On A Mission
Through the shopping Arcades
full of various trades.
Folk go on a mission
with just one ambition.
To find some great bargains
within some tight margins.
Funds are in a low state,
makes the poor heart deflate.
No designer labels
laid out on ‘posh’ tables,
will attract them to buy,
when the price is too high.
Window glancing today,
at what’s put on display.
Credit cards, they are bad.
Build arrears, so sad.
Save enough, pay your way.
Best advice to convey.
A much happier you,
when you’ve paid what is due.
What you’ve bought is now yours,
no account at the stores.
Why be saddled with debts,
loaded down with regrets.
If you reserve your cash,
don’t go spending slapdash.
Then the sum will be good,
to spend just as you would
For there’s offers out there,
on clothes ready to wear.

Shop, she shops!
Once she constantly smiled
Bought cloths and jewelry that gave her style
Shop, shop, shop
She shopped till she dropped
Shop, shop, shop
She just could not seem to stop
Her credit was on top
Her spending way rocket up
She paid with cash or credit card
This Lady was absolutely shopping mad
Shoping malls!
Markets stalls!
Shoes, clothing, and handbags she bought all year long
Spend, spend and spend daily was her beloved song
Shop, shop, shop
She now shops like a flop
Shop, shop, shop
This lady has now put a stop
Today is different shopping expedition
This time spending with supervision
No more that crazy spending addiction
Her credit card is cut
Her goods seized, the whole lot
Today she spends, her pockets hurt!
She has become street wise
Haggling with each price
She has become precise
About what she needs and not what is nice
Shop, shop, shop
She shops like a flop
Shop, shop, shop
Her spending has taken a big drop!
This lady has now put a stop to shop!

Boast About Your Bargains!
Price-drop-tv is where it's at,
If money you would save,
That's where they like to trim the fat
Off items that we crave!
From gadgets through to jewellery,
The list goes on and on,
The prices plummet till they see
Their present stock's all gone!
Some shopping channels stare amazed
When viewers pay much less,
That's why the channel's highly praised
Based on our happiness!
Consider what you'd pay elsewhere!
It's frightening when you think!
Price-drop-tv, just doesn't care,
They let the prices sink!
Yes, my home's now full of bargains,
They're there in every room...
The money saved just simply stuns,
Much more than you'd assume!
So, take advantage, just like me...
Remember to be kind!
Each time you watch price-drop-tv,
Keep other folks in mind!
I've saved a fortune every year,
My receipts are the proof!
The facts are there, quite crystal clear,
I'm telling you the truth!
I've bought things for a penny!
I've bought things for a pound!
Yes, in fact, I've bought so many,
I boast bargains that astound!

Enemy
I owe no man, no man owes me
Exactly as it ought to be.
I pay hard cash for what I buy.
There is a simple reason why.
I will not pay expensively
for things I buy impulsively.
I do not need the latest style
I find that if I wait a while.
That fashion change and prices fall
I can resist the siren call.
Of T.V. adverts telling me
that I can have all that I see.
By spending on my credit card,
but I am always on my guard.
I have no debts that worry me
at nights I can sleep peacefully.
Your credit cards an enemy
although it claims to be friendly
I know it is convenient
It’s too easy to get overspent,

Good Advice
Open the window I need some air
So many people and theres such disorder here
Familiar faces found out lies
Turn to the street now I watch the passers by
I wonder what they recognize
And what theyd recommend to fill my days
Possessions start to wear me down
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Instead they harbor secret thoughts
They break through windows that have twice been locked
I have to walk to wear me out
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
I throw my arms and pray to leave
I gotta head for love like is inside me
My lips press tight so not to drown
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Im nervous
Give me some good advice to wear me down

6. Must Have
Special offers at my superstore
Get bigger every day
With savings on their bulk buys
Reducing what we pay
I bought a pack of toilet rolls
Fifteen’s but paid for twelve’s
It seemed a super bargain
Taking three more from the shelves
Lots of chocolate biscuits
If you buy one get one free
This also seemed a super deal
So I bought another three
If you bought a jar of coffee
With extra you got bigger
Two of those instead of one
Would change our shopping figure
I bought some bread and butter
With a great big leg of lamb
Fifty mini picnic pies
Plus slices of cooked ham
Lots of things I didn’t need
Filled high my shopping barrow
I’d only gone to buy some milk
And I’d even bought a marrow

