Chagrin D'Amour
IF Love and I were all alone
I might forget to grieve,
And for his pleasure and my own
Might happier garlands weave;
But you sit there, and watch us wear
The mourning wreaths you wove:
And while such mocking eyes you bear
I am not friends with Love.
Withdraw those cruel eyes, and let
Me search the garden through
That I may weave, ere Love be set,
The wreath of Love for you;
Till you, whom Love so well adorns,
Its hidden thorns discover,
And know at last what crown of thorns
It was you gave your lover.

The Bride
WEAVE me no wreath of orange blossom,
No bridal white shall me adorn;
I wear a red rose in my bosom;
To-morrow I shall wear the thorn.
Bring me no gauds to deck my beauty,
Put by the jewels and the lace;
My love to honour and to duty
Was plighted ere he saw my face.
I hear his impatient charger neighing,
I hear the trumpets blow afar!
His comrades ride, as to a Maying,
Jesting and splendid to the war.
Why is my lady-mother weeping?
Why is my father grievèd sore?
Oh, love, God have you in His keeping,
The day you leave your true-love's door.
Gay is the golden harvest spreading,
The orchard's all in rose and gold;
Who said it was a mournful wedding?
My hand in yours, Love, is not cold.
Go glad and gay to meet the foeman,
I love you to my latest breath;
Oh, love, there is no happier woman.
See, I am smiling! Love-till death!

LOVE Without Fancy Words and Shiny Stars
LOVE... You can possess but you can’t hold it
LOVE... You can feel but you can’t see it,
LOVE...You can give but you can’t buy it
LOVE... You can start when you advertise,
LOVE... with your smiles and your eyes
LOVE Mam’n’Dad an’ sister an’ brother,
LOVE your friends and one another
Love your lover in that yummy order, ,
LOVE your neighbour over the border
LOVE...at the top Nan’n’Pop,
LOVE all the dickie birds in the tree top
LOVE your doggie an’pussycat,
LOVE all animals don’t forget that
Love a little for yourself, an’ those that hate,
Love the world an’ you’ll change its fate
Love will then return thru your own gate.

Love Me Tenderly
To walk about aimlessy,
Down the dirty roads with melancholy,
I found love in an unexpected place,
Picking a rose among thorns,
To take a lady among women,
Love me tenderly my love
To love you without a reason not to,
To search for you in my pocket,
Hoping you might just come near,
That i may love you deeply,
So you may love me tenderly
Living with the memories all my life,
I met an angel along my way,
Now my eyes are so clear,
Clear to love without fear,
Please love me tenderly
I need your tenderness,
The warmth of your closeness,
For this love im tireless,
Deny me not,
Love me tenderly

A Garden
If I saw you in a garden
amongst the roses there,
I would not see the roses
for they'd be too hard to bear.
Their petals not as soft as your eyes,
their thorns not as sharp as your wit,
their stems not as strong as my love
and I'd care not for any of it.
My intent in the garden
would be to inhale the aroma sweet
and have you let my senses quicken
and inflame me with the heat
of passion while we lingered
and pretended to see a rose
while every second all we'd know
is the beauty of how love grows.

Barachel
My harp is turned into mourning and,
My flute into the wail of weepers!
Because i saw your nakedness and,
Another man took it away.
I gave you my full attention on this love and you left me,
So build your own home and your own city of love over there;
And of your lust that elided this man at last,
Because the dating and the seeking of your love was noted!
Barachel is my lover and i shall not want,
But the very eyes of the light do watch us all;
And a day came and i became the father to the needy,
Because my harp and flute had now turned into mourning!
Oh Barachel, why do this to me at this very hour?
For the muse of your love is now gone to another man.

A Coronal
WITH HIS SONGS AND HER DAYS TO HIS LADY AND TO LOVE
Violets and leaves of vine,
Into a frail, fair wreath
We gather and entwine:
A wreath for Love to wear,
Fragrant as his own breath,
To crown his brow divine,
All day till night is near.
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.
Violets and leaves of vine
For Love that lives a day,
We gather and entwine.
All day till Love is dead,
Till eve falls, cold and gray,
These blossoms, yours and mine,
Love wears upon his head,
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.
Violets and leaves of vine,
For Love when poor Love dies
We gather and entwine.
This wreath that lives a day
Over his pale, cold eyes,
Kissed shut by Proserpine,
At set of sun we lay:
Violets and leaves of vine
We gather and entwine.

Her...
I can never get my mind off her,
I wonder if she'd mind if i'd,
make her my own,
and never let her go,
hug her tight,
treat her right,
act all polite,
take her on a date,
make sure i'm never late,
kiss her on her lips,
talk about our kids,
Make her feel like princess,
living in a castle,
hope that is not too much hassle,
But i am so blessed,
hope i can be the best,
hold you tight,
have your BR3A$t,
on my chest,
pass the test,
NOW YOUR MINE!

