Ask Your Dog 'What Time Is It'?

If you could ask a dog
“What time is it? ”…
You most likely
Would just hear a howl

A bark, a snuffle
A snort or a sniff
A whimper, a whine
Or a growl

But that’s not what I hear
And that’s not his reply
When I ask my dog
“What does the clock say? ”

I know by the look
That I see In his eye
That the answer is
“It’s time to play! ”

So if your dog could just talk
And If you just knew how…
to listen …to him, His answer to you
would be “It’s time to play, Right now! ! ! ”

Enjoy Your Day

You approached me to ask a question.
And taking my time to listen...
With a response I had hoped,
You would comprehend.
Not only did you not do that.
But you edited my answer...
To 'insert' what you thought,
For you did not offend.

Now you accuse me of not being direct.
You say my answer,
For you is not effective.
You inject words connected to my response,
To something you rather accept.
And I hear your attempts,
To try to comvince others...
What it is I really meant!

'Why are you leaving? '

You asked me a question.
I answered it.
Now I take my exit.
To that do you also object?

'But I think your response,
Should be open to debate.'

First of all...
You approached me.
And the time given...
I did not hesitate.
You wanted to hear something you formulate.
Something in your mind you hoped I would find.
And I'm not wasting any more of my time...
To play a game of ping pong,
With someone who has yet to learn...
The reason or the effective use of the paddle.

And besides,
If I did decide to play...
It would be with someone,
Who had something meaningful to say.
And all you wish to do is to occupy space,
In the hopes someone will come forward...
To assist you in the use of it!

'Don't you think your point of view is a bit arrogant? '

That depends!
Is that your second question?
Or should I be seeking your permission to leave?
And neither question,
Do I seek from you an answer.
But I will give you the benefit...
To decide for yourself,
Which one eventually applies!
How is that?
Enjoy your day.

'You will not be asked back here again! '

Was I not already here when you entered?
Again...
Enjoy your day!

There Is a Time To.....

There is.......

A time to write,
A time to listen,
A time to learn,
A time to play,

A time to read,
A time to see,
A time to lead,
A time to sleep,

A time to be happy,
A time to be mad,
A time to be silly,
A time to be sad.

A time to wake,
A time to stay,
A time to talk,
A time to walk.

A time to help,
A time to hurt,
A time to scheme,
A time to dream,

A time to make a difference,
A time to love,
A time to try,
A time to die

A time to wonder,
A time to want,
A time to live,
A time to do something.

There is always going to be a time,
But will you do something when that time comes?

Jack

Did you hear that horrific shrill break the silence of the night?
What made that unearthly sound that gave me such a fright?
I can’t believe you never heard it I thought it echoed out loud,
why even the trees cowered that seconds ago stood so proud.

Listen! There it goes again surely you heard it this time,
it was louder and more piercing like a high-pitched whine?
It was also much closer possibly only a 100 meters or so,
look the grass has turned, as though it wants to up and go.

What could frighten nature this way, I’ve never seen the like before?
It has to be something unnatural it’s the only answer I’m sure.
I wonder if it’s some kind of animal, or a primitive type of man
it can’t possibly be both… at least I don’t think it can.

Jack! Jack, where are you? This is no time for fooling around,
stop playing silly games… I can hear a breathing sound.
Did you hear that branch snap? It sounded like a cracked bone,
I don’t like it here Jack… I think I’m going home.

Please show yourself Jack, I don’t want to go and leave you alone.
I’m sorry; I can’t stay any longer, I can hear a deathly moan.
Why don’t you answer your mobile..? The line seems to be dead.
Jack you’re really frightening me, I’m going home to bed.

The Only Sounds

If you're there and you care
And you listen very careful, darling
You'll hear my prayer
And if you hear, loud and clear
You would get a million kisses from me
Somewhere, somehow
And if the night's a lonely time for you
Just listen the words i gave to you
Let the song of ours play one more time
Somewhere, somehow
I'll be there
Went out walkin' in the morning
Standing in the pouring rain
let it run all over me
Stayed up late last night
Tryin' to put all the things right
Then the tears roll over me
And if the night's a lonely time for you
Just listen to the words i gave to you
Let the song or ours play one more time
Somewhere, Somehow
I'll be there
If you're there, and you care
You'll get a million kisses from me
Somewhere, somehow
And if you feel like i feel
Love cuts the deepest part of me
Somewhere, somehow
And if the night's a lonely time for you
Just listen to the words i gave to you
Let the song of ours play one more time
Somewhere, somehow
I'll be there

