Lost In The Sixties...
forever lost in the sixties...
in the passions, the ideals,
the cries for peace and equality,
for human dignity,
and no more wars.
the music, the poetry,
the communal lifestyle...
but the deaths were many.
assassinations, Hoover style.
and those lost to heroin,
who fell off the edge.
thousands killed in Vietnam,
you'd think we would have learned...
but life went on,
the wheel kept turning.
50 years later,
two more wars,
not to mention invasions.
things worse than ever before.
we who survived became
the very thing that we hated!
we closed our eyes,
fell victim to the greed.
again crying out,
for peace and equality,
for human dignity,
and for human rights.
the earth dying,
because of our decisions.
we who became islands
seeking to fulfill the self,
now must cling to each other,
and become family again.
standing against the lies,
the propaganda, and the money machine...
singing songs of peace
with bloody hands.
lost in the sixties,
but very much here in the 21st century...
the last stand of freedom,
in a world gone mad!

The Truth About War
all wars are wrong!
war is killing masked in ideals.
most of the people killed
in wars are not soldiers,
- often women and children.
we dont have the right to invade,
to conquer, or to mold other countries.
we dont own them!
we dont even own the earth
we're living on.
killing is wrong.
all of life is sacred.
we dont have the right
to take another's life.
we dont have the right
to play God...
we're not even very good
at being human.
fear, insecurity, greed...
no matter what the propaganda,
it's all lies!
the act of war is
the act of murder....
democracy doesnt take by force...
it allows human choice to prevail.
war is the machine of the soulless,
peace is a conscious decision!

The Sound Of Wings.....
from the bars of the cell,
i learned freedom from the body.
from the underside of the bridge,
i learned home has not a house.
from forty years of working,
i learned the bitterness of the slave.
from the political lies,
i learned that truth cant be bought.
from the books i read,
i learned to reason and question.
from the heroin needle,
i learned the value of life.
from love lost,
i learned how to love.
from doubt i learned seeking,
in seeking i found god to be more.
from the scars on my heart,
i learned to be a man.
from battles fought and lost,
i learned the need for peace.
from discrimination i learned equality,
from anger i learned forgiveness.
from the mirror i learned responsibility...
from the bars of the cell,
i learned the sound of wings!

The Cost of Freedom
Syria...
violence in the streets...
peaceful protesters
marching for human rights,
equality, and change
being slaughtered
by their own government...
now here...
shadows of Kent State...
common people
pushed to the edge
in the battle for
survival, human dignity,
and hope for a future...
already abandoned
by our own government...
will it take being
killed to get their attention?
will it take dying
to give our children
a chance?
you say it cant happen here!
open your eyes, your ears,
your hearts...
it's already begun!
what is the cost of freedom?

Revolution Of Freedom For The Innocents Of Our Land
You hear the cries of many
As they cry to be free from all that is
The wars of human kind
Lay desolate to our lands
The dictatorship of life
Affects all of us in life
But how do we stand up
To the wars that kill our land
Innocent lives are many
Wasted upon the ground of life
Can you ignore the blood shed?
Of so many lost souls of war
Then one soul stands alone
Tired of the chaos of this world
And stands for the freedom
Of innocents of our land
THE MOMENTEM STARTS AS ONE
A voice that needs to be heard
Believe what you say
And mean every single word
If you believe in life
Then lay down the weapons of war
If you believe in love
Then accept human's beliefs for what they are
If you believe in peace
Then accept all races all religions
As equals in this world
If you believe in all of the above
Then you're a special human being
Never doubt your word
Never doubt who you are
Speak up for all those innocents
If this is what you believe

The World Needs Peace, Not Through Wars!
What loss of lives and destruction!
Can lives all lost ever return?
How many more will have to die?
Can one man’s death bring back lives lost?
What pollution, a war can add!
Let Cats who declare wars on mice,
Take the blame and pay the price!
War is a gambling game like dice;
War is a futile exercise.
One cannot fight wars with mere knives;
War is a waste of human lives;
Alas, will nations realize
That keeping peace is always wise?
Wars can begin without a cause;
The world can’t have a single boss!
One nation can’t stifle the rest,
Or try to be always the best.
The world body must give OK!
The world must say to wars, all ‘nay’;
For lasting peace, war isn’t the way!
The cost of wars, who will repay?
The world must find out other ways,
Avoiding wars in future days;
Each nation must unmask its face,
And set on peace, its gaze always!

Dignity
Dignity is what we want,
As human beings on this earth;
Dignity is what we can’t,
Give up anyway since birth.
Dignity is innate right,
God has bestowed man, He made;
Dignity is cause to fight
When employees get under-paid.
Dignity, all need always
At home, at school and one’s work-place;
Dignity for human race,
Men must guarantee all days.
Dignity in livelihood,
Receive should all citizens;
Dignity in dying too,
World must assure everyone.
Dignity is what we need
In life on earth and when we die;
Dignity is good indeed
For creatures born under the sky.
Dignity for man and beast
Is a must for all, west / east;
Dignity for anyone
Shouldn’t be denied, any time!

