I saw a man (in answer to Don Mattera)
I saw a man, whose life had been affirmed,
by the new black government,
who was constantly job hunting
and getting nothing.
He was utterly lonely on the street,
could not afford even to buy bread or milk,
nor to pay for a place to sleep
and while he was barely staying alive,
there was no way to even date a girlfriend,
even to have one
and you talk about lonely people,
about a sea of tears?

Heartbreak Hotel
Since my baby left me
I found a new place to dwell
Down at the end of lonely street at heartbreak hotel
I get so lonely baby
I get so lonely
I get so lonely I could die
Although its always crowded
I still can find some room
Where those broken hearted lovers
Cry away their gloom, oh!
I get so lonely
I get so lonely
Get so lonely I could die
Bellhops tears keep flowing
Desk clerk dressed in black
They been so long on lonely street
They aint never comin back
I get so lonely
I get so lonely
Get so lonely I could die
If your baby leaves you
And you have a tale to tell
Just take a walk
Down lonely street to heartbreak hotel
I get so lonely baby
I get so lonely
I get so lonely I could die

Now, since my baby left me
I've found a new place to dwell
Down at the end of lonely street
At Heartbreak Hotel
I get so lonely, baby, I get so lonely
I get so lonely, I could die
Although it's always crowded
You still can find some room
For broken hearted lovers
To cry away their gloom
I get so lonely, baby, I get so lonely

The desk clerk's dressed in black
They've been so long lonely street
They will never go back

Well, since my baby left me,
I found a new place to dwell.
It's down at the end of lonely street
at Heartbreak Hotel.
You make me so lonely baby,
I get so lonely,
I get so lonely I could die.
And although it's always crowded,
you still can find some room.
Where broken hearted lovers
do cry away their gloom.
You make me so lonely baby,
I get so lonely,
I get so lonely I could die.
Well, the Bell hop's tears keep flowin',
and the desk clerk's dressed in black.
Well they been so long on lonely street
They ain't ever gonna look back.

Lonely am I
Lonely are the nights
Lonely are the days
Lonely am I, in so many ways
Lonely are the seasons
Lonely are the years
So lonely am I, that it brings tears.
Lonely is this place
Lonely is my life
Lonely am I, that I reach for a knife
Lonely is this court room
Lonely is my sentence
So lonely am I that I ask for repentance.
Lonely
Lonely life,
Lonely mind,
Lonely heart,
Lonely love,
Lonely fun,
Lonely work,
Lonely talk,
Lonely thoughts,
Lonely death,
Lonely walk,
Lonely run,
Lonely friend,
Lonely crying,
Lonely recess,
Lonely money,
Lonely health,
Lonely kissing,
Lonely loniness...

Street Of Dreams
Written by lindsey buckingham.
Cant get going
Fear is showing
On this lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Street of dreams
Theres no telling
What theyre selling
On this lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Street of dreams
Theres a shadow on my daddys stone, where he was laid, laid to rest.
I ask him is this just a dream, or is it just another test?
I turn my back against the cold, I turn my face into the wind
And I wonder will I ever, ever make it home again?
Shadow on daddys stone, ten years gone, it seems
I ask him will I ever stop, ever stop dreaming dreams? !
He said never, never, never
And I was praying
Youd be staying
On this lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Street of dreams

YYYYYYYY I Am Lonelyyyyyyyy
Lonely I, lonely love you,
Lonely I, surrounded by nothing,
Lonely I, pieced and waiting,
Lonely I, cursed without you.
Lonely I, sit and think,
Lonely I, was before I met you,
Lonely I, hopeless still love you,
Lonely I, pain and nothing.
Lonely I, in the darkness,
Lonely I, with my tears,
Lonely I, sorrow and hate,
Lonely I, is this my fate?
Lonely I, Thinks that I should wait,
Lonely I, Am I so Late?
Lonely I, Lonely Love you,
Lonely I, Always Dreming of You........

On tears lonely lonely cry
On tears lonely lonely cry
You always shade on my mind
Even you had flied away
Left me alone in the night
On tears lonely lonely cry
No one can take that place
My first love you have to know
You’ve never gone in my heart
Oh why, oh why
I can’t forget your kiss goodbye
I want crying to you
Bring this pain from my life
On tears lonely lonely cry
My first love you have to know
The memory was closed
In my broken lonely heart

So Lonely
Well someone told me yesterday
That when you throw your love away
You act as if you just dont care
You look as if youre going somewhere
But I just cant convince myself
I couldnt live with no one else
And I can only play that part
And sit and nurse my broken heart
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely
Know no ones knocked upon my door
For a thousand years or more
All made up and no where to go
Welcome to this one man show
Just take a seat theyre always free
No surprise no mystery
In this theatre that I call my soul
I always play the starring role
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely, so lonely
So lonely, so lonely, so lonely
I feel so lonely...

One lonely tree
Lonely are the nights
Lonely are the days
Alone in the walks of life
One lonely tree
Lonely on the land I walk
Lost, wondering, confused
Like the lonely winter tree
Lonely smiles
On tears lonely lonely cry
I'm nowhere to be found
I feel lonely without your love
One life with a lost soul.
Lonely.