Were Living In Our Own Time

Maurice white, michael colombier & allee willis
I feel it in the night
I hear a whisper, a ray of light
A flash across the sky
Through the window in my eyes
A bolt of thunder
Exploding in my mind
Is it real, what I feel
Its just like floating away
While the moon floods the room
I can hear music start to play
I see it on your face
Oh, what a difference lovin can make
Silence of the dark, words are falling
From my heart
Its all around us
My thoughts are calling
Imagination is born when loves alive
A spirit creating a place for you and i
Together lets ride away to find the universe
And let our dreams live our lives
Living in our own time
You are the answer
Loving on our own time
We found the answer
Hiding in the midnight
Now Im so willing to discover
Believing forever touching each other
Nothing out there can stop us tonight
All that were feeling so right
You mean so much to me
I feel so wanted, but still so free
The warmth of your embrace
I know time will not erase
Making it easy to go loving
You are the answer
Loving on our own time
We found the answer
Hiding in the midnight

Old Time Fiddle

(Vince Gill / Leslie Satcher)
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Play an old time fiddle song
I might even drink just a little
If you play Little Jolie Blon
If you're lookin' or me
I'm liable to be
In the middle of the ol' dance floor
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Like you never get to hear anymore.
First Chorus:
I wanna throw down on a hoe down
Hanging with the people I know
Hear the sweet sound
Of a breakdown
When you put a little rosin on the bow
Y'all come on over when the sun goes down
Bang on the ol' screen door
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Like you never get to hear anymore.
I miss ol' Herman Stover
Playin' Listen To The Mockingbird
It was Piedmont, Oklahoma
It was the sweetest sound I ever heard
Skinny ol' man in a cowboy band
You could barely get the people in the door
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Like you never get to hear anymore.
Second Chorus:
I wanna throw down on a hoe down
Hanging with the people I know
Hear the sweet sound
Of a breakdown
When you put a little rosin on the bow
Play diggy diggy li
Diggy diggy lo
The a little Cotten-Eyed Joe
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Like you never get to hear anymore.
First chorus:
Y'all come on over when the sun goes down
Bang on the ol' screen door
I wanna hear an old time fiddle
Like you never get to hear anymore...

The Work I Hate

Could it be so? Is my end this near?
Is that the carriage of Death I hear?
No, it can't be. I've wasted no time.
I did not play or have a good time

I worked and I toiled, day in and day out
I gave not a whimper, I did not pout
So why does Death draw ever faster?
What treachery's this? I must speak to his Master

Maybe that's it; that must be the answer
The toil I've done is simply cancer
All the work that I've done in this lifetime
Has create a tumor, filled with lost time

Planted in the plains of cowardice
Sewn into the soil of avarice
Watered by my lonely tears
Grown under a Sun of broken cheer

The work that I've done was meaningless
For it did not yield for me happiness
I wasted my life working for pain
I did work that I hated and saw no gain

Time Of No Reply

Summer was gone and the heat died down
And autumn reached for her golden crown
I looked behind as I heard a sigh
But this was the time of no reply.
The sun went down and the crowd went home
I was left by the roadside all alone
I turned to speak as they went by
But this was the time of no reply.
The time of no reply is calling me to stay
There is no hello and no goodbye
To leave there is no way.
The trees on the hill had nothing to say
They would keep their dreams till another day
So they stood and thought and wondered why
For this was the time of no reply.
Time goes by from year to year
And no one asks why I am standing here
But I have my answer as I look to the sky
This is the time of no reply.
The time of no reply is calling me to stay
There's no hello and no goodbye
To leave there is no way.

Me-Time Continuum

I watch the clock ticking out its time.
I hear the gears tocking 'till the chime…
I hold my stare acutely
And focus ears astutely.
The whole gestalt of this assault by me on clock
Collapses in to hence become
A new me-time continuum,
This clock and I a vacuum;
Dial and me, we've come to be
A synergistic, fatalistic victim,
Hmm…

When it ticks, I then tock:
I am me as well as clock.
When it tocks, I then tick.
We burn together down the wick
In candle wax, both cold and warm,
Together now in molten form.
We jump the side but soon to stall,
Only to solidify
Until the active plateau
Chases…
Down…
Sinking…
To melt again the bit that ran (us) –
All in a time storm
With timeless plan.

