Best Always

Best always,
West always,
Crest always,
Rest always,
Nest always,
Pest always,
Guest always,
Arrest always;
But, it is set apart for a special use.

Lest always,
Jest always,
Test always,
Chest always,
Quest always,
Vest always,
Zest always;
But, you are set apart for a purpose.

Litter, glitter, bitter, critter, hitter, fitter, quitter, sitter;
And like a name well pronouced by its bearer! !
But, try to build up your life according to the plans of a positive character.

Poetry Is The Way Of My Life

The carpenter's son!
Carpenter, pen, net, cap, peer, near, cent, care;
The sailor's wives!
Wives, beehives, dives, lives, drives, fives, gives;
The natural thing!
Thing, sing, ring, wing, swing, bring, string, wring;
But, poetry is the way of my life.

I am along the road of life with my mind,
And, in the African dress!
Dress, press, distress, stress, cress, impress;
In the barber's shop!
Shop, hop, drop, mop, lop, slop, top, crop, stop;
In the African forest!
Forest, rest, test, best, nest, guest, pest, quest;
But, poetry is the way of my life.

Breast, abreast!
Rest, arrest!
Test, attest!
Far, afar!
Tend, attend!
Stir, stair!
Feather, further!
And like the tale of Africa with the tail of a monkey;
But, this muse of life will teach many yet unborn.

Pigalle III - 0071 - Current Version

Life deplore,
futile stripper,
friendless whore,
vile bedsitter.

Scarlet lamp,
tarnished glitter,
dreary, damp,
sterile litter.

Sordid, sore,
sexless sister,
mindless, more,
senseless quitter.

Tawdry tramp,
fading flitter,
foetid framp,
nothing fitter?

Vapid vamp's
whisky sipper
rubber stamps
Jack the Ripper.

What's in store?
Cindy's slipper
or, hurt once more,
pimp's wild whipper?

Beaten raw,
barren, bitter,
ruined core,
Paris streeter.

Advice

AD ARIUSTUM FUSCUM

I

Horace: Book I, Ode 22.

'_Integer vitae sclerisque purus_'-

_Take it from me: A guy who's square,
His chances always are the best.
I'm in the know, for I've been there,
And that's no ancient Roman jest._

What time he hits the hay to rest
There's nothing on his mind but hair,
No javelin upon his chest-
_Take it from me, a guy who's square._

There's nothing that can throw a scare
Into the contents of his vest;
His name is Eva I-Don't-Care;
_His chances always are the best._

Why, once, when I was way out West,
Singing to Lalage, a bear
Came up, and I was some distressed-
_I'm in the know, for I've been there._

But back he went into his lair,
(Cage, corner, den, retreat, nook, nest) ,
And left me to 'The Maiden's Prayer'-
_And that's no ancient Roman jest._

In Newtonville or Cedar Crest,
In Cincinnati or Eau Claire,
I'll warble till I am a pest,
'My Lalage'-no matter where-
_Take it from me! _

II

Fuscus, my friend, take it from me-
I know the world and what it's made of-
One on the square has naught to be
Afraid of.

The Moorish bows and javelins? Nope.
Such deadly things need not alarm him.
Why, even arrows dipped in dope
Can't harm him!

He's safe in any clime or land,
Desert or river, hill or valley;
Safe in all places on the Rand-
McNally.

Why, one day in my Sabine grot,
I sang for Lalage to hear me;
A wolf came in and he did not
Come near me!

Ah, set me on the sunless plain,
In China, Norway, or Matanzas,
Ay, place me anywhere from Maine
To Kansas.

Still of my Lalage I'll sing,
Where'er the Fates may chance to dropp me;
And nobody nor anything
Shall stop me.

Ballad of women i love

Prudence Mears hath an old blue plate
Hid away in an oaken chest,
And a Franklin platter of ancient date
Beareth Amandy Baker's crest;
What times soever I've been their guest,
Says I to myself in an undertone:
"Of womenfolk, it must be confessed,
These do I love, and these alone."

Well, again, in the Nutmeg State,
Dorothy Pratt is richly blest
With a relic of art and a land effete--
A pitcher of glass that's cut, not pressed.
And a Washington teapot is possessed
Down in Pelham by Marthy Stone--
Think ye now that I say in jest
"These do I love, and these alone?"

Were Hepsy Higgins inclined to mate,
Or Dorcas Eastman prone to invest
In Cupid's bonds, they could find their fate
In the bootless bard of Crockery Quest.
For they've heaps of trumpery--so have the rest
Of those spinsters whose ware I'd like to own;
You can see why I say with such certain zest,
"These do I love, and these alone."

Nest

Far and wide I may travel,
Explore places, experience people,
But when I need a place to rest,
I head back to my nest.

