Magic Carpet Ride
Take me for a magic carpet ride.
Let that magic carpet glide
slowly so I can see
all the places where misery
lives every day.
Let it glide over Iraq
so I can see why our boys can't come back
to their babies and wives
and try best they can to get on with their lives.
Let it glide over the Gaza strip
where two nations are joined at the hip
and don't even know it.
I can see the misery from where I sit.
Let it glide over the oil fields
where they pump the lifeblood that the earth yields.
Black gold all for a price
in a bloody war of sacrifice.
Let it glide over the African land
to help me try and understand
why all of its beauty and natural resource
is raped and pillaged with no remorse.
Let it glide over China's great wall
separating its people from the rest of us all,
where liberties are abused on every day,
where no one's allowed to have a say.
Let me glide over the Vatican
where so much praise is given one man.
Gold is there wherever I gaze.
Poverty forgotten, but not the praise.
Let me glide over the streets of our cities
where the smog is thick and makes you wheeze.
The homeless and beggars begging for change
in a land of freedom. I find that strange.
Take me back to my own little home
from wherever my carpet ride did roam.
I've seen too much misery for one long day.
It's time for me to lie down and pray.

Whispers Of The North
Whispers of the north
Soon I will go forth
To that wild and barren land
Where nature takes its course
Whispers of the wind
Soon I will be there again
Bound with a wild and restless drive
That pulls me from within
And we can ride away
We can glide all day
And we can fly away
Whispers of the north
Soon I will return again
To those endless afternoons
In sunshine and in rain
Whispers of my love
Days and weeks on end
I will share my thoughts of her
In prayers that I will send
And we can ride away
We can glide all day
And we can fly away
Whispers of the north
The river and the shore
In the land that tested eskimos
Ten thousand years before
Whispers of my heart
In the tracks of animals
I will leave my footprints there
To lie beneath the snow
And we can ride away
We can glide all day
And we can fly away
Whispers of the wind
I will feel it sting
I will see it rise and fall
I will hear it sing
The sound is like a song to me
It takes away the pain
The river is the melody
And sky is the refrain
And we can ride away
We can glide all day
And we can fly away
And we can ride away
We can glide all day
And we can fly away
Whispers of the north
Soon I will go forth
Whispers of the north
Soon I will go forth

Son and Sun
The sun, oh how it does shine brightly.
The Son, how bravely he stands alone.
The Son, oh how he touch life lightly.
The sun, how it does bring us home.
Glide home sun, glide home.
Ride home Son, ride home.

Those Sneaky Backbiters That Glide In Sleaze
Those sneaky backbiters that glide in sleaze,
Adore the stench of it.
With campaigns to attract more,
To this mental disease.
Influenced by self hate.
With a debasement created and loved.
Those sneaky backbiters that glide in sleaze,
Are seen digging their own ditches quick...
To satisfy those embraces faced,
With others in filth and sludge to hug.
Those sneaky backbiters that glide in sleaze,
Entrenched in tracks with that to leave.
And quite excited in self righteous ways...
When investments tossed away from unsaved youth,
Delights them with an ignorance...
That keeps them all enslaved!

In Fear
You ride.
I don't.
I walk.
You glide.
I feel.
You observe.
I see.
You wish.
I touch.
You read.
I am there.
You are not.
I walk.
You ride.
I cry.
You wonder.
Why?
I walk.
Why?
I talk.
Why?
I know them,
And myself.
Denied.
We all sit down and cry...
For you.
And the view of you ahead,
That comes!
You ride.
I don't.
I walk.
You glide.
I feel.
You observe.
I see.
You wish.
I touch.
You read.
I am there.
You are not.
I walk.
You run.
Stunned in fear.

Remembrance of Collins
Composed upon the Thames near Richmond
Glide gently, thus for ever glide,
O Thames! that other bards may see
As lovely visions by thy side
As now, fair river! come to me.
O glide, fair stream! for ever so,
Thy quiet soul on all bestowing,
Till all our minds for ever flow
As thy deep waters now are flowing.
Vain thought!--Yet be as now thou art,
That in thy waters may be seen
The image of a poet's heart,
How bright, how solemn, how serene!
Such as did once the Poet bless,
Who murmuring here a later ditty,
Could find no refuge from distress
But in the milder grief of pity.
Now let us, as we float along,
For 'him' suspend the dashing oar;
And pray that never child of song
May know that Poet's sorrows more.
How calm! how still! the only sound,
The dripping of the oar suspended!
--The evening darkness gathers round
By virtue's holiest Powers attended.

Other Side Of The Hill
Watch out when they start to twist
Hold tight with a leather fist
Thats what my daddy told me
How to ride the bulls.
Theres a jingle in my jeans,
Short places inbetween;
Im leaving tennesee with a push and pull.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.
Turn up that radio & dont think about rodeo,
Dont think about roundup up in old cheyenne.
Its a crazy circuit, but you still work it.
Wont you turn the sound up and lets check the scan.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.
Bandanna on the rearview mirror
Still wet from ear to ear;
Once again its provin what the wise men say -
When you ride the last one, you better make it a fast one
Jump while hes movin, just walk away.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.

