The Level Playing Field
A few words need to be said about the level playing field
and the relative benefits to those concerned it does yield.
If those who are in authority are not impartial in their ways
the effect of this is reflected back to all no matter who plays.
There are however some exceptions to the rule
regardless of what we have all learnt at school.
Whether it be sport, business, industry, research or education
the level playing field applies to each and every situation.
When certain people are prejudiced towards one person or group
and show too much favor for one party then the other they'll dupe.
This practice is known to be a form of much corruption and deceipt
and should be recognised by all those who're in the grip of receipt.

Better than anything else in our culture, it enables fathers and sons to speak on a level playing field while building up from within a personal history of shared experience - a group history - that may be tapped into at will in years to come.

Government's role should be only to keep the playing field level, and to work hand in hand with business on issues such as employment. But beyond this, to as great an extent as possible, it should get the hell out of the way.

Mirroring the shades of me
I look into the mirror and
Seeing not only a reflection of myself,
This world or the world daring me to enter
But the person I use to be
The one I'm afraid to be again
The person who would tear your heart apart
And not care
The person that didn't take her education seriously
The type of person that wanted to do
What she wanted to do
I see the person I am
Someone who helps you
No matter what
Even if I'm the one getting kicked
The senior in high school getting ready for graduation
Hovering over the next level of my life
But trying to find a way up out of the middle of the ocean
Everyone calls life in an education box
This is where I will discover
The mouse and tiger inside of me
Don't want to think of separating
Of being alone
And on my own
It's faded but there as I glance into the mirror
I see the person I will be
A person who helps other people
Discover that people with disabilities
Are not so different
I have found my way up the education latter
Helping people
Showing them there is someone that cares
And believes that they can do
Whatever they set their mind too
As if my mind was coming back to me
Out of a dream
My eyes cleared
As I realized I was just
Standing in front of a mirror
Thinking of that red cap and gown again

What Cedric Said About His Sister.
Cedric followed you
around the playground
at high school
it seemed he wanted
to say something to you
but instead he just followed
you around until
as you stood looking over
at the playing field
where kids were gathering
in their break period
he said
my sister likes you
how do you know?
you asked
because she told me
he replied blushing
looking over at the playing field
isn't she your twin?
Yes
he said
going red
gazing at his sister
standing with a group
of friends on the field
you looked over at the girls
at Cedric's sister waving a hand
so that's Christina
yes
he muttered
the one with the dark hair
and waving a hand
then he went silent
and looked at you
Mother said she's too young for boyfriends
he said after a few moments
but she doesn't listen
she does what she wants
so she told me to tell you
she likes you
and so you nodded
and waved your hand
back at the girls
and there was an explosion
of giggling and laughter
and waving of hands
and then they ran off
onto the field
and as they ran off
you noticed Cedric's sister
had a cute butt
but you didn't tell him that
you just turned and said
fancy a game of ball?
and he just nodded
and said nothing more
about his sister at all.

Leave a mark by your special ways of playing your role
You are hired
Only to be fired
Or to be retired
As desired
By the person
who hired
This fact need to be dared
When you are up flared
And for hiring declared
By the person who chaired
The selecting group un-deferred
You know your worth
And you should know your work
You know what you should be doing
More vitally, what you should not be doing
Jobs, whose skill requirements
Are below your skill level
And those whose skill requirements
Are far above your level
Cannot be performed by you
At the same time
Do your work diligently
With a passion for it
Tasks performed without love for them
Turn into toiling
With no satisfaction
Either to self or the beneficiary
We are not born
To work or toil hard
But are born to enjoy working
With a never dying enthusiasm
Enthusiasm aided with innovation
Makes the work
More enjoyable
Monetary returns
And other work-related benefits
Cannot be charming always
But, what keeps you going
Is the self-satisfaction,
Your unique contribution
And your specific touch
Be ready to accept the fact
You are not indispensable
Someone will replace you
To play your role
But, leave a mark
By your special ways of
Playing that role

