The Q and A Show
Sometimes I ask the Lord in prayers, What's the meaning of life?
I wonder what the Bible says about Man's pain and strife?
Sometimes I think I understand, at other times, I'm lost!
So many doctrines close at hand that followed Pentecost!
One preacher says I should be rich! Like Oliver, ask more!
Then suddenly, another hitch, one preacher says stay poor.
One says to tithe and give a tenth, another says a fifth!
I pray to God, Grant me the strength! The strength that I mite give!
Should I stay single or get wed? If children come, what then?
So many questions in my head and all beyond my ken!
I know... Take one day at a time. No need to know it all.
So much to learn, I know that I'm not likely to recall.
I'm like a sponge absorbing truth, if only someone knew!
If only someone had the proof, perhaps I'd have a clue.
If only Jesus told me stuff! I'd listen all day long.
Then I'd obey the God I love, by learning write from rong.

Lord Give Us The Strength
Lord Give Us The Strength.....,
To suppress our fears....,
Lord Give Us The Strength....,
To fight our tears....,
It's a rough, tough, world...,
Every day is a test...,
But powerful and proud...,
We’ll always do our best....,
Still more and more....,
We need your support....,
So Lord Give Us The Strength....,
Lord Give Us The Strength.
Lord Give Us The Strength.....,
To keep the faith….,
Lord Give Us The Strength....,
To conquer hate…,
It’s a harsh, cruel road…,
We travel through life…,
But we feel comfort….,
Guided by your light....,
Still on and on….,
We pray for your love....,
And to worship you....,
Is our sole intent......,
So Lord Give Us The Strength....,
Lord Give Us The Strength.

Preacher Man
(Gary Rossington-Johnny Van Zant-Rickey Medlocke-Hughie Thomasson)
You know i'm dirty because it's in me
Life's not easy
And it's the heart that i won't change
I wouldn't be the same
You see me one day and then the next day
I don't wanna play
I'm not the same dog you have known
It's not written in stone
Well am i right or wrong
Lookin' out for number one
I never stay too long
I'm there and then i'm gone
I'm not the preacher man
Oh can you understand
It's a game of win or lose
I've got an evil eye
You know sometimes i might lie
Oh i'm not the preacher man
Yeah-Yeah-Yeah
Saint was a sinner
Ain't he a winner
And did you hear him say
I didn't lie just as well
It's all in the head
Oh ain't it funny
How little money
Cheap talkin' honey
Can turn a sunny day to gray
Well am i right or wrong
Lookin' out for number one
I never stay too long
I'm there and then i'm gone
I'm not the preacher man
Oh can you understand
It's a game of win or lose
I've got an evil eye
You know sometimes i might lie
Oh i'm not the preacher man
Aah aah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Aah aah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
I'm not the preacher man
Oh can you understand
It's a game of win or lose
I got an evil eye
You know sometimes i might lie

I Dreamt
I dreamt that the LORD came to me
And a message he did give me.
In this dream:
I came upon the face of the LORD
Long before I was born.
He came and touched my soul
And made me completely whole.
He said: you are going down to earth
To this woman who will give you birth
She will show you all there is to know in life
who will show You how to bear the struggles and strife.
there is so much that you must learn
And many a life you must turn.
There are so many people who have gone astray
I need you to show the way.
Your mothers love will strengthen you every day
It’s a beautiful price that you will pay.
Strength from above and strength from below
We’ll show you the way you have to go.
She has prayed for you for many a year
Now it’s time for your love to share.
The love that she gives to you
Will help to see you through,
Open your heart to all that are around
They will come to you in leaps and bounds.
You will have a purity that every person
Will feel and see, this is the way that it must be.
In this dream I saw myself learning the bible
Although I had not opened up one in quite a while.
I started to read the stories of his life
And the miracles he created, and lives that
Were turned around that were devastated.
Then I awoke and I felt empty inside
Tears rolling down my cheeks that I tried to hide.
I knew that it was a dream and that it could never
Happen to me, for it was something that I could not see.
And although I can’t recall the features of his face
FAITH, LOVE, HOPE, in me he did place.