Deep Level Concern
deep level concern;
our own national parks
used as collateral
on loans from China!
water rights to the Great Lakes,
and other bodies of water here...
sold to China!
our jobs, Joe blue collar working
families.... sold to China!
our oil profiteer wars,
financed by China!
sleeping with the country
with the worst human rights record,
dancing with the devil!
and now, our own police forces
committing acts of violence
and oppression against Americans!
against American people protesting,
standing up for freedom and equality!
standing against the profiteers!
reacting the same way,
and with the same types of oppression,
as China!
our rights,
...our freedom,
......our dignity.
even our rights to work and survive....
sold to....
.....and even worse,
...........sold by!

Oh, Stop the Wars, Man!
Oh, stop the wars, Man
Let peace prevail again;
Wars bring more death
And destruction, not peace;
Christmas is near-
The birthday of Jesus;
He brings both joy
And peace to good-willed men!
Oh, stop the wars, Man!
For, they are meaningless;
No nation should
Invade the other;
The blood of innocent lives lost
Cries out to God for revenge;
Violence begets
Violence always.
Oh, stop the wars, Man!
And stop the mad killings;
The air and soil
And water get polluted;
What colossal wastes
Of lives, money and materials!
Do leaders know
That wars boomerang?
Oh, stop the wars, Man!
Let nations live in peace;
Nature’s furies,
We must always face.
Use the money
To build the earth,
And help the poor.
Only then, God will bless
Your own country!

I Am (Justice)
i am, become...
i am the African slave
working in the deep Mississippi sun;
his eyes, his muscles, his back, his heart,
all shouting 'freedom'...
i am the college student,
hanging from a tree
in the sixties south,
who died for his conviction...
i am the minister
who joined the protest for peace,
dignity, and equality,
his face bashed in by the officer's club,
handcuffed in the back of the van...
i am the turning of the seasons
through prison bars,
the watered down coffee,
the tiny cell.
i am the one ridiculed and rundown
by the conservative righteous right,
for standing up for individual rights.
i am the young family left stranded
on food stamps and unemployment checks,
their future teetering...
i am the illegal immigrant beaten
in the Arizona desert,
left to die by the side of the road....
i am the working poor,
the honest and true,
driven to desperation...
i am hard and coiled,
i am America crying out for justice, , ,
i am, become...

Sonnet: Lasting Peace on Earth
The peace that’s found on earth lasts not for long,
As leaders break their promises often;
The peace that wars bring serves to just prolong
The rivalries, when differences soften.
Man needs the peace of mind, of heart and soul,
Apart from peace surrounding his earth’s space;
Progress in fields occurs when peace is goal,
And keeps the health and wealth of human race.
The peace that wars unleash is quite futile;
The peace that dialogues bring, much better;
The peace that world bodies give is fragile;
The Maker is the final peace-setter!
The peace that man bestows on earth is short;
The peace that God ushers, none can abort!

A Fair Go For All People
A fair go for all people to such I can relate
Whatever be their culture their race, beliefs or faith
Down with rank and class distinction and here's to the fair go
In an egalatarian society peace and harmony would grow
A fair go for all people how marvellous that would be
Outlaw discrimination and hunger and poverty
Outlaw rank and class distinction of them remove all trace
Make human rights a sacred thing as well as equality of race
The equality of humanity I may not live to see
Amongst Nations and different cultures it would lead to harmony
Egalatarianism amongst human kind of such we cannot boast
But a fair go for all people to that I will drink a toast
We cannot expect those different to respect us if respect to them we do not show
Here's to peace, justice, freedom and equality and to all a fair go.

No Peace With The Guns
Seek for the peace within your heart/
Never ask for peace with guns/
Ask for peace at the silence of the nights/
In your prayers you may ask the God/
If you really deserve it you will find/
How can you ask for freedom, for peace/
If you are taking away innocence people's freedom and their peace/
The martyrs mothers are crying bloody tears/
Thousands of children have been killed/
How can you ask for freedom and for your peace/
If you are taking away other's peace/
Their simplest right in this iife
You are taking away their lives/
What there would be left if the main purpose in the life is gone/

Live In Peace and Harmony
I once was asked
Is there peace
In this world
I wish I could say
Yes there is peace
In this life
But the war's
Are to many
People die
Every day
What can we do?
To stop death in its wake
Why must men
Take a human life
Why must men
Fight for their lives
In wars that are senseless
Ignoring the frailty of life
Teardrops are falling
At all the lost souls
Will humanity ever see?
This world
Live in Peace and Harmony
All I can do is cry
All I can do is pray
That we all live to see
Peace and Harmony in our lives

