The Cry
the cry for justice,
for human rights,
for equality, for
human dignity...
has never been louder!
Somalia!
Tibet!
Syria!
Israel!
Libya!
Haiti!
Russia!
China!
the United States
the right to work,
to eat, to housing,
to medical care,
to freedom of speech,
to religious freedom.....
the cry for the truth!
for positive change!
this world's in turmoil....
a new day is coming
no matter the cost!

I Hear The Cry
i hear the cry....
oppression, enslavement,
beatings, torture, rapes,
and killings.
people of heart,
slaughtered like sheep.
monks self-immoliating,
crying out for justice,
and freedom,
for basic human dignity,
for basic human rights...
i hear the cry...
of Tibet on fire.
and am ashamed
to be part of a world
turned blind and deaf!

Deep Level Concern
deep level concern;
our own national parks
used as collateral
on loans from China!
water rights to the Great Lakes,
and other bodies of water here...
sold to China!
our jobs, Joe blue collar working
families.... sold to China!
our oil profiteer wars,
financed by China!
sleeping with the country
with the worst human rights record,
dancing with the devil!
and now, our own police forces
committing acts of violence
and oppression against Americans!
against American people protesting,
standing up for freedom and equality!
standing against the profiteers!
reacting the same way,
and with the same types of oppression,
as China!
our rights,
...our freedom,
......our dignity.
even our rights to work and survive....
sold to....
.....and even worse,
...........sold by!

The Cost of Freedom
Syria...
violence in the streets...
peaceful protesters
marching for human rights,
equality, and change
being slaughtered
by their own government...
now here...
shadows of Kent State...
common people
pushed to the edge
in the battle for
survival, human dignity,
and hope for a future...
already abandoned
by our own government...
will it take being
killed to get their attention?
will it take dying
to give our children
a chance?
you say it cant happen here!
open your eyes, your ears,
your hearts...
it's already begun!
what is the cost of freedom?

The Basic Rights (Of All People)
can we not learn
from our brothers and sisters
in Egypt....
how hard it is to take
freedom back once they take hold?
can we not see the value,
the right to vote and be counted,
the right to speak and be heard,
even at the cost of lives?
can we not see
that this battle is worldwide?
to restore freedom and dignity
to the human race!
the basic rights of all people
to work, to eat, and have shelter....
to breathe, and be human,
are at stake!

On the Innate Drive For What is Right
As life bled, martyrdom flared its buds.
Repression, red from irritation,
Rendered chinks and cracks; but thuds of
Armament - in cowardice - accomplice of the
Dictatorial blight thro' countless years -
Wreaked its retribution:
Yet hope began to bloom a coloured carapace
Enshrining their allegiance ‘gainst the
Terror in their tears.
And on! Splits yawned - breaches in the junta:
Flesh fought fanatical minds -
Bullets welcomed into open hands
And blessed with yearnings for morality:
Chiselled man-toys of death and mutilation
Couldn't repel the might of freedom
Surging at the bright horizon.
Crepuscular rays of purpose, body,
Flooded pandemonium with
Overwhelming clarity, direction -
Burdened clouds drifting wayward as the
Light channelled out a vision,
Intensifying focus on tomorrow -
Deepen their stride
As they home in to
What is theirs,
Rightfully theirs!

In The Shadows
who's invading whom?
shall we kill again in the name
of freedom?
does capitalism have its own
savior, complete with cross and grave?
in the name of security,
we take human rights...
now the truth becomes a threat.
bodies bought and sold, sacrificed to wars,
bodies without faces!
and freedom well armed and lusty,
kills justice and equality in the shadows!

So Much For Human Rights And Liberty
In China they jail everyone who dare to speak their mind
And even in the so called Democratic Countries you will find
That many innocents have been jailed and even executed wrongfully
So much for human rights and liberty.
Even the United States the so called Land of the free
In human rights has a poor history
And people have been wrongfully jailed and executed there
But then it's true of course that life is not always fair.
In Britain due to acts of terror by the I.R.A.
Many for the crimes of others had to pay
And spend years in jails far from home and family
Though wrongfully condemned they suffered years of ignominy
In Australia they incarcerate refugees
In detention centres in the outback in landscapes barren of trees
Though not guilty of any crimes they spend months and years locked up because
Of bureaucratic red tape and oppressive laws.
Though for freedom and justice many young men have fought and died
Not alone in China but in Countries World-wide
People are still wrongfully incarcerated at the pleasure of the State
And due to a miscarriage of justice left to an uncertain fate.

