The Assassination
It begins again, the nocturnal pulse.
It courses through the cables laid for it.
It mounts to the chandeliers and beats there, hotly.
We are too close. Too late, we would move back.
We are involved with the surge.
Now it bursts. Now it has been announced.
Now it is being soaked up by newspapers.
Now it is running through the streets.
The crowd has it. The woman selling carnations
And the man in the straw hat stand with it in their shoes.
Here is the red marquee it sheltered under.
Here is the ballroom, here
The sadly various orchestra led

The greatest mistake a man would make in life is to get married to a wife of deplorable attitude. I know what it is like
To be attracted to someone
With cold shoulders.

But there is something addicting,

The Vision
As the sun begins to set on the horizon,
I walk down a lonely path towards the sea-
Know not do I its reason, its form no surprising:
Looking to land's end, I see a solitary vision looking back at me!
Far off in the distance, framed in it's solar glare
This beauteous vision, in all its amazing grace-
Begins to move toward me, until very nearly there
Soon I am able to take in the form's feminine face!
It then occurs to me that I know her, and have for all my days-
Though not had I laid eyes upon her for years nearly 2 score:
I had seen her every day of my life, in myriad ways-
I allowed that visage to fade, always needing more!
One day the vision came to me in yet another form,
This time though, always and ever, shall she stay and keep me warm!

Like an Unused Expletive
When folks stop showing they care,
With expected responses
Others had grown accustomed,
To be shown reliably there.
And it has gone?
Something has turned around,
Something has gone wrong!
To expose a cold shoulder...
Never before thought could be found!
Like a familiar ride on a merry-go-round.
It may be there to provide a service.
Like an unused expletive!
Someone has chosen not to dignify,
To sting the atmosphere.
Or believe would satisfy a benefit,
To anyone overhearing it!
And with those warnings tossed aside,
An explanation tried in the past...
Dies.
A purpose seems to have come to a close.
With an attempt to save a repeated waste of time.
To halt before the repetition begins.
'What is being accomplished?
And for whose understanding...
Should I appear to be the idiot? '
Someone involved has taken another for granted.
And like an 'ex' of anything experienced...
An ax has been used to sever a close tie abused!
A determination has been made,
