No Words
Out in the night
It could be fun
It could be fun
It could be fun
No words to explain
No words in my mouth
No words in my mind
But the gesture said it all
And the words refined it all
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw it before
I saw it before
Right now, I guess you move
I saw it before
I saw it before that time
But the gesture said it all
And the words refined it all
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw how you looked at me
I saw how you danced with her
I saw it before
I saw it before
Right now, I guess you move
I saw it before

A Ring Of Bright Words Dancing
and that day
eighty words woke up, listened to each other,
smiled, joined hands,
danced in a ring
and as they danced around and round
the space inside the circle
became magic
the earth flowed
into a brightness in the air
which in its space
became sound
the words dancing
left a ring in the grass
in the sound of a poem
then returned home
to where words rest
in stillness and in silence
until called upon
to waken fresh

We Never Danced
Between heaven and earth
Theres a ballroom floor
Where the couples glide
In the evermore.
Floating through the clouds
Dancing in the rain
Eyes that see no lies
Hearts that feel no pain.
Hope its not too late
We were more than friends
I can hardly wait
til we meet again.
If you dont really know
Where you want to go
It makes no difference
Which road you take.
Hope its not too late
We were more than friends
I can hardly wait
til we meet again.
We never danced
We never danced
We never danced the night away.
We never danced
We never danced
We never danced the night away.

Something In The Air
Your coat and hat are gone
Ive really cant look at your little empty shelf
A ragged teddy bear
It feels like we never had a chance
Dont look me in the eye
We lay in each others arms
But the room is just an empty space
I guess weve lived it out
Something in the air
We smiled to fast then cant think of a thing to say
Lived with the best times
Left with the worst
Ive danced with you too long
Nothing left to save
Lets take what we can
I know you hold your head up high
Weve raced for the last time
A place of no return
And theres is something in the air
Something in my eye
Ive dance with you too long (yeah)
Something in the air
Something in my eye
Abracadoo, I loose you
We cant avoid the clash
The big mistake
Now were gonna pay and pay
The sentence of our lives
Cant believe Im asking you to go
We used what we could
To get the things we want
But we lost each other on the way
I guess you know I never wanted anyone more than you
Lived all our best times
Left with the worst
Ive danced with you to long
Say what you will
Theres something in the air
Raced for the last time
Well I know youll hold your head up high
But its nothing we have to say
Theres nothing in our eyes
But theres something in the air
Something in my eye
Ive danced with you too long
Theres something I have to say
Theres something in the air
Something in my eye
Do do do do
Do do do do
Ive danced with you too long
Do do do do
Do do do do
Danced with you too long
Do do
Danced with you too long
Something in the air
Something in the air
Do do do do
Do do do do

Life can be so surreal
When he first clapped eyes on her
you could have heard the clapping
in the next ballroom.
Then his eyes danced.
They disengaged themselves gracefully
as from a group of friends,
cut and coiled their stalks
as if some umbilical cord,
and danced.
They danced at eye-height, which seemed
appropriate, considering;
you'd have thought they'd danced together
all their lives, they danced so well together.
They danced the quickstep first, then
the foxtrot; then a sparkling jive. At
the end, they bowed to her, respectfully,
yet in a way as if they knew the score,
had an eye or two to the future.
Then, quite simply, they returned,
picked up where they had left off.
No hint of what had gone on, except perhaps
a whiter shade of white around their irises,
and still clearly lit up from their first fill of her;
for she was, we all agreed, an eyeful.

