Like Jesus …

Like Jesus, Christians ought to bear a cross,
And carry it in His foot-steps and fall;
And drink from cup for sake of God though gall,
And walk to Calvary for Christ’s one cause!

Like Jesus, Christians must suffer a lot,
And live a humble life in ways of God,
To reach eternal bliss of Lord’s abode:
By death on cross, we sinners are all bought!

Like Jesus, Christians obey Our Father,
And reach Him through their incessant prayer,
And intercession by Mary Mother;
Our earthly problems, we will not bother!

Like Jesus, Christians will suffer great loss;
Be humiliated for no crimes of ours;
Be ridiculed and flayed, without a cause;
God is our leader, rear-guard and our Boss!

Jesus Christ, Our Hope, Strength and Refuge!

For sins of human beings all,
Lord Jesus laid His life on cross;
Although a sin-free soul Himself,
He suffered, died to redeem man.

He shed His every dropp of blood,
Emancipating human race
From punishment by hell for sins –
Such heinous crimes upon the earth!

The cross is part of Christian’s life,
And persecutions will happen,
As Christ predicted all these things,
For those who walked in His foot-steps!

His Holy Spirit guides Christians,
Who live a righteous life for Christ,
The only Son of Almighty –
A heart of immense love for man!

But Christ resurrected from death!
He won clear victory o’er satan;
All Christians good will do the same;
This faith is something strangely true.

Let humiliations come in life!
Let trials, tribulations come!
Let strife threaten our faith and hope!
Christ stays with us till end of time!

A Christian takes his cross and walks
Behind the Savior, Jesus Christ –
The Light and Truth and only Way
To reach Heaven, abode of God!

A Catholic House-warming Prayer

By sweat of human forehead built,
And money earned in honest ways;
Reside good Christians within it;
God bless this family always!

O Holy Spirit, Dove of peace,
Preserve love, faith and unity;
Help us to live our life with ease
Through fortitude and piety.

O Mother Mary, pray for us!
Ask Jesus Christ to ever bless,
And keep our souls in grace of God,
Until we part to His abode!

Saint Joseph, show us God is first,
And how to be a father best;
And teach our children about Christ,
And emulate the Holy Nest.

O saints and angels, dwell here-in;
Pray that we stay away from sin;
And keep our soul’s gaze towards God,
Living our lives, like Jesus Lord.

O Jesus Lord, bless us, we pray;
Protect this home both night and day;
Help us to carry our life’s cross,
And serve God nobly without pause!

Lord Jesus, be our guiding Light;
Help us to speak the Truth always;
Goad us to do all things aright;
Proclaiming God to human race!

The Cross

Two fallen twigs when kept across
Can form a cross;
Two blades of grass just put cris-cross
Becomes a cross.

Two fingers placed atop the next
Looks like a cross;
A wire-mesh has umpteen crosses,
Like stars the sky across.

The cross is symbol of Christians;
The cross is pride of all baptized;
The cross instills love of Jesus;
The cross is feared by all devils!

The cross is sign of faith in God;
The cross means sacrifice like Christ;
The cross reminds of victory over death;
Carry your cross and follow Christ.

The cross can save the worst sinner;
The cross is sign of after-life;
The cross means Christ is Son of God!
The cross leads always to heaven.

Sonnet: The Man on the Holy Cross

In Calvary, stood long ago a Cross!
That bore a special man called Jesus Christ,
The Son of God who died for us because,
Redeeming sinners forever- His thirst.

Though many had been crucified before,
The Savior’s death was fore-old in scriptures;
Maimed, humiliated, tortured to the core,
He shed His blood, suffered for man’s future.

And Jesus rose from death on the third day!
All on His own for He was Son of God;
All Christians thenceforth shall follow His way,
And men of other faiths too, tho’ from clod.

The Savior’s Resurrection was a feat!
All Satan’s devils could not Him defeat.

