Emily Dickinson

I had been hungry all the years

I had been hungry all the years-
My noon had come, to dine-
I, trembling, drew the table near
And touched the curious wine.

'T was this on tables I had seen
When turning, hungry, lone,
I looked in windows, for the wealth
I could not hope to own.

I did not know the ample bread,
'T was so unlike the crumb
The birds and I had often shared
In Nature's dining-room.

The plenty hurt me, 't was so new,--
Myself felt ill and odd,
As berry of a mountain bush
Transplanted to the road.

Nor was I hungry; so I found
That hunger was a way
Of persons outside windows,
The entering takes away.

I have been Hungry - after Emily Dickinson - I had been hungry all the years

I have been hungry through the years –
undernourished, incomplete -
awaiting in this vale of tears
for welcome symbiosis sweet.

I have been hungry! - vision clears
when appetite the verb to eat
reformulates as eyes and ears
attune to one heart's precious beat.

I have been hungry, it appears,
too much let slip where lip might meet
stained lip which, vain, in other spheres,
mistook itself for heart replete.

I have been hungry, - atmospheres
apart from others. Games repeat
the search to feel through vain veneers,
protecting self at cost of self-deceit.

I have been hungry, love's arrears
now heartbeat love pursue - retreat
impossible. Although change nears
the piper pays for past conceit.

I have been hungry, - hope now nears
puts trust in touch with touch whose heat
dissolves restraints when heart heart hears.
Twinned echo intimate may greet
an understanding which endears
self to self through paraclete
who hunger heals as fade false fears,
who braids heart, head, to spirit's seat...

I have been hungry, - change of gears -
intimacy, warmth, defeat
sends packing! Lacking naught, WE greet
long looked for happiness complete.

Have Desire To Have

Have money,
Plenty of money,
or little money,
Have appetite,
Have no time,
we are hungry,
and then become angry.

Have appetite,
Burning appetite,
Churning appetite,
dizzy appetite.

Have appetite,
Have plenty of time, but
Have no money.
People are hungry,
and they are hungry as always.

Angry are hungry,
anger for better things,
Better fast food,
better service,
better facilities

Hungry people are angry,
anger for basic food,
Just to fill the pit,
that churns day and night,
not knowing,
What is available to a man.

Hunger is the turning point,
when insufficiency is pointed.
Hunger is an insult,
when inefficiency is noted.

Let us have the desire,
to have a better world,
where no human,
go and sleep with hungry.

Hungry Daze

In a dark and sweaty room in 69 tables turning
Dancing girls, silly girls, all kinds of girls and it was loud
Tuning up to madness in the back room candles burning
Present the stinking hippy and throw the naked thunder to the crowd
In the hungry daze
The long and lonely highway drags along its going nowhere
Sickness and disease and mad corruption somethings going wrong
The mountains getting cold and lonely the trees are bare
We all came out to montreux but thats another song
Youve heard it all before
In hungry daze
Along the mountain road to do some drinking
And now were mobile again
Different girls, laughing girls, forever girls and its so loud
The crew have lost again they are beaten men
The winning team united living for the crowd
These are the hungry daze

Miracle Child (single B-side)

She got me to walk on water
I did what she said
She got me to steal the moonlight
Put it over her head
And after I moved the mountain
Which stood in the way
The answer was in the question
She asked me if I wanted to stay
All of my friends said it couldn't last
I'd be another there in her past
But I disagree 'cause
I can't say say no, no, no, no
Save me, she's so hungry
Make a man do anything
I know, she gets hungry
Gets away like an innocent child
Save me, she's so hungry
Has the appetite to everything
I know, she's just hungry
She's got the mind of a miracle child
And when I changed the seasons
And water to wine
I took all the wordly problems
And got the peace in our time
And after I built the temple
She wanted so bad
I took her to altar on Sunday
To look at everything that we had
I could say no, but I always do
Someone outside
Would be comin' through
And I can't stop her
I can't say no, no, no, no
She's so hungry
She gets hungry ...