Move On
Hey, Shake It, Shake It, Shake It
There's A Monkey On My Back
Been There Much Too Long
Every Time I Kick It Off
Another One Comes Along
I Used To Be In Another World
I Used To Be Alone
It's So Hard To Be Yourself
When You Feel Like Something's Wrong
(chorus)
There Are No Words That Could Explain
You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
There Are No Words That Could Explain
Oh You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
She Said, "I've Had Enough Of Your Lies
Can't Wait For Anyone
The Beginning Of The End
Don't You Know That's All Wrong
When You Said Nothing Changes
You Meant To Say It Won't Take Long"
I Used To Be In Another World
I Used To Be Alone
It's So Hard To Be Yourself
When You Feel Like Something's Wrong
Move On
There Are No Words That Could Explain
You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
There Are No Words That Could Explain
I Said Move, You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
There Are No Words That Could Explain
You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
There Are No Words That Could Explain
Oh You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
Move It
Move On
There's A Question In My Head
Been There All Night Long
Well I Toss And Turn Inside My Head
But I Won't Let It Tear Me Down
Yeah, Used To Be In Another World
I Used To Be Alone, Yeah
There Are No Words That Could Explain
The Strongest Love In Vain
Oh You Gotta Move On
There Are No Words That Could Explain
You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
There Are No Words That Could Explain
Oh You Gotta Move On
The Strongest Love In Vain
Had Enough, Oh, Gotta Move On, Yeah

I Love You
I must be crazy now
Maybe I dream too much
But when I think of you
I long to feel your touch
To whisper in your ear
Words that are old as time
Words only you would hear
If only you were mine
I wish I could go back to the very first day I saw you
Should've made my move when you looked in my eyes
'Cause by now I know that you'd feel the way that I do
And I'd whisper these words as you'd lie here by my side
I love you

Please say you love me too
These three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together
'Til the end of time
So today I finally find the courage deep inside
Just to walk right up to your door
But my body can't move when I finally get to it
Like a thousand times before
Then without a word you handed me this letter
Read I hope this finds the way into your heart

Guess (should i ever give the girl i love this., ,)
Guess....
Just guess.. they're 3 words thats it, not too hard
really just 3 words my dear
you have to figure them out right here
allow me to get close....close...
closer to you before i am taken by comatose,
let me lean in and whisper my 3 words to you
the 3 words i hope you know them too
one guess and one guess only, as i
tickle and tease you, galvanize your imagination so far as to fly
can you share my joy?
maybe you will share my joy after you guess, this isn't a decoy
I'm not running, I'm honest allow me to caress
you and fondle with your hair but guess
just 3 words,3 magic ones, last hint...closer..magic... heres the spell
it changes you and me to us, now you should know quite well
guess those magic words as i lean in close.... just three...magic..three...
as you stand here right next to me
come I'll whisper them to you
but first just guess and I will guess your next words too
3 magic words, , , , closer just three to change my story
this will fill those lines and change my life as i tickle you
and tease you, , ,3 words guess i ask you answer in four
let me caress you let me be close.... guess the words

About Last Night
Last night we met again,
Surrounded by old friends
In the very place
Where we were seen together
Many times before...
Me, alone, still being my unique self,
You, as beautiful as always,
Accompanied by a new man,
Showing off without disdain
Trying to prove that I 've been replaced,
Of yourself, you made a fool...
With my mind uplifted,
My heart completely calmed
And my pride still untarnished:
I drank and danced
With the whole world...
Looking at you
With a stoned cold indifference,
I danced and danced again
Celebrating with joy my new me,
Happy to be totally free...
In you, I saw the same picture again,
But this time with a different frame...
Sadly as it looked, you became
A victim of your childish game,
No longer feeling my love's flame...
Desperately you tried to hide
And couldn't find the mask,
The one from you proudly I removed..
I am I and you are you,
Still with pride and plenty love to prove,
A soulful and honest man I remain,
A living proof of this was left
In the very place
Last night we met again...

Listening Trade Martin Singing “For Your Love”
The melody danced the velvet words,
But the passionate wind
Embraced them all
For keeping them vivid
And making them
More beautiful than ever.
Those special words,
Never trading his feelings,
Made me to understand that
Trade had never traded
Any love.
His melody danced his feelings
On notes
And the light pushed them all
Into the sacred place
Of creation.
It was like an expansion of space
Or like
A new dimension.
The sound drops
Encountered their eternity.
Suddenly, I realized that
I needed to understand
Him,
I realized
That Trade Martin was really there,
Singing for us
And living
In his incommensurable dimension.
The sounds were passing through the rightness
Of his soul,
Embracing his poetical words,
Wholly expressing his thinking.