Let love of Jesus Christ…

Let love of Jesus Christ
Goad you to spread the Word
Across the world to all
And gather souls for God.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to sacrifice
Your life to follow Him
On the road to heaven.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Make you carry your cross
And walk in the footsteps
Of Christ to Calvary.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Serve to encounter Him
In miraculous ways
Reinforcing your faith.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to realize
The aim of earthly life
Is keeping soul sinfree.

Let love of Jesus Christ
Help you to sing and pray
For conversion of souls
And that more may see God!

Time To Be Revived

Christians in this land have so much if we would only open our eyes,
Unfortunately many keep them closed while they cry I'm so deprived.

As “One Nation Under God” we have so many pleasures known to man,
While the Faith that brought us here, for so many, is one big sham.

When Jesus Christ lived on earth, He had no place to rest His head,
And we enjoy prosperity while living a life that's spiritually dead.

The Lord said I have come that they might have life more abundantly,
He was not talking of this world's goods, but our lives spiritually.

The abundance He comes to give is Peace in Christ, His Joy and Love,
Our abundant life is in Christ and it is filled by The Spirit above.

Jesus Himself said but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
If you do this you will be filled abundantly with joy and happiness.

For when you seek The Lord, who is The Truth, He will set you free,
Free from daily concerns with a Hope that points others to Eternity.

But instead of living free just like Paul, who was filled with zeal,
We often focus too much on our earthly needs, like a simple meal.

Isaiah said that through Jesus on The Cross, the world God did heal,
Christians gave Christ their life when at The Cross they did kneel.

As new creatures in Christ, at The Cross, our wants were set aside,
With many still in need, it's time to open our eyes and be revived.

Good Friday...

Behold the wood that went to make the cross
That bore the Saviour Lord, King Jesus Christ:
The holy cross at Calvary on which
Was hung, the Redeemer of mankind race!

That man was only Son of God in flesh,
Who suffered, shed His precious blood as price
For every sin of everyone on earth,
Of Adam and of Eve in lineage!

It wasn’t about the cross that Jesus bore;
It was about the One who hung on it!
He came to earth as Mary’s baby boy,
And gave to men the Good News, peace and joy!

The cross of wood assumed significance
When Jesus died upon it for our sins;
The sacrifice supreme was love of God
For creature man of clay whom He had made!

When Christ resurrected upon third day,
And won o’er death and satan for all times,
The holy cross became the weapon sole
That scares away the devils back to hell!

The cross became the symbol of Christians,
Reminding man of Salvation for all,
As Christ had paid the price on our behalf,
And turned to be the Truth, Light, Way to God!

The holy cross beckons each one of us
To take up each one’s cross and follow Christ;
It is the only hope for all mankind
As life on earth becomes so meaningful!

God’s Love was born on Christmas day as Christ!
Man’s sins nailed Him to death upon the cross!
Christ’s obeisance to Father freed mankind
If repentant, from Fiery Pit of hell!

Reflect on passions Christ had undergone,
Before He died upon the holy cross;
Follow His teachings and precepts for man;
Heaven is nigh for sinners penitent!

Jesus’ Cross

The Holy Cross beckons
To follow Jesus Christ;
The source of strength and joy
To souls, for Lord athirst!

The Holy Cross guides us
To walk upon His steps;
The Son of God had died
To save mankind from sins.

The Holy Cross reminds
To place our trust in God;
Jesus resurrected
To annul man from rod.

The Holy Cross signals
That life has crosses, woes;
Yet, we must tread fearless;
Engages God, our foes!

The Holy Cross goads us
To carry each one’s cross;
Our war with satan’s won,
By Jesus, without loss!

The Holy Cross renews
Our ties with Jesus Lord;
He will come in glory
To judge mankind by Word!

Real Meaning Of Life

The real meaning of present life, begins at The Cross of Christ,
The cross on Mount Calvary, where Christ died for you and me,
Anywhere you travel on this sod, the Cross points men to God,
With a meaning far much higher, than any human earthly desire.

