Who's Stronger? You Or Me? (Give Up Smoking poem)
Some try to gave up smoking, reducing Cancer's grip -
Avoiding the future choking as health conditions slip.
My father died some time before and I remembered well...
For Cancer's curse we daren't ignore - it's like a witch's spell!
One day there came a change of heart... The weed outlived its joy.
Though once thought elegant and smart, the heart it can destroy.
Yes, heart and lungs, our breath, our life, our essence here on Earth!
Why risk the pain, the grief, the strife? Is that what we deserve?
I saw my father's picture through the smoke that I exhaled...
This man died, aged seventy-two - at last his strength had failed.
I held the cigarette on high, and asked dramatically,
A bold decision drawing nigh, 'Who's stronger? You or me? '
From that day on, I changed inside - now smoke's not in my eyes!
What use is strength if not applied? Yet when it is... it's wise!
Fifty-a-day! And then no more! A change of heart, indeed!
And with this poem I implore... Give up the gruesome weed!

You Take Puffs, My Dears!
Smoking and Cholesterol are close friends
going synergy with lung cancer
and the heart diseases,
equip their hands with knives and guns
to threat, hit and shoot
and lead the gentry to knock
on the doors of mortality.
The off-springs of the smokers
tumble at the gate of morbidity
due to second-hand smoke
and their cognitive skills
go down with scarce oxygen.
Nicotine gallops the rate of heart-beat
and gives a red-carpet welcome to stress in men
but reduces the beats to enhance B.P in women.
The smokers are at the risk of cardiac-crisis
and the depression leads them to be at cancer-risk
with declining strength of killer-cells,
who move with surveillance cameras
for detecting the perilous cancers.
Why then the youth and sooth-sayers
take puffs often to compromise
their health and put it in hand-cuff?
The insurers will take to heels
if you approach them for health coverage?

Purple Heart
As I sit and wait
I can't rest my head
I light my fire
as I smoke another cigarette
your want everything
but you break apart
there's no compromise
inside your purple heart
inside your purple heart
iside your purple
inside your purple heart
I smoke another cigarette
inhale it into my lungs
yes it takes my life away
and then it turns around
oh

Smokin The Herb Again
Yo yo yo, yo, yo yo what
Smoking
Were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Damn, I really wish I could find my sack man
Must have got eaten by pac-man
If I had it I could smoke again
Smoke with my friends to the very end
But now Im trying to comprehend
Whens the next time that Ill smoke again
I need to know, please tell when will we smoke again
I got a buddy, his name is ted
Hes got a problem going through his head
He doesnt know how to puff puff give
But I like so Ill teach him and Ill let him live
Everyday we teach him right
When he divides, we have to fight
But at the end of the trying day
We says its ok and we puff away
Just the other night, I saw you, you were smokin not sharing and being tight
But thats ok, you are my friend, well smoking until the very end
The lessons that we put out, we order you to try it out
Its nice to smoke, yea thats what were all about
Smoking
Were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Hey, ho, hey ho, hey, ho, hey, ho, hey, ho, hey, ho
I smoke, you smoke, we smoke, they smoke, smoking everywhere
I smoke, you smoke, we smoke, they smoke, smoking all together
Smoking
Were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again
Were smoking, were smoking, were smoking the herb again

Rest Of My Life
Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life you can find me postin on my porch
Tokin my pipe-Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see some people gave in but I aint
Given up the fight Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life find me old postin on my porch
Tokin on my pipe Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see Im in love with mary jane im
Gonna make her my wife
Sometimes I wanna get high travel up away to the beautiful skies
Float away and hope to never come down hope to see the day that I never come down
But what goes up is always bound to fall
Ill Im trying to say is that I live my life raw
Im gonna smoke week the rest of my life and give all I got till the day that I die.
Ya!
Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life you can find me postin on my porch tokin my
Pipe-Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see some people gave in but I aint given up
The fight Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life find me old postin on my porch tokin on
My pipe Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see Im in love with mary jane Im gonna
Make her my wife
When I look in the mirror I feel so low
I see my eyes and I feel the glow
I know I can make do lets bless the sole
Show my love and let myself go wow
Everybody knows that I spit these flows and I drink my beer smoke my weed
But my heads in the clear
Show your love respect the one your dreaming of.
Let us plant trees that bear positive fruits that enlighten our minds to the deepest roots all
The way to the core where the soul can stay true where I can walk free with a joint in my hand
And I can plant plants right upon my land help em understand these are natures laws my creator
Had visions in the things he saw yeah he saw yeah my creator had visions in the things he
Saw yeah
Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life you can find me postin on my porch tokin my
Pipe-Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see some people gave in but I aint given up
The fight Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life find me old postin on my porch tokin on
My pipe Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see Im in love with mary jane Im gonna
Make her my wife
Now when the love is lost and your spirits are low
The worlds closing in around you got no place to go
Done all that you could to ease and please another soul
And in the end youre in the cold, another sad story told
Thats why I make my own decisions on how Im liven
Try to get by with the knowledge that Im given
Cant make me believe cause a tree is a tree
And when my soul bleeds, the color that Im spillin is green
Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life you can find me postin on my porch tokin my
Pipe-Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see some people gave in but I aint given up
The fight Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life find me old postin on my porch tokin on
My pipe Im gonna smoke weed for the rest of my life see Im in love with mary jane Im gonna