Gertrude Stein is interviewed on American poetry
and there was the knocking on the door
that we were expecting
and it was the man
that we were expecting
with the questions we were expecting
to which answers were expected
by those who expect answers
as if life were like that
which for writers it is not
yes, tea was drunk
and after tea the tape recorder set up
so that what I said
I would continue to say
somewhere else
even when I changed my mind
here and nowhere else
and he said Ms Stein
what do you think of American poetry
and we said well it's American
and it's poetry
that's as it should be
and really that's all there is to say
and the man looked disappointed
so we asked him did he read poetry
and he said poetry no I dont read poetry
but my editor does
so I said it's really about Americans
living their lives
that's what American poetry is really about
because Americans move around
and so their words move around and
words in English have lost their intensity
but American words are always on the move
and they are more intense
yes, Americans living among Americans
and talking to their neighbours
if it's not about that
it's not really American poetry at all is it
if it's not about that
then why bother writing poetry
and the man was asking about a rose
being a rose being a rose and we said
for a hundred years the rose
has not been red in poetry
but now for the first time in a hundred years
the rose is red again
and the man looked at his watch
and said thank you Ms Stein
and was switching off his tape recorder
and a month later that
was what we said
in a magazine much read
by Americans who mostly
are not poets no very few but we said it
we know that this is so
because we read it there
and we think that really
that was all there was to say
because that was all we think
is really important
about American Poetry
that the words move like Americans move
and that is exciting for a writer
and that is the important thing about

The Enchanted Wood (Part 3)
As the door opened, he could see
the room was filled with people.
They looked at him as he entered
everyone smiled saying good evening.
He was ushered to the top of the table
and seated beside a beautiful young woman.
Her smile radiated the room
with light and warmth.
“Hello, you must be Lord Charles
my husband to be.
I am Princess Juliet.”
Her voice flowed through him
like a river of tranquillity.
At first, he was not sure
just what to say to her.
He stumbled over his words
and it made her laugh.
Suddenly he was at ease
and it seemed they were
the only two in the room
and when he looked around,
they were the only two
everyone else had disappeared.
As they chatted he felt at home,
a home he could only have wished for.
They ate and talked
and when they had finished
the food and the dishes disappeared.
Suddenly as if by magic,
an orchestra began playing.
They got up and danced
and danced and danced
into the late evening.
They then took a stroll
into the garden in the moonlight,
walking arm in arm.
They stopped briefly,
where he stole a kiss.
As he awoke the next morning,
he could not remember much
of the night before
only that he had met his princess
and had a wonderful time.
“I am your clothes for today.”
He looked around as the clothes
suddenly threw themselves at him
and suddenly he was dressed.
“I see you are ready M’ Lord.”
“Ready for what? ”
“Your wedding M’ Lord.”
He followed the tall man
down the stairs
and out into the courtyard
where a carriage pulled by six white horses
stood waited for him.
He stopped and looked around
apart from the crowds of people
white doves danced
pirouettes in the sky.
They looked golden
as the sun painted them
with its warming rays.
Flags and pennants of different colours
hung out from everywhere.
From the Cathedral, church bells filled the air
as the carriage moved slowly
along the cobble stone streets
lined with people either side.
He sat and waved at them
through the window of the carriage
as the procession passed.
Within a few minutes,
they arrived at the great city Cathedral.
As he stepped from the carriage,
there seemed a party atmosphere everywhere.
Entering the Cathedral
the serine voices of the choir
rose up to the rafters
as the Cathedral bells
could be heard across the hamlets.
The pews were filled
from front to back.
He stood at the alter
waiting for his bride to be.
He felt that this must be all a dream
and in a moment, he would awake
back to the harsh realities of his life.
Then the organ announced of the brides arrival.
To be concluded

A Step Half Made
As lightening shone and thunder blew
I danced the dance that dancers do
They danced it back and asked if I
Would mind them dancing through the night
I thought no harm could come of this
Besides, such company I’ve missed
Thus, on we danced so unaware
That torrent rains beyond compare
Fell down in floods on higher ground
And like a wall came crashing down
Then somewhere in a step half made
The dance I danced was washed away
Now all that’s left for you to see:
Remains of the catastrophe
Oh, hopefully from this you’ll know
Don’t ever dance when thunder blows

