Theory
Some vital aspect split our primate past
and heralded the rise of modern man,
The experts scan the intervening span
to pinpoint where exact the dice were cast.
An upright stance gave scope of spaces vast
and language lent ability to plan,
With strong-thumbed hands the use of tools began
and progress surged with fire's inflaming blast.
Yet these and more are surplus to our breed,
a single human feature formed our shape,
Dissatisfaction blazed us to the lead
and from a savage world we made escape.
Genetic restlessness and need did seed
triumphant man; The Discontented Ape.

R.i.p. 1947 - 201?
The years misspent sped, span
two distant worlds which man
in his own image made.
Impatience one displayed.
The other, though, began
to turn the tables played
cards which the first dismayed.
First communistic clan
supremacy sought, ran
from peoples’ hopes, obeyed
itself, then fast did fade.
Then came with WAN and LAN
an internet whose braid
spurred education, trade.
Pollution corn crops, bran,
made scarce as watering can.
Democracy decayed
though most lip-service paid
to freedom’s flag. ‘The Plan’
freethinking had to ban,
as most men grew afraid
of diff’rences, - few stayed!
I write here while I can,
while my last moments fan
Life’s embers which, when weighed,
no feather tip. Beard greyed,
regretting much, I scan
the Past which, heedless, ran
after ‘progress’ - jade
which many hopes waylayed.

Acrostic 1992
Narrow the world, with very little scope
Inside its boundaries for warring creed.
Now seed, now bloom, now dead in word and deed,
Ended scarce begun, yet still we hope
To add an extra twist to Time’s short rope,
Expressing trust which on itself does feed,
Energy recycling. Great our need,
Never flags, grows greater, while we grope
New yardsticks more secure, for seldom Pope
Imam or preacher can in conscience lead,
Nor can sham shaman really draw a bead
Exact ‘twixt Hell and Heaven. Few can cope!
Their lives are lonely interludes which slope
Year after year towards the grave, their seed
Too thinly scattered, and their barren breed
With other worries blessed, which telescope.
One sighs while lonely hearts in silence bleed …

The Sun Burns East to West
The Sun Burns East to West
(Earth’s Creation to the end of an Ice Age)
© 2008 (Jim Sularz)
Sun’s first rise over life-less skies,
the Earth cools, and the waters pool -
the Sun burns East to West.
And the planet’s broken plates quake and move.
Lightning strikes, the waters stir,
and the bonds of life begin to churn -
the Sun burns East to West.
And the waters swirl in a living urn.
Strange aquatic things, they all evolve,
some spiny finned, start to crawl -
the Sun burns East to West.
And they slowly stretch erect and tall.
Eons past where the cunning reign, a savage place,
with small sized brains -
the Sun burns East to West.
And the dead surrender their twisted remains.
An asteroid streaks from the sky, blocks out the Sun,
cause most to die -
the Sun burns East to West.
And all in a blink of Time’s eye.
Footprints in stone, some on mountainsides,
make it clear that rocks don’t lie -
the Sun burns East to West.
And the Fossils always tell the Time.
Eons past and Eons more, the fittest evolves,
and Man is born -
the Sun burns East to West.
And the early brain, once fast asleep,
begins to dream and mourn.
The first million years, Man lives in fear, learns to hunt,
invents the spear -
the Sun burns East to West.
And migrates to claim the vast frontiers.
Tools from stone and controlled fire, creates language,
that shake Man’s empire -
the Sun burns East to West.
And splash Cave paintings with Human inspire.
Life-times of hunter-gathering,
and story-telling in the dark -
the Sun burns East to West.
And a World spins with a Million hearts.
The Earth starts to warm, the oceans rise,
and the waters shape the lands -
the Sun burns East to West.
And when an Ice Age ends, then comes, the Age of Man.

