Hardened And Tempered
I once was forsaken
Broken and blind
I was lost in the darkness
I was lost in my mind
Hardened and tempered
Refined of all dross
Hardened and tempered
Whatever the cost
And then I found Jesus
Now forever I'll be
Bathed in your beauty
Closer to thee
Hardened and tempered
And only for thee
Hardened and tempered
To thine arms I flee

When you see anyone complaining of such and such a person's ill-nature and bad temper, know that the complainant is bad-tempered, forasmuch as he speaks ill of that bad-tempered person, because he alone is good-tempered who is quietly forbearing towards the bad-tempered and ill-natured.

As a journalist, it is so easy to get hardened when you see so many stories that are disturbing. Sometimes it's just your survival mechanism that makes you hardened to some of it.

About Us......
our sensitivities
grow in a glass house
hardened
by incoming stones
who is afraid of the pieces
of broken glasses?
our wrists are experienced
sufferers
they heal themselves in
due time
we know what the word
endure means
by heart
we are devoured somehow
but still whole
in those vomits
do they find us bitter pills?
don't they know that we are the cure
of those unreasonable fears?
those stones turn out
to be marshmallows getting more
delicious looking
at the flames
on those cold evenings
beneath the
darkness in the forest
we eats stones
no longer afraid of indigestion
our guts
have kept the morning glories
glorious gods
with hardened walls

The Love That You Have
The love that you had
In your heart is gone
Any touch of sincerity
Any trace of compassion
What hardened your heart?
What turned it to stone?
What made you forget?
You were in love with someone
Your hands dont reach out
Your voice doesnt call me
I know youve stopped listening
Your eyes look straight through me
If nights are like this
Id rather be alone
Who said you could forget
You were in love with someone?
Tell me what hardened your heart
Tell me what turned it to stone
Tell me what made you forget
You were in love with someone
Was I wrong to forgive
Your indiscretions?
Should I have been more hysterical
Less understanding?
If youre looking for a villain
Go on assume the role
But dont say that its my fault
That youre not in love with someone
Tell me what hardened your heart
Tell me what turned it to stone
Tell me what made you forget
You were in love with someone
Tell me theres someone in your life
Ill fight to keep your for my own
Tell me because I really want to know
Why you cant be in love with someone

Run
Answer me
Why wont you answer me
I cant recall the day that I last heard from you
Well you dont get a town like this for nothing
So heres what youve got to do
You work your way to the top of the world
Then you break your life in two
Well whats the use in complaining
When youve got what you dont need
Anyone would think you were hardened too
What do you want me to believe
What the hell is happening
I cant think of everything
I dont know what day it is
Or who Im talking to
But I know that Im ok
cause youre here with me today
I havent got a single problem
Now that Im with you
So whats the use in complaining
When youve got everything you need
Anyone would think you were hardened too
What do you want me to believe

Hymn
Oh refuge of my hardened heart
Oh fast pursuing lover come
As angels dance 'round Your throne
My life by captured fare You own
Not silhouette of trodden faith
Nor death shall not my steps be guide
I'll pirouette upon mine grave
For in Your path I'll run and hide
[Chorus:]
Oh gaze of love so melt my pride
That I may in Your house but kneel
And in my brokenness to cry
Spring worship unto Thee
When beauty breaks the spell of pain
The bludgeoned heart shall burst in vain
But not when love be pointed king
And truth shall Thee forever reign
[Chorus]
Sweet Jesus carry me away
From cold of night

On Mrs Mendez' Birthday, Who Was Born On Valentine's Day
Thine is the gentle day of love,
When youths and virgins try their fate;
When, deep retiring to the grove,
Each feathered songster weds his mate.
With tempered beams the skies are bright,
Earth decks in smiles her pleasing face;
Such is the day that gave thee light,
And speaks as such thy every grace.

These Footprints
Walk
gently
through
the sands
of time.
Tempered
with
love
patience
respect
and kindness.
These
footprints
will last
forever..

Emma's Dell
A poet roamed by rushing brook
Early springtime morning. The sound
Seemed softer than it should,
Tempered by, tempering,
Eager buds, new greens all around.
Still bare trees, they tempered too.
Contrast breeds content.
Then round a turn mad rushing brook
Maddened beast and bird.
Sound seemed of the air-
Like air, would never cease.
Green seemed of the rocks.
Content is content.
A cottage overlooked the brook.
'My thoughts at least are mine.
I've told them to the shepherds.
How contrast can contain content.
How content is content.
Pondering perhaps my words
Years after we are spent
They'll call the dell not what I call it,
They'll call it WILL'S DELL EMMA.'

Something of innocence was lost
I knew Shell-shocked troops,
who were battle hardened
and who struggled between
the sense and senselessness of killing.
Something of innocence was lost
and some brutal thing was gained
and the fatality of life remained

Inspirations
Sometimes inspirations
come from humble things,
things that many people
don’t take the time to see.
They go on life’s journey
ignoring everything around,
the sweet sound of nature
that all around us are found.
They ignore the life giving air
that is tempered by the breeze.
They only see what they want,
ignoring all they have.
Then a writer comes along
his mind ready to explore
all the beauty and all the sounds
and writes them down.
They call it inspiration
and everywhere it can be found.