Mom's Cancer
The day I found out the truth
My mom was going to die of cancer
It blew my heart away
It was hard to see my dad cry all that time
I hardly remember my mom
But I have always loved her, even though she's not here today.
This is a lyric poem, and I wrote of my mom because she died of cancer when I was 4, and I miss her a lot...

My dear cigarette
My dear cigarette
Now I shall have to
Depart from you
I have realized
Your company is not
Good for me
In the disguise
Of a friend
You are an enemy
To me
I candidly admit
When I was alone
You gave me company
When I was tense
You relaxed me
When I used to drink
You increased my
Pleasure
When I was young
With you, I felt modern
All said and done
You damaged my lungs
Your smoke causes
Irritation too many
Damages their health
As it damaged mine
Kills people before time
Your smoke is
No less than a fire
Which burns?
A person from inside
I do not want
Others to accept
Your gift of cancer
As I did
Now I bid
Farewell to you

I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again
I always heard that his herb was top shelf
I just couldn't wait to find out for myself
Don't knock it till you tried it, well I tried it my friend
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
I learned a hard lesson in a small Texas town
He fired up a fat boy and he passed him around
The last words I spoke before they tucked me in
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
My party's all over before it began
You can pour me some old whiskey river my friend
But I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
I hopped on his old bus, the Honeysuckle Rose
The party was Vegas, it was after the show
Alone in the front lounge, just me and him
With one parting puff grime creeper set in
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
My party's all over before it began
You can pour me some old whiskey river my friend
But I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
Now we're passing the guitar, telling good jokes
I know ones a coming cause I'm smelling smoke
No I do not partake, I just let it pass by
With a smile on my face and a great contact high
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
My party's all over before it began
You can pour me some old whiskey river my friend
But I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
In the fetal position with drool on my chin
I messed up and smoked weed with Willie again

Stand Up To Cancer
The human body's all we are
Till we explore this life,
It doesn't matter, near or far,
We find both joy and strife,
Such that we learn from history
How life was lived before
And from statistics we can see
Something we can't ignore...
The world is changed each time we smile
And also when we cry,
But no-one wants to face the trial
When Cancer comes close by...
Though Doctors treat and Nurses soothe
And families make a fuss,
The whole world needs to know the truth...
The future's up to us...
How precious life has always been,
Donations prove that's true,
Research helps Man to intervene,
So credit where it's due...
Prevention is the target still,
Till then, one thing's unsure,
When Cancer comes to make us ill,
Are we part of the cure?
What if we give before instead?
What if we donate now?
What if we give in time ahead
By simply asking how?
What if together money's raised
So Cancer's on the run?
Perhaps that's how we'll be amazed,
The day we think as one...
That's why support for charities
Is thought to be sublime,
Such that we share some hope, some peace,
Perhaps some extra time...
Since Cancer harms both young and old,
Beyond each smoker's brand,
It's up to us, be brave, be bold
And thus to take a stand...

My Mom's Cancer
My Mom's Cancer
The day I found out the Truth
about my Mom dieing of Caner,
It hurt me so bad and tore my heart apart,
because there was nothing else they cud do for her,
It was so hard to see my whole family crying but at least we were all there for my Mom.
I sat by her side each day and told her I loved her and she would always be in my heart,
and she wud turn to me and smile.
Then God took her, and at least she isn't suffering nemore,
and she is at peace with her pain and suffering.
I will alway's luv her and miss her....

Loves About To Change My Heart
I never needed someone
cos I always led a life of my own
Never waited for the ring of the phone
Never had anyone here
When I got home
But loves about to change my heart
Im waiting for the doorbell to chime
When I always lived one day at a time
I thought that I was getting on fine
Never felt I was alone
til you change your mind
Loves about to change my heart
Could a day be so long
When I always felt secure and so strong
And all the time as I went along
Never thought I would desire
So much to belong
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change my heart, ooh
Never ever thought the sky was so blue
Never ever thought Id feel so new
Always thought Id know what to do
But I guess I wasnt counting on you
What did I know
I always felt so much on control
I thought Id make it all on my own
Never thought I would forget
All I have known
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change, change, change
My heart...