Prayer for Ruby Lee
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know of this woman who needs your help in a bad way.
I have heard she is having a bad time, and her grand-daughter is there to stay
I don't know much about her Lord, all I know is her name is Ruby Lee
she needs a bit of your strength and love
so she can go home healthy and happy
I'm sure her family has been very stress and sleepless nights
I ask you Lord for peace and strength till, the day her family reunites
Please give Ruby Lee strength for her body to heal
and for her family, I ask your grace on them please reveal

Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man
(Dolly Parton)
Daddy was an old time preacher man
He preacher the word of God throughout the land
He preached so plain a child could understand
Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man
He told the people of he need to pray
He talked about God's wrath and judgement day
He preached about the great eternity
He preached hell so hot that you could feel the heat
Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man
Aunt Leanona would get up to testify
And we'd sing "In The Sweet By And By"
The we'd sing "I'm On My Way To Canaan Land"
Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man
Revivals and camp meetings went for weeks
Folks came from all around to hear him preach
Daddy said if one is saved it's worth it all
But the aisles were always filled at altar calls
Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man
Daddy worked for God but asked for no pay
For he believed that God provides a way
We never had a lot but we got by
Guess it's 'cause the Lord was on Daddy's side
Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

A Sunday Prayer For Our Lost Sisters And Brothers
Dear Father God, once again I come to you on a Sunday morning.
Father please know that I love you dearly, I respect your name,
I love your son Jesus. Father know that I give thanks for all that you have given, your wondrous views, your precious animal kingdom, the miracle of childbirth and more.
Father this Sunday I would like to focus on praying for your children who deny you, those who say you don’t exist, those that
refuse to acknowledge you in any way. Yes Lord I pray for them
for they are lost and as your son said a long time ago, “they no not what they do”. Father cleanse their minds, open their eyes and show them the way to the truth. Father speak to them, walk with
them.
Father these people are lost, misguided and need you in their lives,
although they may never ask you Lord, give me the knowledge,
wisdom, patience and strength to know how best to minister to
these non believers. Use me Lord as a vessel to deliver your
word so they may understand there is no other that comes before
you.
Lord we all have our problems, we are all sinners, I have sinned
and still have weaknesses, but Lord I would never deny you, I
get my strength from you, I know when I have fallen you will be
there to pick me up and start me once again on the right track. I
know you will comfort me in my saddest hours. I know I will
here the whispers of your precious voice, I know you love me, I
have faith in you and I trust only in you and not in man. I belive
only in you and not in man, I know I can deal with any situation
with you by my side. Father I want these people to know you as
I do.
I ask this prayer this Sunday morning in the name of your precious
son Jesus. Thank you Father, Amen.

A Pastor's Prayer
'Please Lord, ' a Pastor's plea,
'Show me how to Shepard each of these.'
'Give me words when they are down,
That hope and peace may be found.'
On his knees, he shares his heart,
'Please use me, every part.'
'Nothing will I ever hold back,
Please make up for, where I lack.'
Use my mouth, to proclaim Your Word,
So truth may be told to all who have heard.
Use my eyes, to see those you love,
As You, mold them in Your Image above.
Use my ears, to listen to their needs,
Use my mind, … Show me how to lead.
Use my arms, in loving hugs,
For it is on Your heartstrings that they tug.
Use my laughter, in times of joy,
Use my hands, as I dedicate a new baby boy.
Use my heart, even though it may break,
As I say goodbye, to a long loved saint.
Give me strength, thru the day
And much forgiveness along the way.
For I am just a man, I make mistakes
Thank you for Your mercy and Your Grace.
You are my Father, Mentor, Savior, Friend,
Please stay with me until the end.
My body and soul I give to You,
Help me to live as You would do.
I am only an extension of Your hand
As I touch every woman, child and man.
I pray that thru this vessel they will see,
You, only Jesus, living thru me.