The Cross, purposed in this life, for man's Savior, Jesus Christ,
For the earthly life of Christ Jesus, not for Him, but for all of us,
His purpose came with a price, which was to be God's sacrifice,
As The Lord God purposed for Him, to be The Lamb for our sin.

Christ's example is for all men, in this world, God did condemn,
After sin had entered the earth, then The Lord put down a curse;
With a plan God had initiated, in a place where Christ was hated,
Crying for Him to be crucified; for them and All, Christ had died.

The Lord had left Heaven's majesty, to die for sinners at Calvary,
Surrendering His life for sinful man, all part of God's eternal plan,
Where Christ became sin for us, so we could gain righteousness,
This that through Jesus Christ, fallen man could attain eternal life.

For believers now on this earth, our present life has eternal worth,
Now with that promise of paradise, we are to be a living sacrifice,
Surrendering to God, all our life, to be witnesses for Jesus Christ,
So others, by the Cross of Calvary, may also secure life eternally.

Listen to Jesus’ Call

The man I know as Jesus,
Is Son of God, Most High;
-Conceived by Holy Spirit
In Virgin Mary’s womb!

He came to save all sinners
By death upon the cross;
He resurrected third day,
And showed his Godly powers!

What love has Father shown us!
Though earthlings don’t deserve;
He sacrificed His Son’s life,
To pay souls’ freedom price!

Now all can go to heaven,
If we can follow Christ;
Take up your cross and walk then
In footsteps of the Lord.

Renounce the work of devils;
Put trust in Jesus Christ;
He comes to judge all mankind,
When He comes second time!

Repent for sins of past years;
Reconcile with the Lord;
Remember Heaven’s nigh
For righteous and upright.

Jesus can forgive sins all;
Just ask and be made pure;
He waits in Heaven’s glory
For every soul, He made!

Oh, what a wonder God is!
He’s awesome, most loving;
His mercy is infinite
Listen to Jesus’ call!

Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity

Is India Still Secular?

A nun was gang-raped in public;
A priest was beaten black and blue!
Half-naked, both were paraded;
While police-men stood near-by mute!

They burnt houses of Christians!
They torched the churches and killed some;
They reconverted quite a few;
‘Christians have no place in own land! ’

This was how Kandhamal returned
the love and charity of both;
They suffered for the sake of Christ!
Shame on a nation with such crimes!

Religions have sense of values;
But fanatics don’t have any;
Are not the Christians Indians too;
Why blame them for a Hindu’s death?

‘A little pencil in God’s hand’, -
in words of Mother Teresa –
are missionary sisters who serve
serve the poorest poor for Christ’s sake!

They see Christ in the poor they meet;
Like pencils they serve till worn out;
In white sarees with blue-border,
Their Foundress was Mother Teresa;

They offer smiles to distressed souls;
They caress people abandoned;
They console hearts filled with chaos;
The unwanted are made happy.

But Jesus touches any heart!
He turned Saul to Apostle Paul!
God’s-calling, no one can refuse;
All souls surrender to His love.

The ways of God are strange and queer!
God chooses anyone He wants;
He will not neglect souls that pray;
God’s rod is weapon powerful-most!

The country where Teresa slogged,
And won the Noble Prize for Peace
Has sadly ignored her sisters,
Who suffer ignominy much.

No one knows what one will become!
Religion is a transient thing –
The outer garb for every soul,
That must be pure to Heaven reach.

Why crush the flowers meant for God?
No man can win against God’s power;
Why ruin lives who serve the Lord?
God’s curse and wrath awaits such souls!

A priest or nun has made a vow –
His body, mind belongs to God;
He lives his life just for God’s sake;
His soul will surely reach heaven.

To be a Christian is God’s will!
A Christian is proud to be one;
He’ll give his life for Jesus’ sake;
His love for God, no one can steal!