Don't Know When
Don’t know when
she said
but as she spoke
her breath rose
like cigarette smoke
in the morning air
and it fascinated you
more than the words
like when your father
blew smoke rings for you
as some kind
of cheap entertainment
but
she said
it will happen
I promise you
and your lack
of response
still gazing
at her breath rising
made her repeat
don’t know when though
and jabbed
at your chest
with her finger
oh ok
you said
coming back
to the moment
her blue eyes
fixed on you
the depth of them
like pools
of blue water
and oh how
to drown there
the thought arose
wanting the when
to be
as soon as
and the image
of her back then
with her eyes
and smile
and that way
she had
of bringing life
to a dull day
like some
top notch dancer
not knowing then
of her death
years later
of cold creeping cancer.

A Filipino Fed Up In Chicago
AND so one day he got fed up
Worrying about his bills
Light, cell phones,
Apartment rents
Meals and what to eat
Next month
No money to
Send to the
Philippines
There is no work coming
And the old man he took care of
Died a month ago
Bad luck
He is vacant
He could not go to the malls
There is no money left for the week
And there is no work coming
No one is offering to help
And he worries
About his telephone bills
His credit card
His rent
His SSS
His unrenewed passport
His expiring visa
His debts
One day he goes outside
It is quite cold
Colder now
The snow is coming
He smokes his cigarette packs on the park
A middle-aged American woman stares and tells her
“Smoking is bad for your health
You are polluting the earth”
Just a little advice
But his head is hot and
Hot temper is what is steaming inside
He is fuming mad to that middle aged American woman
He is also fuming mad about
Himself to be honest
About it
“Shit shit shit, I smoke if I want to
I use my own money to kill myself
F###k YOU!
Mind your own American business
In this free country I can smoke anytime I want! ”.
He knows how to curse now
In the most American way
For just a year or two
he was a timid Filipino
he was the meek citizen
of this world
And he smokes all day in the park
his packs of cigarettes in the park
Puffing and puffing and breathing and breathing
Releasing all his dismays in cold air
He can see his bleeding heart
His cursing
“f##k you! ”
'f$$k you! '
in the freezing air
his cursing is a big bold font
in the atmosphere
His cell phone does not have any load
And he cannot call anybody
And he remembers well the latest old
Jewish rich man which he took care of
who died a month ago
One day the old man fell on the floor
The one who shitted him all day
he still could remember
fully well
all the old man's yell
spell: F$$K YOU! '
The old man could not stand
back
He was big, fat, and dying
He did not help him stand
He merely stood there askance
And the old man shouted and growled
“Shit shit you Filipino
Help me stand from here”
'F$$K YOU FILIPINO! '
And he said
WITH ALL STRICT COMPOSURE
SO SURE OF HIMSELF NOW
with a little authoritative
moral advice
like he was a wise man
“Rich American now is the time
for you to
Command all your mighty dollars
your mighty dollars
your mighty dollars
your mighty dollars
To help you rise and make
You, young and strong again! ”
The old Jewish rich man died
Due to cardiac arrest.
And now he is out of job
No money
No promises
And one day now
He finds himself smoking himself to death
On this cold dark wildlife park south of
Chicago.

You Changed My Life
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Now the nature of man
Is to beg and to steal
Id do it myself
Its not so unreal
The call of the wilds
Forever at my door
Want me to fly like an eagle
Being chained to the floor, but
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Eating with the pigs
Off a fancy tray
I was bold, I was looking good
And to have a nice day
It all seemed so proper
And so elite
Eating absolute garbage
While being so discreet.
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
You were glowing in the light
Being peaceably calm
Well, how often does a man dance
To the beat of the balm?
Your eyes were on fire
Your feet were of brass
In a world that you made
You were an outcast
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Truce makers and partakers
Of every selfish whim
Her running to meet me running to her
And you running back to him
Their destruction of my confidence
Was like a sharpness of the tongue
I said: make my faith greater
But I was a little high strung
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life

The Day I Died
The air was close, but it would not rain
The day I died.
And smog enshrouded Gotham town
The day I died..
I should have stayed in Oceanside
The day I died.
Instead of a hellish subway ride
The day I died.
It started with a stabbing pain
The day I died.
Then waves of nausea deep inside
The day I died.
I fell to earth, I could not breathe
The day I died.
Co workers rushing to my side
The day I died.
Sirens scream on distant streets
The day I died.
bringing hosts of E.M.T.’s
The day I died..
Too late for me, this proud heart fails
The day I died.
I thought” This is the last of Earth”
The day I died.