Philippians 4: 13
The strength to resist the night
The strength to endure the day
The strength to keep righteous paths in sight
The strength to take them without delay
The strength to find a purpose in life
The strength to find the truths it brings
The strength to kick away from strife
The strength to stabalize the rock it clings
The strength to light a friend’s day up
The strength to resist wrathful foes
The strength to fill a stranger’s dry cup
The strength to shun sin when it opposed
The strength to feel a injured man’s pain
The strength to hold a reject’s hand
The strength to act against any gain
The strength to love without demand
The strength to understand that our King
Has blessed us with more than we can contain
Therefore regardless what time may bring
The strength will continue to reign

Away In A Manger
(Traditional)
Away in a manger, no crib for his bed. The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay, the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes. But little Lord Jesus, no crying he makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky and stay by my side till morning is nigh.
Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care and fit us for heaven to live with thee there.
Away in a manger, no crib for his bed. The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay, the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

A Teacher's Prayer
Oh Lord - give me the strength to be a caring teacher,
Cognizant of all children who need a helping hand.
Give me the tolerance to assist those
Who are struggling to learn and understand.
May I lay aside my impatience,
And help those children who can not cope,
And let me ardently encourage those
Who came to me seeking hope.
When the rigors of teaching weigh me down,
So low that I need a supportive hand,
Till then, I pray, to show me the way
To serve all children the best that I can.

Lie Of All Lies
SOME YOUNG LADS SAT CHATTING MERRILY AND NOISILY WHEN A REVEREND PREACHER WALKED BY AND HE SAID TO THEM, WHAT BE THE CAUSE FOR THY NOISY CHATTER? HE ASKED AND THE CHILDREN REPLIED SAYING, PREACHER, WE HAVE PUT UP OUR SAVINGS FOR A WAGER! HE AMONGST US WHO TELLS THE GREATEST LIE WILL WIN THE WHOLE MONEY! THE PREACHER FROWNED AND SAID, LISTEN BOYS! IT IS NOT A GOOD THING TO TELL LIES! TAKE ME AS AN EXAMPLE! I HAVE NEVER TOLD A LIE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! STATED THE PREACHER! AND THE BOYS QUICKLY GOT UP, PACKED UP THE COINS ON THE FLOOR AND HANDED IT TO THE PREACHER SAYING, YOU WIN SIR! YOURS WAS THE BIGGEST LIE WE HAVE EVER HEARD!

Jesus Christ
Written by Woodie Guthrie
One, two, three, four
Well Jesus was a man
Who traveled through the land
A hard working man and brave
Well he said to the rich 'Give your money to the poor'
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ is his grave
Well he went to the preacher
He went to the law
And told them all the same
He said sell all your jewelery and give it to the poor
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
When Jesus came to town all the working folks around
Believed what he did say
Well the bankers and the preachers
They nailed him on a cross
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
And [hard] working people
They followed him around
They sung and shouted gay
Well the cops and the soldiers
They nailed him in the head
And they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Oh, hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Well this song was written in New York City
A rich man, preacher and slave
Well if Jesus was to preach while he preached in Galilee
They would lay Jesus Christ in his grave
One, two, three, four!
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
Hale, halelujah
For they layed Jesus Christ in his grave

Give Me Strength
This is my prayer to thee, my lord---strike,
strike at the root of penury in my heart.
Give me the strength lightly to bear my joys and sorrows.
Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service.
Give me the strength never to disown the poor or bend my knees before insolent might.
Give me the strength to raise my mind high above daily trifles.
And give me the strength to surrender my strength to thy will with love.

This Is For You!
As I paused within the present,
With the future on my heart,
The Saviour knew how much this meant
That I should do my part...
So Lord Jesus chose to give me,
So I could share with you...
Much more than this He shared with me,
For there was more to do...
I felt the leading of the Lord
To read a Bible verse,
God's Spirit granted me a sword,
His blessing not His curse
And skills were destined day-by-day
So I was well-equipped...
Forgiveness, too, if I should stray,
For many times I've slipped.
He said His grace would guide my prayers,
Towards my destiny...
To preach to paupers, millionaires
And those with eyes to see.
Across the world, the nations hear
God's word by day and night...
That's why the Lord is ever near,
My constant source of light...
Yes, I've been rich and I've been poor,
Yet God is in control...
And He's the One I'm living for,
Since Jesus saved my soul.
I've been to Israel, learnt a lot,
I know the Gospel's true...
When Jesus died, the Son of God
Told us, 'This is for you...'