Now I am at the edge with wings spread,
ready to fly to a new high
But in my heart I know
No matter how many caps I wear
My nest will always be here.

Here are people I hold dear
who I wish to be near
Here I learnt and fought to make a career.
Here I grew strong with nothing to fear.
Here I learnt to fight and when necessary bear.
Here emotions are felt beyond words one can hear.
Here a smile's always ready to greet each silent tear.
This is where my soul resides.
I refuse to become a guest,
When I come back to my nest.

A new life and beginning, a loved one all await
luring me to the west,
Yet my feet stumble as I try leaving my nest.

The future calls, full of promises
of offering me the best
But I feel, I already have it all
right here in my nest.

Why to risk leaving
what if I fail the test?
A bird in hand is worth two in the bush
I cling to the comfort of the nest.

There's a new feeling though
of a need to build
something of my own
So that to someone someday
I too may say
If you need a place for love and care
a shelter from the world's stare
where dreams you may share
and lay your heart bare
To you I can offer
with pride in my chest
Come in, take shelter,
For this is your nest.

Edonia

Rest, pest, west, best, lest, nest, fest, quest, vest;
But, there is a job in my house for everyone!
So, get yourselves prepared.

The reward,
The authority,
He worked,
She worked;
But keep it clean and keep it lovely,
For, there are enough jobs in my house for everyone.

Teach, reach, preach, breach, leach, each;
A teacher,
A preacher! !
And to establish them before you;
For, the fruits of love are around you and,
You are closer to my house.

As a servant,
Humble yourselves;
Law, saw, draw, raw, braw, craw, Yaw, paw, flaw, jaw, slaw, maw, taw!
But, i am Edonia with the muse of my beautiful house;
And, as it is written on my walls,
There are enough joby in my house for everyone.

Life's A Sonnet

life is a trumpet
every being responds to
a banquet
singing and joy corresponds to
a pamphlet
reading comprehends to
some bank it
some complements to

awaken is the wise
lost is the nice
fed with a jolly of rice
menu with a spice
bitter taste twice
as nice
some telling lies
and surely pay the price
but to reap a slice
you ought to sweat thrice
and ding dong like a dice
but sometimes not, and your infant cries
at times you make it, and she (joyously) smiles
for life’s a sonnet, going many miles

believe you me, life’s a sonnet
that connects the next sonnet
with the stanza of the next other sonnet
a reflection of the next text

life’s a deviant not in isolation from the rest
it is within, to attest
a guarantee to be the best
or the worst
of the wild west
‘til you laid to rest
a life on your chest
a beverage to quench your pleasure and zest
an acid to fest
on you to cleanse your pest

life’s a neutron, not a proton
a nucleus of the phantom
an octopus of ransom
a means to come from
a beast to share from
indeed, life and sonnet dot com!

What A Friend

Lady of the G..spot...
You are just a dot...
I've always wish that you...
Sh- or get off the pot...
In you I do not plot...

To me you are...
A save-a-lot...
You are truly my friend...
And that I want to never...
End...

But every now and then...
I ask if I came come in...
But I keep in mind that we..are...

Truly freinds...Platonic at best...
So my asking...is always in jest...
And maybe that is best...jset...

And anything other...I would be a pest...
That would be a mess...
But you rest...
We both have pass..the test...
I would love to fail...in jest...

We shall remain platonic...
Now that takes balls...
But that is my call...
We are friends after all...
And I am the freind in need...in deed...
Keep one eye open...
And the other eye on...
Jest...

Be At Ease As Poet

BE AT EASE AS POET

Be at Ease As Poet
Behind the poet's weighting game
Encouraging free mind to test
All limits passed, Life flits, just jest
To spendthrift share, its end the same
End meets whatever tears or zest
Are shed within our brief time-frame.
Sustained creation's doubly blessed,
Expresses much, yet mocks vain fain
As fit for those who'd talents tame
Surrendering free choice, impressed
Perchance by base externals pressed
Out over reputation lame.
Ease grows through harmony, on cue
Transforms to guest strange reader's view...