Cross That Line

What do you say
To a talk over dinner
Though we havent
Spoken for a while
This time I wont take no
For an answer
You cant hide forever
From your only son
Lets take a seat
Right here by the window
I remember how you like the view
Now look me in the eye
The truth I wanna hear
The time is right
Theres a shadow hanging
Over me tonight
Tell me what you did now
Even though it hurts to say
Its always been a mystery
Locked behind the door
Tell me is it true now
Do you need the heart to say it
I always did my best for you
Dont you lie
Dont you lie no more
You tought me the way
To be a winner
And never to play
On the losing side
I guess that I turned out
The way you always planned
So hard to cross that line
But the words have got to come
From you this time

Great Listening Act Part 2

I don’t want to understand
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to know
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
Words are jumping wild
Like a sudden flood

I don’t want to promise
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to consider
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
Why can I erase that mud
That covered my heart

I don’t want to think
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I don’t want to care
I don’t want to listen
But I hear it anyway
I always fall to the trap you made
And play with my sympathy

I am o.k. you are o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘Don’t worry, I shall get you one’
A child like question
And an expected parental reply.
I am o.k., you are o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘I know you will do only that’
Parent reply belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not o.k.

‘I lost my pen’
‘You can borrow from me’
A child-like question.
An adult like answer.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Is the bus late?
‘Which bus comes in time?
An adult seeking an adult
But received a parent reply.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘Is the bus late? ’
‘Yes, heard only ten minutes’
Both responded as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes, let me hide first’
A child sought from a child
And received it.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘No, this is not the time’
The reply is parental
And belied the question.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘Let us play hide and seek’
‘Yes. Then we should read’
A child and an adult reaction
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘You should not smoke’
‘Yes. I shall cut it’
A parental question.
An adult reply.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘You should not smoke’
‘First, you cut your chewing’
A parental question
Seeking a child answer
But was belied.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘She should be taught a lesson’
‘ Yes, otherwise she will worsen’
A parent seeking a parent and got.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

‘I love you.’
‘I can’t forget you.’
Both are adult,
Expecting and receiving
As adults. I and you are o.k.

‘I love you’
‘Shh.. Others may watch”
A child’s reply to a child
Both are o.k.

‘I love you’
‘Bitch! Go to hell; I’ll report’
A parental reply, instead.
I am o.k. You are not.

‘I love you.’
‘I think you misunderstood.’
Both behaved as adults.
I am o.k. You are o.k.

You be the way you are expected.
You are then o.k. to others.
When others fail to be the way
You expected, you reason for it.
Others will be o.k. to you.
Then where is the individuality?

Question

I don't have the answer

So why ask me, why?

Why do you ask me a question

When there is no reply?

As though the answer was this?

Did you know all along?

That so much space

Is weighed down in white silence

Who told you these things?

These imagined replies?

To the unanswered question

The question why?

There is no reply

But bad weather

Rough roads

There is no reply

Leave the rain alone

There is no reply

No reply

No answer to why

Leave the question alone

No face in the sky

No key to the door

No there is nothing, but nothing

So leave nothing alone

And turn round and go home

Watch the sea from your window

The waves rise and fall

Nothing but madness

And nothing at all! !

The moon's silver crescent

No time to recall

What is left

What is deaf

What is blind

To ritual?

To sign?

There's no pattern no season

No face in the wall

No reason too reasonable

To make no sense at all!

There is no reply

To pain

Love lost

To prayer

Why ask me these questions?

When there's no answer there?

Blue Notes

All you players
who play the blues
play, play
play the sad news.
The minor chords
will take you down low.
Let the sax wail
and the trumpet blow.
Listen and lament with
that licorice stick,
all you lovers
sad and heartsick.

Let it all out boys.
Play, play, play.
Those tearful lovers
hear what you say.
They hear those blues
and they feel it too.
It will let their tears fall
like no other notes can do.