Three Wooden Crosses
a farmer and a preacher a hooker and a teacher
Ridin on a midnight bus
bound for Mexico
one was headed for vacation
one for higher education
and two of them were searchin for lost souls
and that driver never ever saw the stop sign
and eighteen wheelers can't stop on a dime
Chorus:
there are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway
why there's not four of them heaven only knows
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you
It's what you leave behind you when you go
That farmer left his harvest
A hime and eighty acres
the faith and love for growing things in his young son's heart
and that teacher left her wisdom in the minds of lots of children
did her best to give em all a better start
and that preacher whispered, "can't you see the promise land"
as he laid his blood stained bible in that hooker's hand
Chorus
That's the story that our preacher told last Sunday
As he held that blood stained bible up for all of us to see
he said bless the farmer and the teacher and the preacher
who gave this bible to my momma who read it to me
there are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway
why there's not four of them
now I guess we know
it's not what it takes when you leave this world behind you
it's what you leave behind you when you go
there are three wooden crosses
on the right side of the highway...

Give A Hand, Take A Hand
I wish the world was run by all the little children
We could be happy once again
We wont hurt when were like little children
And we wont ever feel the pain
Now when my fight for life on earth is over
And I leave cause I cant stay
All my love belongs to you hereafter
And well all join hand another day
Evrybodys got to give a hand
Evrybodys got to take a hand
Evrybodys got t fall in love , yeah
To make evrybody understand
Evrybodys got to give , take a hand
I love you , yes I do
I told you a million times now
Now do you believe the words I say
All my life belongs to you hereafter
And well all join hands another day
Evrybodys got to give a hand
Evrybodys got to take a hand
Evrybodys got to fall in love , yeah
To make evrybody understand
Evrybodys got to give , take a hand
Evrybodys got to give a hand
Evrybodys got to take a hand
Evrybodys got to fall in love , yeah
To make evrybody understand
Evrybodys got to give, take a hand

For You are my Strength
A little prayer i whisper today,
To bless me with strength to follow your way...
Help me be strong and not fall for the wrong,
coz i am uncertain about life's journey that's long
give me the strength to wait at a length,
and a mind to be patient and not fall prey to what tempter's lend....
Help me to love and learn not to hate,
To be affecionate and caring to those you create...
For let me recall, that you are my all,
My strength will lie forevr in the joy of my Lord...

For A Friend
(released as b-side of we wait and we wonder cd single, 1994)
When I saw him last
He had that look in his eyes
I said, do you need to talk?
He said, no.
So I called him up, asked him again and I waited a while -
He began to speak, then he started to cry
You know some things are best left unspoken
And some things just never work out
And sometimes, seems you try and you try and whatever you do
Theres a fix that youre in, and you just cant get out
He said, i need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on
Though I didnt know what
I knew that something was wrong
But he still had his pride
Hed tell me in time
Well this feeling inside
Kept eating at me
I was losing a friend, and I had to know why
When I heard the voice on the phone, I knew it was bad news
So I rushed to be by his side
And we said goodbye for the last time
I gently hugged him, and kissed him goodbye
He whispered, i need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on.
We were always laughing
I just remember laughing, mama
We were always laughing
Oh I need your help, I need it now
Give me the strength to go on
Though as time goes by, and it all becomes clear
We can see the deceit, we see the lies
So I asked myself, over and over, and over again
What did they know? what did they hide?
Fools, leading the innocent blindly
Fools, turning away
And I know that
When I think of my friend with that look in his eyes
And if they told the truth, he might be here today
I need your help, I need it now
Just give me the strength to go on, on
I remember the laughing
We were always laughing
Oh no - its just strength we need now
Just the strength to go on...