Pecos Bill

Now Pecos Bill was quite a cowboy down in Texas
Why, he's the Western Superman to say the least
He was the roughest, toughest critter, never known to be a quitter
'Cause he never had no fear of man nor beast
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
Once he roped a raging cyclone out of nowhere
Then he straddled it and settled down with ease
And while that cyclone bucked and flitted, Pecos rolled a smoke and lit it
And he tamed that ornery wind down to a breeze
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
Now once there was a drought that spread all over Texas
So to sunny Californy he did go
And though the gag is kind of corny, he brought rain from Californy
And that's the way we got the Gulf of Mexico
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
Now once a band of rustlers stole a herd of cattle
But they didn't know the herd they stole was Bill's
And when he caught them crooked villains
Pecos knocked out all their fillings
That's the reason why there's gold them thar hills
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
Pecos lost his way while traveling on the desert (Water, water, water...)
It was ninety miles across the burning sand (Water, water, water...)
He knew he'd never reach the border (Water...)
If he didn't get some water (Water...)
So he got a stick and dug the Rio Grande
(Yodeling)
While a tribe of painted Indians did a wardance
Pecos started shooting up their little game
He gave those redskins such a shakeup
That they jumped out of their makeup
That's how the Painted Desert got it's name
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
While reclining on a cloud high over Texas
With his guns he made the stars evaporate
Then Pecos saw them stars declining
So he left one brightly shining
As the emblem of the Lone Star Texas State
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the toughest critter west of the Alamo
So yippee-i-ay-i-ya, yippee-i-o
He's the emblem of the Lone Star Texas State

Behold the weary West!

Man's toil and children's play,
Come hither, child, and rest.

And homeward lies our way,
Behold the weary West!

Ballades V - Of His Choice of a Sepulchre

HERE I ’d come when weariest!
Here the breast
Of the Windberg’s tufted over
Deep with bracken; here his crest
Takes the west,
Where the wide-winged hawk doth hover.

Silent here are lark and plover;
In the cover
Deep below, the cushat best
Loves his mate, and croons above
O’er their nest,
Where the wide-winged hawk doth hover.

Bring me here, Life’s tired-out guest,
To the blest
Bed that waits the weary rover,—
Here should failure be confest;
Ends my quest,
Where the wide-winged hawk doth hover!

ENVOY

Friend, or stranger kind, or lover,
Ah, fulfil a last behest,
Let me rest
Where the wide-winged hawk doth hover!

The Happy Bird’s Nest

When on my cottage falls the placid shower,
When ev'ning calls the labourer home to rest,
When glad the bee deserts the humid flower,
O then the bird assumes her peaceful nest.

When sable shadows grow unshapely tall,
And Sol's resplendent wheel descends the west,
The knell of respiration tolls for all,
And Hesper smiles upon the linnet's nest.

When o'er the mountain bounds the fair gazell,
The night bird tells her day-departing jest,
She gladly leaves her melancholy dell,
And spreads her pinions o'er the linnet's nest.

Then harmless Dian spreads her lucid sail,
And glides through ether with her silver crest,
Bidding the watchful bird still pour her tale,
And cheer the happy linnet on her nest.

Thus may some guardian angel bear her light,
And o'er thy tomb, departed genius, rest,
Whilst thou shalt take thy long eternal flight,
And leave some faithful bird to guard thy nest.

Oh the neons are a gleamin and the gamblers are a dreamin
Oh its night life, yeh! night life
The chips are a spillin and its time to make a killin
Oh its night life, yeh! night life
Oh the pockets are a-burnin and the money flies
With dice roll a-turnin and youll hit snakes eyes
You cant be a quitter when youre caught up in the glitter of
Night life night life
Therere long legged women who will take you for a trimmin yes its night life
Oh night life.
Their lips taste like honey but theyre out to spend your money
Yes its night life. oh yeh!
Just roll that seven and youll hear them shriek
When seven come eleven its a lucky streak
You cant beat the drama, the excitement and the glamour
Of the night life, I said that night life
So place your bet, come on make your play
Though you may regret it at the break of day
I said you cant be a quitter when youre caught up in the glitter of

My right hand, clawed on arm rest starts to cramp
I dare not loose this tether lest I leap
My left hand shields my eyes, a trembling clamp
A millimetre gap affords a peep.

And so I watch as Ripley finds the nest
(This scene's the best, you're free to disagree)

...to rescue Newt, her suicidal quest
.....in whom the viewers have their hearts invest
.......she flambes eggs with amazonic zest
.........then plucks the girl before she is digest
...........finesses Queen in battle breast to breast
.............and leaves us high on cinematic crest!

But wait, we're told, it seems Newt WAS infest

Bulletproof

Hey, it's me. Got a kevlar vest ornating my chest,
Walking a battlefield, with scars only partly healed.
Bullets and rockets explode, as the dead's bones corrode.
But I got a kevlar vest ornating my chest.
Hey! Got nothing to fear right? I walk the alleys at night.
I'm a gun-toting machine, stop me if you can!
Bulletproof, gun in hand, tis this an invincible man?
But did I tell you where I've got most my scars?
They're under my kevlar vest ornating my chest.
Deep and hard, some still bleeding, jagged scars.
Many bullets have hit, but few through could they get.
So now you ask, from where are those scars you mask?
Most of my scars are on my back, the sad fact:
I'm bulletproof, but the knives still go through.
Got a kevlar vest ornating my chest, might be bulletproof, but the knives still go through.
Bulletproof...