Queen - Going Back
====================
Words and music by Gerry Goffin and Carole King
I think I'm going back
To the things I learnt so well in my youth
I think I'm returning to
Those days when I was young enough to know the truth
Now there are no games
To only pass the time
No more colouring books
No Christmas bells to chime
But thinking young and growing older is no sin
And I can't play the game of life to win
I can recall a time
When I wasn't ashamed to reach out to a friend
And now I think I've got
A lot more than just my toys to lend
Now there's more to do
Than watch my sailboat glide
And every day can be
My magic carpet ride
And I can play hide and seek with my fears
And live my days instead of counting my years
Then everyone debates
The true reality
I'd rather see the world
The way it used to be
A little bit of freedom's all we lack
So catch me if you can
I'm going back

RainCoveredSKY
The sky is Western Covered sky dark for half the canopy is covered up the smell of rain filters down some conflicting with the surroundings the landscaping the hey fever springing here nearby. The birds were swimming in the sky the western sky with wings folded they glide then extend the wings again then fold them back confused by the wind in western sky. They glide then fly then glide. The poet however must walk than lamely then halting lame he walks under the western sky rain never falls but clouds roll out of the valley walls but back they come as poet walks. He walks and as he limps along he notices them the gliding flying birds are gone.

The Word
I have an easy beauty one that is happy.
I glide on the surface of winds.
I glide on the surface of seas
I have grown sentimental
I no longer know the guide
I no longer move silk over ice
I am diseased flowers and stones
I love the most chinese of nudes
I love the most naked lapses of wings
I am old but here I am beautiful
And the shadow that flows from the deep windows
Each evening spares the dark heart of my stare.

Life Is Not a Ride That Glides
Ceasing feasting that increased,
A decreasing of most things...
Meant to many giving up false bling!
And showy shining flashing flings.
Lucky people who've striked out,
From a crowning top that slipped to drop...
Have come to a screeching stop.
With designer boots now knocking rocks.
But life is not a ride that glides.
And those that recognize this,
Have not gone into tantrums.
Or thrown fits.
Life is not a ride that slides into a glide.
Some rumps fall onto bumps that stump.
With a struggle not for chumps,
That disguises getting over humps.
Lucky people who've striked out,
From a crowning top that slipped to drop...
Have come to a screeching stop.
With designer boots now knocking rocks.
Ceasing feasting that increased,
A decreasing of most things...
Meant to many giving up false bling!
And showy shining flashing flings.
But life is not a ride that glides.
And those that recognize this,
Have not gone into tantrums.
Or thrown fits.
No life is not a ride that slides into a glide.
Some rumps fall onto bumps that stump.
With a struggle not for chumps,
That disguises getting over humps.
Life is not a ride that slides into a glide.
Some rumps hit a bump that stumps...
And many get up and out of those dumps!
Life is not a ride that slides into a glide.
Some rumps hit a bump that stumps...
And many get up and out of those dumps!
Life is not a ride that slides into a glide.
Some rumps hit a bump that stumps...
And many get up and out of those dumps!
Life is not a ride that glides from side to side.
Some rumps hit a bump that stumps...
And many get up and out of those dumps!

Can You Keep A Secret?
I glide my pen
to outwit myself
been stagnant for so long
doesnt help
I lost my sense
and humor to wit
I lost the sweet the whiteness of my teeth
brightness and bread
has been asleep
misunderstood as always been
sweet existence of my cunning desires
cant express in a bottles of beer
I love to glide
to channel my love
my secret desire to read and write

KITTEN Glide Ride Guide
KITTEN GLIDE RIDE GUIDE
Knots tied tried tummies up in floats
In glide ride scene imprinted here
Tale told shows tailed cat soars from boat
Then surely lands sore: shorewards steer
Enchanted nine lives men find queer,
Nose runs, purr shuns wave shaken coat.
Know wind was high and this was why
In seconds we were hanging on
To life while wavy strife would try
To wave goodbye to sun that shone
Enticing three kids and cat one
Now in deep water, there to cry.
Kids three sat pat. One cat from mat
In leap spectacular advanced,
Though former belted, latter 'rat! '
Thrust forwards, cried, but by luck chanced
Ending right back from whence it danced,
None ever knew how it did that!
Kites flying, earthwards fall, 'tis true,
In levity, to earth return,
Then gravity, when waves skies blue
Tumble down, meeting, topsy-turn.
Experience guide's moral, learn:
No-one should beltless sail renew!

A Petition To Time
TOUCH us gently, Time!
Let us glide adown thy stream
Gently,—as we sometimes glide
Through a quiet dream.
Humble voyagers are We,
Husband, wife, and children three—
(One is lost,—an angel, fled
To the azure overhead.)
Touch us gently, Time!
We ’ve not proud nor soaring wings:
Our ambition, our content,
Lies in simple things.
Humble voyagers are We,
O’er Life’s dim, unsounded sea,
Seeking only some calm clime;—
Touch us gently, gentle Time!

Rewrites
there are works that wont be finished
after a thousand rewrites
the mind holds a larger sky
the years glide like the leaves
in the flame of autumn
and you hold the thought that
the pastiche of thoughts can look
a better season with time
like how wine matures
There are works that wont be finished
after a thousand rewrites
and after years that glide away
like leaves blasting the red of autumn
you hold the thought that the pastiche
of your thoughts can look
better than it should
There are works that won't be finished
after a thousand rewrites
the years glide away
like red leaves blasting autumn
your mind turns and turns and
you still find a larger sky coming your way
to improve the flow of your verses

Their tummies wetter:

The bus is better

Luna
White light cut a scar in the sky
Thin line of silver
The nigh t was all clouded with dreams
Wind made me shiver
Black and yellow pools of light
Outside my window
Luna come to me tonight
I am a prisoner
Luna glide down from the moon
The clouds are all silver and black
Floating aro und me
Luna come into my eyes
Luna surround me
With black and yellow pools of light
Fall by my window
Luna come to me tonight
I am a prisoner
Luna glide down from the moon
The clouds are all silver and black
Floating around me
Luna come into my eyes
Luna surround me
With black and yellow pools of light
Fall by my window
Luna come to me tonight
I am a prisoner
Luna glide down from the moon