Rock & Roll Band
[false start]
We just sat there
[rock & roll band]
We just sat there
Never ever thinkin'
We'd get much older.
Layin' out on the beach
With our heads on each other's shoulder,
And we flagged the highway drivers down,
And get a ride to nowhere.
That means sit somewhere out of town,
We never ever had a care.
Wasn't that a time,
Yeah, so wasn't that a soul time.
Wasn't that a time,
Wasn't that a soul time.
And we stayed out all night long,
And never ever wanted to go home then.
Crossed the fields and streams,
In meadows we did roam then.
And we did not wanna question,
And never asked for why,
And we look back in sad remembrance
And we softly sigh.
And wasn't that a time,
Yes, wasn't that a soul time.
Wasn't that a time,
Yeah, wasn't that a soul time.
And we danced, we danced, we danced
To a rock & roll band.
And we danced, we danced, we danced, we danced
To a rock & roll band
With the three guitars
And the drums
And the saxophone.
And we just sat there on the beach
Never ever thinkin' we'd get much older.
So far out of reach
With our heads on each other's shoulder.
Flagged the highway drivers down,
And we get a lift to nowhere,
Somewhere out of town.
We never ever had a care.
Wasn't that a time,
Yeah, wasn't that a soul time.
Wasn't that a time,
Wasn't that a soul time,

Do You Still Dance?
The whispers in my mind are here again.
I know you don't hear them
but you're where they began.
I should have turned them off
when I had the chance
But the music played and then we danced.
*** Do you still dance baby without me in your arms?
Do you still dance without me?
Can you still hear the music whenever you're alone?
Can you hear the music without me?
I want to dance again, dance with you.
When I feel that beat all that I can do
is remember how it felt
when I danced with you
when the music played and we danced.
And those whispers from the past are still with me.
I know you don't hear them
'cause they're where you can't be
I should have turned them off
when I had the chance.
But the music played and then we danced

We Danced On The Ceiling
(ronnie scott/ steve wolfe)
Producer for bonnie: hugh murphy
**we danced on the ceiling
We danced on the wall
It gave me the feeling
That I wasnt there at all
We danced on the moonlight
We danced on the stars
Too early the daylight
Came liftin the mask
*oh I dont wanna let it end
I dont wanna say goodbye
I dont wanna let the only thing
We ever had expire
Wont you take me through the night
To that far and distant light
Wont you take me back to paradise again
***you took me to heaven
(oh) you took me from hell
We danced on the ceiling
Together we fell
*repeat
Wont you take me back to paradise again
**repeat
***repeat
*repeat
cause we danced on the ceiling
And we danced on the wall
It gave me the reeling

The Red Dance
There was a girl
who danced in the city that night,
that April 22nd,
all along the Charles River.
It was as if one hundred men were watching
or do I mean the one hundred eyes of God?
The yellow patches in the sycamores
glowed like miniature flashlights.
The shadows, the skin of them
were ice cubes that flashed
from the red dress to the roof.
Mile by mile along the Charles she danced
past the benches of lovers,
past the dogs pissing on the benches.
She had on a red, red dress
and there was a small rain
and she lifted her face to it
and thought it part of the river.
And cars and trucks went by
on Memorial Drive.
And the Harvard students in the brick
hallowed houses studied Sappho in cement rooms.
And this Sappho danced on the grass.
and danced and danced and danced.
It was a death dance.
The Larz Anderson bridge wore its lights
and many cars went by,
and a few students strolling under
their Coop umbrellas.
And a black man who asked this Sappho the time,
the time, as if her watch spoke.
Words were turning into grease,
and she said, 'Why do you lie to me?'
And the waters of the Charles were beautiful,
sticking out in many colored tongues
and this strange Sappho knew she would enter the lights
and be lit by them and sink into them.
And how the end would come -
it had been foretold to her -
she would aspirate swallowing a fish,
going down with God's first creature
dancing all the way.