The Man Who Took On Big Brother
The man who stand for human rights, freedom and justice
Is now in jail perhaps for a long stay
The authorities say he an an agitator
The only reason he is locked away.
He was a brave man to take on big brother
For those who take on big brother are few
And though he may spend many years behind bars
To a higher human principle he is true.
He could have kept his mouth shut like me and others
For human rights is not a popular thing
Instead he spoke his mind and got in trouble
And the wrath of big brother upon himself did bring.
He is that man who dared to take on big brother
But for his brave stand he is in jail today
And for speaking out for human rights and justice
His loss of freedom is the price he pay.

Paul Robeson
Paul Robeson was the first great negro singer
Though through his life he knew his share of woe
In his Homeland he was treated as an outcast
But in death his legend seem to grow and grow.
Paul Robeson spoke of freedom peace and justice
And he campaigned for the black Peoples rights
But for his beliefs he was made to suffer
In a country that is governed by whites.
For his membership of the communist party
Paul Robeson an unfair price had to pay
His passport from him it was confiscated
By the authorities in the U.S.A.
Even shunned by some influential blacks in his home Country
And his basic human rights to him denied
But in Russia he was feted as a hero
And Paul Robeson he was revered far and wide.
For freedom, human rights and peace and justice
Paul Robeson so much of himself he gave
And the way he had been treated in his Homeland
Must have had Abe Lincoln turning in his grave
Paul Robeson he will always be remembered
As one of the few who sacrificed their fame
In the cause of human rights and peace and justice
And his lives on as an immortal name.

I Am For
i am for...
justice, equality,
equal distribution of goods.
the right to work,
to speak out, to stand up...
i am for truth at all costs,
for freedom of religion...
i am for peace right now,
right here, and always.
i am for education for all,
for growing our own food.
for breaking the curse of oil...
i am for gay rights, and their right to marry.
i am for diversity, and unity,
and yes you can have both.
i am against...
war, bigotry, greed,
and anything that divides.
i am against the use of force,
the use of fear and manipulation.
i am against narrow minded thinking...
i am against the banning of books.
i am against progress
at the cost of nature.
i am against the wealthy
ruling the poor.
i am against anyone
who wants me to follow,
to change or adapt to
his or her standards.
i am against judgements
made by self righteous people...
i am against ignorance, most of all!
i am for...
people being people,
humans being human.
i am for you!

Human Chronicles
saddened again...
to hear reports of violence
from around the world.
people, everyday people,
killed in an instant,
by rogue gunfire.
and people fighting for freedom,
standing up at all costs,
for their basic human rights.
fighting for food and shelter
in the 21st century!
the furious rabble of anger,
religions hating other religions.
fighting for the 'only god',
the 'only truth'...
and they dont even know
for whom they fight!
more earthquakes in Japan.
destruction, despair, desolation...
and yet they keep whaling!
rabid mindless fighting
in the Middle East.
threats of nuclear war,
oil, and more oil!
fighting over which side
of the street god walked on!
mosques, and temples,
weeping...
while the images of both gods,
turn away in shame!
Eorpoean countries failing,
economic collapse!
unrest in China,
boiling between the lines...
too many people
with too few rights!
Tibet, ravaged, raped, plundered...
while the world turns away!
starvation in Africa,
poverty in Haiti,
fighting in Mexico...
the list goes on...

Freedom
We the people of the United States
In order to form a more perfect union
Stop pretending that you've never been bad
You're never wrong and you've never been dirty
You're such a saint, that ain't the way we see you
You want to rule us with an iron hand
You change the lyrics and become Big Brother
This ain't Russia, you ain't my Dad or Mother
(They never knew anyway)
'Cuz I never walk away from what I know is right
But I'm gonna turn my back on you
Freedom, we're gonna ring the bell
Freedom to rock, freedom to talk
Freedom, raise your fist and yell
Freedom to rock, freedom to talk
Freedom-ring
You're playing God from your ivory tower
Back off preacher, I don't care if it's Sunday
I ain't no angel, but I never felt better
We're a make-up metal degeneration
We're not as stupid as you want to make us
You better leave us man
'Cuz you sure can't take us
Nobody better tell you how to live your life
You gotta do it on your own
Freedom, we're gonna ring the bell
Freedom to rock, freedom to talk
Freedom, raise your fist and yell
Freedom to rock, freedom to talk
Freedom-ring
Cuz I never walk away from what I know is right
But I'm gonna turn my back on you
Freedom, we're gonna ring the bell
Freedom to rock, freedom to talk
Freedom, raise your fist and yell
Freedom

Where's The Freedom And Justice?
where's the freedom and justice?
trapped behind bars
watching lightning fast cars
where's the freedom and justice?
why keep hope
when happiness pops like soap
where's the freedom and justice?
cant breathe
cant leave
where's the freedom and justice?
hate misery
hate mystery
where's the freedom and justice?
you get raped
get interviewed on tape
where's the freedom and justice?
goes to court
but his bad luck is not the unlucky sort
where's the freedom and justice?
he get's away
i like an idea that's revenge is a way!
where's the freedom and justice?
