Sonnet: Unfairness

Unfairness lives in every heart and mind;
Unfairness thrives in every earthling’s home;
Unfairness comes from siblings too, I find;
Earthlings are like uneven teeth of comb.

Unfairness occurs ev’n amidst most beasts;
Unfairness is seen ’midst the leaves of trees
Unfairness stays whenev’r the devil feasts,
And with the Apocalypse, it will cease.

Unfairness stems from world that’s within me;
Have I been fair to God who made me man?
Unfairness fills the world ’round me truly,
But it was man who did its sparks much fan!

Unfairness came with our first parents’ sin;
God’s Judgment fair will ultimately win.

Unfairness

This world is grossly unfair;
The heart of man is unfair too;
All opportunities are unfair;
There are not many things fair, one can do.

But there’s just one most fair One who is God-
With love unfathomable and just a rod;
Yet, man unfairly blames the one God!
Does not man’s unfairness look rather odd?

Yes, disappointment over perceived unfairness, injustice, promises not kept, tends to go hand in hand with increasing prosperity. Expectations are dashed. What can I say!

We grew up as kids watching those movies and we were exposed to themes of civil rights, unfairness, bigotry and fathers struggling against the kind of mob of the town, so you remember how you felt as a kid being taken seriously, that you are part of the human drama.

B-fo

We are there,
To feel despair together.
An unfairness,
Of bad weather together.
But it wont last forever.
If we hold onto together...
As these storm winds blow!

We are there,
To see each other.
Know whatever comes...
Together we'll grow!
And the clouds that show will go!
Like they did sometime B-fo'!

'That ain't good English.'

You think I'm trying to impress,
With this mess?
I want to say 'something' that connects.
And this effort, obviously, AIN'T my best!

Just Again

To see what they say like the star that have died. The repetitive process of people that goes on intell you heap. Things that never seem to happened, by the time that has no meaning in the world we comperhend. See the one that brings the depressant out of the adolescent. For what see bring will be gone as long as I see. We held discrimination towards the values of ignorance we received. The mindlessness and unfairness they said to be done in the rationality we believe.

I don't think I could play a character that I couldn't relate to somehow. I'm not unfamiliar with frustration, anger, shame, helplessness and a load of other emotions that make up our psycho-soup. I try to focus on that frustration, that sense of unfairness, and multiply it.

Sonnet: How to Treat Others

The things you do to others must be fair,
Lists unfairness should boomerang you;
Your treatment must be one of loving care,
Lest God and Nature care not for you too.

If you are just to sub-ordinate staff,
You can expect a similar return;
If you do mix the grains with stones and chaff,
God will do you sometime the same in turn.

The kind of seed you sow, so shall you reap;
The land in which you sow, so shall it give;
A heart that’s dishonest must someday weep;
If cruel be, in cruelty you live.

Life’s logic is so easy to reason,
And it must be so in any season.

There is no face as fair

There is no face as fair
and dear to me
as yours
and no light shines as bright
and pure
as the look in your eyes.

If anything endures
it’s your heart that is true
and pure
and strike me with sincerity.

You alone satisfy the hunger
of my soul
and come as the drug
that brings sense and sensibility
when I want to brake free
from the things surrounding me.

Even if the world is sick
and malignant with horror,
pain, unfairness, cruelty
and hardship,
you still remain
the light in my life
and the one
that brings clarity
to the abyss around me
because you love unselfishly.

Sonnet: The Downtrodden Women

Just skeletal figures, white-saree clad!
Wind-carried, frail beings that hardly walk;
They hurry ’cause ’tis late with weather bad;
Their mouths are stiff: ’tis better they don’t talk!

If not for this job, they will surely starve!
Tho’ ill-paid still, they smile and laugh and cry;
Half-literate, a good niche, they can’t carve;
Into their personal lives, people do pry.

Such is the lot of poor women these days!
From lower middle-class who cannot fend;
The corrupt society won’t mend its ways;
But God will ultimately them defend.

How can the world allow such unfairness,
When God is truth and dispels all darkness?

Sonnet: The World Needs Justice

Tilt the balance I will, in ways I can:
Whenever justice is put in peril;
Till goodness succeeds over evil, man
Just like we triumph over the devil.

This world can’t take too much of unfairness;
Good things must happen much more than things bad;
Men cannot live always in much harness;
God, intervene Thou must, or we go mad!

How much of evil things can this world bear?
How long can righteous men be dishonored?
How long can people grievances not air?
Too much of gall hast Thou in our cup poured!

The world can’t go on in this way O Lord!
To live thus, common men cannot afford.

My Birthday!