I’ve Tried
There is nothing left to do or say
I’ve done my best in every way.
I've tried to live as a decent man
and be as honourable, as I can.
I’ve tried to be honest in all I do,
be loyal and unreservedly true.
I've worked relentlessly all my life
and put up with an unfaithful wife.
I had plenty of ambition as a younger man,
but doors never opened the way they can.
Somehow the sun didn't shine down on me,
wrong time and place, wasn't meant to be.
According to her, I never earned enough,
which made her social life very tough.
Clothes, shoes, hair, and beauty creams
were most important, and not extreme.
With me rarely having anything new to wear,
I managed with second hand or charity fair.
A night out for me; there was no chance of that;
she had the nights out whilst I baby sat.
My children's education lacked full support
because of their mother's selfish thoughts.
She managed to amass huge credit card debts
and this couldn’t be under the carpet swept.
The bailiffs came in and emptied the home,
power was cut off, with the water and phone.
My father-in-law said our debts he would pay
if she destroyed the credit cards right away.
She promised and lied, and life got worse,
and still there was nothing in her purse.
Credit cards again became her magic wand,
debts grew higher, and way beyond.
I worked all the hours that heaven sent,
but the more I earned the more she spent.
I was trapped in a circle of torment and pain,
and felt my inadequacies were to blame.
A sure way out would be the insurance money
if I actually went missing at sea...
Tomorrow I'll go to work in the usual way
and catch the boat from Dover to Calais

Until Again The Gloss Wears Off
Money motivators,
Chase it as if craved.
With only one thing on their minds...
How to keep sentimentally kept teasured clutter,
With an updated sameness.
That maintains a 'living within their means mentality'.
This affords them an opportunity,
To activate a rearrangement of a thought process...
That tolerates new complaints!
Until again the gloss wears off.
No matter what the hidden cost,
That comes to satisfy...
Within unchanged limitations.
And a credit score that is boasted about,
Among friends.
'I do not want 'anything'...
Absolutely nothing,
To affect my good credit rating.
I find it is advantageous,
However...
To only use any of my credit cards,
Only while out shopping to purchase bargains!
And I've got a houseful of those.'

The 'Look-At-Me-And-What-I've-Got-Type
I've met a few snooty people in my days.
The ones who perceived themselves,
Better than others...
Because of a higher mortgage the had to pay.
Or the ones who bragged about their good credit.
And would announce the number of their credit cards,
To anyone for a quick display.
And those who were comfortable being who they are,
Always attracted my attention with admiration.
Those who were comfortable being who they are...
Were honest with themselves.
And to me this was a priceless possession.
People who talk about their stocks and bonds,
And investments they live on...
I don't fault them for what they believe is security.
People have their values and I respect that.
It is the ones self obsessed who appear to thrive best,
On masquerading their unhappiness....
With a projecting of pretentions the try to hide,
In a shallowness of emptiness.
The 'look-at-me-and-what-I've-got-type'.
You know...
The ones climbing down from their high horses,
Hoping not to be seen at night.
Since today the economy,
Has their mouths and lips shut firmly tight!
I've met a few snooty people in my days.
The ones who perceived themselves,
Better than others...
Because of a higher mortgage the had to pay.
Or the ones who bragged about their good credit.
And would announce the number of their credit cards,
To anyone for a quick display.
Well...
Those who were and 'still' comfortable being who they are,
Always attracted my attention with admiration.

In Shepherd’s Bush - Hymn to Westfield
In Shepherd’s Bush, I shall not want
For anything to buy,
For Westfield shopping centre, there,
Will all my wants supply.
My spirits are restored again
When I can view the ranks
Of well-stocked, chic designer shops
E’en though I owe the banks.
Yea, though I walk through debt’s dark vale,
As I approach the till,
My credit card will comfort me,
Though I still fear the bill.
For there are tables, furniture
And presents, cushions, throws
To decorate my living room
Until it overflows.
And though the bailiffs some fine day
May try to follow me,
Still, shopping malls, my spending place
Forevermore shalt be.

Rip Off for M lady Tara
Designer labels I won’t buy.
Because I see no reason why
I should be advertising free
I think they should be paying me.
The prices asked truly obscene
I am quite sure they would have been
without the label half the price.
There’s no end to their avarice.
I will not be their willing tool
I pride myself I’m not a fool
Should I see something which I like
I buy a cheaper look alike.
Though you prefer designer clothes.
I don’t, I won’t pay through the nose.