Cedric's Message.
Cedric approached you
in the playground and said
My sister Christina
wants to see you
on the playing field lunchtime
and he said it
in a quiet voice
as if he didn't want
the other boys to hear
he ran messages for girls
and off he went
to play with some other boys
leaving you to stare out
onto the empty playing field
and so lunch time
after you'd eaten dinner
you went onto the playing field
beneath the summer sun
and there she was
over by the wire fence
waiting for you
and you said
Cedric said you wanted to see me
and she said
Yes do you mind
if we walk off alone together
I don't want other's ears
to move in on our conversation
No sure
you said
Let's go over by the woods
by the far fence
and so you walked off with her
across the playing field
by other kids who were playing
football or sitting talking
or playing skip rope
or whatever
and when you came
to the woods
you sat down with her
and she said
You do love me
don't you?
I mean you're not
seeing anyone else?
You looked across
the playing field
to where you'd sat
with another
some months before
and she had asked
the same question
but since then
it had turned
momentarily sour
Yes and no
you said
looking back at her
taking in her dark hair
and deep eyes
and how her hand
lay on her thigh
covered by grey skirt
and her naked knees
just visible
to the eye
What do you mean
yes and no?
she asked
you watched
her lips move
and replied
Yes I love you
and no I'm not
seeing another
and she smiled at you
and put her hand on yours
and waited for a kiss
and so you did
her lips on yours
out by the woods
on that summer day
out of doors.

Proportionality'. A disgusted rant.
We here in Britain have a traditional
belief in fair play.
Like, if we lose an away match,
we trash their town centre,
hold the town square as our turf
for several hours against the
full might of the police
who hours before, got us safely
to our seats and kept the home crowd
from throwing more at us
than we could shout at them
(That's one thing about
not learning foreign languages:
they have to learn English
to insult you...)
Proportionality.
It’s reassuring.
A level playing field.
And if one end dips away,
change ends at half time.
Like Waterloo, as we were taught,
was won on the playing fields of Eton.
Whatever that means.
That’s Waterloo in Belgium,
not the rush-hour and every
man and woman for themselves.
So it’s really offensive to our sense
of fair play when those countries
of the Middle East who love fighting
and who’s ever going to stop them,
do they want to, it’s
a national sport, kinda gun Olympics –
when those countries don’t play
the rules of proportionality:
the death toll in the ‘conflict’
- and Dubya-or-quits agrees with this –
should be more or less equal;
and in these democratic days,
that should include civilians
in with the troops.
Proportionality.
It’s reassuring.
A level killing field.
Bodies strewn equally.
Perhaps if it dips away one end like this,
They should change ends at half time.
Though, would anyone notice?

The Phone Gift
Cedric gave you a photograph
in the playground
making sure no one
was looking his way first
Christina said to give you this
he said
you took the photograph
and gazed at a picture
of a girl laughing
with dark hair
looking at the camera
in mid pose
thanks
you said
putting the photo
in the inside pocket
of your jacket
she said she'd meet you
on the playing field lunchtime
Cedric informed
unimpressed
ok thanks
you said
to Cedric's departing back
at lunchtime
after eating your sandwiches
and fruitcake
your mother had made
and the watered-down juice
you went to the playing field
and looked for Christina
amongst the hordes
of boys and girls
basking in the sun
or playing ball
then hands covered your eyes
and a voice said
guess who?
you said
Marilyn Monroe?
the hands left your eyes
and Christina said
no it's me
and she stood there
her eyes almost feeling you
as they moved over you
did you get my photo?
she asked
yes it's in my pocket
you said
don't show it to others
she said
I'll keep it under my pillow
you said
I sneaked it out
while no one was looking
this morning
she informed
I'll be for it
if they find out
she said
when was it taken?
you asked
last summer
she said
when I was 12
you don't look 12
in the photo
you said
do I look 13 now?
she asked
she grabbed your hand
and walked you across
the playing field
not waiting
for your reply
you wondered if Goldfinch
or Rolland were watching
while kicking ball
Goldfinch said girls
were an alien race
and best steered clear of
at best ignored
she stopped on the edge
of the playing field
where a small woods
formed the boundary of the field
and looking back
towards the school
some distance away
she whispered in your ear
you'll see just how 13 I am
in that woods one day
and you gave a sigh
noticing big puffy clouds
in a bright blue sky.

You Do Know That The Lights Are Out?
You are playing alone.
And in left field.
You do know that the lights are out?
Do you practice for a new game to begin?
With a planning done in my presence.
I am not going to say you are bold...
And cold.
I'd call this...
Straight up heartlessness.
With a tilted head,
And a lot of salt and pepper.
You are playing alone.
And in left field.
You do know that the lights are out?
Why are we arguing between us about faults?
And what had been accepted,
Now hated so that has you hissing.
You do know that the lights are out?
Here!
And you can,
Play the field.
Did you come here...
To hear again,
That reminder?
A pain healed, seldom repeats that process again.
When one's duty is to booty,
Loses compassion...
Don't expect a lost action,
To rekindle itself on memories.
Few...
Were the good ones.
Do you remember your entrance?
That is also your exit.
And...
Those lights that are out?
You did it.
You turned them off.

