Phil Osopher
A certain Mister Osopher
Thought life was oh so grand,
Till something tragic did occur
Beyond what Phil had planned!
And all at once his jaw fell down
At what he saw that day
And from then on, Phil wore a frown,
Till God took it away...
Although God knew the reasons why
Life's not a piece of cake,
This man became so prone to sigh,
His soul began to ache...
Then came the ulcer, then the pain,
The irritant within...
This caused the man increasing strain,
He felt he couldn't win...
One day, Phil read a Bible verse,
'Cast all your cares on Him...'
By faith, he prayed God end the curse
And fill him to the brim...
That day, his frown began to fade,
His worry lines soon went,
His mirror showed him undismayed,
As if God was his friend...
His ulcer vanished, he relaxed,
Content to trust the Lord,
So that he felt no longer taxed,
Now God's grace was outpoured...
He preached the Word from that time on,
With stories from his life,
Of how God's light meant darkness gone,
Regardless of Man's strife.
That's why when Nature's might unfolds,
Man builds new homes again,
For once each man God's love beholds,
There's faith beyond our ken...
The centuries have proved this true,
No matter how we feel...
When Phil finds time to speak with you,
You'll see his faith is real...

Hickory Phil
In the land where the eagle flies over the dollar bill
Way back when the liberty tree was new
In a town by the sea
lived a man named Hickory Phil
A poet of much renowned was he
With his lustful tales of life and love
And haunting sea chanteys
And a dirty little limerick to give his fans a thrill
One day a judge came to see Hickory Phil
In that town by the sea
” Phil, sit and listen to me”
Phil sat and gave an ear
In that town by the sea
You must give up your lusty tales of life and love
And instead pray to the Lord above
For if you do not then I fear
You will no longer live in this town by the sea
Old Phil a clever man was he
To the judge he turned to speak
In that town by the sea
And spoke something quite unique
Dear God on high above
Please tell me of the girl I love
Please answer this one simple request
about her soft breasts
That I just want to get hold of

A Little Hope
They say that time is a great healer
But is that really true?
Does having faith in others
Mean they have faith in you?
Does hope and faith get misunderstood for each other?
To have more faith will we win?
To have more hope will we believe?
The truth to that is down to us,
If we believe in the thing's we know and trust
Then we will believe in them,
We have to have faith in ourselves to truly believe what is real,
We may find that the bible is our protector and believe that is true,
Only we can stand tall and all unite as one,
No one said there was no god!
But truly do we believe there is?
Do we know if god really cares?
Who knows that is where our faith to believe comes in,
We have the faith to believe he is and the hope he may help,
Do not give up on your faith and believes,
Faith leads to trust,
And without it we would be lonely,

The Paws That Refreshes
THE PAWS THAT REFRESHES
Edward Iacona
'I just love coming home to my Phil, '
She said, 'He waits for me at the door
'He wraps his arms around my neck
How could I ever be loved more? '
'He nuzzles me all over my face
He kisses and then nibbles my chin.
His affection will lift my spirit
No matter the poor mood I'm in.'
Is this what I really want to hear
While I'm trying to charm her in chat?
Then she finally reveals to me
She's talking about her beloved cat.
It's good to know that she likes affection.
Now my tactile senses are no longer flat.
And within my vivid imagination I think
She and I should try doing all that.
But I give some thought to how Phil acts
And there may be some things I'm forgettin'
If there's anything to re-incarnation there's links
To the Kabbalah or something Tibetan.
Now, I may not be completely correct
But such teachings may explain why.
Although her Phil is a feline right now
He may have once have been a guy.
Oh, what could poor Phil make of this
As he watches us passionately embrace and kiss?
Would his little cat mind still reminisce
About once being human and enjoying such bliss.
But for this cat some things have gone amiss
He offers up his opinion and he is not remiss.
Phil stomps away from this scene to dismiss
With a low growl and an audible hiss.