Vast Times And Vast Spaces
VAST TIMES AND VAST SPACES
Vast times and vast spaces
Preceded our being here
Vast times and vast spaces
Will be should we disappear-
Yet our hearts tell us
A revelation from God we be-
And wherever the Universe takes us
We’ll go on for Infinity.

The Man and the Flea
Whether on earth, in air, or main,
Sure ev'ry thing alive is vain!
Does not the hawk all fowls survey,
As destin'd only for his prey?
And do not tyrants, prouder things,
Think men were born for slaves to kings?
When the crab views the pearly strands,
Or Tagus bright with golden sands,
Or crawls beside the coral grove,
And hears the ocean roll above,
'Nature is too profuse,' says he,
'Who gave all these to pleasure me!'
When bord'ring pinks and roses bloom,
And ev'ry garden breathes perfume,
When peaches glow with sunny dyes
Like Laura's cheek when blushes rise,
When with huge figs the branches bend,
When clusters from the vine depend,
The snail looks round on flow'r and tree,
And cries, 'All these were made for me!'
'What dignity's in human nature,'
Says Man, the most conceited creature,
As from a cliff he cast his eye,
And view'd the sea and arched sky!
The sun was sunk beneath the main,
The moon and all the starry train
Hung the vast vault of heav'n. The Man
His contemplation thus began:
'When I behold this glorious show,
And the side watry world below,
The scaly people of the main,
The beasts that range the wood or plain,
The wing'd inhabitants of air,
The day, the night, the various year,
And know all these by heav'n design'd
As gifts to pleasure human kind,
I cannot raise my worth too high;
Of what vast consequence am I!'
'Not of th'importance you suppose,'
Replies a Flea upon his nose;
'Be humble; learn thyself to scan;
Know, pride was never made for Man.
'Tis vanity that swells thy mind.
What, heav'n and earth for thee design'd!
For thee! made only for our need,
That more important Fleas might feed.'
Poor Earth
It is not heaven: bitter seed
Leavens its entrails with despair
It is a star where dragons breed:
Devils have a footing there.
The sky has bent it out of shape;
The sun has strapped it to his wheel;
Its course is crooked to escape
Traps and gins of stone and steel.
It balances on air, and spins
Snared by strong transparent space;
I forgive it all its sins;
I kiss the scars upon its face.

A black box
somewhere in my frame
a black box that clocks
my every heartbeat
every wink of the eyes
every single hair that sprouts
but sadistically conceals
all the vital numbers from me
somewhere in my frame
a black box that counts
every of my pores
everybody i am going to meet
and the exact second i am going
to kick the bucket but allows not a single
shard of light to escape the stasis, the black hole

Life
(words & music by milete)
Somewhere out in empty space,
Long before the human race,
Something stirred,
A vast and timeless source began,
Intelligence was born and then,
There was the world,
Powers filled the universe,
Matter formed and broke the curse,
Of nothingness,
Love became an ageless soul,
Nature reached her highest goal,
And breathed the breath of life,
Everlasting life.
Well creatures come from out of sight,
Daylight came from in the night,
And all was good,
Life became a masterplan,
Love produced the perfect man,
That understood,
The image of the makers word,
Worshipped him with all he had,
But then one day,
From in the depths an evil seed,
Grew and manufactured greed,
That changed the way of life,
Everlasting life,
Oh the loving power looked and saw,
Inside the heart of man a flaw,
Began to grow,
Well, the fires of hell began to burn,
And so he sent his chosen son,
To let us know,
That love had surely made us all,
And hate would surely make us fall,
So from the cross,
Well he showed the world that dreadful day,
That love could be the only way,
Or all is lost of life,
Everlasting life,
For life is love,
And love is life.

Remember September's Embers 1564 Current Version
Another autumn afternoon's rune link
Nods breeze goodbye to Virgo. Libran van
Offers solace seeing sunlight shrink
Towards millenia lost millenia scan.
Hope's rising generation watches sink,
Ending, one strong before its seed began,
Re-editing: 'I am because I think'.
September boughs bow to October's plan
Extending Indian summer interlink,
Perpetuate spin cycle's song to fan
The amber umber fires Fate's inks imprint.
EMBers glow. Time's treadmill's subtle span
Ends here, weaves gilt edged leaves for Winter's tale,
Rime Jack Frost cool spool pools through sonnet's tail.

