In the Fray (school)
hours, hours yes they fly by
so far away, so high in the sky
i just cannot reach
any of my dreams and there is a breach
in consciousness and rhyme
and this gap may last for all time
in the middle of the test
taking a crazy exam with little food and little rest
they think i am crazy now
maybe not done asking the question how
and why?
why o why do i write am i high? or something
or on drugs? nay and no i say
quite frankly, no not today,
never
it seems like such a useless endeavor
to forget one's problems in a such a way
therefore i run far away
from such things as i take my test

I Say With Fingers Crossed
Woke up this morning,
didn’t seize the moment well,
defeat was every corner,
whichever way I took.
It started with a blood test;
you know the type
where you have to starve yourself
for twelve hours.
The one where they can test
your cholesterol.
It wasn’t until I got there I found
there was two test you can have.
One you can’t eat anything
and with the other one you can
I was down for the latter
and I didn’t know.
I starved myself
only to find I didn’t need to.
Then I changed my Internet Supplier
and had problems one after the other.
The day was beginning
to look like another total disaster.
The more I tried,
the worse it got.
Eventually after a lot of trial and error
and almost pulling out my hair.
The problems resolved themselves
when it was time to go to bed.
Tomorrow can only get better,
I say with fingers crossed.