Cancer For The Cure
The kids are diggin up a brand new hole
Where they put their deadbeat mom
Grandpas happy watching video porn
With the closed caption on
And father knows best
About suicide and smack
Well, hee hee hee

Cancer for the cure
Buckle up and endure now baby
Cancer for the cure

But he was never here in the first place
A heart attack may be something to fear
But take a look out back
cause courtney needs love
And so do i

Buckle upand endure now sweet thing

Letter to Kimani, my son
I am writing you to let you know
My son how much I love you so
I miss you and I wish I were there
For you I will always care
I would change time if I could
To mend my mistakes yes I would
I wish I could make things right
For your love I will always fight
My boy you are so smart
That’s why you are dear to my heart
So far you are now from me
A great man you shall one day be
As much as I try and try
Your picture brings tears to my eyes
Time stands still while I look
My feelings I could fill a book
Your voice I sometimes here on the phone
But the pain still won’t leave me alone
A thousand words can’t say what I feel
The pains I have just won’t heal
I love you more than words can tell
I wish I had a wishing well
I would wish away all the sorrow
I’d wish you a brighter tomorrow
You deserve better than what I did for you
I did my best that’s all I could do
God bless the day you came to me just as you are
You are my guiding light and my lucky star
The things you do are so clever
My love for you will change never
So far from his father my lovable boy
Your light brings me so much joy
No matter where, no matter when
For my love you can always depend
No matter the pain nor the strife
I will love you more than life
I love you more than I could ever show
I love you more than you will ever know
Without you life is no longer fun
You are my life, my legacy, and my son

A Tribute to Terry Fox (in iambic dimeter)
While just a teen,
And Cancer struck,
They took a leg
To save his life!
He liked to run
And loved to win;
But Cancer came
To play a game!
Now Earth was hell!
Yet, Fox would run
A marathon
For Cancer’s sake!
His aim was high-
To raise a fund
For Cancer’s fight,
Despite his plight!
But half-way through,
His Cancer spread
To both his lungs,
Despite the drugs!
He covered miles,
Before Life’s end;
Undaunted till
The last, he stayed!
Posthumously,
He turned so great;
His one-legged walk
For Cancer’s sake
Earned him a name
Indelible!
He is ‘alive’!
His run goes on
All o’er the world
In Cancer’s name!
The world had lost
A lad so young
Courageous
Exemplary!

Healer of hearts
Healer of hearts
Father, Gracious Father and healer of hearts
I pray for your mercy and strength to cover me
Through this difficult time
Oh Healer of hearts, help me seek peace in You
And though things threaten to rock my foundation
Precious Father hold me close and keep me in You
Our God of infinite love and understanding
Take my aching heart and soothe it with Your promise
That what I feel now, is not the bearing of my own doing
Oh healer of hearts, keep me safe in You
Even if others may threaten to hurt me
Awesome Father I trust in You
Our cornerstone, our strength in all
I turn to You Father when the memories hurt my soul
When tides bring in despair and worthlessness
Oh Healer of hearts, remove them from my being
That I do not look inside of me for blame
Precious Father, in You I am free
Father, dear Father, today I stand at Your mercy
Asking for renewal, revival of new in me
Take my heart, take my soul, surround me with grace
Oh Healer of hearts, renew me in the spirit of hope
And the strength to put behind the things of the past
My Father, my Father, the healer of my heart.

Dead Boys Poem
The child sits and weeps,
How could this be all that matters,
Why did this have to hurt so deep,
How could this be life?
The child sits with the pain inside,
He sits with his heart in his chest,
‘How could I have died? ’
Is all he thinks, he forgets the rest.
The child’s eyes closed so tight,
His fists clenched so strong
He feels the night,
He knows everything that happened was wrong.
The child stands and looks into the houses light
He stares at not the window,
Not at the sight,
Yet only for the weeping widow.
The child stands holding the gun,
The gun he died holding,
As he remembers his father killing him, his only son
He remembers his father scolding.
He knows he took a life,
Yet he knows his father took his,
He remembers not the taking of his father’s life,
Only the pain of his father stealing his.
His eyes so dark,
His mind so lost,
His hand tracing deaths mark,
As he remembers it’s cost.
He remembers the scene, the time,
He remembers the look in his father’s face,
He remembers doing the crime,
He remembers seeing the pain in his father’s face.
But then his memory stops,
And reality takes place,
For this is when he dropped,
This is when life left his face.
He walks past,
To eternity; to roam
Of all his memories this shall be his last
For this is the dead boy’s poem.

Sonnet: Smoking Kills
He learnt to smoke from adolescent stage;
Yet, kicked the habit never, thereafter;
Now, he is only fifty years of age;
But gone completely is his life's laughter.
He smoked in chains and puffed smoke-rings away;
He is now chained to his smoking habit!
He sits now counting the hours in a day!
And feels his life, ebbing out, bit by bit.
His Lungs have become Cancerous by now;
The blood he coughed, revealed that Death was nigh;
There's no cure; To destiny, he will bow;
This is the case of persons low or high.
Beware, O Man, your smoking can kill you!
Your near and dear ones and some others too.