The Key to Success
Education is relevant for a person to be successful.
Education empowers a person to become a leader.
Great opportunities are presented to professionals.
The future of a Person can be unpredictable if she lacks education;
an uneducated person does not have the knowledge
of what the future has to offer for her.
Education is an essential tool to make a pleasant and stable living out of a simple quotidian life.
High Education contributes to the increase of the graduate
in her social economic level.
Education is the main Factor for one to become wealthy,
Millionaire, or even
Multimillionaire.
Education offers the opportunity for a person
to become the owner of a mansion.
Education brings one the opportunity to please herself.
Perhaps, getting to travel often to interesting countries/places, or
to be the owner of the latest new brand sport car.
Education enables one to reach success.
Education makes one become influential.
Education gives one the opportunity to be
at the top with the highest wage.
Education gives one self-fulfillment.
A thief can take away money, a car, a property from a person.
but is definitely impossible to take education away from someone.
Education is worth $10,000 $50,000 $1000,000
0ne puts it value!
Education is certainly the main Element to become successful
and overall to reach one’s goals and dreams.

Baggy Trousers
Naughty boys in nasty schools
Headmasters breaking all the rules
Having fun and playing fools
Smashing up the woodwork tools
All the teachers in the pub
Passing round the ready-rub
Trying not to think of when
The lunch-time bell will ring again.
Oh what fun we had
But, did it really turn out bad
All I learnt at school
Was how to bend not break the rules
Oh what fun we had
But at the time it seemed so bad
Trying different ways
To make a difference to the days.
Headmasters had enough to-day
All the kids have gone away
Gone to fight with next-doors school
Every term, that is the rule
Sits alone and bends his cane
Same old backsides again
All the small ones tell tall tales
Walking home and squashing snails.
Oh what fun we had
But, did it really turn out bad
All I learnt at school
Was how to bend not break the rules
Oh what fun we had
But at the time it seemed so bad
Trying different ways
To make a difference to the days.
Lots of girls and lots of boys
Lots of smells and lots of noise
Playing football in the park
Kicking pushbikes after dark
Baggy trousers, dirty shirt
Pulling hair and eating dirt
Teacher comes to break it up
Back of the ead with a plastic cup.
Oh what fun we had
But, did it really turn out bad
All I learnt at school
Was how to bend not break the rules
Oh what fun we had
But at the time it seemed so bad
Trying different ways
To make a difference to the days.
Baggy trousers, baggy trousers, baggy trousers
Baggy trousers, baggy trousers, baggy trousers

The Sport I Love
Like any other sports
this is the one I choose,
I love, and I have been playing.
the sport I want to be belong.
That is soccer.! ! !
Playing this game
have been giving me an event
that is hard to forget.
It is exciting right! ! !
And therefore
I do not know how
could I leave this sport.
Of which is this sport
help me to build my stamina,
meet a lot of friends, and
also this sport taught me
how to act as a human being,
in order to have a discipline
not only in this sport
but also in the community
as well as in a situation.
It help a lot in me right! ? ,
therefore i must not have to forget
as well as to leave this sport
but to love this sport forever..
I love soccer.! .

Double Standard
So what if I'm just a little apprehensive
So what if I'm not exactly what I've led you to believe
It doesn't mean a thing
It's a total lie that we're expected to believe
There's no such thing as a level playing field
And I've never been one much for dependency
It's a fraud, your view of equality
So what if you don't believe the double standard
So what about everybody who comes after, are they the same?
Do they deserve a thing?
It doesn't matter how hard I have tried
Still I've given everything away
With nothing in return
I waited as I watched the world go by
Still I've given everything away with no return

Love Field
You lie so unfolded
In a love field
With your contempt for any modesty
In a love field
In a love field
In a love field
You yield with your lips still sealed
In a love field
Lost in a sea of imaginary women
Everything youd want
From the dawn to the dimming
Breath comes sharp and heart beats faster
In a love field
Cold ground for a pillow
Under a blanket of stars
In a love field
In a love field
In a love field
Headlights that startled
This embrace of hours
In a love field
In a crooked house
Where things can be arranged
You think youre different from the rest
But you dont see how youve changed
Under an archway
On a road of white linen
In a love field
Feel the anxious rhythm of a functional stranger
In a love field
In a love field
In a love field
Shes so tense but its never mentioned
In a love field