With A Little Faith
Let courage stir within your heart,
Let knowledge stay your friend,
Let wisdom from the Lord impart
What's needed till life's end...
Life's simply but a journey here,
A whistle-stop on tour,
It doesn't matter what the year,
For only God keeps score...
Let simple joys delight your soul,
Let others share your day,
Let confidence grant self-control
So you won't go astray...
Life's all we've got upon this Earth,
This world that spins in space,
Yet God has proved each life has worth,
If we but seek His face...
Let your thanksgivings make God proud,
Let kindness grow within,
Let little faith rise like a cloud
To overcome and win...
Life's truly meant for those who seek
The better part, no less,
With every single soul unique,
Their conquests to express...
By faith, by faith, by faith alone,
Believers battle on,
As if their hearts were strong as stone,
As if all doubts were gone...
Let little faith in little hearts
Transcend both good and bad,
For when each soul this world departs,
Our faith still makes God glad...

Groundhog Day 1 'The Legend of Punxsutawney Phil
Punxsutawney Phil, yes that's his name,
Predicting the weather is his game;
Phil knows how to call it, so rest your fears,
He's done it for a hundred n' twenty years.
They say that he's a loner, maybe a snob,
He hails from a place called 'Gobbler's Knob; '
He lives in a cave, and will never roam,
Except when he travels in his motor home.
All over the world, he's one of a kind,
Though imitators are never hard to find;
Punxsutawney's also a real heart breaker,
For the girls all love a weather maker.
He's quite a celebrity, you might say,
Even has his own 'Punxsutawney Day; '
He has a web site and fan club too,
Personal trainers, and a make-up crew.
He's had his breaks with TV and radio,
Even made an appearance on Oprah's show;
Yearly his town has a parade in his name,
Seems for Phil, there's no end to his fame.
He made his first forecast, or so they say,
In 1887, February's second day.
You might wonder, how Phil could live so long,
He drinks 'elixir of life' and takes it strong.
He speaks a strange language, but only to the ear,
Of the 'Circle' president, who's standing near;
He predicts the weather, that six weeks will bring,
Guiding us from the winter, up to spring.
He uses his shadow, that's how he knows,
Keeping us posted on upcoming snows;
He's 100 percent accurate, as records reveal,
Punxsutawney Phil, now he's the real deal!
So, if you plan to travel, through Pennsylvania land,
Why not visit this legend, and shake his hand?
But before you complete your travel log,
Check with Punxsutawney Phil, the weather groundhog.

Faith in God
No matter how things stay, God controls still!
No matter how gloomy, His Will is done;
No matter how things are, our faith must grow;
No matter how end comes, the Son will reign!
However stormy be the seas of life,
God brings the calm, and dawns a newer day!
However little joy or utter strife,
All things are transient, until God's Day!
But faith in God decides our successes;
It should not dwindle or lessen with time;
God forgives transgressions and excesses;
He wants our life on earth to be sublime!
None know the harvest-time for God's vineyard;
None know the needs of labourers till then;
God expects all to till His land and sow;
The greatest work man does is gain heaven!
Our faith in God must grow like mounds and hills;
God won't forsake the souls He made with love;
Though slow they seem, they surely grind, God's mills!
He watches every creature from above!
Let faith remain undiminished throughout life;
Let faith not waver with the winds of change;
Let faith not cease when come tough times and strife;
Let faith stay firm akin a mountain-range!

Old Town Types No. 6 - Flash Phil
Still I've the picture of him - Flash Phil Galloway;
In a shining dog-cart driving down the road;
Spanking ponies dashing by,
Running tandem, stepping high;
Silver-plated harness where the sunlight glowed.
Everybody waved to him - Kind Phil Galloway
Bright eye, curling hair, big blond moustache.
No man, in those feckless days,
Thought to curb his reckless ways:
'Right man for the district, sir; tho' just a trifle rash.'
Flash Phil Galloway owned a station property
Left him by his father, back in sixty-nine;
Owned a stretch of sheepland, too,
Left him by his Uncle Lou;
Owned his mother's big estate along the Ballantyne
Three tidy fortunes: and Phil upon a race day
Standing for a luncheon - frills and fancy grub.
'Champagne and caviar,
Every toff a big cigar,
All the tucker packed in ice! Oysters in a tub!'
Flash Phil Galloway, loaded down with mortgages,
Deep in mining ventures 'to make another rise.'
Debonair and reckless still
Generous - the same old Phil,
While kindly bankers were ready with supplies.
Bluff Phil Galloway chatting with the manager:
'Where do I sign this one? Read it? Haw, what rot!'
The banker, as he folds the deed:
'And how much, this time, will you need?'
Laughs Flash Phil Galloway, 'Gad! How much have you got?'
Old Phil Galloway, grey haired and garrulous,
Stopping old acquaintances along the city ways,
Hanging round the leading pub
Lounging by the Squatters' Club
Half-crowns changing hands 'for sake of olden days . . . .'
But I keep my picture of him - Flash Phil Galloway
In a shining dog-cart - I can see him still:
Spanking ponies dashing by,
Running tandem, stepping high;
Silver plated harness - 'Hey! Happy days, Phil!'