Bet Shes Not Your Girlfriend
(tennant/lowe)
---------------
(whisper whisper whisper whisper)
Whisper round the town,
cause youre my friend and thats the end
For youre the only one in town
Who they will beg to hang around with
Youre so beautiful and calm
But with an attitude that says:
Hands-off, youre just not good enough
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Well, that says maybe, in a way, but its okay
We are touche, while they stare in front of us
They draw away, as if to say:
Who are these people anyway?
How dare they confront us?
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Oh no no no
Oh no no no
(girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend
Oh oh oh girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend)
Id rather die, than satisfy their curiousity
Im kind of shy and dry, and verging on ugly
They wonder what that I have got, that they have not
Theyll never understand that none of that matters
Every boy and man feeling lonely
Cant understand why youd be with me
Furthermore, we laugh and we draw
More attention everyday, so they say:
(girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no,
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend oh oh oh girlfriend
Oh oh oh girlfriend)
Bet shes not your, bet shes not your,
Bet shes not your, bet shes not your,
(oh oh oh girlfriend)
Bet shes not your girlfriend, oh no
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
(oh oh oh girlfriend) bet shes not your girlfriend
(oh oh oh girlfriend) you better make her happy
Bet shes not your girlfriend

Catch Me While Im Sleeping
[Verse 1]
How many times have you sat across from me?
And how many times have you told me you were leavin'?
I'm no tryin' to listen, 'cause it's all the same
And why, why are you constantly believing
That I, I could ever give you what you're needing?
Baby, baby, please don't put your faith in me
I don't know what to say
'Cause it's all a dream to me anyway
[Chorus]
You can catch me while
I'm sleepin', darlin'
While I'm dreamin', too
It's a lonely, lonely, lonely place
for me baby
It must get lonely for you, too
[Verse 2]
People always fallin'
In and out of love and
It can be pretty painful, too
And maybe, Oh maybe I'm just not strong enough
Sad but true
So tell me what's the use?
Oh, Oh You can catch me while
I'm sleepin', darlin'
Maybe While I'm dreamin', too
'Cause It's a lonely, lonely, lonely place
for me baby
It must get lonely for you, too
[Chorus (Out)]

Lonely Street
Sometimes when I'm walking down this lonely street,
Well, it sure don't seem like twenty years,
Since I went walking down this lonely street
And the smell of perfumed ladies filled the air
This street ain't got no name, dead end is in the river,
And I lived where I hated life day by day,
There wasn't nothing I could do to shake a cold night shiver,
'Cause to move up Lonely Street you had to have some say
Gambling is bad luck down on Lonely Street
And it sure ain't no place to be when a man gets sore
You know I killed a man and I paid all I can,
With twenty years on a chain gang,
For the flesh and the blood on that jailhouse floor
Sometimes when I'm walking down this lonely street
I get caught up in a dream that won't let me go
And as the bright lights flash up and down this lonely street
My mind rolls back the years long time ago
I see my baby stumblin' around with tears in her eyes
And as I reach out for her she falls on the floor
She mumbles through bloody lips about a bad man, robber, raper,
And in my gut I know I got one to score
The word was comin' down, down on Lonely Street
That the bad man was a dead man if he crossed my trail
Every night I'd walk up and down this Lonely Street
I get stinkin' drunk, and always in jail,
One night they threw me in with a man they called the mangler
He was caught on the street makin' some old whore,
I remember he was quite proud of that,
So half-crazed I shot him,
And I cried in the blood on that jailhouse floor

'til All The Lonely's Gone
(pam tillis/bob dipiero/john scott sherrill)
Well hank made a living out of lonely
He sang like a freight train whistle moan
Said "you'll never get out of this world alive"
As if he'd always known, lord, lord
As if he'd always known
Rode down that hillbilly highway
Took a big black cadillac on home
And he said "driver keep on driving
'til all the lonely's gone"
'til all the lonely, 'til all the lonely
'til all the lonely's gone, gone, gone
Let's just hold on to each other
'til all the lonely's gone
I told my mama, "dear sweet mama,
I'm tired and weary to the bone
Just let me walk along your flowers"
Makes me wonder why i roam, lord, lord
Makes me wonder why i roam
Feed me biscuits and milk gravy
'til your baby's feeling strong
We'll sit up picking on the front porch, yeah
'til all the lonely's gone
'til all the lonely, 'til all the lonely
'til all the lonely's gone, gone, gone
Let's just hold on to each other
'til all the lonely's gone
Well now jesus was praying in the garden
He never felt so all alone
They knew his suffering was over
When they rolled away the stone, lord, lord
When they rolled away the stone
On golden stairs he walked to heaven
And there he's waiting on the throne
He loves to hear his children sing and shout
'til all the lonely's gone
'til all the lonely, 'til all the lonely
'til all the lonely's gone, gone, gone
Let's just hold on to each other
'til all the lonely's gone
