Sonnet: 'Ask and Ye shall Receive!

King Solomon asked God for great wisdom,
To rule his subjects justly all his life;
He blundered not but did mistakes seldom,
And thanked God for this gift amidst his strife!

God gives His special blessings to some souls,
But punishes them if promises aren’t kept;
God is ready to grant us many roles,
But won’t excuse if we had only slept!

O God, I will not ask of Thee for wealth:
For, I can’t take it back with me when dead;
O God, I ask for just my soul’s good health,
Wisdom, contentment and a balanced head!

God, give me faith unshakeable always,
To show the world your love and pleasant ways!

Sonnet: Ash Wednesday Pleas

God, turn the Wheel of Time to usher in
An era of new hope and joy, mind’s peace;
My heart afilled by sorrow, mortal sin
Is weary of its wages and disease!

God, bring the season of great happiness;
No longer can I bear my string of woes;
I need your mercy, love and forgiveness;
I hate the ways of men and how life goes.

God, give back my harmony in life;
Restore the contentment I had possessed;
I need your special help in meeting strife;
Oh, make me whole again: keep my soul bless’d!

The devils roam to destroy souls this Lent!
Oh, let me pray fervently and repent!

This is our Nest

This is our nest,
Our very own;
This is our home,
Sweet one, we built.

This is the tree,
In which we live:
A peaceful life,
Without much strife.

These are our young,
Two lovely birds-
Our only wealth:
Solace in life.

O God, we pray:
Help us each day,
In Your own way,
To have our say.

Give us our health;
Provide our wants;
Protect us Lord,
From ‘friendly foes’!

We must make it,
Our race on earth:
In good a style,
And quite worthwhile.

Nevertheless,
Let’s keep our souls
In grace, sinless,
By divine roles.

Money Ain’t God

Money is not God,
Albeit good health and great wealth
Will put a commoner in the position to afford
The most luxurious amenities on earth.

God is wealth;
Good health
Is the richest gift
That can be bestowed on a chief.

Money is like a gaud;
It is a fraud
To think that money is God.

A King or a Queen, without good health,
Is sinking at the bottom;
He or she is dead, indeed worthless.
A penniless pauper, with great health,
Is wealthier than one can fathom;
He or she is darn blessed.

God is wealth;
God is health;
Money ain’t God;
Money ain’t God.

Good health and great wealth
Are like divine gifts;
Adding a little wisdom and a good heart,
Such combo will put a cherub on a celestial lift,
Where life is wonderful and set apart.

God is wealth;
Good health
Is the richest gift
That can be bestowed on a chief.

Money is like a gaud,
It is a fraud
To think that money is God.

Sonnet: Some Keys to Success

Mere labor can’t give success in our life;
Our perseverance is more important;
Some luck and pluck may work out amidst strife;
God gives us wisdom when prayers we chant.

Man’s struggle is futile without God’s part;
Impeccable schedules and plans don’t work;
Man’s nurtured talents may further his art;
God’s blessings serve as final finish stroke!

Man by himself cannot do many things;
Great feats are done with God as Friend and Guide;
Money and power fail even for kings;
Our common-sense helps us life’s waves to ride!

Our earthly feats must help fellow creatures;
Mundane pastures evoke divine raptures!

Sonnet: Wisdom

I ask for Wisdom and no other wealth;
It is the ultimate that reaches God;
It gives my body, mind and soul- its health;
A divine gift given to chosen Clod.

And Wisdom helps me understand this world,
In sane a manner, despite the chaos;
She makes me prudent and my actions bold,
Yet, keep God’s tenets and she’s my boss.

And Wisdom gives me fore-knowledge of things,
Both good and bad, pre-destined, accident;
Along with problems, solutions she brings;
I can always fulfill God’s commandment.

Wisdom I seek, deny me not, O God!
To help me help the needy souls from Clod.

Words Of Wisdom

King Solomon was not a fool
When to the Lord he prayed,
For he knew well the Golden Rule
And this had been obeyed...
Yet now a kingdom he must guide,
Regardless, rich or poor,
As long as God stood side-by-side,
He could not want for more...

King Solomon was just a man,
He did not know all things
And yet he knew God had a plan,
God was the King of Kings...
So while God offered him a gift,
He served the kingdom best
If he could stem the tragic rift
With God and all the rest...

King Solomon desired most
God's wisdom here on Earth,
Yet not to brag and not to boast
Or seek to prove his worth...
He asked for wisdom, nothing else,
Not treasures or long life,
For these he knew were short term spells
While men on Earth survive...

King Solomon had pleased the Lord
Who gave these gifts to him
And all God's wisdom was outpoured
To fill him to the brim...
Consider wisdom and take heed
This poetry you see,
The Holy Bible's there to read...
Begin at Calvary!