Worry
Friend worry is just Satan’s ploy, to rob you of your God given joy.
He may say that you have control, as he desires to ruin your soul.
Worry not; a command of The Lord, by many simply goes ignored.
Seek first The Kingdom of God, this He says with a confident nod.
Also seek His Righteousness, and He will fill your heart with bliss.
Seek Him first, my dear friend, and all will be yours come the end.
Your concerns to Him just release, and He’ll fill you with His peace.
His Peace that comes from above, comes with His unceasing Love.
Worrying friend will never achieve, what Satan leads you to believe
Not only is worry a waste of time, it robs you of your peace of mind.
Worrying will not add to your life, but fill your heart with undue strife,
Giving your heart unneeded grief, instead of delivering to you relief.
My friend, be not one of little faith, while you anxiously contemplate,
Fearing what may be next in life, which only adds to unneeded strife.
Think upon everything God does, to fill your heart instead with trust,
Christ at work in your daily deeds, is there supplying all your needs.
Look at all the birds up in the air, which feed and live without a care,
And how God clothes all the grass, which only for one season lasts.
The Lord who cares for all the earth, placed on you a special worth,
So friend, worry not about your life, simply give it all to Jesus Christ.

Dr. Phil was very helpful and caring. I believe he helped all of us there and watching how to better relate, understand, and communicate with our families and loved ones. Dr. Phil recommended reading my new book.

No Time To Worry
Now isn’t the time at all to worry, for The Lord is in no hurry,
To achieve all that must be done, for The Glory of His Son;
God knows just what I need, and God’s Truths I must heed,
He’ll accomplish His will for me, so the eyes of all may see.
I must not be impatient at all, for what appears big is small,
For God’s ways are not mine, and all is done in God’s time;
All my needs are not ignored, to be addressed by my Lord,
In His promises I can rest, as He leads me through this test.
While this may be a test of faith, God grants me His Grace,
To see me through to the end, even upon the darkest bend;
The end He knew at the start, from my side He won’t depart,
So I will follow the Spirit’s lead, as God handles every need.
Only The Lord knows the way, that He’ll lead me day to day,
And I’m always in His sight, even as I rest through the night;
Then in the morning as I rise, He lifts my heart to new highs,
As He leads me all my days; filling my heart with His Praise.
So worry simply has no place, as He fills my life with Grace,
Handling all my needs and cares, every day in all my affairs;
So unwavering faith is a must, while in God, I place my trust,
Who planned my life eternally, can care for any earthly need.

Just for you
When I first met her
She was looking for a poem
Little did I know that in darkness
She could be my light
Quick with a comeback
But as I stared into her lines
I could see the pain she felt
I could see past the lies
I could see the true pain behind the Ink
So full of anger, so much hurt
But that anger wasn't meant for me
The second I saw her poems
I connected with her
Every time I read about something bad
I felt the need to frown
But even though I can't see her
Behind her keyboard
I know she's just an angel in disguise

I Dreamt
I dreamt that the LORD came to me
And a message he did give me.
In this dream:
I came upon the face of the LORD
Long before I was born.
He came and touched my soul
And made me completely whole.
He said: you are going down to earth
To this woman who will give you birth
She will show you all there is to know in life
who will show You how to bear the struggles and strife.
there is so much that you must learn
And many a life you must turn.
There are so many people who have gone astray
I need you to show the way.
Your mothers love will strengthen you every day
It’s a beautiful price that you will pay.
Strength from above and strength from below
We’ll show you the way you have to go.
She has prayed for you for many a year
Now it’s time for your love to share.
The love that she gives to you
Will help to see you through,
Open your heart to all that are around
They will come to you in leaps and bounds.
You will have a purity that every person
Will feel and see, this is the way that it must be.
In this dream I saw myself learning the bible
Although I had not opened up one in quite a while.
I started to read the stories of his life
And the miracles he created, and lives that
Were turned around that were devastated.
Then I awoke and I felt empty inside
Tears rolling down my cheeks that I tried to hide.
I knew that it was a dream and that it could never
Happen to me, for it was something that I could not see.
And although I can’t recall the features of his face
FAITH, LOVE, HOPE, in me he did place.