Hungry For Love

(coverdale)
I keep hangin on the promise of love
Your eyes tell me that Im gonna see
I feel the hunger like a starving man
Honey, when you stand close to me
I start to shiver, I start to shake,
Chills up an down my spine,
Im in the mood for action
In need of satisfaction,
Babe, Im gonna make you mine
Now I believe in you,
An everything that you do
cos Im hungry for love,
Im hungry for love, Im hungry for love,
I cant get enough, I cant get enough, I cant get enough
Ive got the weakness of an ordinary man
I need the comfort of womanly mind,
But, I get nervous when I think about
So many women an so little time
But, I believe in you,
An everything you do
cos Im hungry for love,
Im hungry for love, Im hungry for love,
I cant get enough, I cant get enough, I cant get enough
I start to shiver, I start to shake,
Chills up an down my spine,
I get so nervous when I think about
So many women an not enough time
But, I believe in you,
An everything that you do
cos Im hungry for love,
Im hungry for love, Im hungry for love,
I cant get enough, I cant get enough, I cant get enough
Im hungry for love, Im hungry for love, Im hungry for love,
I cant get enough, I cant get enough, I cant get enough,
I cant get enough, I cant get enough, I cant get enough
Im hungry for love...

Hunger Strike

Temple Of The Dog) (New Castle, United Kingdom, 2/22/92)
I don't mind...
>From the mouth of decadence...
But I can't feed on the powerless when my cup's already overfilled...
But it's on the table, the fire's cookin'...
And the starvin' babies, and the slaves are out workin'...
But it's on the table, the mouths are chokin'...
But I'm goin' hungry...I'm goin' hungry...

Tears That Jesus Shed # 2

roaches run across the floors,
bars on windows, locked doors,
walls trembling with hungry fear.

tv's in a bare room,
gotta come down soon,
or go find the cure.

baby's crying hungry,
you aint got the money,
there's bruises on your face.

steal a car, rob a store,
got nothing left to live for,
disappear without a trace.

stamp the numbers on your head.
you're just one of the living dead.
one of the tears that Jesus shed....
one of the tears that Jesus shed!

Nowhere To Hide

You might not understand the way I write because I write for me
This is my selfish exploit, my medicine, for the acid-
This is how I choose to drown my sorrows, I hid them, quid
In a sea of deeper sorrow, that goes deeper still... can't you see
Sorrow for sorrow, can't you see, this my strategy
To chasten the pain with an ever greater pain
To drive out the darkness by further causing all light to wain
To float in a sea of all I truly am
For surely this, this really is me, All I am, All I can
Muster is my fake face, but the monster
Dripping in darkness and blood, he lurks just under that mask
I know him, he is not gone, and he is hungry
Hungry, hungry, hungry, always inside
Hungry, hungry, hungry, left with nowhere to hide
Hungry, hungry, hungry, waiting to devour
This very hour I realize I've always been running
But I get nowhere, because I am already nowhere
And nowhere is certainly no place to hide.

I'm Not Going Hungry

I'm not going hungry anymore
Your sweet love's what I've been hungry for
But since we locked our hearts together now my table set forever
I'm not going hungry anymore.
Happiness is where you are and that's all I need to know
I'm gonna plant a tree of love and just sit back and watch it grow
I'm giving loving everything I've got I'm striking while the iron is hot
I'm not going hungry anymore.
I'm giving loving everything I've got I'm striking while the iron is hot
I'm not going hungry anymore
I'm not going hungry anymore.

Prosperous Country Is Our Ambition

Hope of new India is our ambition
We had dreamed it as inhibitions
Hoped to remain as golden sparrow
For better future and tomorrow

We have planned in haphazard ways
No one has right direction and emphatic says
All come with different opinion
Cast, color, language divide the regions

We want to assess what is happen on moon?
Where as we have no means to provide shed in noon
Millions sleep hungry and without roof
What else you need as proof?

