked of life, talked of life, he laughed, slapped his leg a step
(chorus)
He said his name "bojangles" then he danced a lick across the cell
He grabbed his pants, a better stance, o he jumped so hi, & he clicked his heels
He let go a laugh, let go a laugh, shook back his clothes all around
(chorus)
He danced for those at minstrel shows & county fairs,
Throughout the south
He spoke with tears of 15 years how his dog and him traveled about.
His dog up and died, up and died, after 20 years he still grieves.
(chorus)
He said i dance now at every chance in honky tonks for drinks and tips
But most the time i spend behind these county bars cause i drinks a bit
He shook his head, and as he shook his head i heard someone ask him please

Happy Mother's Day Mom
you were more than i could've asked for,
you gave me everything plus more,
because of you,
i'm the person you wanted me to be,
even thought you not here,
i know you near,
keeping me safe,
and getting me through rough times,
i know you always there to cheer me on,
no matter what i plan on doing,
i just know,
you just more proud that i give it a chance,
because of you,
i try everyday to push through and live my life,
to make everyday the way i want,
because of you,
i realize that you were the best mother,
i couldn't ask for anyone better,
for the time we got to spend together,
is just priceless,
that why i'm left here saying,
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY,
I LOVE YOU! ! ! ! !

Break Up The Family
The strange logic in your clumsiest line
(it stayed, it stayed) it stayed emblazoned on my mind
You say, break up the family
And lets begin to live our lives
I want to see all my friends tonight
It wasnt youth, it wasnt life
Born old, sadly wise
Resigned (well, we were)
To ending our lives
Im so glad to grow older
To move away from those awful times
I want to see all my friends tonight
Yes, you found love, but you werent
At peace with your life
Home late, full of hate
Despise the ties that bind
Im so glad to grow older
To move away from those younger years
Im in love for the first time
And I dont feel bad
Let me see all my old friends
Let me put my arms around them
Cause I really do love them
Now does that sound mad ?
Captain of games, solid framed
I stood on the touchline
Hailstones, driven home
In a car - no brakes ? I dont mind
Im so glad to grow older
To move away from those darker years
Oh, Im in love for the first time
And I dont feel bad
So wish me luck my friends
Goodbye
So wish me luck again
Goodbye
Wish me luck my friends
Goodbye
Mmm... wish me luck, my friends
Goodbye
Ahh...
Ahh...

Fallen Angel
I have fallen from sky,
Fallen to the ground,
I am the angel of sadness,
Angel of lost hopes,
Angel of lost dreams,
I am the fallen angel,
Fear me not,
I am here for reason,
That reason is to have a second chance in life,
That life I was given for a reason,
They took my wings,
They took me apart made me human,
I was the fallen angel,
But that fallen angel had one chance in life that she was given,
This angel won’t make the same mistakes she made before,
This angel will go down the right path that has been chosen for her,
This fallen angel know what she has to do to be forgiven.

Crown Of Thorns
to go near you i put on some leaves
to hide the thorns
and you like the crown that pretends
to be the laurels of
my victory
then the truth has to come out
the leaves wilt and they finally fall to the floor
and i am left with this leafless vines
full of thorns
i make a crown of circular twigs
filled with thorns
now, watch me as i bleed
this is my truth this is my defeat

The Sound Of The Crowd
Put your hand in a party wave
Pass around
Make a shroud pulling combs through a backwash frame
Find the copies in a carbon mount
Pass around
Stroke a pocket with a print of a laughing sound
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
The shades from a pencil peer
Pass around
A fold in an eyelid brushed with fear
The lines on a compact guide
Pass around
A hat with alignment worn insde
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
Get in line now
Get in line now
Stay in time with the rhythm and rhyme
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good
Where the music is loud
Get around town
No need to stand proud
Add your voice to the sound of the crowd
Get around town
Get around town
Where the people look good

Mother Popcorn
(look out!)
Were gonna bring somebody
Up on stage now with us.
A mr david woodford.
Gonna blow some sax, yeah
(watch this man!)
Some like em short
Some like em tall
Some like em thin
Skinny legs and all
I like em buttered
I like em proud
Now when they walk
They know they draw a crowd
See, well you gotta have a mother for me
Watcha say, whatcha say...
See, well you gotta have a mother for me
One more, gimme, gimme
See, well you gotta have a mother for me
Popcorn, popcorn
Cheese cake, cheese cake (uh! you heard it)
Hun I cant see ya
There ya baby!
Listen here
Some like em short, some like em tall
Some like em thin, skinny legs and all
I like em buttered, I like em proud
And when they walk, you know theyll draw a crowd
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
Said you gotta have a mother for me
Said you gotta have a mother for me
And you gotta have a mother for me
Gotta have a mother,
Said you gotta have, said you gotta have,
Said you gotta have, said you gotta have
She got to give just what she got
To get just what she wants
She got to give just what she got
To get just what she wants
She got to give just what she got
To get just what she wants
What it is, what it is, just what it is
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
Lets get outta here
See - well, you gotta have a mother for me
Gotta have a mother for me