No Cash. No Hash
Bad credit?
I wouldn't have applied for credit at all...
If I could afford what i wanted.
Whether good or bad,
I have never had a grocery store...
Foreclose on my eating habits.
And even though the subject may seem ridiculous,
It's like this...
If I don't have the cash,
No eggs with hash splashed with a dash of catsup...
Will I taste to nibble, sniff or eat.
Try shopping for food,
With all resources depleted.
No cash.
No hash.
Whether credit is good, sad, bad...
Or just nonexistent.
A signature with a promised I.O.U.
Will not do.
Even in the best of times!

Free Your Mind
I wear tight clothing and high heel shoes it doesnt make me a prostitute
I like rap music wear hip-hop clothes
That doesnt mean that Im sellin dope
Oh my please forgive me for having
Straight hair
It doesnt mean theres another blood in
My heirs
I might date another race or color
Doesnt mean I dont like my strong
Black brothers
Chorus:free your mind and the rest will follow, be colorblind, dont be so shallow(before you read me you gotta learn how to see me)
So Im a sista
Buy things with cash
That really doesnt mean that all my
Credit is bad,
So why dispute me and waste my time,
Because you think that the price is too
High for me
I cant look without being watched
You rang my buy before I made up my,
Mind
Oh now attitude why even bother
I cant change your mind you cant
Change my color
Repeat chorus two times

More Arrogant Than Necessary
Remember a few years ago,
When folks 'with' good credit...
Use to brag about the number of cards,
They had.
'I have all the major ones!
And you? '
None!
'None? Well...
I pride myself on maintaining good credit! '
I'm a true American.
Destined to have bad credit...
I guess!
And 'today' my bad credit prevented me,
From getting a credit card.
I did have one many years ago.
I never used it and was still stuck with a bill.
Charging me fees for 'non-use'.
Oh yes!
Now I've heard...
Not only have some folks experienced,
Tripled interests rates.
They are charged an additional fee...
IF less than two items are purchased in a single month.
AND...'if' the bank is not paid for those purchases,
Within thirty days...
That's another fee!
Years ago I frequented a store called Nellie's
On Canton Street in Hartford.
I was a kid.
Grown...
But a child nonetheless.
It was rare for me to have money.
But I ended up in Nellie's talking with her.
And she'd give me a lollipop.
I was a child using my charm to the max.
One day I licked on a lollipop...
And Ms Nellie said, 'Two for Five cents.'
'I ain't got no five cents, Ms Nellie! '
~That's your last lollipop! ~
Where are they?
What have we done to those teachers?
Who stuck by a decision to feed addicting greed to folks?
Especially to the ones who ain't got no cash.
Or none laying around in a bank.
If 'they' did 'they' would not be closing them!
I demanded my account closed years ago.
And took all of my twenty dollars out!
The manager had stated...
I was 'acting' more arrogant than necessary.
'Excuse me?
Close my account! Now.
And that will be in 'twenty' one dollar bills...
Thank you! '
They are using 'my' money?
And pushing 'me' around like that?
I...don't think so!
I'm glad I did that earlier.
The thought of standing in a line,
'Waiting' to see if my life's savings are safe...
I don't have the patience anymore to do!

What Money Can’t Buy
You look good and you know it too
Why no one is as pretty as you
You bought yourself a new car,
Fancy clothes, going to the bar.
High heel shoes, elegant jewels
Ready to party, no hard rules
You think you’re full of class
Your money says it’s so
Always on the go, spending that money
Well just remember this honey
Money can’t buy you class, happiness or respect
Not knowing what you’re doing, be careful what you get.