Neither the sun has changed
Not the moon has escaped
They have remained our life and aspirations
There is not much needed for revelations

The nature has shown wrath several times
We have yet to pick its lessons sometimes
Desert witnesses snow fall and floods in plain
Havoc all over with plenty and excessive rain

What have we with us to feel so proud?
We can raise our voice and protest so loud
We have left no corner to be touched
Water has disappeared and alarming level reached

Let poor, with hungry, belly rise in rebellion
Send all power hungry and corrupt people to pavilion
The blood spilled on surface may speak different
It will be bloodiest and horrendous movement

I wish it not to come so soon
They have nothing to eat in noon
For two loves of bread there is murder
To how many you may ask to surrender?

The situation is alarming
National interest is at stake and harming
Nobody wants to adopt farming
Everybody is after glittering world which is so charming

Hungry Eyes

Hungry eyes
Ive been meaning to tell you
Ive got this feelin that wont subside
I look at you and I fantasize
You are mine tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and i
I want to hold you so hear me out
I want to show you what loves all about
Darlin tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you
And Ive got hungry eyes
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
Now did I take you by surprise
I need you to see
This love was meant to be
Ive got hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes

Now Ive got you in my sights

Did I take you by surprise

The Hungry Ghost Festival

human are hungry animals
born with hungry heart
crying out loud
for warmth and tenderness

human are lonely creatures
living with hungry mind
tired
about loneliness and boredom

human are hungry ghosts
starving because
fear and uncertainty

they eat food
they read books
they shop goods
they change looks
they search money
they shape brain
they talk freedom
they hold religion
they hear music
they rule power
they play heart
they fight till limits
they use everything in this world
to fulfill the need
to escape from sorrow and sadness

human are hungry souls
hungry to love and to be loved
the first hunger never gone

Hungry Moon (Ghazal)

It slowly creeps across the sky prowling for escapades, that hungry moon.
Darling, come with me, flirt with the night, I’ll protect you from that hungry moon.

We’ll dance the habanera and let it have its way with us all the night.
Then we’ll slip into the darkness under the shadow of that hungry moon.

With the conversation of the dance we’ll outshout cries from that hungry moon.
Together we’ll evade the ever-watching eyes of evry hungry moon.

We’ll outrun the loneliness that has stalked us throughout the slow-turning day.
A long day awaited, gobbled up during the night by a hungry moon.

We’ll look into the dream-lit stars until we’re dizzy, remember this night.
We’ll head for the shadows where it is darkest, away from the hungry moon.

With the swooping and snatching of an owl as it seizes its frozen prey,
I will not leave you in the shadows of the night or prey to that hungry moon.

Like a yelping dog, with the name of Ben, we’ll be racing across the ridge.
Encircled in my arms I’ll protect you then from that ever-hungry moon.

Fogging Up The Windows

the sound of a small child crying
hungry in the night
of a young woman sleepless
waiting for daylight
the sound of church bells ringing
not too far away
the sound of an old man dying
remembering how to pray

the sound of two hearts breaking
a thousand miles apart
of the last tear a fallin'
unseen in the dark
the sound of lifetimes wasted
of a love that didnt last
the sound of memories forgotten
of a time already past

can you hear?
can you hear?
a lone tree a fallin'
a hoot owl callin'

life and death, a lover's breath
fogging up the windows
of an empty room...
fogging up the windows
of an empty room...

the sound of the nails driven
into His screaming hands
the sound of salvation
entrusted to a man
the sound of bodies falling
of buildings swept by flame
the sound of different voices
whose souls are the same

can you hear?
can you hear?
a lone tree a fallin'
a hoot owl callin'

life and death, a lover's breath
fogging up the windows
of an empty room...
fogging up the windows
of an empty room....

