When Ginger Rogers danced with Astaire, it was the only time in the movies when you looked at the man, not the woman.

Fred Astaire
Romance me...dance me
til I dont care
You havent lived until youve danced on air
Whisper nothings if you dare
Wont you please, be my fred astaire
(jam):
Everybody up...everybody up
Everybody up on the dance floor now
Everybody up...everybody up
Everybody up on the dance floor now
I know they call you mr. lonely heart
But youre the leading man to play the part
You dont have to be a millionaire
All you have to do is be my fred astaire
(chorus):
Get up now...get up now
Get up now...be my fred astaire (x2)
(jam):
When you move its like a melody
Serenading...the very heart of me
Ill be your ginger rogers on the floor
Swirl me. twirl me til I just cant
Take no more
(chorus):
Boy if you could only read my mind
Youve been in my dreams a thousand time
(jam):
(chorus jam):
Everybody up
(get up now)
Everybody up
(get up now)
Everybody up
(be my fred astaire).

I loved old black and white movies, especially the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musicals. I loved everything about them - the songs, the music, the romance and the spectacle. They were real class and I knew that I wanted to be in that world.

GINGER SNAPS...by talile ali
ONE OF THE STRANGEST TRUTHS, I GUESS
I ALWAYS KNOW GIRLS THAT I WANT TO UNDRESS
IT SEEMS KINDA STRANGE, BUT WHAT CAN I SAY
IF THEY LIKE GINGER SNAP'S, I KNOW THAT I'LL GET MY WAY
CHORUS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
I AM SUCH A FAN OF THOSE GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
SEND ME THE WOMEN I NEED
I SAID IT WAS STRANGE, BUT I'M NOT MAKING IT UP
IF THEY LIKE GINGER SNAPS, I'LL BE EATIN THEM UP
MAYBE IT'S JUST MY THINKIN, BUT I CAN SAY I FEEL
THE SIMPLE FACT TO ME STEPS INTO THE SURREAL
CHORUS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
I AM SUCH A FAN OF THOSE GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
SEND ME THE WOMEN I NEED

They Dance!
During the day
She's a full time typist
At the computer
And on the phone
During the day
He's a auto-mecnhanic
Punchin' a time clock
And livin' alone
But at night
In the dark
When the sun goes down
Yes at night
Night is when they
Go to town!
And they dance
And she fells like
Ginger Rogers
They dance!
He's got the flair
Of Fred Astaire
They dance!
As they glide
Around the ballroom
They dance!
And the world
Belongs to them
When they dance!
Nobody knows that
She has a secret
None of her family
Would ever connect
All of his friends think
He's shy and quiet
Not in the world would
They ever suspect
That at night
In the dark
When the sun goes down
Yes at night
Night is when they
Go to town
And they dance!
He's as cool as
John Travolta!
They dance!
She's as hot as Janet J.!
They dance!
As they glide
Around the ballroom
They dance!
They forget about the day
When they dance!
And they dance!
He's Antonio Banderas
They dance!
She's Ann Miller
On the screen!
They dance!
Now the crowd
Is cheering louder
They dance!
And the night
Is like a dream
When they dance!

Part of the joy of dancing is conversation. Trouble is, some men can't talk and dance at the same time.

Man Danced
Man danced
Woman faltered.
The room spun
Accordingly.
Ten past nine:
Night sky and
Music.
And Man danced,
Woman faltered.
Smile on a lip
And the Band,
Playing.
Nine past ten;
Man danced
Woman faltered.
But Man insisted:
Man and Woman
Danced.

No Words
Out in the night
It could be fun
It could be fun
It could be fun
No words to explain
No words in my mouth
No words in my mind
But the gesture said it all
And the words refined it all
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw it before
I saw it before
Right now, I guess you move
I saw it before
I saw it before that time
But the gesture said it all
And the words refined it all
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw it before
I saw it before
Right now, I guess you move
I saw it before

Dancing In Flowers At A Lover’s Fair
ever since all Ken's dancing on ship cruises
every time you mention dancing I have visions
of legendary Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers
I see them dance floral scenes among flowers

Rhythm is born in all of us. To be a desirable dancing partner you don't have to do all the intricate fancy steps that happen to be in vogue. All you have to do is be a good average dancer and anybody who spends the time and effort can accomplish this.

I believe in living each day as it comes, to the best of my ability. When it's done, I put it away, remembering that there will be a tomorrow to take it's place. If I have any philosophy, that's it. To me it's not a fatalistic attitude.

i Saw a Woman
i saw a woman
Dancing on her grave
She smiled and sang
La la lee
La la lo
La la lee
La la lo
She picked up Death's cat
By tail & twirled the thing
La la lee
La la lo
Death watched curriously
How this thing could be
La la lee
He scratched his head
La la lo
The woman looked back at Death
And flipped him off
Her skeleton bones
Were white as snow
Now her dance
Was beginning to slow
Death thought now
Was her time to go
Instead
She skinned the cat
And made a dress
Put it on
And picked up her song
La la lee
Death's eyes popped out
At what he saw next
The woman's bones
Grew new flesh
Her hair combed and tapered in curls
Death ran at her with fury
But tripped along
An old tomebstone
La la lo
Death on the ground
She picked up her dance
And danced on Death
Bone by bone
She trampled him in the ground
The last thing he saw
Was the woman's child
And he sang and danced
La la lee
Along with a whole
Party of bones
La la lo

A Man & A Woman
And the band began to play, without a song theyd lose their way
A song of love and custom dreams, a song of yesterday
When they danced, when they danced, her skirts were lifted high
She felt the music in his arms, the danger in his eyes
And a woman said no, and a man said but I love you so
And a woman moved closer, and a man said take my love into your heart
I must have you here by my side
It happened all too fast, they came to love and they came to last
No-one remembers now who lied, true love is made of glass
And a woman said change, and a man said as soon as I can
And a woman said open up, and a man said
Your ways right, youre my love, I wont be holdin you down
In the evening of their lives, no regrets and clear blue skies
They meet again in old new york, he tells her one sweet lie
And they danced and they danced, and a man said I love you so
And a woman moved closer, and a man said take my love into your heart
I must have you here by my side