Affluent Nightmares
In panic, drenched chest in sweat
Life under the sun’s canopy of have not’s
Banks beg for money, accounts in neglect
Loan sharks plead, as we sign on the dot
To snatch deeds bought with blood
Absent or the lack of cash flow in fountains
Bills rising, sweep currents torrential flood
Collector’s bounty, hide on debts mountain
Leave needs behind in grocer stores
Walk on by, window shopping for baby milk
Panting quickly, awake to vast images of gore
Your dreams of poverty, wet sheets made of silk
My everyday living, well being, welfare
The Affluent, these are their Nightmares

Bargains Galore!
The erudite auctioneer, with a voice loud and clear,
Is selling off bizarre stuff, some of it is quite duff,
Things that other folk hate, which is then called top rate,
Yes, people will buy, but goodness knows why!
His gavel descends, then somebody spends.
They produce ready cash, for these goods we call 'trash'.
There are bargains galore, to go out through the door,
Though auctions require fees, which brings some to their knees.
All things can be viewed, with the right attitude,
By a true connoisseur, who is no amateur,
And we did make the grade, when we sold the 'teasmade',
Yep! the saleroom's real great, if you investigate.
Take some effects you don't like, perhaps the Van Dyke,
It should raise a high price, it's pretty fine merchandise.
With the bidding intense, you are kept in suspense,
'Til the very last bid, when you make a few quid.
Commission is paid, so how much have you made,
A reasonable pile, so the sale was worthwhile.
We'll find more to bring, 'French Lalique' or some 'Ming'.
As one never can tell, what treasures will sell.
Victorian, Edwardian, a harp or accordion,
Art Nouveau or Deco, a clock, TV or radio.
Anything and everything, 'Lots' tied up with string,
There's money here to accrue, want a stuffed cockatoo?

Christmas Sells
Dashing through the mall
the last day’s sale parade
Through the stores we charge
spending all the way
Bells on counters ring
credit cards a’flight
Oh what fun to laugh and spend
we’ll shop into the night
Jingle bells Christmas sells
tingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to hide
the cost on lay-away
Christmas sells nothing quells
For opulence we’ll pay
Oh what fun to slide into
financial disarray

Shopping For Dresses (feat. Loretta Lynn)
Jimmie Dickens, Merle Haggard, R. Q. Jackson
Down through the ages men have died for women
And done so for many times
Each time I loved one, I ve always lost one
Seems the right one is so hard to find.
Shopping for dresses with no one to wear them
One in each color, one in each style.
I ll find a lady someday to wear them,
My shopping will be done for awhile.
I ll bet somewhere s a lady shopping for britches
Comparing the value, appraising each pair.
Maybe someday the Lord will bring us together
And we ll both have a new wardrobe to wear
Shopping for dresses with no one to wear them
One in each color and one in each style.
Maybe someday if I'm lucky
I ll find someone to wear them
And my shopping will be done for awhile.
My shopping will be done for awhile.
I m looking for a lady who ll look good in dresses
She must be red-headed, green eyes and be fair.
I ll make exceptions to all my requirements
As long as she s willing to care.
Chorus:
I just saw a beauty with blue eyes, what a cutie
Bond hair like a halo around her did flow,
But the brunette beside her would be just as lovely
In the dresses I bought long ago.
Chorus:
Now as I sit here dreaming, planning and scheming,
Why should I make standards when everyone knows
As your need ranges, women make changes
And you must accept them or just let them go.
Chorus:

Showdown
Tom johnston
I never in my life met a girl so low
Sneakin out the back door of my house below
The fog is creepin in and the moon is full
I do believe she find what shes lookin for
And you know theres gonna be
Showdown
You better get ready
Showdown
Im gonna shoot for the heart
Showdown
Put your cards on the table
Were heading for the showdown tonight
That little girl treat me so mean
Wicked like the devil in tight blue jeans
Here I sit with my head hung low
Waiting for the woman come through that door
Showdown
You better get ready
Showdown
Im gonna shoot for the heart
Showdown
Put your cards on the table
Were heading for the showdown tonight
It wont be easy
Showdown
I said it wont be nice
Showdown
So you better get ready
Get ready for the showdown
Easy come and easy go
It used to work for me
But not any more
If she wants to spend her time with me
She better know what lovins for

Your Late
you live in lies
fabrications
delusion
denial
childlike fantasies
i live in truth sense
not in negative denials
you say
the way i
treat you sucks
yet it is you
always hours late
for every rendezvous
even in your late time
your late
i paid for your food
your drinks
your friends
i paid for your clothes
your i-pod
your cell phones
your lap top
your cell phones
limited edition model
ego demanded
i paid for hotels
for holidays
for your taxis
for your shopping
i paid your bank account
your credit card bills
your needed operations
you always complain
your always negative
your always late
actually your right
one of us has an attitude
an attitude that sucks