To The Willow-tree
Thou art to all lost love the best,
The only true plant found,
Wherewith young men and maids distrest
And left of love, are crown'd.
When once the lover's rose is dead
Or laid aside forlorn,
Then willow-garlands, 'bout the head,
Bedew'd with tears, are worn.
When with neglect, the lover's bane,
Poor maids rewarded be,
For their love lost their only gain
Is but a wreath from thee.
And underneath thy cooling shade,
When weary of the light,
The love-spent youth, and love-sick maid,
Come to weep out the night.

Little Lover
(nash / clarke)
You leave me sad and lonely
Sitting here oh so blue
Since you went away and told me, baby,
Yeah that were through
Now baby, cmon (cmon little lover)
Yeah cmon (cmon little lover)
Yeah cmon little lover
Cmon and discover
My love for you
Trying to forget you
Getting you outta my mind
Im gonna search all over this world
And find some other kind
Now some other lover (cmon little lover)
Some other lover (cmon little lover)
Cmon little lover
Cmon and discover
My love for you
Break
Writing you a letter
Feeling oh so blue
Ive been crying my heart out baby
Since you said were through
Now baby cmon (cmon little lover)
Yeah cmon (cmon little lover)
Yeah cmon little lover
Cmon and discover
My love for you

Weave In, Weave In, My Hardy Life
WEAVE in! weave in, my hardy life!
Weave yet a soldier strong and full, for great campaigns to come;
Weave in red blood! weave sinews in, like ropes! the senses, sight
weave in!
Weave lasting sure! weave day and night the weft, the warp, incessant
weave! tire not!
(We know not what the use, O life! nor know the aim, the end--nor
really aught we know;
But know the work, the need goes on, and shall go on--the death-
envelop'd march of peace as well as war goes on;)
For great campaigns of peace the same, the wiry threads to weave;
We know not why or what, yet weave, forever weave.

There Will Be Love
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.
Oh, oh, the sunshine of your smile
Oh, oh, the music of your voice
Oh, oh, when you lay your body by
Oh, oh, the night was made for love.
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin now.
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.
And I could fly, fly, fly, fly, fly, fly.
I made an ark from the light of the stars
And I hewed two mesas of bright silver metal
That sang in the sun like a sail in the wind
And I weave my way back to you
Now I can fly.
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin
Oh, baby, the way we move in love
Oh, baby, the way we movin now.
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you
Whatever I do, I will do you
Whatever I see, I will see you
Whatever I do, I will love you
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Whatever I see, I will see you in it
Whatever I do, there will be love in it
Even when I close my eyes
All I see is you.

Crown Of Thorns
You ever heard the story
of Mr. Faded Glory?
Say he who rides a pony must someday fall
I been talkin' to my alter
Says life is what you make it
And if you make it death well then rest
your soul away
Away away yeah
It's a broken kind of feeling
She'd have to tie me to the ceiling
A bad moon's a comin'
better say your prayers
I wanna tell you that I love you
But does it really matter?
I just can't stand to see you dragging down.
Again, again, again.
So I'm singing
This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that leaves you alone
This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind and leaves me alone
I used to treat you like a lady
Now you're a substitute teacher
This bottle's not a pretty, not a pretty sight
I owe the man some money
so I'm turnin over honey
Oh Mr. Faded Glory is once again doin' time.
This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that leaves me alone
This is my kinda love
It's a crown of thorns
It's the kind that
It's the kind that leaves me alone
Like a crown of thorns
So know who you know.
So don't burn your bridges cause
someday, yeah
Start singing
This is my kinda love
It's the kind that moves on
It's the kind that leaves me alone
This is my kinda love
It's a crown of thorns
It's the kind that leaves me alone

The Coronet
When for the Thorns with which I long, too long,
With many a piercing wound,
My Saviours head have crown'd,
I seek with Garlands to redress that Wrong:
Through every Garden, every Mead,
I gather flow'rs (my fruits are only flow'rs)
Dismantling all the fragrant Towers
That once adorn'd my Shepherdesses head.
And now when I have summ'd up all my store,
Thinking (so I my self deceive)
So rich a Chaplet thence to weave
As never yet the king of Glory wore:
Alas I find the Serpent old
That, twining in his speckled breast,
About the flow'rs disguis'd does fold,
With wreaths of Fame and Interest.
Ah, foolish Man, that would'st debase with them,
And mortal Glory, Heavens Diadem!
But thou who only could'st the Serpent tame,
Either his slipp'ry knots at once untie,
And disintangle all his winding Snare:
Or shatter too with him my curious frame:
And let these wither, so that he may die,
Though set with Skill and chosen out with Care.
That they, while Thou on both their Spoils dost tread,
May crown thy Feet, that could not crown thy Head.