Give me back my joy;
Give me back my good friends;
Give me back my good old days,
When I was just a boy!

God,
Give me back my peace;
Give me back my will-pow’r;
Give me back my piety,
When I had no disease!

Give me back my heart;
Give me back my faith / hope;
Give me back my love of Thee,
Which I had from the start!

Sonnet: New Shepherds!

Alone, I live a life of solitude,
Although surrounded by many persons;
This world is one full of ingratitude,
Where people change their hearts for no reasons!

No soul I know on whom I can depend;
The few good people change in tune with times;
I struggle myself trying to defend;
The world has changed ahead of changing climes!

But I can see new Shepherds in limelight;
The Lord performs miracles through these souls;
Despite the looming darkness amidst light,
The Maker gives these men of God, new roles!

The Holy Spirit dwells and functions well,
In turning many souls, away from hell.

Sonnet: Suffering to Heaven

Help me to bear my sorrows of my life;
Help me to live in piety, O God;
Help me to keep my faith amidst my strife;
Help me to fight my odds with courage, Lord.

Whatever be the cause of suffering-
Man-made, environmental or by fate,
Give me the strength of will in accepting
Them all, for glorifying Thee till date.

Let me ignore my woes as something naught;
There are some ones who suffer more than me;
Let me thank Thee and not say ’tis my lot;
O God, my soul becomes more heavenly!

Let me take up my cross and follow Thee,
O Jesus Christ- the light, the way, truly.

Sonnet: The Man of Wisdom!

Most labor for immediate good returns;
Some work all life to pull off great a feat;
For benefits and earthly gains, heart yearns;
We always want success to come and greet!

The man of wisdom does not wish for these;
He does his duties all whole-heartedly;
He only wants at mind and heart some peace;
He prays to God all life repeatedly!

All earthly things are transient, worthless;
Our stay on earth prepares our soul for God;
Our needs of life God gives, nevertheless;
This human life’s most precious gift from Lord!

God’s blessings give anyone good awards;
God-willingly anyone gets rewards.

Sonnet: When Trials Come …

When trials come more often than I bear,
I ask myself, “Must Christians all suffer? ”
Most worldly people appear to well fare;
“Are tribulations for purpose better? ”

“Why does God let the evil harm the good? ”
“Oh, how much longer must I endure, Lord? ”
“Do I suffer for sins of my childhood? ”
“Perhaps, my faith’s being tested by God? ”

God does not give us strife beyond limits;
He wants to make us better Christians fast;
But Satan tries to turn souls into bits;
God gives us ‘Crown of Life’ by trials vast!

When trials come, devils to us liest;
Our suff’rings aren’t greater than that of Christ!

O earthly lady, hallowed be thine womb!
What sufferings you underwent for us!
May God give you more useful years ’fore tomb!
Through you, so many miracles, God does.

O noble soul of love, may God bless you!

Vanity, Vanity

Vanity, Vanity, all is vanity; words expressed to you and me,
All our labors, here on earth, and what ultimately is its worth?
All men are born to just die, a common destiny for you and I,
And all this life is meaningless, words Solomon uttered to us.

The wisest man to ever live, parting words that he would give,
To all of the people of his age, recorded on Scripture’s page,
And even for our age to read; words of wisdom we can heed,
As we reflect, also, on our life, in the blessings and the strife.

He speaks of life upon earth, through to death, from his birth,
Of all the events in between, as we are in this temporal scene,
And just how empty it can be, when peoples discount eternity,
And that lasting Hope, God gives, to every soul that still lives.

Friend, Ecclesiastes is the book, if one desires to take a look,
At other things Solomon said; wisdom, many souls have read,
While he draws conclusions to, life lived daily, by me and you,
On the planet, of God’s Design, Who changes not, in our time.

With everything Solomon knew, what is a conclusion he drew?
In all times consider The Creator, this world’s Lord and Savior,
Fear God and keep His Law, as He alone, can save one’s soul,
And use your life to glorify, The Lord God, Who reigns on high.

God, rule my tongue, my works, my thought;
God, rule my mind, body, and heart;
God, rule all gifts from You I got;

God, rule my soul, guide it with art;
God, rule my life till I depart!

Almighty’s Ways are Incredible

The ways of Almighty are strange,
And mysterious, miraculous;
No human mind can understand
The timing of the things, He does.

Yet, God has plans for all of us,
And executes them so deftly;
The world is surprised by God’s works,
And how He goes about His job.

God raises righteous persons to
High positions in earthly life,
That gives them contentment so great,
The world cannot but stay amazed!

God heals the wounds of hearts and minds,
Removing indelible scars;
God gives peace lasting for lifetime
To lives, who plead and pray to Him.