Album : Silencer (2001)
The fields have no shame
See with eyes that cannot see
Know the difference just the same
And this I know
Feel the fear of being crushed
When the sky falls on our heads
All the truth is being hushed
And this I know
Love whole love, Love whole love
Love whole love, Love whole love
Love whole love, Love whole love...
I want to hear an answer
I want to hear an answer
Knocked the bullet on the head
Cut myself don't mind in pain
Feel the colour stain me red
And this I know
I want to hear an answer
I want to hear an answer
When you find out everything you've lived is a lie
When you find out everything you've lived is a lie (yeah..)
Love whole love, Love whole love
Love whole love, Love whole love

Try to Understand Me Too (Autism)

Today might not be my day,
You might understand what I want to say.
There are times that I want to wave my hand,
And you might think it is something that I am trying to demand.
Can you hear the soun
ds as I pound my feet,
Well maybe not, but all I am doing is trying to sound a beat.
Do you remember when I read the book with you?
It was about the ghost and you made me laugh when you said BOO.
I love to hear it when we whisper and shout Lullabies, songs and rhymes,
To me I wonder, if they can hear us while we do this during school time.
This is one reason why I always say things over and over again,
And when you try to stop me, I get mad every now and then.
I only wish I can understand everything that I'm being told,
But to me it feels like I am always being controlled.
Can you remember when you asked the class a question and I wanted to answer it when was not my turn,
All I am just trying to do is show you that I can remember things that I learn.
I try to understand why I get so mad and I cannot control myself and I hurt you,
When I think about it I get sad and cry because I wish someone could, Try to Understand Me Too.
I wish the other kids would let me play,
If they took the time to talk to me, they might understand things my way,
I also love it when you want to teach me how to pray,
And you ask the Lord to help thru this day,
I know that you understand me and even, if no one ever wants to even take a guess,
So, this is my ways of saying thank you and telling you that I will always try and do my best.

His Answer To My Question Was A Question

His answer to my question
Was a question
My answer to his reply
Was returned
With another question
The game of
Answering and asking
Questions
Did not end
Till I questioned
The very motive
Of our conversation
We came to the conclusion
How to pass time?
Was the biggest question
Asking questions
And creating confusion
Was the answer
So we passed our time
Asking and answering questions
The question now is
Whether we did right or wrong?
The answer is
Why ask a useless question?

I could wait all night and day,
To go to a party sit down and wait,
Give my request to the DJ,
Cuz my song hes gotta play.
And when i hear that beat,
I get my body up out my seat
I grab a guy and move my feet,
He's playin my song!
Play,
Come on play that song,
Play it all night long,
Just turn it up and turn it on!
Play,
Come on Dj play that song.
You know it turns me on.
(DJ just play that song)
Just turn it up and turn it on!
Dj just play that song,
Cuz i wanna be dancin all night long
Just play my, play my, play my,
Play my, play my favorite song!
I dont care if everybody's gone.
Turn it up cuz it turns me on.
Keep dancin all night long,
Feels so right that it cant be wrong.
I get chills up and down my spine,
Whenever I hear that song of mine.
When it stops better press rewind.
Let me hear it one more time!
Play,
Come on play that song,
Play it all night long,
Cuz I wanna be dancin' all night long!
Play,
Come on Dj play that song.
You know it turns me on.
(DJ just play that song)
Cuz I wanna be dancin' all night long!
I just wanna dance.
Is that a crime?
Alright then.
Play..Play..Play..Play..Play
Now Mr. DJ,
I've asked you three times..
Play My Mother f*ckin song!!
Play,
Come on play that song,
Play it all night long,
Just turn it up and turn it on!
Play,
Come on Dj play that song.
You know it turns me on.

When I answer the phone

The phone is ringing
I can just look at the clock
And know it's you

You always call
Around the same time
Your so predictable

I let the answering machine answer it
Because I don't feel like getting yelled at just yet
So you leave a stupid random message
That always seem to make me smile

Then the next time you call back
I answer it and you make me cry
You always seem to bring me down
And the worst part of it
Is that I think it makes you happy

So after we're done talking
I sit alone and cry
I should of known better
Not to answer the phone
When you call

But all my friends hear
those stupid random messages
And tell me how funny you are
And how lucky I am to have you around

But your not funny
And I'm not lucky to have you around
No one see's how badly you treat me
When you think no one is around

I just want someone to see
How you really are
They think it's me that has the problem

When it's you that has the problem
But no one will see it
Because your such a great actor
