Elephant Fort

Black beauties in chains-
Before the ticket counters,
A long queue does creep
To scatter near black wonders.

Ears and tails always move,
Ruminating rhythms of forest.
Elephants are inside the fort,
Exposed to the sky barest.

I hear the hushed emotions
In the clinking of chains.
Hearts are smouldering inside;
Eyes emit lava of pains.

Burning red wild flowers
And the tickling streams
Each elephant longs I know:
But chains kill the dreams.

Unbrakeable chains

These chains around me are all but unbrakable.
They leed my to self distrution.
But still I cant brake these chains.
The chains of depression.
They are wrapped around me tight as tight.

I Hate these chains.
As they pull me down.
These chains bring me to my knees.
Never braking never losening.
These chains are the demon from afar.

These chains have put me in selfdestruct.
The chains pressed the buttons long ago.
These chains will never brake.
Never brake untill I've met my end.

Chains On My Neck
I’m black here I sit with chains on my neck
I’m beside other black men with chains on their necks
I’m waiting but while I wait my mind
takes me to my village
There, there is my home
I built it with my hands and my brothers hands
I built it with my sweat and pride
a very, very fine house indeed
But I am here sitting with chains on my neck
Beside other black men with chains on their necks
I see in my minds eye my fine house
I bring in furniture, built by my hands and my father’s hands
Strong furniture made with care from the best trees
But I am here sitting with chains on my neck
Beside other black men with chains on their necks
I see again in my minds eye my fine house
I bring in my spear, ax and shield
Deadly weapons to attack or defend
I mount them on the wall of my fine house
But I am sitting with chains on my neck
Beside me other black men with chains on their necks
I shake my chains and my house is on the other end of my chains.

Give Us Chains We Can Believe In

What has occurred at that vacant plantation?
It looks as if there had been a stampede.
Rusted gates have been broken off their hinges.
And hundreds of people inside the main house,
Have barricaded themselves against the doors...
And wont leave.

'I am not mystified by this at all.
Listen to what the people inside are screaming.'

~Give us chains we can believe in.
Chains we can believe in.
We demand chains we can believe in.~

But...
There has been change!
Maybe not as fast as many would like.
But there has been change and is witnessed.
And observed.

'You don't understand.
Listen carefully to what they are demanding.
And...
They represent hundreds more,
Strill feeding into stereotypes.'

~Give us chains we can believe in.

We demand chains we can believe in.~

And who is that guy munching on that fat cigar,
Carrying that megaphone and pacing back and forth?

'Here it gets real confusing.
You see...
He owns the property.
And he wants everybody out.
So he can renovate the plantation,
With a golf course and condos.
He's been trying now for decades...
So he says.
To convince the people inside they are free.'

For decades?
He exaggerates.

'He may not be.
I've been witnessing this for 'hours'.
And I am not in disbelief.'