God arranges such mighty things
That man’s efforts cannot achieve;
God builds the homes of upright souls
On rock, and blesses them amply!

The man of wisdom trusts in God;
The foolish man believes in self;
Mere human strength will fail most times;
God’s grace is needed for success!

So, trust in God and ask of Him;
God is ever-ready to help;
His heart of love is eager to
Listen to pleas of frantic souls!

Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Health, Vailankanni (A Thanks-giving Poem)

With hearts afilled with joy and awe,
We come to thank you, Mother dear;
For all the good things done so far,
Throughout the past, and present year!

O Queen of heaven, soul divine!
O Mary, Mother of Christ Lord!
You kept our family so fine,
Believing, living by the Word.

Do bless us in the future days,
And intercede to Jesus Christ;
Help us to live as per God's ways,
With purity of soul, as first.

O Lady of Miracles, Health!
Answer our prayers said all life;
Give us the grace and needed wealth
To tide over our earthly strife.

O Virgin who bore Jesus King!
Help us to fight the maligned foe!
Teach us to obey God and sing
A hymn of praise, thanksgiving, Oh!

O Vailankanni, born sin-free!
Help us to be holy like you;
And keep our soul heaven-ready,
By giving love to Jesus, due!

Pray for us, O Lady of Health!
Protect us from the devils' snare;
Prevent the tempter's attacks stealth;
Keep us under your loving care!

Sonnet: What If Death Comes!

A lot of faces known to me are gone,
Including near and dear ones, friends and foes!
I wonder if I would exist till dawn!
Bereavements add to personal grief and woes.

The list grows bigger as I turn older!
Some faces new become acquainted too;
With time, our earthly life appears colder;
When Death souls steals, what earthlings poor can do?

None know when death takes off another soul;
Our state of grace is always important;
Preparing soul for heaven is our goal;
No earthly job is more significant.

Good Christians never fear their time of death,
With faith in God unshakeable since birth!

Good Leaders

When leaders are by God appointed, then,
They must do things decreed by Providence;
And in ways according to their conscience,
Or else, they will crash down to earth, sudden!

All leaders must be good like Holy Lord;
Their subjects must be well-off in their rule;
The foolish king invites the wrath of God;
The atheist who rules will be a fool!

All things on earth are decreed by heaven;
All souls must tread the path destined by God;
By God, mankind was made to be even;
Depends on each to get award or rod!

God knows the problems leaders have to face;
God bestows wisdom needed to solve things;
Their sense of values, morals must be base;
Let leaders dole fairness to all earthlings!

Let leaders be wary of what they do;
The law shouldn’t give freedom to men to sin;
The good from ages, they must not undo;
The war with Satan, they must always win!

God laughs at earthly leaders for their pride;
They dare not take divine things for a ride;
First and foremost, they must in God abide;
Provoking God would like suicide!

I want to

I want to tell you a story, And you can read about it some more,

About a wise king called Solomon, who had servants do e Rey chore;

One day he heard the Lord God of Israel talk to him and say,

Because you chose to be my child, and my words you do obey,

I have decided to give you a gift and you can decide which to choose,

You can become very rich, so money, or wisdom, which can you use?

Solomon thought long and hard, and decided wisdom was the best,

And so God said because you wasn't greedy you can have the rest.

Solomon soon found out wisdom he did receive, from the Lord,

When 2 women came fighting over one baby boy he had heard;

The mother of the one who died said its mine the child that's alive,

But the other mother whose one who lived no that's mine, she does lie.

They both argued so king Solomon said cut the baby in two,

Let them share half each, In the bible you'll see it's true;

The real mother said no give to her, please don't destroy the boy,

But the other mum just kept saying slice him, she thought it like a toy.

So king Solomon said give the child to the mother over there,

She is the real mother, she was protecting him, cause she doth care;

Only a real mother could show so much love, enough to give away,

Than let her child be destroyed, Wise Solomon knew what to say.

Yes! Solomon received money as well, but becoming rich went to his head,

When he built such beautiful buildings, he forgot God, and said t'was I. Instead;

The Moral of this story, is don't forget to say Thanks to God for everything,

Never think that you did it all, God has made. So Give Praises to God as you sing.

Sonnet: Soul’s Gracile Feed

In life, I’ve met some persons who had played
Their earthly roles superbly well, I say;
Despite the world imperfect, they displayed
Exemplary standards by any day!

In life, I’ve met some, who’d frittered their lives,
Amassing wealth in easy ways but then,
They vanished soon like bees leaving their hives,
Without ev’r realizing God within!

In life, I’ve met a few human beings,
Who spent their time in service unto God,
Ignoring strife that hound many earthlings,
And brethren said, ‘Are not they looking odd? ’

Our earthly life is transient indeed;
Our duty prime is our soul’s gracile-feed!