Peace On Earth, Good Will Toward Men
Peace on earth, good will toward men
Now, isn't that a mouthful
Peace on earth, good will toward men?
Unfortunately that's doubtful
Good will towards men?
With hatred so widespread
Good will towards men
Is much too casually said
Peace on earth, ideally human
An ideal worth the effort for
Peace on earth for our children's children
So they won't be fraught with future wars
To reach that goal we all must strive
When all seems lost, just strive again
To keep our future hopes alive
For peace on earth, good will toward men

So what we're talking about here is human rights. The right to live like a human. The right to live, period. And what we're facing in Africa is an unprecedented threat to human dignity and equality.
Against Their Human Rights
How many times have I heard them say
it’s against his human rights
when a killer goes to court?
Hey, but what about the victim
and his or her family.
Don’t they have human rights too?
Is it only the killers who have human rights?
It really makes you wonder.
They commit a crime against
someone innocent in our society.
Then you get some idiot
starts shouting their punishment
is against their human rights.
Now what would happen if that idiot
lost a family member to some killer?
Would they still be shouting
and waving banners about his human rights?
I sincerely doubt it;
they’d probably say like a lot of us
that the killer has no human rights.
They forfeited them the day
they took someone’s life.
We may forgive them
for what they do,
but they must still take the punishment
the Courts of the land hand down.

The Cry
the cry for justice,
for human rights,
for equality, for
human dignity...
has never been louder!
Somalia!
Tibet!
Syria!
Israel!
Libya!
Haiti!
Russia!
China!
the United States
the right to work,
to eat, to housing,
to medical care,
to freedom of speech,
to religious freedom.....
the cry for the truth!
for positive change!
this world's in turmoil....
a new day is coming
no matter the cost!

Seeds of Peace Were Planted
Serious, Noble Eyes
Color of the Earth - color of Mystery-
Color of Simplicity and gorgeous
human Dignity
From the dirty purity of this color
Sprouts the Green; Color of Life
-Color of innocence
Color of FREEDOM
Gandhi - He looked upon the world
each stranger, his Brother
-Gazed across Continents
and into the Sun(rise)
knowing the wise way of fighting
by NOT FIGHTING...
With round, contemplative skull
he captured suffering
and shook it lose
turned it upside down
until pieces of Hope, Dignity,
and even pieces of Peace
fell out onto the ground
-Seeds of Peace were planted
planted within his very eyes-
And with the nourishment
of Time, India's Spring of Joy,
Spring of Victory...blossomed
-and the whole world
could smell the flowers.

Lost Hearts Strong Hearts
how many lost hearts are in this world?
grown men and women
young boys and girls.
different hearts for different loves
all seeking the answers from above.
the lost heart when somebody
departs from this earth.
a lost heart when a woman gives birth.
the lost heart of a dream shattered
which was 'all in your life that mattered'.
the lost heart of a man for a woman
and a woman for the man
when they decide to take a stand.
but! the lost heart does not need a hand.
the human heart is the only
thing in this life, that has outlived
everything in this world.
it was placed gently in our chests
for this was where it suited it best.
it has learned all the emotions
pain, passion, heartbreak, sorrows, joy
and all that came its way
and in this world will forever stay.

Trainwrecks
i think sometimes it takes trainwrecks,
before we'll sit down and look at, really look at,
who we are, what we are, and what we've become.
and i've had more than my share of trainwrecks....
often we bring them on ourselves, but sometimes
we have help...
it is the nature of life now that we get used, abused,
betrayed, and tormented....it makes one wonder how
much of that goes on inside us...
for the real battle is always within.
all the good and evil, all the hatreds, all the love,
all the wars, all injustices, human consciousness,
peace, and equality... all begin and end within us.
read a quote the other day... forgot who said it, that
went something like, '...there are people so good they
could never harm or kill anyone. i'm not one of them.
i wish i was... but i have to work at it.' and i understood!
i did a lot of things, especially when i was younger, that
i regret. and i paid the price.
i've made a lot of bad decisions, worked for a lot of
unscrupulous people, that used you for what they wanted,
and dumped you.
i've lost everything i had more than once, and stand to again.
when you think you dont have anything left to lose, life has
a way of showing you different.
we too often forget the value of the small things. we forget
what really matters.
and so you get pushed in a hard corner, and you stand up
angry, ready to fight. but what you're fighting is so big
you dont know where to start.... and you're fighting a
battle you cannot win!
and part of it is that the times are hard now. we've run
out of options, we have become expendable! the sad thing
is that we let this happen. we turned our heads, and walked
in indifference.
i am not a good man, nor a bad man. i am a man!
58 years old, with health issues, still wanting to work,
still fighting for what i believe is right. i have seen and
known a depth in life that i try to live, that i try to share,
with my actions, words, and intentions.
but i've reached the point where i'm not willing to
take any more shit! if i've done the wrong thing, then i
own my mistakes. but i wont apologize for what i think
is right!
running out of time, and having a hard time finding a
bridge. but that's my problem.
again and again telling my clenched fist to open.....
waiting for a break, some ray of sun....
human,100% human!