Half Breed (Who I Am)
Do not judge or condemn me
for this is who I am
I'm exactly who our Creator
said He wanted me to be
creating me into this man
out of his own image He made me
Through His eye's He made me see
and gave me but only one destiny
one that I know I must journey
it was all part of His plan
to make me just who I am
a half breed Native American
My blood flows of my ancestors
on their path I will walk forever
with my heart pure and strong
and wisdom to know right from wrong
it beats the drum of their song
not as a full blood Indian
but a half breed Native American

Take the human race to new heights of sophistication
Nature blessed me with
Great many things
The one gift I rate quite high is
That
You came in my life as an offspring
You gave me
All those pleasures
Unknown to me
Prior to your arrival
Your each movement was a marvel
Your each stage of growth was a milestone
Your each progress was an ecstasy
The first clear word spelt out by you
Was no less cheering than
What all great musicians would have done
In a soothing harmony
Your first independent step
Made me feel that I landed on the moon
Your first declaration that
You felt hungry
Made me feel
That a most sensitive kid is getting groomed
On your first day in the school
I was rehearsing
To welcome a genius back home
Your first flawless recitation of a rhyme
Elated me to that high
That I was creating a great actor
When you first located the
Lost-for-long key bunch
I saw in you a world class detective
Each first of your progressive step
Made me more and more proud
And wonder more and more
You continue to remain a pride
And you will ever be my pride
Even your dismissal and disapproval of my
Age-experience-biased views
Leave me to wonder how
Smart you are proving
I get amazed at each step of yours
And you remain a pride
The one thing I would pray the almighty
Is that
Let the admiration at the progress
Of my genetic down stream
Remain ever till that time I depart
Giving way for
A better carved genetic order
To step in
And take the human race
To new heights of sophistication

Author notes
Although this is shown as a double mirrored retourne the poem has been framed so as to alternate each and every line within any given stanza... although only in four cases can the acrostic palindrome EMIT TIME run throughout.
The Mirror effect enables the poem to be read top down TIME or bottom up EMIT - The Retourne is of course only mirrored in the mirror if one reads bottom up.
This offers a possibility of 4 x 4 x 12 x 64 combinations

In the Vastness of God’s Love
In the vastness of our God, as we are lead with staff and rod,
We’re triumphant in many ways, in all our nights and our days.
Lead through the darkest night, in the vastness of God’s Light,
And God’s guidance in our days, fills us with a joy and praise.
In the vastness of God’s Love, guided from His throne above,
He lovingly guides me and you, on the earth through all we do.
His Love’s an endless source, of full assurance on any course,
Any course men take in life, when they’re lead by Jesus Christ.
God’s Love is unchanging too, as He guides both me and you,
Uncompromising as it is vast, God’s love for us will surely last.
For us it began on the cross, when Christ died for sinners lost,
And it is His Love from Calvary, which will see us into Eternity.
The love of God sure and vast, was for all men at Calvary cast,
God’s love unmatched by anyone; the Love of God’s only Son.
Who came to earth for us all, to redeem man from Adam’s fall,
Saving sinners like you and me, and providing us, life eternally.
Through that selfless sacrifice, God’s Only Son paid the price,
The love displayed on Calvary, by Jesus Christ has set us free,
Saving us from sin and death, while granting us Eternal Breath,
And God’s Love that is so vast, will through all of eternity last.