God, I am Yours (a prayer)

God, I am Yours –
My body, mind, spirit and soul;
You made me with Your divine love;
Let me proclaim the same love
To everyone in this world You made;
Let me renounce all that is sinful;
Let me live life as per Your code;
Let me reveal to the world Your great love for humanity;
Let me lead an exemplary life so that others and non-believers
realize the presence of God in everything I do;
Let me suffer if need be for Thine sake
And bear witness of Thine only Son and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Let me bear my cross and walk in His footsteps to Calvary;
Let me show others how special I am in being a Roman Catholic;
Let me change the world and make it a better place for all to live;
Let me tell the atheists that there is a living, loving, longing God,
Who cares for all and wants us all to be back with Him,
In the city of Eternal bliss called Heaven, the Abode of God.

Mark My Words!

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
To his fare for the night,
'Us Christians know what lies ahead
And we will steer you right.'
Then he explained his earnest faith
In Jesus Christ the Lord
And said that He was strong to save,
That's why He is adored.

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
'Christ is the light of men!
Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead!
He's coming back again!
The Holy Bible's prophecies
Are meant to put us straight.
They prove Christ is the Prince of Peace
For whom us Christians wait.'

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
'Lord Jesus died for you!
Upon that Cross His Blood was shed
To prove God's love is true.
For all our sins He took the blame,
Then took our sins away.
That's why us Christians praise His Name!
That's why us Christians pray.'

'You mark my words, ' the Cabbie said,
To his fare for the night,
'Us Christians must be Spirit-led,
Serve God with all our might! '
The passenger had understood.
He was a Christian, too.
His heart was warmed, 'Our God is good!
Good night and God bless you! '

Spate in Persecution of Indian Christians?

Conversions come from God, the Almighty!
The ways of God are strange, unfathomable;
Christ Jesus forecast persecutions when
One follows Him on road to Calvary.

The Bible is the Word of God, most High;
The words are true and give light to mankind;
The words can work miracles in minds, hearts;
None can prevent the souls that heed His call!

A few fanatics spread disharmony;
The nation ought to ban these groups of men;
They sow the seeds of discord amidst all;
‘All Indians are brothers and sisters’ – Know.

Christians of India are Indians as well.
Why destroy churches, unleash on them, hell?
Why kill and maim the 3% of souls?
They are ready to lay down lives for God!

No one has right to kill or destroy homes;
No heinous crimes on earth go unpunished;
All minorities should be protected;
The fanatics should be booked very fast..

The floods and droughts are killing more people;
Abortions, hunger takes so many lives;
The poor are turning poorer every day;
Why destroy places of worship sacred?

The Holy Spirit will show them the way;
God will punish those who destroy churches;
All violent men will reap a violent end;
All Christians pray God ushers peace again.

The noble work of Indian Christians stand
As testimony to the love of God,
Who loves all righteous souls and sinners too;
Why kill and maim all Indian Christians? –Tell.

Are Indian Christians from another world?
They fought for Freedom and shed their blood too;
They serve to mitigate sufferings around;
Why burn them live as if they had done crimes?

The blood of martyrs has founded the Church;
All Christians wait for Christ’s second coming;
All evil-doers will be punished then, with
Hell’s pit fiery, as their eternal home.

All Christians pray that God should calm the place;
A few extremists can’t sow much discord;
Awake, O Leaders, ‘Make the land aright.’
Democracy of India can’t go wrong!

O Living God, One and Lord Jesus Christ!
Pour your compassion on the suffering souls!
Let religion not cause a deep divide
Amidst the Indians who are all one flock!

The name of Jesus gives us grace anew;
The name of Jesus cures minds of evils;
The name of Jesus portrays divine view;

The name of Jesus flashes parables;
The name of Jesus makes a clarion call!

God's Simple Way of Salvation

God's desire is for all men to come to repentance from all the earth,
Indeed all men must come to Salvation in Christ through a new birth.