Hungry Like The Wolf

in touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd
and I'm hungry like the wolf
straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
mouth is alive with juices like wine
and I'm hungry like the wolf
stalked in the forest too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
high blood drumming on your skin it's so tight
you feel my heart I'm just a moment behind
do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
in touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
scent and a sound I'm lost and I'm found
and I'm hungry like the wolf
strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine I'm after you
mouth is alive all running inside
and I'm hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
buring the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
I smell like I sound I'm lost and I'm found

The Spell From Over Yonder

When the raven's colour's white
And a cross turns upside down
Dead end don't walk keep out
Anchor's turning the inside out
After all this ship of life
Couldn't find a resting-place
And a spell from over yonder
Took the wind out of the sails
Remember all those hungry years
The elder left behind
Just look at all those hungry years
They come to be in the next century
Underneath the surface is
A wound that never heals
And the salt of all oceans is
The essence of your tears
I wish there could be a future
Without a past
I wish there could be green roses
In Alice's Wonderland
Remember all those hungry years
The elders left behind
Just look at all those hungry years
They come to be in the next century
It's business the mighty claim
For selfish power

Hunger (John 6: 1-15)

I'm nobody
I'm just a child without family
I'm nobody
And I'm hungry

So I search for the crowd
To beg for mercy
May they have some food
Other than words of enemy

I'm hungry
And there's a crowd in front of me
They are walking into the same direction
To the mountain, near Tiberias I see

They are following for one man
He sits down and begins to tell a story
Story that I never heard in my life
Where the world is felt more joyful and merry

He doesn't shout or speak loud
But the wind carries His calm voice to every
As speaking to His children in their night bed
His face looks so bright and free

From a far distance
I continue to listen to His story
And slowly
I'm not anymore so hungry

His story starts to fill my heart with warmth
His presence covers my body with safety
And for the first time of my life
I feel more love and energy

And then suddenly
He raises His head and looking around of many
He talks to His friends about something
I hope it'll be soon or I will remember that I'm hungry

He comes again to the top
And blessing the bread and fish He carries
I'm not moved when the food is shared
I know it won't enough for any

I'm nobody
And no one will notice my small body
I keep watching from distance
Even though I'm very hungry

But then somebody comes closer
And drags me into the small circle
I don't know them and they to me
But strangely I don't feel lonely

I don't know when I'll eat again
I don't remember the last time I ate properly
But it doesn't matter anymore
At least now I won't be hungry

The food is keep coming from everywhere
They continually offer it to me
And for the first time of my life
Somebody really smiles to me

That moment I start to realize something
Many cheer and laugh heard in the party
How everybody eats and talks together
They are like in one big of family

Some people said it is miracle
Some other said God is there
I'm not truly understand
But I'm glad that I am here to see

Not because the food I get
But for the strength to live
Not because the vision I find
But for hope I allowed to have

And when the crowd starts to disappear
I still standing there like in trance
Maybe I won't see Him again
But I will keep this faith with me

I'm nobody
I'm just a child without family
I'm nobody
But now I won't be anymore hungry

The Blessing

THE MASTER He was hungry:
‘Shall we not dine,’ said He,
‘On the good fruit amongst the leaves
Of this delightful tree?’
But oh! the fig-tree bore no fruit.
‘Wither,’ He bade it, ‘to the root,
For thus deceiving me.’

The Master He was hungry.
He plucked the grains so red
Of wheat that grew beside the way,
And He was bravely fed.
‘For this,’ He said, ‘I guerdon thee,
Through all the years, a type to be
Of Christ, the Living Bread.’

The Master He was thirsty.
He raised His hand on high,
And crushed the good red grapes that grew
The nearest to the sky.
‘And as thou gavest me drink of thine,
So must I pour my blood, O Vine,
When I for man shall die.’

The Master He was passing
From men He held so dear.
The feast with bread and wine was made;
The Friday Cross was near.
‘Droop not!’ He spoke, and blessed their food:
‘The broken Body and the Blood
Sustain you year by year.’
And corn and wine thenceforth have stood
His symbols everywhere.