Who gives you the right to come here and tell me
I have to leave this place my home
To you its a jungle, to me its a kingdom
Where (my) people are free there to roam
Born with the stars we are happy and peaceful
til now we were left undisturbed
But you rupture the forests our gardens
And fill them with filth from your cities unheard
Savage, who is savage
Leave your morals, stake your claim
Savage, you are savage
Modern man can take the blame
You poisoned my tribe with civilized progress
Baptizing our blood with disease
You christened our bodies with sadness and suffering
Saying then that your God is well-pleased
What have we done to deserve such injustice
Explain to us please if you can
But you cant, no you cant, we can see it in your eyes
Of us both whos the primitive man
Savage, who is savage
Leave your morals, stake your claim
Savage, you are savage
Modern man can take the blame
You poisoned my tribe with civilized progress
Baptizing our blood with disease
You christened our bodies with sadness and suffering
Saying then that your God is well-pleased
What have we done to deserve such injustice
Explain to us please if you can
But you cant, no you cant, we can see it in your eyes
Of us both whos the primitive man
Savage, savage
Savage, savage
Whos the savage
Modern man
Whos the savage
Modern man
Beyond the realms of death
He had enough
He couldnt take anymore
Hed found a place
In his mind and slammed the door
No matter how they tried
They couldnt understand
They washed and dressed him
Fed him by hand
Yeah! Ive left the world behind
Im safe here in my mind
Free to speak with my own kind
This is my life, this is my life
Ill decide not you
Withdrawn hed sit there
Stare blank into space
No sign of life
Would flicker on his face
Until one day he smiled
It seemed as though with pride
The wind kissed him
Goodbye - and then he died
Yeah! Ive left the world behind
Im safe here in my mind
Free to speak with my own kind
This is my life, this is my life
Ill decide not you
Keep the world with all its sin
Its not fit for livin in
Yeah! I will start again
It can take forever, and ever, and ever
And ever, but Ill still win.
How many like him,
Are there still
But to us, all
Seem to have lost the will
They lie in thousands
Plagued and lost
Is nothing worth this bitter cost
Yeah! Ive left the world behind
Im safe here in my mind
Free to speak with my own kind
This is my life, this is my life
Ill decide not you
Keep the world with all its sin
Its not fit for livin in
Beoynd the realms of death.

Preface to God's Determinations Touching His Elect
Infinity, when all things it beheld
In Nothing, and of Nothing all did build,
Upon what base was fixed the lath wherein
He turned this globe and rigalled it so trim?
Who blew the bellows of His furnace vast?
Or held the mold wherein the world was cast?
Who laid its cornerstone? Or whose command?
Where stand the pillars upon which it stands?
Who laced and filleted the earth so fine,
With rivers like green ribbons smaragdine?
Who made the seas its selvedge and it locks
Like a quilt ball within a silver box?
Who spread its canopy? Or curtains spun?
Who in this bowling alley bowled the sun?
Who made it always when it rises set,
To go at once both down, and up to get?
Who the curtain rods made for this tapestry?
Who hung the twinkling lanterns in the sky?
Who? Who did this? Or who is He? Why, know
It's only Might Almighty this did do.
His hand hath made this noble work which stands,
His glorious handiwork not made by hands.
Who spake all things from nothing; and with ease.
Can speak all things to nothing, if He please.
Whose little finger at His pleasure can
Out mete ten thousand worlds with half a span:
Whose Might Almighty can by half a looks
Root up the rocks and rock the hills by the roots.
Can take this mighty world up in His hand,
And shake it like a squitchen or a wand.
Whose single frown will make the heavens shake
Like as an aspen-leaf the wind makes quake.
Oh, what a might is this Whose single frown
Doth shake the world as it would shake it down?
Which All on Nothing fet, from Nothing, All:
Hath All on Nothing set, lts Nothing fall.
Gave All to nothing-man indeed, whereby
Through nothing-man all might him glorify.
In Nothing then embossed the brightest gem
More precious than all preciousness in them.
But nothing-man did throw down all by sin:
And darkened that lightsome gem in him.
That now his brightest diamond is grown
Darker by far than any coal-pit stone.