It's your birthday oh my life congratulations
The re-publication of the pain in my heart ah not a recent innovation
Civilization of the ugliness worldwide's because of peep's pities limitation
My nearest ones ignorance of my existence ah speechless are my words as well as my heart's situation
The provence of unfairness's existence across the world and the probation's limited realization
Provocation of the fear and the lone that never got recognition
Oh 'selfishness' welcomed you'll be after now on in my life sending you an invitation.

Eye-Openers, cont.

I prefer to believe the latter, because I find
The more you believe, the easier it becomes
To believe, that is, and that, operationally,
Doing good for others is the best way to become loved-
Loved and missed and needed, if only in name
And we all want to become that, don't we?
Alas, becoming loved-even that most human of needs
Is apparently an appetite and a goal of contrivance;
In any event, maybe we should wax democratic
And submit the possibilities to a vote-
Which is liklier, which is more desireable-
The world abandonee or the world habituee?
Maybe a very rich woman
Should patronize a television station
That matters may be simplified for the viewers:
Even to the point of unfairness, push
Her own point of view. After all,
You can sell anything you like on TV.

The Unanswered Question

What happens to those
who are always tired?
and those of them
who are never inspired?
They fall through the cracks
of the kleptomaniacs
who've taken from them
since hell was born,
stolen from them
with unmitigated scorn.
These are the multitudes
born here to cope
with life's unfairness
and its disdain,
excepting their fate
that does remain
a mystery to them.
And so they wait
for the miracle of death
to set them free.
And give them an answer
so they can see
why life is not
what it was meant to be.

Sonnet: The Road For Righteousness Isn’t Easy

When just a child, I thought this world was good,
But never knew that wily were persons,
Who fought amongst for everything to food,
And sinned all life ’gainst God without reasons!

When now adult, I know the world bit well;
The honest ones still suffer for Truth’s sake!
Unfairness, lies have made the world like Hell;
But success to undeserving is fake!

As wise adult, my intuition helps me,
Avoiding vices and evil-doers;
I don’t care for my so called destiny!
I love to be amongst the truth-lovers!

All days cannot remain always breezy;
The road for Righteousness is not easy!

Sonnet: God Is One and Only Omnipotent One

All things take care of themselves in this world;
No worrying changes course of anything;
A few things occurring sound rather weird;
God will decide the fate of poor or king!

Even the freak of things is as per laws;
Man can't decipher many things on earth;
Through Nature, God controls all things as Boss!
God permits abortions and test-tube birth!

Why God allows unfairness to thrive then?
His thoughts are not like man's but much diff'rent;
Our ways are not like His and of heaven;
Man tries to be foolish, belligerent!

The Master of the universe is Lord
Of things, unseen and seen, and keeps His word!

Sonnet-The Wicked are Punished by God

The Wheel of Time, rotates surely but slow;
And punishes perpetrators of crimes;
The self-exalted ones must sooner bow,
Deserving ones can make their lives sublime.

The purifying process is so fast;
God-given punishments are rather smart;
And soon the wrong-doers are cellar-cast,
And tried for treason and their wicked part.

Time heals the wounds of hearts of those aggrieved;
And lasting joy smiles back sometime surely;
The pleas of downtrodden souls gets reprieved,
God's ways are never understood truly.

God hears the cries of unfairness on earth;
And renders justice in this world with mirth.

I will resist this injustice

Never will I like C.L. Leipoldt say:
“My country is not mine anymore;
my nation is dead from the struggle,
my courage is not heroic anymore -
God, please forgive me! ”

and although my people
now stay right over the world
and my country has been taken away

the struggle continues forever
as long as prayers go up
to God in heaven

who is almighty in control
and even during times of impossibility
practises His will.

as long as a Afrikaner
stand on his right
to lead a life

I will get a ray of hope
from somewhere
and as long as I am alive
I will resist
this unfairness.

[This is my translation of C.L. Leipoldt’s Afrikaans verse.]

In The Valley Of My Mind

I carry black roses
Of what that has been
Rain drops wet my floor
To many cold night
Days of unfairness
I smell her fragrant
I awake to find this
In the valley of my mind

I hear the wedding bells
I see a wedding ring
Her kisses wet my lips
I see her smiling face
I hold her to find it's
In the valley of my mind

The rain drops has dried
I'm happy I can smile
Because I realize
I can get her back
Any time I want to
In the valley of my mind

Ramona Remembered

you finally cracked when the teacher said,
life is unfair
you cannot accept that fact that sticks in your skin
like a tattoo since birth perhaps even till death

the unfairness of it all was the shutting of your light
for Ramona
like the sun you could have shone like a very bright day
in the middle of this darkness

now, the teacher comes to class with nothing but a piece of chalk
and convinced he writes there on that blackboard

indeed, life is unfair. He packs his things and leave for the mountain
and since then

no one hears about him again.

i am staying in this university and will continue writing all about these.