For all men everywhere have been born naturally into a life of sin,
And every man has a soul that Christians should be seeking to win.

God's way of Salvation is foolishness to those who ultimately perish,
But for all those saved by The Blood it's something we truly cherish.

The unbelievers perish because they refuse to believe and be saved,
And because they fail to love the Truth they continue to be depraved.

These words may seem very harsh and even quite judgmental to some,
But my friend Jesus said to all, if anyone is thirsty, let him come.

Like the woman at the well, Jesus knew my sins and what was in store,
And like the woman Jesus told me you're forgiven, go and sin no more.

And a sinful soul is what I am, so I humbly entreated The Son of Man,
So on a cross a sinless man washed my sins in The Blood of The Lamb.

Filled with sin and shame that day I accepted God's Great Salvation,
And now my life I live for Him, with much due love and appreciation.

On the cross all alone, Christ took the punishment for all of my sin,
Now with His love and power above I live to seek out souls to win.

For one sinless man on Calvary died to cleanse and set sinners free,
So I humbly serve That Man from Calvary pointing sinners to Eternity.

Limbs, not heads, are in fight

Jesus and Krishna are not two entities
As were evolved in the west and the east
But rooted as same in Afghanistan,
As though they are two sides of a coin.

Both were born in cattle sheds.
Both did rearing cattle and miracles.
Jesus spread love and Krishna, faith.
Jesus stood by poor, Krishn, by Kings.

Jesus to the Christians is the Son of God.
Krishna to the Hindus, the God incarnation.
Jesus and Krishna have more in common
Than the Christians and the Hindus.

Praise The Cross Of Jesus

Today I praise the cross of Jesus, where He died and bled for me.
For on that very cross of Jesus, His bloody death has set me free.
Christ came to die for all of us, upon that bloody cross of Calvary.
And upon Him I place my trust, from this day through all Eternity.

It was upon the cross of Christ, that He came to die so I could live.
Christ came to offer to us His life, the gift His Father chose to give.
Jesus came to be our sacrifice, so that all our sins God will forgive.
It is through the blood of Jesus Christ, that I can now eternally live.

Nothing was done on my part, but to accept Christ and to believe.
Christ even moved upon my heart, with The Spirit that I received.
New Life in me He would start, the life The Spirit would conceive.
And for me, a message to impart, for New Life you must believe.

You must believe in Jesus Christ, who came to save you and me.
He sent The Spirit into this strife, to give us eyes so we could see,
That Jesus came to give men life, so that they could live eternally.
This life is found in Jesus Christ, and is from the blood of Calvary.

Friend, there is only but one name, that men can lift up and raise,
For no common man can claim, any credit and seek men’s praise.
No man’s glory and or fame, can compare to The Ancient of Days.
And Jesus Christ is the only name, that by all men will be praised.

Love Not Judge

The Lord wants not to judge us; God simply desires to love us.
He sent His Son for you and me, to a bloody hill called Calvary.
God had sent Jesus to that cross, for sinful men who were lost,
Where Jesus Christ died for all, taking the judgment for our fall.

He wants not to take your life, but give you one in Jesus Christ,
Who didn’t come to punish you, but to give you a life that’s new.
The reason why Christ was sent, was to receive our punishment.
On the cross Christ’s punishment, was in place of our judgment.

The Lord above is a Loving God, but His justice demands a rod,
One against the darkness of sin, and all enemies opposing Him.
Christ left His Eternal Light, to oppose the darkness of the night.
Christ had died for you and me, for us to live with God eternally.

It was God who loved us first, and in Christ offered us New Birth,
When we were but sinful dust, He had sent His Son to die for us.
And through His Son Jesus Christ, sinners go from death to life,
For at the time that God sent Him, we were still dead in our sin.

God will save you from all your sin, if you will only let Christ in,
If you let Christ into your heart, you will have a brand new start.
Then you will not fear His Rod, when you make Him your God,
You will instead reign with Him, when He judges death and sin.