Love Is Simply Existence
Love is as fragile
As your loneliest friend;
Love is as needful
As the first waking breath of dawn;
Love is the gift of God
That is never hidden
But often remains unfound;
Love is the sustenance
Of the soul
That one day takes us home;
Love is the communication
Between pairs of eyes
When you discover someone
You can trust;
Love is simply existence
Inviting you to love someone
And to love yourself.

Forsaking My Love
I hate you
I wish to tear you away from me
This tumor that clings to my chest
The thing that makes me ache
That haunts my dreams
And tears at my desires
You have brought me only pain
My untamed heart
That beast that gnaws at my soul
That pitifully whines
Bringing my mind into unwanted pain
Yet how can I blame you
How can I chastise you when I listen intently to your pleas
Why should I punish you for what my eyes feed upon
How can I blame my eyes for falling upon her
She who brings light to the eternal darkness of my soul
She whose eyes bring me to subjection
Whose smile leaves me in awe
How can I blame you when my ears are met with her laughter
How they submerge into her song
How they quiver at her voice
Why should I punish you for inclining my soul
Tempting it with the one sense that has been forsaken by her
How could I look over the thought of the brushing of lips
The touching of hands
The binding of the soul, mind, and body
O you wretched heart
What am I to do with this constant companion
How could I tear you away
When she is the cause of my agony
Or rather
It is the lack of her which brings me sorrow
It is the need for her that leaves my heart in pain
Yet she is not mine
She was never mine
She will never be mine
O my poor heart
How can I make you see reason
When all you do is show me the truth

Somebody To Love
When the truth is found to be lies
and all the joys within you dies
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
When the garden flowers baby are dead yes
and your mind is full of red
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
your eyes, I say your eyes may look like his
but in your head baby I'm afraid you don't know where it is
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love
tears are running ah running down your breast
and your friends baby they treat you like a guest
don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love

Song (1909)
'Oh! Love,' they said, 'is King of Kings,
And Triumph is his crown.
Earth fades in flame before his wings,
And Sun and Moon bow down.' -
But that, I knew, would never do;
And Heaven is all too high.
So whenever I meet a Queen, I said,
I will not catch her eye.
'Oh! Love,' they said, and 'Love,' they said,
'The gift of Love is this;
A crown of thorns about thy head,
A nd vinegar to thy kiss!' -
But Tragedy is not for me;
And I'm content to be gay.
So whenever I spied a Tragic Lady,
I went another way.
And so I never feared to see
Y ou wander down the street,
Or come across the fields to me
On ordinary feet.
For what they'd never told me of,
And what I never knew;
It was that all the time, my love,
Love would be merely you.

Till The Day I Die
(coverdale)
When ice cold winds of winter
Chill me to the bone,
An thoughts of summer breezes
Turn my heart to stone
Thats when I need a hand to guide me,
When its more than I can bear
A shoulder I can cry on,
Someone to lead me there
An give me love,
Give me love,
Give me love
Till the day I die,
Till the day I die
Slowly I awaken
To the weavers plan for me,
To drift upon the waters
Of my own uncertainty,
To look for a companion
Who will share my destiny,
A guiding hand to understand
An walk to road with me
An give me love,
Give me love,
Give me love
Till the day I die,
Till the day I die
I wanna be the master of my destiny,
I never wanna crawl an beg for no sympathy,
When everything I have is yours,
An all I ask of you
Is give me love.
Give me love,
Give me love
Till the day I die,
Till the day I die
I never wanna be the first
To show Im down,
But, Im never gonna wear the frozen smile of a clown
When everything I have is yours
And all I ask of you
Is give me love
Give me love,
Give me love
Till the day I die,
Till the day I die
Give me love,
Give me love,
Give me love.
Till the day I die
Give me love,
Give me love,
Give me love.
Till the day I die
Till the day I die...

I Promise You
it's in the silences,
The words you never say
I see it in your eyes,
It always starts the same way
It seems like everyone we know is breaking up
Does anybody ever stay in love, anymore?
I promise you,
From the bottom of my heart
I will love you till death do us part
I promise you as a lover and a friend
I will love you like i never love again
With everything i am
Ooh i see you look at me,
When you think i'm not aware
You're searching for clues,
Of just how deep my feelings are.
How do you prove the sky is blue, the oceans wide?
All i know is what i feel,
When i look into your eyes
I promise you,
From the bottom of my heart
I will love you till death do us part
I promise you as a lover and a friend
I will love you like i never love again
With everything that i am ooh yeah
Oh there are no guarantees
That's what you always say to me
But late at night i feel the tremble in your touch
Oh what i'm trying to say to you,
I never said to anyone i promise
I promise you,
From the bottom of my heart
I will love you till death do us part
(i do my darling i promise you)
I promise you as a lover and a friend
I will love you like i never love again
With everything i am i promise you,
From the bottom of my heart
I will love you till death do us part
( i love you i love you i love you i love you)
I promise you as a lover and a friend
I will love you like i never love again
With everything i am
You're everything i am oh yeah
With everything i am