A Cute Poem For A Cute Girl
You changed my world with a blink of an eye,
That is something that I can not deny,
You put my soul from worst to best,
That is why I treasure you my dearest Marites.
You just don't know what you have done for me,
You even pushed me to the best that I can be,
You really are an angel sent from above,
To take care of me and shower with love.
When I'm with you I will not cry even a single a tear,
And your touch have chased away all of my fear.
You have given me a life that I could live worthwhile,
It is even better every time you smile.
It so magical those things you've made,
To bring back my faith that almost fade.
Now my life is a dream comes true,
It all began when I was loved by you.
Now I have found what I am looking for
It's you and your love and nothing more.
Because you have given me this feeling of contentment,
In my life something I've never felt.
I wish I could talk till the end of day,
But now I'm running out of things to say,
So I'll end by the line you already know,
'I LOVE YOU' more than what I could show.

A Soul's Prayer
Enflame my heart with love divine, O God;
Enkindle it with fountains of your grace;
Pour forth your wisdom in some way, O Lord;
Give me the heav'nly gaze and sheen of face!
This earthly life is good but bad as well;
It's ephemeral nature's clearly felt;
At times, the place becomes almost like hell;
My virtues, will-pow'r, faith and hope all melt!
Look down with favour Lord, upon this soul!
It writhes in pain and shame of sins galore;
Without your help, it can't improve its role;
Shower your grace and mercy ever more!
The crafty Tempter's always on the prowl;
I cannot keep alert all through my life;
My soul with sin soon brims, o'erflows its bowl;
My faith and hope seems lost in newer strife!
Hearken O Lord, to my pleas, cry, I pray!
Forsake me not for moment's time even;
My tongue turns dry by praying night and day;
I yearn to always keep on road to heav'n!

Love, Faith and Hope
Love is one identifying mark that sets Believers and others apart.
Men will know us from others when we have love one for another.
Love covers a multitude of sin, when you have Christ’s love within.
It was Christ’s love on the cross that covered the sins of the lost.
No greater love to comprehend than giving one’s life for a friend.
In His love, God did condescend, saving sinners like us, my friend.
We display the love of Christ, when we become a living sacrifice.
It’s a reasonable service to Him; As His Love washed away our sin.
If in your life you give God His place, He will then fill you with faith.
This Faith centers upon Him; as Christ turns you from a life of sin.
Faith becomes your foundation, the moment you receive Salvation.
Friend in your newly found Faith, you will be led by God’s Grace.
And friend your Faith is assured, as you put your Hope in The Lord,
Not in your life or other men but Hope in the One who God did send.
For Christ is The Hope of all men, He is The Beginning and The End,
As Christ is The Hope of certainty, that goes on well into Eternity.
My friend, Faith, Hope and Love, they are all gifts from God up above,
And if you glean from up above, you will see that the greatest is Love.
God’s Love produces in us a Faith that helps us point to God’s Grace.
Grace appeared to all then, and Christ remains The Hope of all men.

Faith, Hope, Trust
Faith is a feeling of misconception.
I have Faith in myself,
But should I have Faith in you?
The real challenge is retaining Faith in us.
Hope is a state that is unsteady.
I can Hope to find Faith,
But will Hope cure the fallacy that is us?
Hoping to have Faith gives life more demand.
Trust is an idea that troubles me.
I must Trust in my Hope of finding Faith,
But will that Trust finally induce our perfect peace?
Or should I Trust that your Faith in us is Hopeless?
In order to have Faith in us,
I must first show Faith in you.
Untill I believe you have Hope in us,
I'll keep the Hope that us is true.
And when you start to Trust in us,
You can Trust I will see it through.

Love That Was Real
You came into my life and touched my heart
as I looked in your eye's so beautiful and brown
I seen deep inside your soul
and that's when you turned my life around
You put a smile on my face where I wore a frown
lifting me up when I was feeling down
mending my wounds that I couldn't heal
you gave to me a new love to feel
and a brand new start
Thinking of you I couldn't let go
and no matter how far apart
you took away my emptiness with so much love to fill
and you showed me a love that was real
